You must visit this place !! The ice creams are absolutely amazing and so is the service ..I was choosing what I thought are my two favourite flavours and then the charming Italian man serving us picked up a plastic spoon and picked what he thought was a better contrasting flavour- a flavour I would never have chosen for myself - and gave me a free taste and he was absolutely right and then did the same for my partner ..he made choosing flavours fun !!

Went for a rare walk down local high street, in Canton (pronouced Can-tun), and found this. Agree with all the favourable reviews and if the staff were really as unfriendly as the few unfavourable reviews claim then this place has changed, and for the better. Attractive premises, friendly welcome (maintained throughout visit), good selection of products, reasonable prices, Italian staff, and a place you can get coffee up to 10pm (and I imagine the staff would be up to the task of dealing with any evening rowdies). Across the street and a few doors down is the same people's other Canton place, serving usual Italian food, a place which a friend tells me is also friendly.

Superlative, authentic, and unexpected dessert experience. We are just in Cardiff for the weekend and luckily came across this lovely café after our original evening plans didn't happen. We were so warmly welcomed by the owner, who is justifiably proud of the treats that are both beautiful and delicious. You can really tell the quality of the ingredients and the expert techniques in making both the pastries and the gelato. I'm sure if we lived in Cardiff, we'd be regular customers. The cannoli were perfectly fresh, just the right texture and sweetness. The signature Calabrisella gelato flavor must be tried. And we also enjoyed such a friendly and interesting chat, including the history of the business depicted in framed original artwork on the wall. Two enthusiastic thumbs up, or four if you count both of us!

Oh Wow! What a fantastic gellateria. Great choice of flavours and generous servings and tasted devine! Value for money!

I have been here half a dozen times over the last few weeks. The crepes are to die for. The sundaes are superb. I have taken home a tub of my favourite gelatos on 4 different occasions. Today I sat and had a croissant and latte and watched the world go by. The cakes on display are beautiful. The staff and service are super friendly. This place is a superb addition to Canton and I love popping in for a treat.

We went on a Sunday afternoon with our three year old. The Gelato was amazing as was the waffle ice cream concoction. Service was great, especially the waiter who took time out to interact with our son and make him laugh and smile!

Just mmmm- got a birthday cake to share with family- didn’t ore order just chose one and took it home! Simple, welcoming, hygienic and best of all the cake was to die for. Everyone loved it and said how we need to visit there more often. We’re all Italians so we know when we found a gem, this is definitely the real deal!

Their gelato is out of this world. I had the Ferrero Rocher one in a waffle cone and it was enormous and absolutely divine. Treat yourself.

Calabrisella has been serving great Italian food in Cardiff for a few years now, and the quality of their ice cream is as good as you'd get in Italy. But the staff, especially the non-mask-wearing managers at the Gelateria are so unsmiling and miserable it's almost not worth it. Delicious ice cream on a sunny day is cause for much happiness amongst the clientele, such a shame the staff don't feel it too.

Decided to drive to Cardiff from Abergavenny (Monmouthshire) today for an ice cream as it looked really nice on social media. The ice cream was really good however the attitude of the staff were an entirely different story, including the really miserable Italian manager who was extremely rude, not a smile on their face, no masks and gave the impression that it was too much trouble to serve us, clearly they need to learn a few customer service skills as the ice cream may be good but it is about the whole experience not just the product. Overall really disappointing, and as first impressions last wouldn’t visit again

Such a lovely mix of cakes, ice creams, true authentic Italian sweet treats - feel as if I’m back in Italy! Lovely service and well laid out seating area … so good to see how this brand has expanded and thriving - just shows how much their hard work has paid off … bravi tutti 👏👏

What terrible service made me pay before I could chose what I wanted. The man serving ice cream was not wearing mask over it was on his neck . He was trying to make us buy bigger ice creams asking for more money off us so rude . Asked for refund and left .

I think this is quite a new place, and it is very good. The service, ambience, ice cream and location are excellent. Only one complaint; a big and welcome effort is made to create a good Italian atmosphere. But it's spoilt by the dreadful anglo-american musak played on the sound system. We'll certainly go again. But maybe next time with ear plugs.

Who needs to go to Italy?!! This is the best icecream outside of it - sorry Joe’s and Cadwaladr’s etc who I do love too but this is a cut above and has made me realise what I’ve been missing... really superb traditional icecream parlour,...

Recently opened and just doing take away at the moment. More expensive than ordinary ice cream but well worth it for a treat and portions are generous. We tried the strawberry, the pistachio and the milk flavour which were all really good and would happily...

I confess to being a bit of a Gelato fan myself.. this was the best pistachio ice cream ice ever had.. not the cheapest but it's the best.
