Really yummy food, especially the calamansi chicken wings and the dirty fried rice was soooo good!

The place is old and smell , the table was dirty , the seats was garnish on it I guess when they try to clean the table it’s just dropped and they didint noticed , toilet is right next to the table , the food is below average it’s taste ok but not how should be , I’m not blaming anyone but I had a stomach pain after the food some of them was to spicy or not hot enough, the most disturbing is the dishes what normally should come with rice like curry you have to buy the rice separately, I think if you pay £16 or £19 for a curry it should include the rice specially that the place is old and small nothing special. I wouldn’t go back and I wouldn’t recommend, the only one thing what is good is the staff they are friendly and helpful, trying to do they best .

Incredible food. Such great flavours. The mussels were brilliant and atmosphere was also perfect for a relaxed dinner.

Only came back for the pandesal sliders; the bun is just so soft and slightly sweet, did not disappoint. Got the glazed lamb ribs and chicken inasal both great but the ribs were my favourite. The chicken tasted like a smoked jerk but less intense, I used my slider to mop up the sauce 10/10.

As a Filipina, highly recommend. Went there for an anniversary and the set up and music was really chill vibes. Food did not disappoint. I only really tried their Filipino food and, even though nothing can ever beat my lola's cooking, Bintang's chefs definitely know what they're doing. That dirty fried rice oh my god🤌 Only Pinoy restaurant that feels authentic enough and worth the expense tbh. Shoutout to the two kuyas that served us as well because they were very attentive and fast with the food. Highly recommend it when introducing Filipino food to people for the first time too since they have a good range of meals and it's all halal too, so I'm definitely coming back with my friends.

Shout out to Ton for his customer service!! Food and atmosphere was perfect, though I preferred the lychee drink over mango.

Without a doubt, another wonderful experience at Bintang. The food & drinks were delicious and the staff was genuinely friendly and attentive. A big shout-out to Angel, Mayar, Jose, Andrei & Ton, the chefs and remaining kitchen staff. Highly recommend and will (definitely) be back!

Great Filipino food and also good service

My wife and I came to have a taste of the Philippines in London. Wholly impressed with the quality of food here, albeit quite expensive. We had Tapsilog (£16), chicken honey chili wings (£9), Garlic rice (£5) and a calamansi drink (£6). A bit on the expensive side really, but can wholly justify the cost compared to quality of food. Wow. Blown away. I would caution the owner wisely against attempting to charge a 12.5% service charge without stating so first. I challenged this and was asked for a valid reason to remove. I stayed that this is not a statutory charge in the UK. It also must be clearly stated on menus before ordering. There is downstairs seating, if you're over 6ft please watch your head. The toilet was a little dusty but not dirty. No hand soap (empty bottle left on the shelf). Despite the niggles, I would recommend coming here, but please challenge the dirty tactic of service charging, especially for food which I'd consider expensive in the first place. This is elevated Filipino food done well. Tapsilog is a traditional breakfast food but it was enjoyed for a day meal. As we left, the server left a sour taste by not saying goodbye to me after challenging the service charge. He said goodbye to my wife though. That's a shame

The food was soooo tasty! Plenty of GF dishes. We sat at the bar which we enjoyed but tables downstairs if there are more than 2 in your party. £6 margarita during happy hour 5-7 M-F

Really really not impressed. I came here with a few friends and sat outside as it was a hot day. The service was unbelievably slow. I have never experienced anything like it! So slow, in fact, that we were all served our food separately and couldn't eat together - because that would require waiting 30 plus minutes and letting the food get cold. At one point we had to remind the server that we were still waiting for people's food and he genuinely looked surprised? Even getting the bill was a nightmare and took another 20 minutes - we made sure to ask the server to stay with us so we could pay immediately, instead of having him vanish for another half hour. The servers were polite enough, but didn't seem interested in checking up on customers. And at the end - a massive service charge added on top of our bill. Unbelievable! We challenged it and had it removed because while I generally don't mind paying for it, it was definitely NOT deserved in this case. The food was very good though, I'll give them that, from the starters to the mains. I had the okoy fritters and chicken inasal with garlic fried rice, and all were delicious.

Recently visited and loved it! The starters—Lumpiang Shanghai (spring rolls), Okoy Fritters, and Calamansi Chilli Wings—were absolutely delicious. We’d go back just for those! For mains, the Sambal Inasal (smoked chicken) was amazing, full of smoky flavor, while the Oxtail Kare Kare didn’t quite hit the mark for us. The service was great, the old-school music added a fun vibe, and overall, it’s a spot we’ll return to—especially for those starters!

The food here is an absolute 10/10! Full of flavor. I loved the atmosphere, especially with the Filipino music playing in the background— it added a great touch. The staff were super nice and made the experience even better. Highly recommended! Ordered beef sisig, noodles with tofu and aubergine. Drinks: lychee and mango. Dessert- icre cream ube sandwich.

Best food we had on our trip to London. Super friendly staff and the food was out of this world. We got the Bitang noodles and the beef sisig. Both were amazing and we savored every bite. The pandesal slider was also very very good. In addition we had 2 mango-lada mock tails which were very tasty and paired well with our meal. Top 10 meals of my life.

Some of the best curry I've had - ever! We had the oxtail kare kare and the lamb rendang; both were fantastic. I can't recommend this place enough. We got the picante and the classic daiquiri. I am a cocktail bartender so I can say with confidence that they were made perfectly. During happy hour (5-7pm Mon-Fri) they're only £6 each! This place is so worth the price.

We have never had Filipino food before and were excited to try it. Oh my gosh, it was so unbelievably delicious! We had these spicy egg noodles, the dirty fried rice, and the beef Sistang which was so, so amazing and complex. So glad we found this place. Thank you for a fabulous meal!

Not a great welcome, seated outside and the tables and seating were not that comfortable. Not the happiest lady that took our order , food was then received and the starter was ok, the bread that is similar to a Indian naan was so greasy, the mains such as curry was full of a greasy oil, the meat was raw, I’m not one to complain but yes I should have done but our friend took us along so felt embarrassed for her if I started to say moan. Then my partner was halfway through the meal and had to leave the table on three occasions to be sick,, then we observed a mouse running between tables, the place is not that clean the table cover was grubby, the female server could see my wife was not well but chose to not say anything, then the bill came along and how they can charge such an extortionate price plus around £14 service charge really does defy logic. I would avoid this place, total dissatisfaction and disappointment.

Would highly recommend the glazed lamb ribs, this was our favourite 🤩 The smoked chicken Inasal also didn’t disappoint. Loved that everything was halal for my husband. Staff were friendly and polite, would re-visit.

We had the chicken inasal, beef kare-kare and buko pie. Everything was delicious and my favourite was the buko pie. Masarap lahat and they were very attentive and friendly especially Andre who was working at that time. It looks small when you enter but they have a nice outdoor seating area at the back and a lower level with more seats. There’s a Mamasons next door (a popular spot for Filipino sweets/desserts) but Bintang also serves the same desserts since I think their under one company so it was really nice to have some really nice Mamasons desserts without leaving the table/restaurant.

Came in with a friend, and immediately got welcomed in and seated. We was sat at the bar which was very nice, and plates and menus were given to us very quickly. We chose out food and drinks which were handed to us and the drinks alone were amazing. I ordered the spring rolls and they were so well done and presented very nicely. Over all great atmosphere in there and will definitely be coming back soon.

When you enter the restaurant, you feel like you're in the Philippines. The song is Novela by Join the club. My husband and I had lunch. At first we were on the ground floor then I realized there was a chin when I went to CR. We switched to a chubby waitress. Suddenly he tripped, you can feel it. When the Menu was given to us, there was no enthusiasm, obviously not wanting to eat. It's just OFF for me right away. There is no Filipino hospitality. The food is delicious but you can't call it Filipino food. Coming from Pampanga. The kare kare is sweet, the OKAY can be done, the sisig doesn't even sizzle when served. Long onion slices instead of small ones. You just wear overalls at Kasa and Kin. two stars because it's ok.

Had a great dinner here during the week. We got a few dishes as the food was served “small plates” style and was so flavourful. We were also lucky enough to arrive during happy hour and the cocktails were fantastic too. It was all topped off by super friendly staff and great service. Only real caveat is that the restaurant itself is a little on the smaller side, but in a a cosy and intimate way.

One of the best filipino places i’ve been to in general. We had the pandesal slider, lumpia, papaya salad, ox tail kare kare, prawn pancit, roti, garlic fried rice, and buko pie and ube brownie for dessert. Every single dish was delicious, all hits. Not a single dull moment. The papaya salad was so tasty with a perfect amount of heat from the chilies, the beef and lamb lumpia were so flavorful and the pandesal slider was so comforting. The ox tail kare kare was gorgeous. The sauce was perfect, the peanut flavor was balanced and the meat was so tender. The garlic fried rice with the kare kare hit the spot and reminded me of home. The pancit was some of the best i’ve had. It was so fresh and there we a good amount of prawns. i’m only here visiting but next time i come to London I’m absolutely coming back.

Started with great cocktails, followed by a very delicious lamb curry and roti canai. The flavours were very well balanced. My girlfriend really enjoyed the vegetarian noodles, however it would be nice if there were more non meat options.

First time here but I've been following them for awhile and they didn't disappoint. I'm just not sure of the beef and lamb Shanghai. I'm not a fan but everything else is really good!

Loved our visit on a Saturday evening. André was very attentive and polite. Helped us choose our drinks. Very comfortable a great place to chill with friends or on a date. Highly recommend their cocktails and spring rolls.

Booked a table for 8pm. Ordered as soon as we were seated. Didnt get served till 8:30pm for starters. Main didnt come at all and at 9pm we asked to cancel and leave. The waitress gave us the full bill (with mains that didnt get served + another table that ordered their mains were served before us), goes to show they dont pay attention to their tables. When the bill was rectified, they still had the cheek to add service charge. No apology nothing. We wanted to leave asap as we were still hungry so didn't challenge the bill. Will give credit where credit is due: the chicken wings were amazing!!! Not amazing enough to cost £10 for 4 wings and being ignored the whole night…

I recently visited Bintang on a Wednesday evening with two friends to celebrate a birthday, and our experience was exceptional from start to finish. TL;DR: incredibly friendly staff, good vibes and really unique flavour in each of the dishes. (& it’s halal!) Upon arrival, we were seated at the bar, which was both comfortable and had a vibrant, lively atmosphere. The staff are friendly and their banter was on point - setting a welcoming and enjoyable tone for the evening. The food was outstanding, with each dish featuring unique and memorable flavours that exceeded my expectations. The creativity and quality of the dishes truly stood out. As a delightful surprise, the staff sang "Happy Birthday" to my friend, adding a special touch to our celebration. To cap off the evening, we ordered desserts from Mamasons, and the accommodating staff happily brought them over for us. Thank you SO much for a wonderful evening.

I was really looking forward to the flavours here but was v disappointed and embarrassed. To be thoroughly honest, first impressions weren’t great. First point of contact not the most welcoming customer service I’ve had. V small tables and tight dining area. Food was shockingly mediocre- the oak smoked chicken inasal was just a v charred roast chicken with no flavour. (Honestly had better from chicken franchises). My Bintang curry order was wrong (I asked for the prawns to be swapped with chicken and it wasn’t). My Bintang curry had no spice or strong flavours as was told and could not really taste the lemongrass. The Pandasal slider is a bland little beef burger that is overhyped (sorry) but fast food places have more flavour. On a positive our waiter was lovely. But really this wasn’t worth the £64.70 bill.

We came for supper on a Friday evening. It’s a cosy place with great food. We had Okoy fritters, ulek curry, Bintang curry and 2 rices dishes. All good. Friendly staff. We will come back.

What a hidden gem. We visited this restaurant and was not left disappointed. When we arrived we are welcomed by true Filipino hospitality, the staff (sorry I didn’t get his name) was an amazing host. He goes beyond to accommodate our request and made us feel very welcomed. The service is very attentive and wow, the food was second to none. We almost finished every dish we ordered. My top notch would be the papaya salad.

Delicious food!! I’ll be happy to come back here any time. We had the Bintang curry, Bintang noodles, Prawn pancit and morning glory. All had very different flavours, each one very special. Definitely recommend this address!

Spectacular meal, not one mediocre dish. Took a friend who is equally impressed. The fried potato and feta side dish I could happily eat as a main meal. The best crispy tofu bites I've ever had. We'll be back, definitely.

Love this place! Super friendly staff and amazing food. Don't miss their incredible cocktails. My favourites: The Bintang noodles are incredible with their special sauce, the lamb Rendang curry is delicious, and their Roti is perfect. Drinks: They make a fantastic dirty martini, and their signature clarified ube cocktail is a must-try! Desserts are awesome too! The Bilog in the picture is delicious, their ice cream alone is already fabulous. Their Buko pie is the best, definitely try it.

Really tasty food and great service! I walked in around 5pm and was seated at the bar, so do make reservations if you want a table/have a larger group. The person who served me was great at explaining everything and made a yummy recommendation: the oxtail curry 🤤 Price: a bit expensive, so this will be a treat-yo-self place for me in the future, but not a regular option. Fun fact: this restaurant has been in this same spot for over 30 years!

Love this place. A special shout out to Maya who went the extra mile to take care of us. I called to say I was on my way and would be there in 20 mins (5 mins before the kitchen closed) and it took a bit longer than expected and she called back to ask if I wanted to order over the phone which I thought was so nice. 2nd visit to bintang and they never disappoint with the flavours of the food! Slight issue in that a few of the food and drinks weren't available due to particular ingredients being out of stock, however what was available was still really good!

We were the first ones there, and I came with my friends when they broke their fast for ramadan. Very accommodating, offered dates for those fasting, and all meats are halal! Food was amazing. Had the dirty fried rice, oxtail kare kare, lamb rendang, and kalamansi chicken wings. All very flavourful, lots of seasoning, and great portion sizes. Presentation is very top notch. Would definitely go again. Friendly and accommodating staff, good environment, good food, portion and value for money. Fast service.

2nd visit - April 2024 This time we tried Chicken liver popcorn which tasted really good. It has a spicy and tangy taste and it was crunchy. You could really taste the liver which I love. Also tried the Chicken Inasal and again we just love this dish. Everything that we have tried here is very unique but still with a hint of the filipino food. 1st visit Amazing food! Levelled up Filipino dishes. We went here on a Saturday afternoon and were seated right away. Their staff was super nice and just had an excellent customer service skills. We were served by the Short haired girl and immediately after she gave us the menu she explained how is it best to order and like how many dishes do they recommend. The food was served quickly. We ordered Chicharon (Super crunchy) love the vinegar as well Ox tail Kare Kare (This is the dish we loved the most, the meat was so tender and it is best paired with their garlic rice. The sauce is just super good) Garlic rice (Amazing!) Okoy fritters Lumpia After we finished our meal, the waiter asked ask if we want to have our dessert. Which we did. She offered desserts in the resto but you can order with Mamasons which is just beside them. You dont have to go there but they will just deliver it to you. We ordered the cream cheese calamansi cake(Not sure what its called but its their new dessert which is yummy) And buko pie with ube ice cream. Will definitely go back to this restaurant.

First of all, as a Filipino, the food is nothing like the typical Filipino food. There is very little choice of food, everything is basically spicy. But worst of all, we were served a raw chicken which was eaten by kids and we discovered it too late as the lights were dimmed and they had already eaten a little bit. The dish was taken out of the bill but they didn't seem bothered about it at all. Overall ,very bad experience

We had a great dinner there. We had a couple of starters, a main each and a ube ice cream for dessert and everything was delicious. The staff was very nice and helpfull :) Good vegan and vegetarian options, we had the tofu bites, the potato with feta and alioli salad and the tofu and aubergine noodles, all of them were amazing! I'll be coming back for sure :)

I was so excited to come to bintang as the chef is half bengali like me and I wanted to taste the philippine cuisine with touches of bengali flvaours. I was very disappointed. The food was not great at all. Not one dish would I recommend. The chicken liver popcorn in particular had such a tangy sauce that you could barely taste the chicken. The drinks were not nice at all and I ordered a few. Very sour. The service was not amazing. I had made a reservation but yet was seated on what I would call "walk-in tables". I was informed that all the tables downstairs were unavailable. After I went downstairs to use the WC, I saw that lots of tables were available. We were seated downstairs after I requested the change in seating and would like to point out that one table next to me was empty all evening so they did have space. Our food took a very long time to arrive. We were given a free dish of food due to the long wait, but it is unexcusable to make someone wait almost an hour for their food. Will NOT be coming back and wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Oh my Gulay! If you are looking for amazing food and OH MY GOSH amazing cocktails, Bintang is the place for you! The food and staff were amazing! They have an amazing homemade cocktail called Ube Colada - I'm still gobsmacked that they made it themselves from the Ube root crop and clarified it to become the best tasting cocktail I have ever tasted in my life! Their chicken inasal sambal was divine and those Okoy Fritters were fire! Fefinitely worth the try! The staff were very very accommodating and offered new menu items as well... I have nothing but praise and mmmm mmmm mmmm good foodie memories!

Booked a table for a celebration with my mum. Then got a phone call announcing they were cancelling our booking so they could fit a bigger table in. Now stuck without anywhere booked. Offered 10% off if we came back another day. Of course they were quite happy to take my credit card details so they could charge a no-show fee if I hadn't have turned up! I wouldn't rely on Bintang for any event you don't mind being cancelled 3 days before. I've eaten here before, the food is quite nice.

The food was absolutely amazing!!! Our hosts were so incredibly welcoming and polite, they went the extra mile for every instance!! Our plates were consistently refreshed inbetween dishes and we even received an abundance of wet wipes for finger food. Service was impeccable, genuinely only great things to say. Even with a full house at lunchtime we had minimal waiting time and a steady flow of our order. The ribs were the best I've had and the other meat spring rolls/chicken wings were also great. Such a hidden gem!! Can't wait for this place to branch out one day so I can order from home. Still thinking about that ube brownie! I forgot to ask for our hosts names but thank you so much for such a lovely experience, we will definitely be back :)

My ex-partner and I ventured into Bintang, Kentish Town this evening, without a reservation, a spontaneous decision that quickly descended into a regrettable ordeal. Upon inquiring about the possibility of dining downstairs, we were begrudgingly accommodated with the strict condition of vacating within a mere 90 minutes due to subsequent bookings. This constraint immediately instilled a sense of undue haste and discomfort, setting a decidedly unwelcome tone for our visit. Our interaction with the service staff did little to alleviate the growing tension. Struggling to decipher the waitress's explanations, I found myself nodding in agreement without full comprehension, an interaction that felt both frustrating and dismissive. In a futile attempt to expedite our dining experience, we ordered both starters and mains together, hoping for a seamless meal. The starters, which arrived with alarming swiftness, were a prelude to disappointment, lacking in flavour and refinement. This was promptly followed by my main course of noodles, a dish that could only be described as passably edible but disappointingly lacklustre, resembling more a mass of slugs than a culinary delight. The nadir of our dining experience, however, was my ex-partner's chicken dish, served with a skin so egregiously burnt it could only be likened to charred charcoal, a stark testament to the kitchen's hasty and careless preparation in their bid to usher us out. Our complaints were met with a paltry offering of a 20% discount, a gesture that did little to ameliorate the situation or salvage the evening. The entire experience was marred by a palpable rush, a clear indication that our presence was merely tolerated rather than welcomed, all for the privilege of paying West End prices for what was unequivocally not a West End experience. In retrospect, our impromptu visit to Bintang was a stark lesson in disappointment, a harrowing encounter that left us not only underwhelmed but distinctly aggrieved.

Amazing food at Bintang, with extremely friendly and cozy staff. the oxtail karekare was delicious, and so were the glazed lamb ribs. very delicious modern filipino food. cocktails were also great. can get very tight inside so make sure thats okay with you.

My first time with family in this restaurant. The place was small but lovely and cosy. Can be perfect for a date night or with a small group of friends. I love that the menu is not overwhelming. I ordered the Ulek curry (veg option). It was delicious and had a nice kick to it. Thoroughly enjoyed it and would visit again when in London next time.

We booked here for a last-minute date night & was blown away by the place. Decor & feel of the restaurant is very chilled & the food was incredible. Absolutely no complaints!

Recently visited with my work colleagues in celebration of the team winning our Cocktail Competition. We have such a great night. The ambience in the place was very intimate. The service from all staff members, especially Angel was exceptional. We had a plate of small nibbles along with various small plates and different mains, so that we could get a taste of it all. We also ordered signature cocktail and virgin cocktails, which were also amazing. We finished off with dessert which was a great end to such an amazing meal. I could not recommend this place enough and will ve coming back in the near future.

Decided to order from this place for Valentine's Day, and holy the oxtail curry was actually phenomenal. The meat is so tender, the peanuts just add that complimentary texture and the gravy was just magnificent, while my date really enjoyed the Bintang Curry, more and more with every bite. The pricing was decent, however if you plan to order I would suggest making your own rice to save on cost, and if anything put that saving into a side like the wings. Seriously though, you have to try the oxtail curry It leaves such an impression on you.

The food was exceptionally tasty - loved the grilled gurnard, and the Okay fritters were very tasty. It isn't cheap, but I'd rate it good value, with good service. My son has been here a lot and it was his choice for this evening.

Food was good not impressive. Had an argument with the waiter on how to pronounce the word “plantain”. Called my language a “replica”.

The restaurant has had a big make over since a year ago. Food, atmosphere and drinks have greatly improved. We still thought it was BYOB and they gave us happy hour cocktails and free ice cream to compensate. Slider and spring roll starters were a bit heavy for us but the curries were all great. The cocktails were delicious and the ice cream was 👌.

Bintang has some of the best food that I have ever had in London! Every dish is so flavoursome and perfectly sized. Would definitely recommend!!!
