Bento Restaurant in Sutton

The food and service were brilliant. My only issue was that they couldn't find my reservation, even though I booked through their website. My sister and I will definitely go again, and will recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Absolutely love the food, and lovely, friendly, welcoming staff. Always enjoy myself while at Bentos. One thing I would say is that I didn’t realise it had a dine in restaurant for 2 years! The outside could just do with a bit of love. Open the doors up, add some lights to let people know it’s open and maybe give the front garden a bit of a spruce up and I really think there would be more diners. I would have gone years ago if I had known. I was walking past about 6 months ago and only realised it was open after walking in the doors, unsure if anyone was going to be there and found the friendly staff waiting. Little bit of better lighting and I think the restaurant side of the place could do much better! Again, no other complaints and food is great, just a bit of friendly advice to you guys! Will be back soon! Jamie

good food and calm atmosphere my new favorite place

This place is a gem! It’s one of our local favourites. Food is good and high quality. The decor is nice. And the service is always polite and attentive.

We came again this Saturday and brought a great friend of us to enjoy our lunch. We always have great experience here and this time our friend was also amazed with this experience and we already talked about revisiting here for dining soon. The venue is nice, always clean and tidy. Food is no doubt excellent and the service is fantastic too! Must recommend!

I had my first visit to this restaurant with my Hong Kong friends who recommended to have a lunch here on Saturday afternoon. I loved everything about this restaurant once I popped in. It is very cosy, the food is very tasty and warm, the service is excellent , the food comes quickly, and it is very clean. I really recommend it and will definitely be back again and again.

Looking for place that serves Bento last minute I stumbled upon this place. Oh my, I am surprised I didn’t visit any sooner. Plenty of vegetarian options including Thai and best part they do bento box which supports quite a few customisations. Staff is quite friendly and service was super fast. And the best part, food so flavourful. This is going to be my go to for Bento. Didn’t miss out, do give a try!

Absolutely furious with my experience at Bento Restaurant today. I’ve been a loyal customer for at least five years, ordering from them every week or two without fail. I used to rave about them to everyone—loved the food, loved the service, and even met the previous owner who was a lovely person. I have literally spent thousands of pounds at this place over the years. But today? Complete disaster. According to ALL of their websites and information, they close at 10:30. I walked in at 10:10, expecting to be able to place an order with 20 minutes to spare before closing. What do I find? EVERY SINGLE EMPLOYEE standing by the door, already with their coats on, ready to leave. We politely reminded them that they’re supposed to be open for another 20 minutes and what do they do? Pretend they don’t speak English and just mumble, “kitchen already cleaned and shut.” I am SO DONE with restaurants like this. If you're not willing to stay open for the hours you advertise, THEN CHANGE YOUR DAMN HOURS. Don’t just close early and leave paying customers standing there, especially when you’ve been profiting off them for YEARS. Honestly, I’m disgusted. This restaurant just lost someone who has spent thousands of pounds there over the last five years. I’ll never be coming back, and I’ll make sure everyone knows how they treat their customers. Shame on you, Bento. Absolutely appalling.

Food was amazing, the taste of everything was so nice. Especially love the tofu phad thai and salted aubergine. Delivery driver very friendly too. Would definitely recommend

I recently visited Bento Wallington for dinner with my friends, and it was a fantastic experience! We ordered the chicken curry Katsu, beef in black bean sauce , and chicken pad Thai , and all the dishes were delicious with generous portions- definitely great value for money. The curry sauce was rich and flavourful, and the chicken was perfectly crispy. The beef in black bean sauce was incredibly tender, and the pad thai was bursting with flavour- and absolute highlight of the meal. The service was outstanding. The waitress was friendly and helpful, ensuring we had everything we needed.The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, making it a delightful place to dine. Plus, the food arrived quickly, which was a bonus! Overall , I highly recommend Bento Wallington to anyone looking for warm, enjoyable dining experience with great food. I ‘ll definitely be coming back !

Plastic found in our food, called them to state my daughter and I both had plastic in the spring rolls, I was told I was being silly We were frequent customers, not anymore ***edit*** I didn't call for a "freebie" or money back, and she definitely said "don't be silly", also I know the difference the noodle AND plastic! Like i said on the phone I will be notifying health and hygiene department. You are trying to hide the fact that your food has a problem. As you can see the large bit of plastic in the photo is not noodle! In fact this could of been a worse situation and could of caused more damage.

Ordered at 7.45pm , food arrived 9.15pm after An hour and a half wait . Only when I called and asked where our food was that we got any updates . One dish was missing from the order . Disappointed overall.

We had an extremely disappointing experience ordering from Bento this evening. We ordered 2 katsu curries, 1 chicken satay, 2 chicken gyoza, and Thai prawn crackers, and almost every item had serious issues: • The chicken in the katsu curries was hard and not tender. • The chicken satay was missing its essential satay sauce. • The gyoza were cold and dry. • The prawn crackers were overcooked and had a terrible smell. To make matters worse, when I called to inquire about the missing satay sauce, I was assured it would be sent immediately. Despite living just 5 minutes away, it never arrived, even after two calls and repeated promises. The combination of poor food quality and unprofessional service completely ruined our evening. We will definitely not be ordering from here again and cannot recommend this restaurant to others.

I dare to said Bento was the best Chinese Restaurant in Wallington not just food was fantastic neither the service was impeccable especially Winnie, Cherry and Joey. It's was my first time but surely won't be the last time I dine in Bento.

Ordered a prawn pad Thai from here (off of Uber eats) and it was so far from being a pad Thai! It tasted like the whole thing had been drowned in sweet chilli sauce 😓 way too saucy and quite spicy! Not for me unfortunately 💔

The portions of the wok gas are sufficient, and the fried rice, fried udon, and vegetarian spring rolls are all delicious. They can match the standard of normal restaurants in Hong Kong, no worse than Croydon! The environment is comfortable, the waiters from Hong Kong are friendly, and the chef is Malaysian Chinese. We ordered the Thai dishes. They taste authentic and delicious. Not pricey by UK standard. Recommended!

I ordered a meal with chips and paid extra, but no chips were included. Disappointing as now it will be a mission to sort out with Just Eat.

Spent £59 on a take away , special chow mein was missing , telephoned twice when it arrived 40 minutes later , stone cold obviously been left on the side . Not impressed!!

I dine here regularly, the service is excellent and the food is great! The staff is very friendly, especially the waitresses. The wait for food is always short despite constantly having ample amount of customers, and the prices are quite reasonable as well! I seldom do but when I ordered takeaway once, it arrived in no time and the food was still piping hot! Will continue dining here regularly!

One standout was their homemade chili oil, which truly deserves five stars—spicy, aromatic, and the perfect addition to any dish. The staff were exceptionally attentive and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. When our son accidentally spilled his drink, they quickly replaced it with no questions asked and even brought him a fresh one. Really lovely food. Only 1 thing prevents my giving 5 stars for quality: a - presumably unavailable - vegetarian item was substituted with a non-veggie item, including a food to which 1 of us is allergic. Sadly that had to go straight in the bin.

Ordered 2 pork fried rice and Singapore rice noodles for takeaway and mid eating I had to give this review. Would probably consider it a hidden gem. Had never been before and wanted to get food immediately on my way home and completely surprised by how good it tasted and large portion size!

What a wonderful little gem this Chinese local restaurant is. The restaurant is lovely with cosy decoration. I and my family often go there for lunch and dinner. It is always a real treat and very well priced. They serve lovely Chinese dim sum and a great variety of Chinese tratition selections. Outstanding service leading by Winnie and the mouth-watering Chinese cuisine by chef deserve my high recommendation to people around.

Atmosphere was lovely and very calm. Services is fabulous. All food came on time and very fresh and hot. We order jasmine green tea. One of the ladies come and refill your cup all the time. We never have to ask for refill she always make sure out pit is full with hot water. We order veg.pineapple fried rice. It was divine. Strongly recommend for everyone who wants to get good testy food, claiming atmosphere and fabulous service.

First may I say how friendly and polite everyone in this restaurant is, every time I set foot here I'm greeted with smiles and the atmosphere is lovely, on busier days it is bubbly and people clearly enjoy there time here, and on quiet days it is calm and peaceful and still friendly and a great place. The food is always fresh and absolutely delicious, it smells amazing, tastes amazing and looks amazing. What more could you want?! I've tried a fair few items here and I have loved everything I've tried!! 10/10 from me would recommend :)

Very authentic southeastern food! The service attitude is attentive, polite and thoughtful! Highly recommended: Fried beef river, Japanese udon/ramen! It provides a wide range of food in Chinese, Japanese and Thai style. The food is delicious and like the taste I used to have in Hong Kong. I can't imagine I can find such a good Eastern cuisine in Wallington area. The environment is nice and clean with relaxing music. The waitresses are polite and professional. I highly recommend it to everyone who wants to try Eastern style food.

Unfortunately just a combination of Sugar and MSG. The "fillet steak" just ordinary beef roast treated with sodium bicarbonate. Most of The box content is rice. Apart from above no complaints. GAYOZA was ok

I have a nut allergy and there was clearly cross contamination as I had a terrible reaction to a meal that should not have contained nuts. I do not mess around with health and safety. As bad as my reactions are, thankfully they're not fatal. If they are not careful, they could end up with a manslaughter case on their hands!

The attitude of the waiters is very good, the portions of fried noodles and fried rice are sufficient, and the taste is very suitable for Hong Kong people. There are also dim sum and ramen to choose from. If you don’t go to Café de Coral in the UK, you can try it at Kento.

Bento’s Restaurant is the best restaurant in Wallington has good staff members and they know how to deal with customers properly. The food in the restaurant is amazing especially the Katsu Curry with Egg Fried Rice. Good hygiene, you all should visit the restaurant!

Generally my experiences with Bento have been very good, except for the last 2 times. Last time, one item from the order was missing and one had been substituted without asking. This time, once the order arrived, one curry had leaked over the bags so they were sopping wet and almost impossible to carry inside. I also had to then clean sauce from my floors. It transpired the lid had not been properly put on in the first place. There were also peanuts loose all over the bag and one portion of chips was inedible as the carton was wet through and the food ruined. Given that I live just a few minutes walk from the restaurant that is a lot of damage to the food. A real disappointment this time.

Went here with my mum for lunch and it was delightful! Our food came out very speedily and it was all delicious. Definitely recommend!

Held a small Birthday evening here in May 24. The food was excellent and service good. Good variety of Asian food. We gave the staff our surprise birthday cake, for our birthday person, who then brought it out singing happy birthday. Good evening all round.

Visited on 23rd April with some family for my wife's birthday. Restaurant was nicely presented and clean, staff were welcoming and very attentive and the food was great. We will definitely be returning now we've found this gem.

Excellent food. Perfect portions. We ordered bento, curry fish balls, curry pork chop, egg fried rice and wonton noodle. And of coz, the famous Chow Mein. (The prawns are so big and yummy). I wish I had ordered less so I could try the ice milk tea. Will certainly come again.
