Boston in Belfast

I just called asking does the chow mein have sauce or is it dry. The Chinese person answering the call was very rude. I have just moved to upper cregagh road. I order Chinese minium of twice a week. But not from Boston.

Service is great, staff are friendly and helpful. Definitely worth going for a takeaway

Cada vez que recibo un chino es entre 3 chinos. Boston es uno de ellos, y los miembros de la familia piden de Boston también. 24 / 06 / 2024 yo y mi pareja pusimos en una orden y claramente declaró no verg. (La pareja tiene alergias) a lo que recibimos nuestra comida con verduras en ella, tenga en cuenta que también declaramos que no hay guisantes en la comida de los niños y eso vino bien. Llamé a la tienda para explicar la situación y pregunté si venía a la tienda ¿sería posible si pudiéramos hacernos uno nuevo a lo que se respondió: ‘no, entonces los chefs perderán dinero’? Ni siquiera habló con la chef, simplemente dijo esto en sus propios términos. Después de sentirme un poco frustrado porque no estaban dispuestos a hacer nada, terminé la llamada porque estaba claro que no se iba a hacer nada. Mi pareja tuvo que pedir a un nuevo chino que gastara más dinero. Hice que algunos me comieran yo mismo y decir que no era agradable es un cumplido. Definitivamente era comida de un chino de higiene de 1 estrella, no volveré después de esto y me aseguraré de que alguien más que menciona sobre un chino. Sabe lo malo que es el servicio / comida en los chinos de Boston. ¡Hangry y molesto!

Ordered a curry half and half with chicken balls the half and half was the worst I’ve had in a long time watered down curry chips looked undercooked always drive by Boston and say I wouldn’t mind trying it won’t be back threw it in the bin definitely not as good as people say.

This is beautiful . The lady in the kitchen though was screaming at the delivery driver right Infront of customers which I found out of order

I have loved this place as our local Chinese for years. For the last few months unfortunately, the food has not been quite the same since the chefs moved on elsewhere: 1) the chicken used in the salted chilli dishes at least seems to be rather cheap, slimy and stringy in texture; 2) the soups are now being served in rectangular plastic takeaway boxes instead of the usual polystyrene bowls; 3) the soups contain large blobs of a jelly-looking substance (resembling snot) which tastes disgusting if you are unlucky to swallow the soup without seeing it on your spoon before consuming it - I think this must be blobs from some sort of flavouring cubes which haven't fully dissolved into the soups before they have been served and I have tried more than one flavour of soup here with both flavours having the undissolved blobs. I will still continue to order food from The Boston however, and hope these little issues can be fixed. Regards.

Been a customer for years never again. The rice was kept that long in the oven it had a brown cake on the bottom it was days old you wouldn't feed it to an animal. Rather than complain because it should never have happened I will never trust this place again do so so at your peril.

We ordered delivery. The food we got was brilliant but we didn’t get one of our items and when we called they said they couldn’t send anyone out with it.

Took 1hour 40 minutes for delivery. The prawn curry was nice but the bbq ribs were awful. Tasteless went straight into the bin.

Ordered food. Only live around the corner. Was told I need to pay cash. On crutches but I will never make this mistake again. Was happy to pay by card over the phone. Be careful. Thanks. J x

I used to love coming here but the food used to be absolutely gorgeous. But called in on the off chance. Got a gravy chip for my partner and myself a chilli chip and curry. The gravy was watery and tasteless. The chips where ok not what we used to get. Either they've changed chef's or supplier.

Quick delivery. Food would of been nice had they not poured gravy all over chicken Maryland, any other Chinese I've had it from have always give gravy in an individual container. Honey chilli also pretty spicy but in all fairness I personally like it milder. Chips a bit too dry. But still not too bad

One of the nicest Chinese takeaways in Belfast! If you're hosting or live nearby then this is a must try. Staff are friendly and helpful, food is always cooked correctly and to request if there is one. I have been to and reviewed many food places and thiis is in my top 10! Skip KFC, McDonald's and burger King, this is the ultimate saturday night takeaway 👌 Will definitely be back, on friday :)

Has completely went down hill it was always my favourite place for a curry but since its been taken over its not the same and tonight I got 3 curry's and a salted chilli chicken this was for my family ....my husband spat the chicken from the curry out as he said it tasted like chemicals and my son spat out his salted chilli chicken as he said his tasted like chlorine mine was no better and left a strange taste in my mouth I didn't eat any more chicken after those 2 spat there's out also the curry was watery I've honestly never tasted something so bad I have kept going back to the boston after it was taken over giving them the benefit of the doubt but after tonight I will never be over the doors again! Vile 🤮

Food is 5 Stars here however I had the most strange issue. Family and friends have been ordering from The Boston for years with no problems at all. I simply ordered a collection on Just Eat for a Half and Half one with Satay Sauce and the other with Black Bean. I added to the notes if the sauce could be put on the side in a tub as I prefer adding my own sauce as does my fiancé. A simple request which I ask for pretty much every takeaway including the Boston many times before. However I got a phone call stating I had to pay an extra £1 per meal for sauce on the side, I was extremely confused. The money wasn’t the issue but I just couldn’t understand why getting the sauce which I had already paid for on the side in a tub as opposed too on the food itself? Makes little to no sense to me, especially considering I paid £4.30 each for a half and half. I can only imagine the 100s I, family and friends have spent here over the years without any problems. Maybe in future they will reconsider asking customers for extra money over asking for sauce on the side (Not extra sauce, the same amount I had already paid for).

Prices rising, portion sizes decreasing, get through on the phone and you can wait ten minutes for them to take your order whilst they take everyone in the shops order first!!! It used to be good, but going downhill fast!

Very nice indeed. Sweet and sour chicken balls was delicious with 7 balls cooked to perfection. Fried rice was lovely too. Will definitely be trying out the rest of the menu. Clean inside too.

First time trying the Boston. I won’t be back. I ordered chicken skewers in satay sauce. The sauce was lovely but the chicken? It was like trying to eat fibrous elastic. I have never had chicken that tough and stringy in my life! Was it even chicken, I wonder? I only managed to eat 2 of the 5 skewers, the other 3 are in the bin. I’m still picking bits of that awful meat out of my teeth….ugh!

Couldn't eat the food heart attack on a plate. Far to much salt even the kids wouldn't eat it. All you got with every fork was salt. Never again. Yuk yuk

Great wee Chinese. Really recommend the Special Fried rice. Full of delicious meats and a huge portion.

Really great curry but contains only meat and onions (not even peas). Chicken Chow Mein portion size is startlingly small.

Very disappointed. The food here has gone downhill massively. Spent 40 quid tonight. Salted chilli chip with no chilli salt! Chips very dry. Hubby had sausage supper think the gravy floated away could barely eat it too dry.

They have nice food, but would get a lot lot more custom if they kept their door open as supposed to shutting it.

Really surprised how good this place is. I'm not the biggest chines fan so when I get something really good I'm blown away. I got Singapore noodles, basically a chow main with spice and all the meats!

The Boston’s Peking Ribs are possibly the best in Belfast

Placed a phone order and two portions of the food came with no sauce. Then had to wait over 15 mins for the sauce to be delivered, by this time the food was cold.

Good staff, slightly smaller portions and no free prawn crackers but great food.

Best chicken curry ever !! Everything else tho is a disapointment ! Clean and friendly service.

Good food at a good price. Nothing spectacular though. Curry sauce has gone downhill recently. Having said that if you order the breast of chicken curry (served as a whole breast) and chips you won't be disappointed or hungry. Kung Po is very good.

Hemos llegado aquí por muchos años y nunca me han decepcionado en la calidad de la comida o la calidad o el servicio. Sin embargo, recientemente empezamos a comer vegetariano y pareció que su selección no se alejan mucho mas allá de huevo frito arroz o patatas fritas. He tenido gran comida china vegetariana antes, podría volver si comienzan a ofrecer algunas opciones más. (seguramente podrían bung algunos tofu en vez de pollo, como muchos llevar hacer)

Order at 7:38pm and told 40mins and was still waiting at 8:25 pm only ordered chicken and sweetcorn soup and chip gravy mushroom and onion took to long coming

Probamos un cambio y era realmente lo siento yo. Chili con pollo y ordenados miel sabía como un tazón de vinagre. Puedo comer de todo, pero tuve que tirar en el contenedor, ya que era totalmente comestible.

I actually travel from Lisburn Road to East Belfast to use the Chinese it's that good. It's true that on a Friday or Saturday night, it's busy, and so the best way to use it is to phone it in advance and then collect your goods. There is a wineshop right beside this place allowing you to stock up on a few bottles in the same trip - win. And the mini ribs in Peking sauce are amazing I don't know what the other reviewer was talking about. Plus I love their chips - they aren't the usual dry Chinese takeaway chips, crunchy and soft inside yum.

Decent Chinese Carryout! Pretty cheap and quite nice food. Was quite quick too which is good! Get what you pay for! Worth a visit.

Ordered ribs. Told only mini ribs left. These are obviously scrag ends. No eating in them. Made me gag. Atrocious is the only way I can describe this 'meal' I used to love the boston. Gone downhill in a big way.

I live not too far from the Boston, so would always call to order for collection. The food is great, especially their chips, and the portions are quite big! What I would say is I have ordered for home delivery when I've been at other people's homes which are further away than my own and on a couple of occassions something has been missing. When I phoned to say 2 portions of chips were missing they said " Our driver won't be up that way for another hour so you can come down and collect them." Why would I go collect when I paid for delivery?? The person on the phone didn't have great customer service! This was a year or two ago, so I hope they have changed their ways. So I'd say, the ood is great but pick it up yourself :)

Am yet to find anything that I like on the menu, they all tend to taste the same. Give it a miss

Excellent Chinese carry out. Well worth travelling for. Can be very busy so you need to phone your order through on a Friday or saturdAy night or you could be waiting.
