Had a takeaway with family, fish, haggis and sausage supper, donner kebab. Chips have to be the worst I've ever seen. Burnt to within an inch of their life. Donner was reasoanable albeit greasy.

We live fairly close to Callander and travel there frequently to eat. Bruno's has become our chippy of choice and we are delighted to say that following the recent change of management in the summer, the food on offer has been consistently very good. A great choice on offer, including traditional chippy food, pizza, kebabs kids meals and combo dishes. We're delighted, keep up the good work guys.

WoW,just bought 2 fish suppers and a single fish from bruno's and its got to be the worst fish I've ever had from a chip shop,what are you cooking it in Lava,as we'd say in Dundee YOUR FISH IS SH#TE!!!!!

i was in the shop today and the manager i assume was shouting at one of the female staff like she was a dog. she felt so insulted she left the shop and drove away. disgraceful

Ordered a donner kebab plus a pineapple & onion pizza. My daughter collected it and was given a pizza with pineapple, onion & donner meat on it . She told them that wasn’t right and they then made a donner kebab, but instead of making a new pizza they just removed the kebab meat. I phoned to ask if this is what they did and they confirmed it. I told them I was allergic to the meat and they refused refund unless I brought back the pizza that night, which I was unable to do until the next day. 1st time here and definitely the last. So disappointed in their service. No refund given.

So I ordered some donner meat kebabs and a burger at around 20 past 7, I didn't get anything untill around half past 9 and it was cold and hard and the donner meat was very greasy, most of it will most likely go in the bin as its not all edible, £26 total and was not worth it, wish I could get my money back.

We used to live in the area and would get a chippy from Brunos maybe once every 4 months. Food was always really good with quick and friendly service. But tonight we ordered a chicken supper from here and even though we called it in well in advance the food wasn't ready on time. The main issue though was that the chicken was still raw!! I could tell as soon as I looked at it that it hadn't been in the fryer nearly long enough. And when I opened it up it was all still pink. And yes, I know chicken isn't always white but this was straight up raw. We are staying outside of Callander so couldn't even pop back along to complain. Had to end up sorting other food. Plus the chips were clearly the dregs. Just all round a horrible chippy. Completely inedible unless you want some serious food poisoning! Don't know if it's changed hands or if the fry cooks are just not great. But I had to leave a review, it was that bad. Won't be back.

I’m a local, and of the 3 Chippies in Callander it’s the closest to my house. It was taken over last year at the first lockdown. When it reopened I gave it a go, I’m disabled, and when I went to pay by card the woman told me where the cash machine was, no “sorry we can’t take card payments “. I let it go, got the food, which was significantly worse than before. But, they’re just getting started, I’ll let it slip. I’ve been in a couple of times and the food wasn’t great, but it’s handy. So tonight same woman again, no hello, what can I get you etc, just a look, I start to order and she dashed away to the pizza guy while I’m mid sentence, and mid pizza order. I then add a chips order, no response, I ask if I’ve to pay now? No response, and then Im told to wait outside with an attitude. So last visit from me, I’ll drive to the other end of town. Very poor.

One of the worst in callender. Our order was not what we asked for fish supper turned out to be chicken pakora mozzarella sticks and chips turn out to be just sticks paid for gravy wasn't in the food order also avoid at all cost.

19th of October and we are in the area for a weeks holiday. We try to come to the area every year and always have a chippy treat from Bruno’s which is always amazing. Not this time, it was terrible totally rotten. We had 2 white pudding suppers that had a very strange smell and taste, We had a fish supper which was grey, soggy and also had a very off putting smell and was all left, I had a chicken supper which tasted ok however I’m not looking forward to the next few hours. We will never be back, absolutely bogging, avoid at all costs

I visited this place on 11th Aug, whilst spending a couple of hours in Callander, I bought a hamburger supper, the chips where reheats and the hamburger, I couldn't eat at all, it looked like pork, it was a funny colour, also I found what looked like a thread from a tea towel at the bottom of my box,it was disgusting but I was too far away by then to take it back, I wouldn't eat there again.

I ordered 2 haddock suppers and a some southern fried chicken and a chicken pakora hoagie with chips and juice! Delicious hot food good portions! Chicken pakora hoagie with garlic sauce was so scrumptious!

Ordered 2 single fish and a large chips and all were really poor. The second worst fish and chips I have ever purchased. Fish was not fresh in taste, batter soggy and poor quality. Chips were running in grease and tasteless. Most of it ended up in the bin. There are decent choices for fish and chips in Callander. This is not one of them.

I go to Bruno's around once a week. The people that work there are very friendly. The food is great value. I usually have sausage supper, my other half has a kebab and those hot peppers and my son has chips with cheese. All good yummy tasty food. There is an extensive menu - pizzas, kebabs, fish suppers burgers, all sorts. Don't usually have to wait long even when they're really busy. I've read some of the poor reviews on here and I can't figure out these people. Particulary 'Kurtyeschef' who was clearly rude in the first place to the poor girl working there. Anyhow, I will continue to go there every week! There are lots of regulars so that should speak volumes :) I live in Thornhill and we have no takeaways, so I travel 16 miles round trip for their food. Thanks Brunos!

Back home from work and Bruno’s fish bar was actually my second choice as memos didn’t have any kebabs.. I ordered two kebabs for me and my father, when I arrived to pick them up I was confronted by a snotty teenage girl around 15yrs old, who told me I only ordered one, I apologised and said your ill informed I ordered two. So she huffed and puffed and went to the man making kebabs who said it won’t be long. When I finally got our meals the child rolled her eyes at me and swore under her breath when all I did was politely ask for a bag. When we finally got home to eat them, they were dry without sauce and looked like they were put threw a blender. As being a chef for over ten years ( a proper chef ) I am disgusted how me and my father were treated. Will not be back again, and expect a visit from EHO because the whole establishment was disgusting.

After a few dodgy bellies. Avoided for a few months... Decided to give it another shot. Ordered a Margherita thinking surley it won't make me ill...... How wrong.... So much tomato sauce made the base ridiculously soggy... Cheese as cheap and greasy as you can get.... Deffy never giving it another shot unless they get new owners.. only upside chips were ok...

Stopped this evening for a fish supper it was disgusting. The batter was soggy, the fish was tasteless and the chips were awful. Never again. Should have just put my money straight in the bin then I would not have this horrible aftertaste.

Had a fish supper here recently and has to be one of the worst I've ever had... Fish was utterly shocking, horrible soggy, chewy batter, and went in the bin...if you like a nice quality fish supper avoid at all costs!!!!

Had a few takeaways from here now and must say since the new owners took over it has gone drastically downhill. Everytime i have a kebab a get an upset stomach, the prices have gone up but the quality has gone down. Recently ordered a mixed pakora with no flavour to it, to be one piece short, the vegetable pakora tasted burnt and dry with no flavour and have no sauce with it, well over cooked and could actually knock someone out with it. The haggis pakora used to be my favourite however when i got them, also burnt, dry no flavour and were a quarter the size from previous, used to be my favourite takeaway but won’t be ordering from here again as i am massively disappointed in the lack of quality and portions. Prices need to be lowered to match the “quality”

Have to say thank m never impressed with this local chippy. The food is always way to greasy, I know it's a chippy but it's dripping. The calamari are more like onion rings and the chips limp.

We were just driving through Callander and fancied some Chip Shop Chips and were not disappointed. They weren't massively friendly, but that's not a massive problems. The chips were very tasty and just what we wanted - and not a bad price either!If you're in the area it's definitely worth a quick stop.

Wir waren auf der Suche nach einem schnellen abebendlichen Snack und sind auf Grund des regnerischen Abends hier eingekehrt.Zuerst waren wir überrascht, daß es keine Sitzplätze gab. In der Warmhalte Auslage lagen schon einige Speisen.Wir hatten uns dann für nicht vorbereitete chicken Nuggets, Chicken wings, Cheeseburger und nd Pizza entschieden.Die Pizza war ganz ok.Die Chips entsprachen genau dem Foto, welches hier schon geposted wurde. Dunkel und nicht knusprig. Der Cheeseburger ging auch gar nicht.Die Nuggets und die Chicken Wings waren ok.Wir werden uns das nächste Mal einfach mehr Zeit für die Auswahl des Abendessens nehmen.Hier werden wir bestimmt nicht mehr essen.

We're regular (weekly at least) munchers on take away treats from Bruno's. They have a great variety, all of which hits the spot every time. We really enjoyed pizzas recently and have a fairly regular doze of chicken pakora suppers, large fish suppers, King rib suppers, smoked sausage suppers, the works. Always great, good portions, tasty cuts and cheerful, friendly service to boot.

Absolutely disgusting we are locals who use brunos on reg basis but we will not be back due to the inedible chips.

Teneis una variedad muy amplia pero como solo estuvimos dos días en callander no nos dio tiempo a probar mas, el lugar siempre tiene gente, y no solo turistas,.

So when it was under the last management it was vile. However it was taken over by the new management and I decided to give it a go. The first time I gave it a go it was really nice I was surprised by how much of an improvement it was. I went back again and it wasn't so great, very greasy etc. However I hoped it was a one off, so ordered again tonight. Big mistake whole lot is in the bin ! My husband and my father who was visiting binned it too and advised it was disgusting. It actually tastes identical to the previous owners. The chips take horrid like the oil is dirty or something is going wrong as it should not taste like this. We will never ever be back. Sadly they started off good but have very rapidly went down hill.

We are italians and the take away pizza is very good.. Like in italy! (in fact the place is managed by three italians) Also fish and chips is fantastic. We also tasted haggis.. And it was a surprise for us.. It was good!

Magic food and staff, we were up in Doune for the day & decided to travel onto Callander for fish & chips etc. Queue right out the door. Highly recommended.

On holiday here and thought we would try due to not a great experience with the other chippy in the town. We were not disappointed! The fish and chips were really tasty and a good portion size.

new management since January 23, 2017, we introduced new products, new products, new menu, short delivery service, card machine service and other features ....

Staff are very very nice, Ginger boy behind the counter was excellent, cant wait for the new menu I was talking to the lovely man behind the counter about, food tastes lovely and prices are absolutely perfect all round lovely people and very welcoming. X

Hands down the worst fish and chips i've ever had. Fish was poor, chips were harassed looking and soggy. My kids, who like most kids, will eat any fried food, left their anemic sausages in limp batter and after tasting them i can't say I blame them.I work in the trade and I can tell the fat in the friers hasn't been changed since God came down to Moses. Stick to pizza's gents. Anywhere that sells a 'Fish & chip Calzone' has issues.

The worst choppy I've ever had went straight in the bin as did my husbands. The oil needs changed and properly cleaned out. I am shocked they're serving food like this, I will never return it was that bad.

Had a sausage supper the chips were really soft with black speckles all over them clearly the oil has not been changed and the sausage was mush and the batter had no crunch will not return

I hate leaving bad reviews or complaining but this food was horrible. Me and my friends spent nearly £30 and not one of us enjoyed our food. Fish and chips were really greasy and the chips were bland, no taste at all. The steak pie was hard and dry as if it had been sitting there for hours. Friends also got fish and they didn't even eat it, we fed it to the seagulls and were really annoyed we spent so much and didn't even eat it. Avoid and visit one of the other chip shops in callander.

Friendly service, great chip shop food cooked to order, good pizzas too. A regular weekly treat for our household, just grand!

Great menu and selection all made to order ie: pizza's, Kabab's and a really good selection of everything that you would expect from a really good chip shop plus that little bit more!!

We called in here for a take away on way back from Perth at nightThere was not much on offer apart from a few batterd sausages and piesWe asked is that all you have got and the person said yes but was a bit reluctant to offer anything elseThe chips were very soggy and the pie seemed as if it had been there ALL evening The batterd sausage was nothing specialSadly to say we wont be calling here again

Cold, Greasy,stodgy and miserable staff, have been a few times and each time I think this time it'll be good and each time I'm left dissappointed and feeling like crap. Much better takeaways in town

I can say without any hesitation that this is the most awful kebab I have ever had, and over the years have had many late night kebabs. We actually passed this place earlier in the evening and, as there was a decent queue, we assumed that this was a good place to get supper. How wrong we were!As is often the case with premises that try to do everything from fish and chips to pizza and kebabs, they sometimes aren't particularly good at either - this is certainly the case here re the kebabs. Perhaps the best way to explain this is to outline what I expect from a kebab shop.Normally in a proper kebab shop you will see chilled trays with skewers of marinated lamb, chicken or kofte, all looking incredibly fresh and appetising.You don't get that here. All you have to go on here is the menu that offers chicken and mixed kebabs as well as the ubiquitous donner. We chose the mixed kebab.Getting back to what you might expect in a proper kebab house. In good kebab shops they will then cook your chosen kebab in front of you and then, as they are preparing to wrap it in the freshly warmed pitta, they will ask you what salad you want, and whether or not you want chilli sauce, garlic sauce or whatever.You don't get that here.In this place you have no actual idea of where the meat is coming from and what you finally get is a pizza box containing whatever your mixed kebab has to offer, and the only question re accompanying condiments was whether you want vinegar on your chips!But hey let's not be too negative - service might not be traditional, but the meal might be a pleasant surprise. Perhaps the mystery meal will be an unexpected culinary delight?You don't get that here.What we discovered on opening our pizza box after a brisk two minute walk home was a mound of cold donner ribbons. On reflection I realised that when we ordered the kebab nobody turned the elephant leg on, so it was clear that what we got was stuff that had been hanging around for a while. In addition we had a few bits of forgettable chicken that had probably been reheated in a microwave, along with mixed salad and chips. As far as tasty sauces are concerned, they were conspicuous by their absence.I really love kebabs. When properly done they can be wonderful. Even relatively ordinary ones can be tasty, especially after a beer or two. But this one takes kebabs to another level completely. This is simply poorly prepared food stuck into a box with no particular concept or care for preparation, presentation or customer satisfaction, and is without doubt the worst excuse for a kebab I have ever had.But perhaps we were just unfortunate in our choice. Maybe they are good at fish and chips? But why risk it? Reckon I'd go to one of the proper fish and chips shops instead.Or maybe their pizzas are good? But why risk it when you have Mimo's just along the road and another Italian not much further away? So the only niche market they have here is kebab. Might I suggest that they concentrate their efforts in trying to get that right?Nothing else to say really.

went here on Friday night had a white pudding supper and a haggis supper buttered roll.had to ask for the roll to be changed as it was stale and hard.chips were horrible tasting swimming in grease.roll was disgusting stale and horrible margarine.white pudding was nice haggis very bland.very dissapointing

My girls loved the fish & chips we ate there when we arrived in Callander it was delicious and good quality!

This is a real hard to beat take-away. Fresh food, not greasy like some close by. Well priced. The battered fish really takes some beating.

Very good selection of things to choose from and the service is usually pretty quick. The prices are very good considering the portions that you receive.
