Full vegan, Gluten free menu and dairy free cakes, what not to like? As someone who isn’t vegan but dairy and egg intolerant, this is such a great wee cafe that I wish I’d found sooner. I really do hope the community continue to support this local business.

Wow food was unreal, which we only knew about it sooner. For those looking for a nice vegan place for lunch definitely give this place a try, I’m not vegan but for those looking for a change from eating meat. Also fry soup is the best I’ve had. Great Customer service 10/10

Lovely spot for breakfast or lunch with friends or on your own. First time here, so went myself to check it out. Relaxed atmosphere and cosy eclectic space with rustic chairs tables for 2 or 4 or more. Pleasant staff. There is a delicious, affordable assortment of vegetarian/vegan/gluten free food on the menu. I'm not vegetarian or vegan, but was delighted with the food. The squash and spinach soup was superb. The pastrami and melted cheese panini was so big I took half home, and it came with the most wonderful side salad I think I've ever tasted. Will definitely be back.

Booked a 7 night break to Tenerife at the Hard Rock hotel in Jan with BarrHead Travel Glasgow. All went very smoothly from tickets to transfers. Excellent service from the company and got the trip c£350 less than a competitor which paid for the excursions. Worth seeing Mt Tiede and Tarranga. The boat grip on the Royal Delphin to see the whales and dolphins is very good. You also see the 800m cliffs at Los Gigantos on this trip. Recommend book coach excursions as the roads - particularly in the mountains are very narrow with few passing places.

I've just been to Bluestone for the first time, and I can honestly say it's the best meal I've had this year. There was so much choice, but I settled on the macaroni and cheese, which comes with garlic bread, and I also had the chips, and it was such a delicious meal - really exceptional food. I then had the Empire Biscuit and it was superb also. The place has a really lovely vibe and decor and the beautiful gift shop downstairs is an added bonus. This is the first vegan cafe in East Renfrewshire, and I am so happy to have somewhere as fabulous as this so close to me. Now I can hardly wait for my next visit and want to work my way through the entire menu! Thank you, Bluestone, for such an amazing lunch! :)

I used to visit Bluestone Cafe a lot when I worked in Barrhead but hadn't visited in a wee while. I visited today for lunch and, as expected, was not disappointed! The food is all vegan which is great when you don't eat meat as no need to worry. We opted for paninis with a side of soup and a bowl of chips. All I can say is WOW. The soup I had was beautiful and I tried a wee bit of my partners which I didn't think I'd like as it was curried cauliflower but it was amazing! It was tasty, fresh and really filling. Also excellent value for money. We noticed quite a few customers came in close together but this was no problem for the fabulous staff, who ensured everyone was served and food was delivered promptly. I can't wait to return!! Also don't forget to peruse the beautiful gift shop downstairs. It really is one of the best places in Barrhead!

Bluestone is beyond a hidden gem. Their food is exceptionally tasty and you get big hearty portions at an inexpensive price. Their scones, cakes and ginger loaf are out of this world. I’ve had a lot of vegan chocolate sponge cake in my time and this was one of the best - far far better than some of the fancier cafes in the west end that are also much more expensive. Their coffee is almost certainly the best in Barrhead too - especially the oat flat white! The decor and space itself is lovely, always clean and very comfortable to sit in. You’ll find yourself admiring all of the beautiful pieces that are on display in the cafe from woodwork, to crystals to artwork.I used to go here 6/7 years with my mum when I lived in barrhead as I was obsessed with their hummus and red pepper panini. Their hummus is made fresh and you can tell because it’s way better than average. I have always remembered how much I loved this sandwich so when I was nearby the area on the off chance recently and needed lunch, I decided to see if they still sold the same panini. To my delight I noticed their whole menu is now plant based and when I saw this I was so happy I could cry because this used to be a part of Glasgow you couldn’t even buy a plain block of tofu in the local Tesco. So to now have such an amazing and friendly cafe offering a full vegan menu is so amazing. I live quite far away in the east of the city now but Bluestone is so good that I will definitely be making the trip through with family and friends regularly from now on. The shop downstairs is also wonderful and it’s hard not to spend loads of money every time you pass through! Also - easy to park outside and they also have a small outside eating area :)

Was reminded of Bluestone shop and cafe this week when I saw in the local newspaper that they had won the Scottish Small Retailer of the year so when my son said he would take me out for the afternoon yesterday I thought why not visit the cafe at Bluestone before heading out to do some shopping . The food was lovely, staff were too and the shop downstairs was full of lovely quirky items. I was surprised at how quiet it was but it just meant that the food came extra fast. Everything as far as I could tell was vegetarian or vegan which to be honest I would never normally choose but there was something for everyone, even me. I had the toastie with goats cheese, red pepper and pesto with a small salad, although it comes with chips and to drink I had green tea. Son had a baked potato with beans and small salad and a latte with oat milk. There were paninis and jackfruit “tuna” too and several vegan/vegetarian mains.I would definitely go back for a more leisurely visit and have some of their delicious looking cakes.

I was always a regular customer of the Bluestone Gift Shop, popping in every now and again to pick up my Yankee tea-lighters and other lovely gifts. The shop guaranteed a lovely ambience, had a relaxed atmosphere, and always offered you a warm welcome from their fantastic staff who were clearly carefully selected in order to carry through the Bluestone mantra. When they decided to extend and add a coffee shop upstairs it was a very exciting prospect and they haven't disappointed. I often take my family there for coffee, cake or a spot of lunch. The food as previously stated is always freshly prepared and of a high standard. Having had the pleasure of getting to know the owners over the years I know that Jeanette and her daughter Sara have gone to extreme lengths in sourcing their ingredients locally and from farmers and suppliers who have strict standards and criteria regarding the welfare of their animals. This is evident in the quality of their chicken, other meats and eggs. The family are almost all vegetarian or vegan but happily cater for all. Their soups in particular are always fantastic. Their paninis are lovely and they have always catered for any individual requests I've had. I love the harissa chicken filling on a hot panini with a portion of chips on the side. If we are treating ourselves we will often have a coffee and a slice of their delicious home baking. The coffee has also been carefully selected and is lovely and the kids regularly get bambinocinos which my eldest daughter Sofia often helps to make with the careful supervision of Sara. From the home baking, a personal favourite of mine is the coconut and lime cake and I have sometimes ordered a full size one for special occasions. If it is on display when you are in then you should definitely give it a try, it's fantastic. Lastly, one thing I would like to note is their family friendly atmosphere. Sara in particular is amazing with my 2 daughters 7 and 2) and always ensures that they have a great experience there, even to the extent of setting up a mini table for my daughter's 2nd table. I might be biased because I am now friends with the family but that friendship was built on regular visits to their shop and their consistently warm welcomes. It's a local gem and a family business that makes the Barrhead community very proud!

We met a friend here for lunch, I was most surprised as I have shopped in Bluestone a few times ( fab gift shop!!!) but had no idea there was an upstairs cafe!!! Great menu, lovely that my vegan daughter could make her own sandwich from the ingredients in the menu. My only gripe would be the ridiculously slow service. No excuse really as there were a couple of, quite lovely, staff on and only us and one other table of 2!!! Having worked in catering I know it does not take that long to make a few toasties!! However it was delicious when it finally arrived! The homemade soup, carrot and lentil was smooth, warming and extremely tasty and the sandwiches, in their various forms were fab albeit one had a meagre portion of goats cheese. I would Most definitely recommend this little place , with a veggie friendly menu, as long as you are not in any kind of rush!

There's even a little roof terrace at the back.Service was friendly and welcoming and the menu had a decent range of light meals like soups, toasted sandwiches, panninis and baked potatoes, which suited us perfectly. This is the worst shop ever, seems to be run by clueless teenaged girls. It is so cramped inside and when you see the prices charged you will faint. The sparkly items may look attractive in the window, but on closer inspection they are just cistume jewels ovecharged, but the handbags made of PVC total imitations of Radley yet they charge a bomb for them, watch them, if you change your mind and want a refund, you get growled at and a hand written "credit note" is flung at you as "they do not offer cash refunds" Quick to take the cash but will not refund it back. Crooks. Had such a negative experience that I would never go back.

This little gift shop has been in Barrhead for years, and sells gorgeous gifts for all occassions, along with jewellery, candles, unusual greetings cards and so on and so on. but the reason for my mentioning on tripadvisor is that I discovered they have a little coffe shop upstairs, where you can sit in or take away 'lunchtime' food. They offer various delicious and tasty unusual flavours of home made soups, sandwiches, toasties, paninis, salads and pastas. Everything is made completely fresh to order in the immaculate kitchen. You can also visit just for a speciality coffee, tea, hot chocolate or soft drink and select a chunk of home made cake from the yummy selection in the cooler. If you are passing through Barrhead or live in the vicinity, you NEED to give this little treasure a try. It is also very reasonably priced and staff are very pleasant.

We booked 2 rooms. One of them had no tv remote. Both rooms were too small for what was in them (there is no point having a desk with a chair if you can’t pull out the chair because of the bed). One of the rooms only had a single skylight which made the room feel a little claustrophobic when combined with the dark asthetic. One room was also above the hotel’s function room and heavy bass music played until past 11.30pm - not what is wanted when arriving at a hotel for a night’s sleep after a long drive. When we phoned reception we were basically told that this was our problem, although they could find us some earplugs - no offer to either move rooms or to ask the DJ to turn the bass down. As a result we did not get the relaxing evening we would have expected. The rooms above the function room should really be reserved for the party goers. Such a shame as from the outside it looked lovely.
