I have seen over the years the evolution of this market, now so crowded. It's fine, but I think it has lost part of the essence that its former inhabitants gave it. Now Brixton is gentrified.

Still has a glimpse of authenticity. Ethnic grocery stores, a butcher, a fishmonger, a few fruit stalls, live together with trending restaurants and shops. It is not going to last for long but it still has a particular atmosphere.

When at Brixton village please check out shop 82 on the fifth Avenue

Lively bustling scene out here for a Saturday afternoon. The drinks at the bar opposite fish wings and tings was a vibe. The bar girls were entertaining and made the drinks tasty. The paloma and ginger beer cocktails were delicious. Fish wings and tings had good service, lots of choice, quick food. Had the oxtail stew and rice, shrimp roti, aloo pie and split pea fritters. Food was very filling a bit heavy, good spot to eat if you enjoy trying new foods . Aloo pie dressing was delicious. Not quite the Trinidad taste but enjoyable overall.

The whole market was very busy. DJ Playing Loud music Lots of people around lots of places to eat in....Quite exciting place to be....

There has been quite a change down here over the years , for better or worse there are a lot of interesting traders these days with global cuisine available . I had an empanada from an Argentinian place and then a snack from a Chinese cafe . Worth visiting if you're in the area

Lovely market! Great atmosphere, a wide variety of restaurants, cafes and shops to pick from. A good spot to meet up with friends and family plus very aesthetic.

Beautiful place, lots of small artisan and non-artisan shops, full of colorful DJs, many places to eat and taste specialties from various nations, I personally ate in a very small Ethiopian tavern, initially I was very sceptical, but I changed my mind when faced with the goodness and so much kindness of the lady owner. I recommend visiting the entire BRIXTON neighborhood

We arrived a little late around 11 p.m. on a weekday, there were only a few restaurants still open, too bad I think the market must be very nice when it's busy. We will come back. The alleys are very pretty, we walked around all the same, graffiti and facades always very atypical and interesting to observe.

Brixton market is my.Saturday shopping one of the main attractions ofy weekend where i get my.meat fish and veg and all my Caribbean food to keep me happy and not get home sick 😂

If you're in Brixton, you have to go. It smells delicious, there are shops that have been preserved here since the 90s. There are places for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can find cocktails, beer and nice wines. You can even ask for oysters to be opened and eaten right at the counter. reference!

This place amazes me. Complete variety of every global cuisine imaginable. I remember not all that long ago all you could get in here was smack or your wallet stolen.

Excellent food....HORRIBLE SERVICE. THREE TIMES OUT OF FIVE..DISGUSTING SERVICE...Last night at 7:17pm, I arrived and Ordered a whole chicken for takeaway with a waiter. The waiter told me seatdown and in 5 minutes will be ready. At 7:45 I went to the counter to ask why my order was not ready after 28 minutes...I called the waiter who took my order, and the waiter confronted the chef, and the chef said he forgot to cook my whole chicken order...and is the Third time in a year...I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT NEVER TO ANYONE....DISGUSTING SERVICE..

Alternative area with a Caribbean atmosphere in London. 20 minutes from central London. You have to see it.

25/10/24: Hemel Hempstead and Brixton Weekend! Had such a fantastic time here at Brixton Market. So many culinary cuisines from all around the world. The market full of colourful characters too. A fantastic place for people watching, while drinking and eating!
