Lovely decor, Sunday lunch was good but spoilt by under cooked roast potatoes, all were hard and unpalatable. Roasties are so easy to do great shame.

Surprise birthday meal with my partner as he knew I wanted to go, and it didn’t disappoint, food was amazing, loved the boards great idea, the restaurant has lovely décor which adds to the experience. As a foodies we really appreciate quality and attention to detail. The staff were attentive and very knowledgeable. Will definitely be returning and look forward to having lunch in the outdoor area too. Can see why the owners have been there 10 years.

Had a Sunday Roast here today what an amazing team providing excellent service matched with amazing food a rare combination to get top marks for they should be very proud of what they are achieving

Delightful place. Food was delicious. We had smoked salmon pate & a soup starter, ox liver & sea trout main, staff attentive and friendly. Sat outside in lovely setting. Could not fault it. Will come again 😍

Lovely Sunday roast. Could not fault anything. Strongly recommend

We visited on Friday for Burns night. The traditional dish of haggis neeps and tatties was fantastic. The service from every member of staff was excellent and the event of Rabbie Burns poem was amazing and special with the attendance of the piper. Well done Brian & Kerry and your team fantastic night

Fantastic food- the best steak we have ever had. The lamb was also fantastic. Great service a real treat to eat here. Jill and Nick Gin selection also unrivalled anywhere.

AMAZING NIGHT Had a meal here tonight and all I can say is WOWWWW. The owners are absolutely fantastic and so so lovely and friendly. The food was superb and the young lady that looked after us was brilliant, so attentive and couldn’t do enough. We dine out a lot but the ambiance here was second to none. If you’ve not experienced this restaurant before, I highly recommend that you do. Will definitely be back again.

Although the restaurant is a little dark and cramped, the service, menu variety and food quality is exquisite. The staff are very friendly and passionate about what they do. Price wise it is quite expensive but you certainly won’t feel short changed. Service times are a little odd though and can make bookings tricky..

Visiting friends in the area and deiceded to give this place a try. So glad we did, absolutely stunning food and a great choice of options so full of flavour. Good atmosphere and service, top notch!

Worth EVERY STAR From the time you go through the door, to the time you leave, nothing is to much. Food amazing Service quick and with a smile When the menu was shown, what ever you needed to know it was answered in full, ok it was a bit pricey, but we thought it well worth it. We'll go for Sunday lunch to see what's it like, if anything like the meal we've just eaten then I would say we're in for a enjoyable Sunday lunch.

Very nice place, and very busy on the evening I was there. Staff friendly and attentive. Menu was on a board brought to table and the maitre D explained some of the dishes and ingredients. I chose the beer battered fish and chips which were good, but I have to disagree that the curry mushy peas worked with the dish. Would ask for garden peas on another occasion.

What can I say brilliant food and great friendly service. The staff make you feel like every need is catered for. Even the younger members of staff were very helpful and attentive. We had one of the best Sunday roasts ever! We both had the roast beef , and the pineapple crumble was amazing, thanks to all X

Is a dog friendly restaurant, and all staff were welcoming and super friendly. Most of their ingredients are fresh and local. Delicious dishes. Amazing experience. Will definitely come back, and I do recommend it. Thank you for the very pleasant evening.

Sunday roast good. The beef was sirloin and had the choice to ask for rare medium etc.Yorkshires very good vegetables a little bland. Fillet of fish very small little embarrassing as finished in 2 minutes but at least had chance to try roast from my fellow guests. Starters not very interesting but good selection of desserts we all shared and the cheesecake at £9 per slice was voted the best. Wine list good but soft drink I had was double price I normally pay and as out in the sticks someone probably has to drive. Not quite fine dining as per other reviews and pound for pound I think I prefer the Pier at Harwich particularly for fish as although not a big eater it was just so small here- teach me for ordering fish on sunday! Popular with the blue rinse brigade which I’m almost a member of but for choice think I’d rather pay a bit more and go to Talbooth or a bit less and go to Pier at Harwich. Very clean but lacked a little atmosphere. Checked it out as planning big family reunion but as they mainly like fish we have better alternatives.

What an exquisite dinning experience. Service was first class. Servers were so attentive and polite. The menu was explained to us explicitly and it made our decisions easier. Apologies for no pictures because we demolished everything in sight. Garlic bread, fish, chicken breast and the cherry Bakewell sponge, omg. So delicate, every morsel was delicious and I have no words to explain how much we all enjoyed the meal. Tried my first Guinness half pint. I will definitely try it again. A must visit if you are in the area!!!

My wife and I went for Sunday dinner today, I think it's our fourth time visiting the bicycle restaurant. The food has always been great, the service friendly but not too friendly. I would recommend visiting here if you haven't been already 👍

This is a special place. Family run for many years, they welcome you in and look after you while you're there. Menus take the form of a wheelie board, that staff wheel up to your table, just enough choice to find something you'd like, but few enough to ensure the chefs will have perfected them all for you. I had beer battered fish and chips with curried mushy peas and spectacular tartare sauce. The haddock was so tender and, batter so crispy yet not oily. Chips the same, triple fried I'm guessing. 7 of us celebrating a birthday, and what a treat it was. We have talked about it many times to our friends 😊

Had lunch at The Bicycle today and it was absolutely amazing. The food was outstanding and Kerry our server was brilliant & very attentive and helpful. Can't wait to come back!

Nice food very poor table service. When we got there, we were offered a drinks menu fairly quickly we ordered and after a while where delivered our drinks. We had finished our drinks and were sat for about 40mins before WE asked for the food menu as we still had not been given one. Which took a little while to come as they seem to only have 1 board with the menu on. Our party had dietary requirements which they were good at dealing with but the food took a while to get to our table after ordering and they had forgot the side I'd ordered so I then had to get someone to get it. It arrive when I has almost finished my main!. Food was good but the wait was way to long to actually order and get food which was a real shame they clearly can cope at full capacity.

Took my mother for an early mother's day lunch time meal. The staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble The food was amazing beautifully presented, very fresh and excellent quality. Two of us had the Ox Liver which melted in your mouth and had the best jus/gravy I have tasted. There was a nice touch at the end when we were given a homemade chocolate and cherry fudge slice to have with our coffee. Will definitely go back

I don't often write reviews but having visited The Bicycle for a late dinner last night, I couldn't not! We had such a warm welcome, the service was absolutely excellent all evening. The food and drinks were all excellently presented and delicious. I have just moved to the area and The Bicycle will definitely be our go to for entertaining family and friends who are visiting. Thank you to everyone for making our evening so enjoyable.

I absolutely LOVE this place. The food is so well done and the menu and bar offering is so carefully considered. You know this because each time I have been, I have met and been served by the owners who show so much passion for what they do. I've taken my clients here many times over the last 6 years and it never disappoints. The puddings are all home made and absolutely delicious. All I can say is thank you, thank you, thank you for having me again.

Our first visit to The Bicycle Restaurant to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and it was lovely, delicious food and such welcoming friendly staff, loved it and will be returning with my family

The minute you walk in the door you are greeted so lovely. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the choice on the menu is excellent. The food was delicious and I can confirm that the steak was the best I ever had. A real gem of a place with every detail in design, food, staff to perfection. As you can read I very much enjoyed it and will be returning.

Visited previously for dinner, first visit to sample Sunday Lunch. Roast Beef was delicious served with horseradish sauce, very tender and cooked to perfection. Roast Chicken for partner, top marks but disappointed no stuffing offered. Cheese Board was tasty, more crackers next time please ! Pricing at high end, but backed up by good quality products and service. We were overcharged for one of our dishes but corrected after raised but no apology received from server.

We decided to have a lunch at The Bicycle for my husbands birthday. I’m so pleased we did, food was amazing, owners were so welcoming, service was second to non and the atmosphere was wonderful. I really can not emphasise enough how the food was absolutely delicious, we had starters, mains and dessert and all three were beautiful in appearance , tasty and made with top quality ingredients. We had a wonderful time and will definitely return.

Went here for a date night with my wife and had a really nice evening, food was top notch, staff were very friendly and polite and there was a very nice ambience. I would highly recommend a visit and try the porterhouse pork chop....yummy 😁

We passed by by chance on the way to the ferry to Hoek van Holland! What a nice restaurant and great service and food! A great end to our holiday in England! We hope to come back here again. Recommended!

Excellent lunch, nothing too much trouble

It was a gorgeous place, the decor is very plush. Outside table areas very tidy. Food is more the high end palettes, fancy types of sauces and vegetables. My wife loved it, but my palette choice would be more for traditional pub/bar foods. Still overal a lovely place to visit.

Top class restaurant with a great ambiance and absolutely delicious food. We visited for my birthday and from the moment we arrived nothing was too much for the staff. A warm greeting was followed by the drinks menu which had an amazing number of gins and other options. The menu is not large but there are dishes to suit every taste and we were offered explanations for all dishes of needed. When the food arrived it was delicious. I opted for bbq pork and then the slow roasted pork belly and both were cooked to perfection. The pork belly in particular was melt in your mouth with a delicious jus and crispy skin. My wife had 2 fish dishes and they were equally as well presented and tasty. Really can't recommend highly enough

Fantastic customer service, and lovely atmosphere. The dishes were unique and tasty. I recommend the Seabass if you like fish, I haven’t had any of the meat dishes but my friends have and I heard great things about the pork belly and ribeye steak. Oh, and the have a super wine selection. I really love the place, the hosts make you feel like home!

Popped in here on a wim last week and came back this week. Both times they did not disappoint! Really good staff, fantastic food, and a sensible price. If you are driving through, it's worth trying to pop in for a meal. We will be back again soon! Popped back again, again and again. Does not disappoint.
