Only looks like a village shop from the front but inside there's plenty of tables and a lovely garden. Never imagined that I would get excited about a sausage sandwich but the sausages were perfectly cooked and the sourdough bread was great.

Lovely kind ladies (made a fuss of our little dog) and amazing food - we had two top quality bacon/sausage and egg barms (so tasty!), and outstanding coffee in an utterly magical setting sitting outside. We will definitely return as it was a memorable visit. Highly recommended 10/10. Thank you x

We have greatly enjoyed the experience in the past. However, the last few times that we have turned up, we have been told the food had finished early and only drinks and cakes were available. Whilst pleasant, it was not why we visited! If you want repeat business, you need to practice what you advertise, especially when your repeat customers turn up with young children… Next time, we’ll have to consider the other two cafes in Chipping or just go elsewhere!

Walking round Chipping, and needed somewhere for lunch. Having wandered past this cafe earlier in the morning we thought we'd try it for lunch. And we were really glad we did! The food was plentiful and of a high quality, and the cafe itself was a really nice setting (as it was a sunny day there was a choice of outdoor and indoor seating (we elected to go indoors out of the sun). Sausage and bacon barms ordered - they came stuffed with filling, but we did have a little space for the cake (of which there was a good choice). All in all, we can't recommend this cafe highly enough!

Loved the cafe and the shop. As a first time visitor I popped in for some eggs and a few bits. Got freshly laid Duck Eggs and stayed for 2 flat whites, blackcurrant crumble cake and a bacon butty. My friend and I had just done a wet windy walk so wanted to get warm in a cage in Chipping. We couldn't find anywhere open as it was a Monday. We headed down to the pub but noticed Brabins next door. It was warm and cosy with log fire. The food was lovely. Would recommend the Portuguese tarts. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We will be back after our next walk!

We walked across to Chipping from the Inn at Whitewell in August during the one of the hottest weeks of the year. We had be told there were two pubs in the village and at least one of them was certain to be open. Sadly neither were - so we ducked into the tea room instead. It was wonderful. Far better than any pub. Drinks of all shapes and sizes were available and in the space of an hour we cleared off several bottles of San Miguel, a Cookie Milkshake and an incredible Butter Pie! The staff/owners were lovely and engaging and the outdoor seating area was a delight. Will definitely come again. :-)

Visited this cafe some weeks ago while out with friends on a cycle ride. We ordered paninis and coffee which were good. Sadly the only had an outside toilet which was filthy and had not been cleaned in a long time. Furthermore the hot water tap didn’t work at all. As I returned to the cafe, I trod in one of the many likes of dog poo scattered about the garden area. This was very offputting and unheigenic. I will not be recommending this place to my cycle club and will not be returning again!

A cold, wet Bank Holiday which led to a ride out to Chipping and the discovery of this lovely cafe. A small but interesting choice of cakes but the highlight, if the weather had been clement, was the tea garden. A large lawned area with plentiful seating and lovely surroundings. We were on a weekend walk and popped in for a warming drink. We had the Labrador with us and having asked if we could bring him in, we could and thanks, most appreciated. The staff indicated we could and sit down with him under the table. Ordered drinks and food, which was brought to the table by a very pleasant lady. Both drinks and food were excellent on the way out I found that the cakes and scones etc were home made and were excellent. Oh by the way the Lab got a few treats and he was pleased. All in all an excellent and welcome venue!!

We read the reviews before visiting... can't believe it is the same place. Staff were friendly and food was merely ok, but there was massive room for improvement. The cafe was far from warm, full of 'for sale' signs on all the stock, and definitely avoid the outhouse toilet. Such a shame, as there's a great opportunity for someone to run it well and make a great living from it - just put all the 'tat' in a skip (or sell it on ebay, not in the cafe), replace the 'shop' with more cafe tables, get rid of the chinz and replace with the nice bunting already around. If the staff have to smoke, do it out of sight of the customers (cigarettes and food preparation aren't usually an appetising combination). Pop round to 'Bashall Barn' to get ideas on how to display cakes, get some proper heat into the place and make it work as a destination for visitors, walkers and cyclists - all looking for a nice place to eat! We could of course just go elsewhere but would prefer to give some constructive feedback and get Brabin's operating successfully. Let us know when it is transformed and we'll definitely be back.

Very warm and welcoming, the owners were so kind they even extended their usual opening hours to accommodate us, which was much appreciated. The afternoon tea is a veritable feast with boxes provided for left-overs, of which there were plenty! Vegetarian and dietary needs were also happily catered for. Seems small at first on the outside but it extends out at the back so you can enjoy your food & drink while watching goats, hens & rabbits. If you can book ahead, they will have everything ready for you & treat you like special guests. Nice shop to visit too. Very deserving of your business. Thank you for looking after us so well.

This little shop and tea room was a delight. We were staying in the caravan site nearby and called in on Sunday morning to see if they had a newspaper. We caught a glimpse of the tea garden through the shop and decided to stop for a pot of tea. The tea was nicely served in a teapot (not a mug of tepid water with a teabag dangling in it) but the real hidden gem is the garden. It would be a delight to children. The owner asked if we were OK with the dogs, as they have 3, but the pouches added to the atmosphere. There are rabbits, Guinea pigs, chickens, an aviary, goats and even a tortoise. There was a box of games for the children to play with and Buster the dog kept us entertained with his reaction to the Guinea pigs. Much as I'd like to keep this place to ourselves it's a business that deserves to do well as they truly cater for all the customers that visit them.

We live locally but heard that Greendale had changed ownership and wanted to try it out. We’ve since been several times for brunch and lunch and keep going back for more .. If plain menus and ordinary fare is your preference maybe it won’t suit, but if you favour culinary flair and a point of difference to the norm Greendale is definitely worth a visit. They support local producers offering a small but interesting menu. There’s always a specials variation & everything is homemade. They have an alcohol licence and even pair some of their meals with various beverages as an option. The coffee is gorgeous, & served with a little homemade shortbread… what’s not to like A little Gem right on our doorstep, with great service and ambience into the bargain! 🤗
