What a beautiful place. Very relaxing atmosphere and the food was delicious. Definitely a place you could while away the hours in with a book or social group.

Spent a most wonderful evening here for a live music event (Paul Armfield supported by bird house). The café is simply stunning - sensational atmosphere, amazing décor, such a brilliant intimate venue. I knew Paul would be worth the journey. bird house was a delightful discovery. It was the music that made me visit, it will be the café itself that will bring me back. Is there a better café in Sheffield? I doubt it.

Hands down one of the best Cafe's I've had the privilege of chilling out in. Beautiful home made food. Superb teas and coffees. Really relaxing atmosphere. They also do local music nights and shows from some very atmosphere matching performers which are always a huge hit.

Stopped in for some food and coffee and had an excellent lentil stew and really good coffee sat out the front. Interior really cool and cosy, love all the unusual wood furniture. Will be back for sure.

This is the best/cosiest/loveliest cafe I've been to in my entire life and I have been to many cafes around the world! It's got such a nice community vibe that it makes you feel like home :) there's plants everywhere, fire going in the background, lovely jazzy music in the background and recently found out it's a laptop friendly too as they have a great wifi! However,it gets pretty busy as a lot of people work from there so I tend to go for 9am to get the best spot. They have some super yummy homemade cakes as well, which never disappoint and capuccino foam is just the next level!!!! Their homemade granola is supper yummy too!! Oh and you must try their cinnamon swirls, they're to die for! They have weekly/monthly gigs too,people come from all over the world ane the gigs are always super lovely and intimate as the cafe can only fit around 20-30ppl,so you always get to meet everyone at the end. If you havent been there yet,you're missing out :)

Visited with a friend for a morning coffee. Lovely ambience and comfortable atmosphere. Mocha was quite milky, obviously, but not super coffee-y (which is more my taste). Some nice looking cakey bits on display, including smaller and cheaper 'bites' which look identical to Costco bought ones but I do like the option of something small/cheap. Note: no highchairs or baby changing facilities.

Inimitable. I joke that Cafe #9 was the reason I moved to Sheffield but really it is the truth. It’s a dream of a place, everything is so well-considered but it feels so natural, warm and effortless. The music, the daily photocopied crossword with pot of sharpened pencils, the coffee, the delicious ever-changing array of lovingly baked cakes/biscuits, the wood panelling, plants and log burner, the fish tank, the little wooden tortoise on my favourite table. I could go on! It is always a pleasure to see Mario and Co. and it is always a highlight of my week to spend an hour in this very excellent Nether Edge institution.

lovely atmosphere and decor. chai latte was great and loved the crossword. update: i went back and they seem to have changed the chai latte. it was very milky and not like it was before

I came here for the Live music but the cake was delicious! A great venue for intimate live music, like Molly Parden tonight. Fabulous atmosphere, sound, lighting, setting - well done - lovely evening!

Absolutely lovely cafe, as someone who's darkened the doorstep of many cafes around the world I can easily say the atmosphere in this place is fantastic and what all cafes should aspire to! Cosy, welcoming, busy but not packed. Excellent coffee to. Highoy recommend!!

Cafe 9 is genuinely my happy place. I try and come here at least once every few weeks on a weekend to have a bit of a reset. It feels like you've stepped out of Sheffield into a little haven. It's beautiful inside, with the wood burner, plants and wood panelling as well as a nod to local artists with the prints and things on the walls. The atmosphere is amazing, the staff are always so so friendly and the coffee and food is always great. I'd come even if it wasn't honestly, as it's just lovely in here. They're happy with you coming in on your own as well and just chilling with a tea and a book. Also been for a few music evenings which are magical. All round love this place - sounds cheesy but it gives me a sense of community whenever I'm in here.

I found this place by accident on a visit to Sheffield and was completely blown away. It's just a lovely place and I can't praise it enough. The atmosphere is just perfect with a wood burner, gentle lighting, plants and cosy wood panelling. Best of all an excellent stereo playing nice thoughtful and interesting music. The coffee was really good and so was the granola and yoghurt breakfast bowl. The people working there were smiley and welcoming and the other coffee drinkers chilled breakfast companions reading, catching up with friends or doing a bit of work. Some places just have a real sense of who they are and their role in the community and the lives of their customers. This is one of those rare examples.

BYOB watched a folk band here for a friend's birthday. Small and cosy, some good events

Stunning venue, wonderful atmosphere and beyond charming.

I had tickets to a recent gig but saw the only 2 seats available were high bar stools just sat right in the middle of the cafe, not even near to a bar or table... most uncomfortable and not at all what I expect from having pre bought tickets to a gig. I could not sit on them, so I missed the gig. Most disappointing

Would definitely recommend this little Cafe; food, service and atmosphere were all excellent. After a morning of house hunting and viewings, needed a place to sit and recharge, walked past this little gem and went in. Found a seat (there aren't many tables, which is part of its atmosphere and charm), and expect this to be a favourite hangout for locals) ordered a coffee (was very good) and a granola bowl (which was excellent). A busy little cafe, but food came out quickly, and always with a smile. Great place, excellent value for money, you won't be disappointed.

The food was nice and the atmosphere was great. However, there was no high chair for my little one. The ladies in the shop were lovely to try cushions, but it didn't make much of a difference at the end. Overall, it was a good experience.

Nowhere to stand if you're queueing. People look at you whilst you try to queue like you've just insulted their mother, like it's my fault someone made them sit next to the coffee-waiting area. Good coffee though.

When you walk into Cafe #9 it’s like you’re transported into an alternate universe. The chill, calm atmosphere radiates from the outside, but I felt it like a hug when I stepped through the doors. Soft music, ambient lighting, a plethora of plants and knick knacks coupled with gorgeous wooden furniture makes me want to stay here all day. I had an oat milk flat white and a mini cinnamon roll warmed up. The coffee was hearty, smooth, and very fairly priced. A new favourite place of mine

Excellent coffee and great vegan treats, like the oatmeal + ginger cookie. Not overly sweet, just right. I had the Italian Broth soup with lentils and homemade bread. Really yummy!!

Brilliant local cafe, snug, friendly, welcoming, warm, unpretentious. Simple limited but tasty lunch menu. Small range of good cakes. Good evening (usually folk) live music.

Very cool vibe in boho terms. Nice coffee and I hear the Dahl is great too so I'll be back for that. The service however is poor. Absolutely zero acknowledgement of people standing at the counter, no "I'll be with you shortly" or "take a seat" .. It's just ignore.. so heavy down stars for that.

Best coffee and best vibes in Sheffield. They also have really well curated live music often. Remember: you can play the piano too - but don’t have sticky fingers.

I've passed Cafe #9 many times but never been in until the other Wednesday. The coffee was the best, only an Americano but excellent and the live music, Liam Johnson, was fantastic. I will be visiting again soon!

Called in here to kill time waiting for my car to be fixed and could have stayed all day. Very friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and good price too. I would be here every day if I lived closer. Well worth a visit and will definitely be calling again

The most friendly and chilled cafe I have ever been in. Really wonderful that it not only survived the lockdowns, but came out the otherside even more popular. I particularly like the stove, it's warm and cosy. Inevitably it creates some smoke, but this is more than offset by keeping lots of people warm and not using gas or electricity.

It’s a cosy, warm, relaxed place with a nice feel. So sad that the coffee isn’t amazing - maybe some new beans required because there’s nothing wrong with the way they make it.

This café is right up there for lots of reasons and if you haven't been, do it now! I thought I had been to the entire variety of cafés that Sheffield has to offer, but you could have knocked me down with a feather when I walked in. Jazz funk music playing, Dahl Of The Day on the menu and a range of herbal teas to out-do Holland & Barrett. The place has a wood-burner, punching out a warm welcome and the quirkiest of seating, with memorabilia in every corner. We sampled the coffee, lemon and ginger tea, homemade cake... one guten-free and we loved it... We'll be back!
