Broadway Chippy in Walsall

My mom ordered food for us. She is disabled cause I opened door as I’m quicker on my feet then she is. I got a load of verbal abuse thrown at me by the so called driver who I was then told is the owner. If that is how he treats customers he needs more training as he has no people skills and all could do was swear at me.

Extortionate price £7 for a "large" chips which was more like a regular anywhere else...

Today I had spicy fish bites. I remember couple years ago when I used to live in the area when they have been so delicious but today they have been disgusting. 20% max of fish rest just dough end at the end found bit of plastic sponge between my teeth. something must have changed here over the years

Great place and the spicey fish bits are lovely. The chips with Chicken curry is a bargain at £4.95 and the Donner meat is one of the best I have had

Absolutely impeccible experience!! Our first time here and I couldn’t recommend them more. Food was good value and beautiful. Staff were beyond helpful and friendly even giving us a sample of some fish bites just because we said they looked nice. Never left somewhere feeling more positive and will 1000% be returning. Thanks all!!

So disappointed. Spent around £40 altogether for rotten, stale and burnt chips! I don’t know how they think it’s acceptable to give this to paying customers. Would they accept this if they bought it? I highly doubt it. I don’t think I’ll be returning.

Nice food at good price and lovely lady serving , making me laugh and realise that the fork I have in the van needs more than a wipe with blue roll to clean

Just been to collect our food ordered 3x donner wrap meals and a battered sausage meal just like to say it was amazing food was the best we have had in a while will definitely be using you again and staff was lovely too xxx

Either it was a rat i saw or a big mouse around the chippy where the donner was..told the manager (after his son ran off to the back) an he said "it must of been quick because its not there now" ... an then neither was i.....gone.....

Hadn't tried the Broadway chippy for a few years, we noticed a recent "Top ten chippies" review which it had made it in to. The shop was nice and clean. Third in the queue. We wanted a fish and a fish and chips both with mushy peas. ( not a mini fish special) A twenty minute wait for the fish to be cooked. ( Saturday night). Pleasant staff and owner. The was fish were £6 each and can only be described as mini fish size, batter was nice. Chips were cooked through but looked pale compared to other chippies. Mushy peas were good. Overall a disappointing experience. We will go back to our usual chip shop were £5.70 for a cod is value for money. You get a free brown paper bag to put your individual wrapped fish and chips in too.

I ordered Donner meat n chips with salad the Donner meat was cold n chips were cold,and Donner meat in pitta bread was cold ,ordered for ,5pm came ten minutes tatet

Very yummy. Ordered two cod and chip meals last night for delivery, arrived (in 45 minutes) hot, fresh and very crispy. Best fish and chips in Walsall and we’ve tried several. Highly recommend.

Good quality tasty food at a price few could argue with. This chippy has been here for many years and has a reputation for great food. The staff are friendly and helpful. The shop is very clean and covid concious The range is excellent and new items can drop onto the menu anytime! Parking is tight but there is always a space

Best fish and chips I've ever had in the Midlands. Fish was crispy and tasted amazing. Chips - bang on.. not too greasy and very fresh. Was very very surprised by how good this was given Walsall's fairly shoddy reputation for quality Scran. Reminds me of the good stuff you get on holiday in Cornwall or Wales. Bostin'!

Owner delivered food, had very bad attitude as he didn't like that he had to bring it to my door in a two story flat. Would not recommend ordering if you don't live in an house.

Food is good no doubt and that's why I have put in 1 star, however the attitude of the manager is rude with one female staff who is slightly better but noone value their customers. They treat you like they're doing favours on you. Today is the last day I'm having a chippy from here as was left with not much of the choice due to time.

For the price of £4.30 for mini fish and chips, I expected quality and a large portion, I was disappointed with both quality and quantity.

Been going here for years but feel the food is not so tasty anymore. Prices are creeping up and up ... thought l been overcharged when l got home but looking at the website, l have only been overcharged 20p. Should have been £8.40 and was charged £8.60! The same meals were only £6.20 a while ago and less than a fiver when l first went there. They used to charge a different price if your peas were on top rather than in a pot and the meals were always tastier/good value but can't say that now. Maybe they are using a different oil or something but something isn't right. No crispyness to the chips or fish batter. Getting too expensive now for what should be a value meal. Chappie who owns it is lovely and friendly and never had a problem with Staff but sorry mate, won't be coming again. Too expensive/a bit cheeky in my opinion!

People were raving on about how good this place was. I tried it today but to be fair I felt it could've been better. I had a small fish and chips but I think the chips were too thick and greasy.. the fish was ok but nothing I will remember for too long.

To expensive and small portions

Order from here regularly, often have missing items but we usually overlook this because we enjoy the food, however today was an exception. We received our order and found once again an item missing, we phoned to get it rectified to which the member of staff was adamant it was not on their receipt when it was on ours. We decided to go to the store to sort it out and show her our receipt, she tried to blame Just eat but when I managed to catch a glimpse of her full receipt, the item was clearly there. Upon confronting her about this, she replies 'well that's not my fault'. Well love, who's fault is it? I didn't make the food or put the order together. You did. So who's fault is it? So with that customer service and attitude I will never be ordering again

Shocking - thought the Mini fish special was reasonably priced got home to find the fish was more like a Cod bite over cooked & couldn't separate from the excess amount of batter

Just ordered a mini fish and chip special and mixed kebab meat and chips at 15:30 bank holiday Monday, 27th August 2018. Excellent choice on menu but none of the food we had was fresh or piping hot, chips were luke warm at best, the batter on the fish nice but the fish itself wasn't great, best way I can describe it is as stodgy. The mixed kebab meat was cold and hardly the most generous of portions for circa £5.00, I should have told the mrs to tell them to take it straight off the machine! All in all not great and will not be returning, it may well be better when busy but surely should have a decent level of quality through out the day if open all day!

The vegan 'vish and chips' was incredible... A large piece of tofu wrapped in seaweed before being deep fried. It flakes just like real fish and tastes a little like crab sticks but much nicer. Seriously amazed that I've never seen a recipe for this online or anything. Highly recommend and will be a regular now! <3

Great place for quick meal sort. :-) Kebab's, burger's and the classic fish&chips. Also a new vegan menu as well. Highly recomended, verry friendly staff.

Placed my order over the phone and once again they got it wrong. When rang and explained the lady said it’s due to the new system she was rude and will not be ordering or going there again.

Love this place. I'm surprised I've not stumbled on it before. We usually order from here when on the late shift at work down the road. The food is always on time! They never mess up an order! NOW they do some lush vegan food too!!! (Fridays only at the moment.) All in all... Food is tasty and cheap on the wallet. Service is really friendly!!! (Even gave my kids got free lollies... So nice if the lady!) A must try for fast food! (Take away only.) Enjoy!
