Lovely little coffee shop/bar. It's not too expensive, not very big but great for a couple, and watch the world go by.

Great independent coffee shop. Nice staff and great tasting coffee. Limited space inside, some tables outside. Of an evening it also turns into a bar.

Not a great selection to eat and I asked for a menu of what's on offer and was told its what you see in the cabinet. I expect a menu to chose from not to try and read through a cabinet what's already been prepared. Had a coffee and left to find a cafe that had a menu to chose from.

Coffee is always amazing in this place strong and aromatic.

This place racially discriminate against discriminates disabled people also. I needed to you the as I have a condition that affects my bladder. I went into the establishment and asked to use their facilities. I was told by a member of staff that she thinks the toilet is broken, I said you think the toilet is broken? Its either broken or it's not I left there understanding that the colour of my skin is why I wasn't allowed to use their facilities For me that's disgusting in 2024 racism is alive and kicking it's head in that place I intend to trend this all over Instagram and twitter because that's unfair she was a Polish woman. If I was able to give it no stars I would disgusting racist establishment

Decent iced coffee for a summers day.

4 stars for the coffee, the best I tried in London, 1 star for the water that accompanied it which smelled. Nice environment. 1 star for the service since you order at the counter and have to bring the order to the table yourself. Nice environment

Beautiful interior and a wide selection of delicious coffee

Aside from the great coffee, it's the pleasant experience I have with the staff which brings me back each time. In particular, Natalia. She's a credit to the Caffe! Before I even get to the counter my usual coffee is already being prepared. She remembered my usual order after only 2 visits! This isn't something I'd ever expect, especially in a busy coffee shop in central, but it's something I and many others greatly appreciate.

The staff made a mistake with my order but they didn't apologize. A lady who made coffee even showed an obviously annoyed expression. On top of that, the coffee was watery and didn't taste good at all. I wonder why this place has a lot of good reviews.

Hot chocolate is amazing. Billionaire shortbread is very good. Excellent cafe.

Very disappointed to be served a tepid coffee. Great flavour but tepid. In asking for it to be heated the barista snapped that it is the right temperature, other coffee shops get it wrong. This is bad customer service. These are thoughts she may have but the customer should not hear them. Insulting to be challenged in this way I asked discreetly.

Came in to get a quick latte, admittedly with a couple of modifications (iced vanilla latte with oat milk, decaf). As an ex-barista myself, I don't usually order it that way if a cafe is busy, as I know it's a mouthful. Seeing as it was utterly dead, didn't think it would be an issue. Didn't stop the two baristas manning the bar from acting like I just asked them to roast the coffee beans from scratch in front of me. Bug-eyed expressions of disbelief and smirks with a couple of "I can't remember all of that" type of comments thrown in, plus a send-off that seemed rather mocking. Considering these are all modifications available for an extra charge, I'm not sure what the fuss was about -- £5.50 for a drink is expensive enough, not sure if good customer service is an extra charge on top of that? Decided to come here instead of Pret because the coffee is amazing. But I think I'll save both myself and the baristas here the headache next time.

Lovely place for a quick breakfast, although not many seats available inside and it's busy before 9 am weekdays. Pistachio croissant was delicious.

An amazingly cosy and lovely place with wonderful staff and service. As soon as I received my freshly made coffee, I dropped it on the floor and the lovely baristas made me a second one as a courtesy. I loved the taste and the overall experience! Thank you so much and I shall be back!

Caffé Vergnano, now rebranded to Brew Garden, has always been my favourite because they have the original Italian THICK hot chocolate :) Yes, I always have it with wipped cream.

Italian mix with beer and coffee in the same place. Nice location too in this half timbered building. There is outdoor seating. The cappuccino was good, I liked the touch with the dusted on type. There are alternative milk types available, but soya also commands a 40p surcharge. I think soya should be free as it is not a choice for people who are lactose intelorant.

First visit! Enjoyed a latte and tiramisu at this cafe, decent but nothing extraordinary. The location is convenient, right outside the tube station. It's worth noting that there's no table service. Overall, a solid spot for a quick coffee fix.

Love their thick Italian hot chocolate!!! Molten chocolatey goodness. Such a generous cup of it, perfect for a cold winters day.

A great place to work / take a snack break. Right outside Chancery Lane tube station. Very cosy and good taste interiors. Clean toilets downstairs. Staff was really friendly and even brought the drink to my table, as it was hard to get out from my table. They regularly came to clear the table. Coffee and cake is quite average, but I came more for the space.

I usually meet my friend for some coffee or cocktails here, always great service and quality drinks. I really enjoy the atmosphere of the place.

Wonderful coffee, open till 10pm when everything is else shuts at 6! Lovely friendly service. Must try the terrace in better weather!

Tasty coffee and good atmosphere

Excellent little coffee shop right by Chancery Lane underground. Great little atmosphere inside with very friendly staff. Lovely and clean throughout and the croissants were amazing. The little coffee bean in chocolate was a nice little freebie. Overall an awesome coffee spot and will always pop in when nearby.

Came in at 10:06 for espresso — they were still serving beer and wine for new patrons who walked in (door was open with the open sign on it and google maps confirmed they close at 11), but the staff told me they were closed which was evidently because they didn’t want to dirty their equipment before closing as they’d just cleaned it. If you’re not going to serve your “rated best espresso in London” at all hours you are, don’t advertise your hours to be as late as they are.

Extremely rude staff! My friend came in and asked to charge their phone briefly due to a medical emergency. The staff member simply replied to say they don't do table service and then kicked them out! We had been coming here for years but unfortunately this has left a terrible taste and we are now boycotting it.

Oh yes. A great coffee place with sweet treats, I was admirably served by Bruno and Maria and enjoyed a comfortable break from the hustle and bustle of the city. The coffee was superb and set me up for an afternoon of meetings. Loved it and the staff too. Will make it a regular when I'm in Holborn.

Best coffee in London and best I’ve had outside of Italy. 1882 beans on an Elektra machine makes for delicious espresso drinks.

Used to be one of my favorite coffee shops in London, was sad to see they had to close the caffès near Charing Cross during the pandemic. Happy to have found one that one shop in London survived! Their Italian hot chocolate is particularly my favorite!

Really lovely little coffee shop with truly good coffee it was nice to stop here on the way to the station after deciding to do the long walk between covent gardens and Liverpool Street station The staff seemed a bit deflated when we were there but I think we had arrived after a bit of busy point and the service was still perfectly fine Much much better coffee than the nearby Nero!

I feel like Caffè Vergnano has changed a lot over the past years. It’s no longer a proper coffee place, instead it aspires to also function as a bar, but I feel the two don’t converge well. Not much choice in the bakery section, the coffee is still good, but the atmosphere is not so much that of a cosy coffee place anymore.

I came here for breakfast. I had a coffee, pain raisin, and trecolore. The coffee is good, the pain raisin was super dry and stale, and the trecolore was not great. I would come again for the coffee, but that’s about it. The pasties look good, but it’s most likely not fresh.

Am so thankful this branch is still open, after the one on Charing Cross road closed down. Still the best hot chocolate in London, nothing else comes close (Cafe concerto is a good second option however) Recommend the indulgent whipped cream to top it off. Bliss!

Nice venue. No hot drinks after 6 pm when ok pizzas are served — tea alongside pizzas would be a nice addition

I had the tomato sorrentina and it was splendid! Their espresso is bold, deep and aromatic. The staff is immensely warm and friendly—especially the handsome exuberant guy who seems to know every customer and invites them with his smile.

A true little gem! So happy I found this place - very cosy and the cappuccino was delicious. One of my ever favourites in London now ♥️

I'll definitely be coming back, the espresso was excellent. Smooth, very invigorating, and servers with some water. And they have alcohol as well so I'll definitely be trying an Irish coffee there some other day.

Eventhough the coffee is good, the service is not that great. I was just refused to have my take away coffee be poured in my take away coffee mug. No explanation - just 'no'. This is absolutely unacceptable in Central London in 2022. Trying to be environmentally friendly and being refused. This is not the policy that a self-praising coffee shop should be having.

Heavily recommend the chocciolata. If you've got the stomach for it, go with the regular size. If delicious, dreamy, dense, dark chocolate in liquid form can be too much you might want the small size. Enjoy the espresso with the water, and savour the flavour of each mouthful. Yum.

Tried my first ever thick, classic hot chocolate and I am obsessed! 100% recommend. The ambiance and vibe of this place so also lovely and comfortable, perfect for studying in the day, followed by a couple Aperol’s in the evening. Convenient too!! Will defo be back x

This was a quick pop in for a coffee and croissant prior to a business meeting. Not great value for money but OK.
