Bilash Spice in Lichfield

Food's great, service is great, atmosphere let's it down. To me, at least, it has the decor of a nice contemporary restaurant but the seating arrangement of a school dining hall. The flooring is "functional" rather than comfortable and it's little things like that and not having a drinks licence or good background music/acoustics that make a difference. Well worth a visit, though, as ultimately it's the food you're there for. Pokemon Go rating - nothing within range.

Ordered takeaway food, very easy, quick and delicious

Great experience, lovely food with friendly efficient service. First time visit. Went for a family Christmas celebration Free parking, lots of spaces Very busy when we went as just before Christmas, staff managed this well, service felt controlled, positive and friendly. Food was delicious, whole mix of ages in our party from 20 - 50, all with different tastes. We all loved the food. My stater was a Nargis Kebab, and it was the most delicious Nargis Kebab I have ever tasted. Main course was also excellent. Its is unlicensed and a byo, which we always prefer as it helps with the cost. With reasonable prices, excellent service & fabulous food we would definitely return when next in the area.

The team at Bilash could not be more helpful or friendly. As regular diners both in restaurant and takeaway/delivery, Bilash go above and beyond. Great food and great people. Thank you Bilash. Pam and Andy.

We love this place, we order most weekends and always have the same as the taste is to die for. Definitely the best around by far. The staff are very friendly and work very hard even at really busy periods . I can’t recommend this place enough…just try it for yourself you won’t be disappointed!

Well the food was ok it was like faulty towers thou, It was nearly empty when I got there all the tables were laid and I was told to wait for a table to be laid 25 minutes later I was just about to go then told they forgot me and the table was ready,asked if I wanted poppadoms I said yes pleases , then the same guy asked me the same question again 10 mins later, I ordered a lamb balti , that arrived in about 25 mins , but they forgot to put the lamb in it, I had 3 tiny bits of lamb I pointed this out they blamed the chef took it back and fair dues a new one was sent out,meat included this time ,I asked for the bill paid the bill ,and then was told they were bringing me the bill,its a shame as it was so unorganised, service was a train wreck thou,not bad food but really bad service , need a decent manager im guessing

Supposed to be open until 11pm. Advertised online, and on the menu until 11pm also. I called at 10.15pm and was told that I cannot order any food, as they are closed! Even though I offered to collect food myself, still told that they are closed 🤔 Is this not false advertising?? Also please be careful to check the amount is correct if you are paying by card, as on one occasion I ordered just 1 portion of a starter that is supposed to be £6.50 and I later noticed they had charged me £17.90.. Almost 3 times the amount! So yes, the food is nice but theyre service isnt the best and I do not expect to get charged 3 times the amount! And then, to be just brushed off about it when I went there next and showed them the inaccurate charge on my bank statement!! I wasnt offered my money back or even food to the value of!! So yes, i absolutely would check your bill amount to what you are actually payingwhen you use contactless payment.

Used to love the food here. Hadn't been for a while so thought we'd give it a try. Very disappointing, bland tasteless food. I've made better myself. Maybe we were just unlucky or the regular chef was off but all four of us were disappointed with our meals. Service was great though.

Fantastic curry and customer service is just as good. After being disappointed with a dish recently Bilash went out their way to contact me to make this right and offered me a replacement free of charge and the curry was fantastic. My new local has been found will be dining in next time!

Visited the restaurant for a family meal and it was my 1st time here. I can now say I won't use any other Indian restaurant apart from Bilash. The food was amazing and the staff are brillian. Nothing was to much trouble for them and they were very polite. The food for everyone was amazing. I will be using them for sit in meals and takeaway's for the futur.

We come here regularly either to eat in or order and we’ve never been disappointed. Staff are friendly and lovely to talk to. Food is always delicious although sometimes when busy you can wait longer than usual for food but this has never bothered us as it’s always been hot and tasted great!

We booked a table for 7pm . We were seated quickly always make a fuss of the children. As always the food was piping hot and tasty . The service was fast even when busy. All the staff were working hard it was quite busy. We really enjoyed it and will be back soon. Well done bilash every one needs to visit if you haven’t been for a while make the effort to support Ali and his team you won’t be disappointed .

Bilash was fantastic. We went for my birthday with family. My father in law commented it was the best Indian he'd ever had. And our son who is a vegetarian had the Scampi and chips and said it was amazing. They even did something nice for my birthday which was very much appreciated. Loved it. Always have take aways but will definitely eat in again.

We have been coming to The Bilash for years, and despite trying other Indian Restaurants across the country from time to time, this one is still a firm favourite. Good food and a great team of staff who always make us feel welcome.

Not real Indian food. It's is Bengali food. Which means all curries they put sugar in it. I recommend go to Pakistani or real Indian Indian. Call and ask if it is begali style.

I thought I knew a good curry, until BILASH. By far the freshest and tastiest curry I have eaten would highly recommend! Had take outs from this place for over a year now and they haven’t missed a beat, friendly staff and amazing food. Thank you Bilash.

Absolutely amazing food and service! This is the fourth time I've been and the meals are incredible. Even something as "simple" as the vegetable rice is super flavourful, and the poppadoms are the best I've ever had. Great range of dishes as well as loads of vegetarian/ vegan options. The staff are always very friendly and attentive too, and don't mind you taking your own alcohol at all. Fantastic place, and at a very good price too.

Went here last night with 17 family members , every single one of us enjoyed our food no complaints at all. Staff as always work extremely hard, always found them helpful and considerate.

We came last night as a party of 13, the food was fantastic!! The service was 2nd to none! They made sure all the correct messures was in place following the government's guidelines. My family and I have been going to Bilash for a couple of years now and it never fails to out do itself . From the more than kind and helpful staff and delicious food the expirience is always wonderful. I got a tandoori chicken and aloo chatt , chi Patti this time which was just as good as I anticipated , full of flavour and cooked to perfection . My daughter got a chicken masala which was again just fantastic. The portions are always big and quality high and the price is More than reasonable . I’ve been to a few curry houses in Lichfield but I always return to BILASH !!!

We rang at 6pm as we fancied a delivery and despite being a little further afield to their delivery area, they were very obliging and said they would make an exception. The food arrived and it was fresh, well spiced/seasoned and very tasty. We enjoyed prawn puree and chicken tikka starters and chicken dhansak, chicken tikka saag balti and chicken tikka, keema saag balti with fresh naan breads. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

The food here is always delicious and we often come here with family or friends. If you are coming with a big group then I would definitely recommend booking a table as it can get quite busy, especially later on in the evening. Staff are very friendly and will do anything to help you.

Lovey food very delicious food and extremely friendly staff can be a bit full on weekends but not to bad on week days - they also do takeout! (only problem was that the Christmas lights where a bit to flashy and gave us headaches)

We have been coming to Bilash Spice for 5 years now, we have never had a bad meal. The food is amazing, they’ll make it as hot as you like. The menu is great and has something for everyone, the Owners are really nice guys, they have free WiFi if you need it. Bilash is very family friendly and you see loads of youngsters in there early evenings. It’s a place to bring your own booze (there’s a CoOp a few shops down) Bilash serves soft drinks. If you want to go Friday and Saturday nights booking a table is advised.

Good menu and friendly, informative staff. Food is excellent and inexpensive. King prawn sashlik is a winner!

Best curry house i had for long time

We have been using the Vikash on and off for a few years, however they have certainly improved their quality beyond expectations - two excellent meals in the last fortnight, and the restaurant was full - always a good sign. NB: They are unlicensed so you will need to take your own alcoholic drinks.

Local Indian that we use on a semi regular basis for takeaways and meals. Always good quality food and service Thanks

We took my 84 year old father for a Birthday dinner at Bilash last Sat. As usual the food was exceptional and the staff very friendly and attentive.Half way through the meal my father who is disabled had to visit the toilet. When opening the toilet door we were instead greeted with a store cupboard! The disabled toilet was being used as a storage room and was completely unusable.Instead my father had to struggle with my mom and sister to use the normal toilet. Luckily a very kind customer offered to stand guard at the door to prevent other customers coming in.Can you imagine how undignified this was?After our meal we called the manager over and explained how unacceptable this situation was. To say nothing of illegal. We were very calm and polite and explained what the legal position is as it was clear they did not understand. His answer was that we should have called ahead to say we were coming as his other disabled customers do. They could have emptied the room for us then!!!No matter how we explained that he was completely missing the point he could not understand how unacceptable this was. We explained how many disabilities are not visible and it is very undignified to have to request that a toilet is cleared for you.It was such a shame as we really love this restaurant. However we will not be able to visit again with my father due to this issue.

Best Indian food for miles in this area. Been coming for a couple of years having been brought up on balti food from the balti belt area of Birmingham since 1970. ITS GREAT

What a great curry house this is!!! Good fair prices, they do a full range from “The Balti” to “Tandori” and everything in between, they cater for the hearty carnivore to the vegetarian. I like my chillies and they do call me “Chilli Dave” as such they will give me a small bowl of chilli pickle and some fresh chillies to go with my meal, I have had my tongue burned once or twice from a little hotty! The service is always friendly, professional and they get it right!!! (the times we have had orders mixed up or wrong) The only downside is it’s a very open space and gets very loud, especially early evening at the weekends as families love to eat here too, so expect children if you do go early evening Friday or Saturday. But I cannot rate Bilash highly enough, we have been going there for over 5 years now, we have only had great food, service and even takeaway’s delivered with a smile.

This was the first time we have visited the Bilash, following a recommendation from friends. It certainly lived up to the recommendation. The staff were very polite and very attentive. The food was very nice, fresh and presented well. Although they don't have a drinks licence, they are happy to provide glasses and openers.

It varies a bit but is always goodJust seen a review suggesting Delhi Divan is much better. That place used to be good but hasn’t been for some time.Suggest you check the hygiene rating firstI wouldn’t eat anywhere less than a 4, and the Delhi Divan was a 1 in Jan!

Thought we would take advantage of the special offer available on Monday/Tuesday, 5 courses for £10.95.Good choice and genuine offer, staff very pleasant and helpful. Attentive without being intrusive. Poppadoms,chicken Tikka starter, chicken& mushroom balti, rice & a naan. Plus coffee or ice cream! We were a little stuffed.Expecting a Monday to be quiet but nicely busy. Will definatley visit again to take advantage of this excellent offer.

Went here with the wife for a date night. Had to wait past our booking time, despite free tables. Service was good, food was ok had better. My curry was described as hot, it came Luke warm and wasn’t very spicy. The wife’s was again ok.

We were visiting a friend in his new house so we booked a table at Bilash Spice. We dined at 18:45hrs which meant we were present with a lot of families. It is one big room so there is bot much privacy and a lot of the children were running around. Thankfully the food made up for it. It was fresh and tasty and the fact you can bring your own drink made it very good value. The food took a little while to arrive but it was worth it.

We are regulars at the Bilash . The food is never disappointing. The staff are always friendly. Service is rather slow and I would say take-aways seem to go out a lot quicker than service to restaurant customers. The majority of the customers are from the adjacent estate and the families treat it as their local cafe. Their children are allowed to run around the restaurant. The weekends are very noisy because of this. A booth layout may improve this. It is one big room which makes it very impersonal. Not the place to go for a quiet meal.

Decor faded and tatty. Menus dog eared. Food below average. Noisy. Slow service. Cheap & friendly though. Think this place relies on being the only eaterie in the village, without even a pub to compete with. Drive to Alrewas and use the Delhi Divan instead.

We decided last minute to visit for my birthday after having reccomendations from locals in Fradley. Not only was the food great but having ordered a la carte the waiter advised us that the special priced menu would have been less expensive. I mentioned that I didn't want to ask for substitutions from their menu which is why we made that choice but he said he would reduce our bill to match the offer. The Tikka and Bhajis were as good as any I have had and my wife said the Butter Chicken was the best she has had. Great food, great value and service so this will definately be our regular.
