I would give this a 3.5 if I could as it was better than average (3/5) but not very good (4/5). Our starters (the asparagus and the lamb croquette) were ok. Both had eggs that tasted quite bland, and the asparagus portion size was very small. At a price of £8 and £10 respectively, we expected more. Our mains were much better, both the plaice and pea/mint risotto. Good portion sizes and good taste, couldn't fault these dishes. With the dessert, back to that feeling of disappointment we had when the starters arrived. The £8 lime glazed tart was ridiculously small, and the roasted banana ice-cream that came with it frankly tasted like a regular vanilla ice-cream. Overall, the entire meal was ok, but too expensive given the sizes of the starters and desserts.

Very overpriced food with little taste. The only good thing about it was the wine and dessert. And the staff

The meals we had were delicious. And such a lovely gesture to start with an "amuse bouche" - delicieuse! TO begin we had a variety from the menu, my chicken terrine was delicious and generous... the tuna carpaccio was the star though. THe pigeon a little too gamey for our liking. The sea bass deserves special mention, as does the steak. Lovely reasonably priced wine list. The desserts were not so amazing sadly, though the chocolate hazlenut delice was yummy. Strawberry cheesecake a little ordinary and the rhubarb baked alaska not strongly flavoured enough. BUt all in all a delicious meal, served by charming staff.

Loved the chicken - very tasty and plenty of it - none of this 'nouvelle cuisine'! an unusual baked Alaska with rhubarb - scrumptious!

Same Retirement ' do' as previous two reviews - How they can justify calling it 'Afternoon tea' is totally beyond me.Thick doorstep sandwiches (5 between 6 people!) followed by one plate of squashed up bits of cake. It was totally unacceptable. I have never experienced anything quite like it, they should be ashamed of themselves.

We dined here during a Groupon spa break on a spring Sunday evening. Having booked a table for 7:00pm we decided to arrive early for a pre-dinner drink opting for a bottle of the house champagne which was excellent. We picked three courses from a set menu which offered enough variance. I ordered the starter of duck and my partner order the pork belly, both were delicious and really enjoyable. Following our starters we were startled a couple of times by the fire alarm but we reassured by the waiting staff that test were ongoing, which seemed a little odd on a busy Sunday evening when no effort was made to clear the restaurant. Once this had stopped we were served a little amuse bouche and speciality home made breads which were divine. For our mains, we both opted for the sirloin of beef, one cooked medium rare and one cooked medium. Unfortunately the waiter misheard my request of medium rare for medium well, however the error was rectified efficiently. The dish was delicious, although served a little tepid for my liking and still over cooked, still I persevered and enjoyed the dish. Another mix up ensued with our dessert order. My partner ordered the brownie but was not appetites by the peanut butter ice nor peanuts and so requested it be replaced with vanilla ice cream. The request was accepted but disappointedly was not achieved by the service. Again the error was rectified and compensated. I went for the pistachio sponge which was again delicious. The food here is excellent but we felt there were certain lapses with the waiting staff, albeit they were quickly mitigated.

We went there for a family meal and had a fabulous time. The Brasserie is in the rolling Welsh hills with fantastic views and the food is all very authentic. I had the scallops and the lamb and it was the best I've tasted in a while. The service was excellent and our little waiter Aidy was both funny and polite. We had coffee in the garden to top off a lovely evening. Would recommend to anyone and will definitely return 5✨

Nice food but a bit too designer style for me and the serving wasn't very big. There was a complimentary pate plate "from the chef" which was very nice and the meal was served with a warm roll. Service was a little slow but this restaurant is more about the dining experience. Great for a special celebration.

The foods and staff services were beyond my expectation. If you are staying the Kinmel hotel, don't go anywhere else and eat here!
