Calabrisella were incredible as our wedding caterers. We’ve long been huge fans of their restaurant, where we had our first meal as a couple together. It was the perfect choice for our special day. Every detail was meticulously handled and they took care of all our catering needs; a beautiful canapé spread for cocktail hour, a two-course sit-down meal, our wedding cake, a dessert table, and a pizza van for the evening. Our guests were absolutely blown away by the food; everyone raved about the exceptional quality and generous portions—no one left with an empty belly! Salvo, Angelo, and the entire team took excellent care of us, offering a bespoke and delicious menu tailored to dietary requirements, including allergies, vegetarian, and dairy-free options. The tasting session was brilliant, and Chef Domenico was amazing; the food quality was outstanding and the plating on the big day could easily rival that of a Michelin-starred restaurant. The canapés were beautiful and our wedding cake—a classic Italian sponge with fresh fruits and cream—was a huge highlight. They even crafted a stunning dummy cake for photos that perfectly matched my inspiration pictures. The dessert table was exquisite, and every sweet treat looked as good as it tasted. The waitstaff on the day were professional, attentive, and ensured everything ran smoothly. The communication with our venue, Insole Court, was also seamless, leaving us stress-free throughout the process. Calabrisella’s team put so much thought and care into every aspect of the catering, it truly made our day unforgettable. Been here a few times now, food is always spot on. Freshly made, staff are friendly. Honestly haven't been able to find something I can actually call pizza since I've travelled to Italy a few years back. This is definitely as close to the og! Be sure to make a reservation otherwise you won't be able to find a table.

First time came to this branch in Canton as we have been to the one at Cathay before. But the food tastes fantastic and never fail us each time we come to Calabrisella. Keep up the good work and we'll see you soon 👍👍👍

The delivery was fast.The sauce and dough were very tasty, however there was a lack of toppings. I had paid extra for chicken and mozzarella and as you can see there was very little there. This was a shame as everything else was good the toppings that were there tasted great.

Les llamamos por teléfono y la única respuesta que pudieron dar fue lamentar escuchar sobre su mala experiencia. Claramente no se preocupan por su servicio y menos aún por el producto que venden a los clientes que pagan! ¡Esto es una desgracia y deberían avergonzarse de asociarse con la auténtica comida italiana! ¡No desperdicies el dinero que tanto te costó ganar!

The food was ok, the pizza from the specials was a bit disappointing as it was smaller then the normal pizzas and just had random stuff on it, didn't really go together.

First time ordering from here tonight. Due to burst water main I thought a take away would help the situation, food was lovely, but very messy when delivered. I’m sure it’s better when you eat in. Wouldn’t order from here again BUT would try a sit in meal.

We've eaten at both branches of Calabrisella more than once or twice now, and it remains our favourite Cardiff restuarant. The standard menu is great, and they do some of the best pizzas this side of Napoli, but keep an eye out for the specials, because there are some incredible treats to be had......the "rolle di coniglio" is genuinely one of the nicest things I've ever eaten, and my wife declared her Italian vrsion of a mixed grill a total triumph. After three courses each we rolled out into Cathays a very happy family, carrying takeaway arancine for breakfast. We'll be back soon!

Tuvimos una comida fabulosa en familia, incluyendo una picadura de lámpara sobre un especial de puré de batata, fantástica pizza Inferno, Strozzapreti Calabresi, berenjena parmesano y Tiramisú. Tomamos bebidas después de la cena, incluyendo Sambuca y un capuchino. Cada vez que estamos en Cardiff nos aseguramos de parar aquí. El servicio es absolutamente fantástico cada vez. Es acogedor, cómodo y de fácil acceso. Si quieres un fantástico italiano, asegúrate de parar aquí. ¡El mejor italiano en Cardiff!

Absolutely phenomenal evening meal, not many seats, so worth booking a table in advance, service was top notch they all made us feel like family. If you are considering Italian then eat here. To be honest if your not considering Italian than you should be.

6 de nosotros fuimos aquí por el cumpleaños de mi madre. Estaba muy destripado porque fue mi idea ir aquí porque escuché que era agradable y vine muy recomendable. Realmente caro y me sentí estafado, pedí una cabaña que cobraron un extra de £ 2. 50 para tagliatelle. Solo ten cuidado hay un recargo encima que en una honestidad £ 28. 00 propina por el servicio que nunca habríamos pagado. Nadie se quejó en ese momento porque no queríamos molestar a mi madre cuyo cumpleaños era, pero con toda honestidad hemos aprendido una lección. Nunca volveré.

First visit for me and my hubby, to celebrate my birthday, and we'll definitely be returning. It's authentically italian in both staff, customers and atmosphere. The service was brilliant, the food amazing, and the house wine worth every penny. Reasonably priced too. The whole experience was amazing.

Gooooood this place is amazing! Authentic Italian food with homey vibe. You can learn things about Calabrian culture and traditions too. One of the best meals I’ve had during my stay in Cardiff (tip for solo travellers - check portion size before ordering or you’re in for a big ^^ surprise)

Lovely staff. Yummy food, unfortunately had to return aranchini as still v cold in the middle. Apologies accepted, including from the chef and food cooked again, came out piping hot second time round.

There was a large group of us, we had the room to ourselves upstairs which was great. Staff were really lovely and attentive. Food was all really good will definately come again :)

Cowbridge Rd is certainly not Cardiff's jewel. But Calabrisella Canton gets the best out of the small shop. Above all, it tastes really good. An almost perfect pizza. There are also many other unusual treats to discover on the menu.

I ordered my lunch for sharing with my colleague through Deliveroo and arrived my pizza without cutting and all toppings slide to the edge of the box. I have no utentsil to cut the pizza so I end up to have it by myself and eat a mouth of topings and a mouth of pizza bread. Having form a complaints to Deliveroo and insulting by getting 80p of refund! Order with Deliveroo mean to be a convenient meal at work, end-up no convenient and a bad exerience with my first and last order with this pizza place.

£15 for a spag boll that tasted exactly the same as Tesco ready meal for a fiver. Waited ages for takeaway not even garlic bread. For that price I was expecting better.

The best Italian in Cardiff by far.

Fantastic. I've been living in Cardiff for just under a year and I think it's the only place I want to go back to for food. The food was amazing and well-priced. The staff were so polite and gave all the necessary information towards our time there. Food came out very fast considering we were told it was busy. There has been thought put into everything such as having frozen glasses for your beer. Will definitely return, just make sure you book in advance as there is limited seating.

We booked a table for 4. My wife, children and me first visited this restaurant for my daughter's birthday. The food and service was exceptional. We later booked a table at their Cathays restaurant. Again the food and service was exceptional. We plan to return in the near future.

Food is great at a very affordable price, staff are lovely and professional, if I may be allowed one small criticism is that the plates are cold so food cools down. I’ve eaten there a several times and would recommend it highly.

Food was great. The seating is a bit tight but the food makes up for it.

I would look at giving your staff some customer service training as they are quite rude and cliquey. They’ve no idea how to welcome new customers or generate / retain new custom. They really put me and my partner off from ever, returning. It’s always nice to try somewhere new and to have the staff laugh and joke about you in a different language right to your face.

Just unbelievable ! This is the best Italian food I’ve ever tasted. We went Rome, Naples and Pisa and nothing was near this place. The atmosphere is fantastic and always made to feel part of the family. If you have not checked it out it’s a must.

In my opinion this is one of the best restaurants in Cardiff, definitely the best Italian. Excellent food, excellent service, and a proper community fixture.

My husband and I went for lunch at this place. They are friendly. But they charged you 10£ for service which is quite a bit. When I ordered the pasta carbonara, the waitress asked me which pasta I wanted to eat with. So I chose fettuccine pasta which charged another 2.5£ on top of the menu price. She should actually explain to us for extra charge if the fettuccine is ordered. I hope they should charge service fee for more appropriately and explain for extra charge if the customer choose different pasta. A bit disappointed about service charging and extra cost without informing us.

Some of the most enjoyable & authentic southern Italian food I’ve had in Wales, the arancini were excellent and a great choice of pizze. Salads a little expensive for the size but very fresh. Definitely worth it overall. 9/10

Have wanted to visit for a while but somehow always ended up eating in town, but spur of moment booked this the day before & no problem with booking, my partner & I went Friday & was very impressed ----staff were good & friendly, things on menu were properly explained & not disappointed with our choices------main ---- dessert & bottle of house red ----FAB ----- will be back

One of our favourite restaurants which we keep coming back to, and introducing more family and friends to it along the way! We particularly love the breakfasts - they use such high quality ingredients making it amazing value for money. Pasta and pizza never disappoint here either! Grazie mille!
