Beach Hut Bar & Grill in Bournemouth

we visited for drinks Saturday afternoon. We had to queue for 45 minutes to get in, meanwhile it seemed that the “security” had favourites that they let in in front of us. The security staff were rude and had no customer service skills whatever. Talking and laughing and ignoring the queue. We were told we had to wait as even though there was room for us the bar staff couldn’t keep up with the queue so they didn’t want to make it worse. Once inside it was another 30 mins in a queue to get drinks. I feel the place is a good idea but the security staff need to be trained in customer service, instead of using the job as a means to chat up bikini clad young women and to make themselves appear popular - very immature behaviour.

We came here for lunch on a sunny Sunday day trip, the location is very nice but unfortunately the rest of the visit wasn't great. The toilets were out of order so there was nowhere to go to the loo nearby, the public toilets are a little walk away. The staff were very slow and we had to call someone over in the end who took our order but didn't take the dirty plates from our table. The food was pretty expensive, there was kids meals advertised on the menu but we were told they were not serving these anymore which was a bit misleading so we had to order a full price meal for our toddler. The food then took a very long time to arrive, we decided to ask one of the waiters if it would be much longer (after lots of other diners were doing the same!) and he never bothered came back to update us. When the food did arrive, there was no apology for the long wait. The food was fine, nothing special. One to avoid unfortunately, at least until they can sort their wait times and very un-interested staff!

Very disappointed, tea £3.50 in the smallest paper cup delivered with the tea bag stewing and stick. Waited ages for the food which was warm not hot ( not busy ) no sauces, condiments or serviettes. Expensive for what we had. Will not be going there again.

Terrible overpriced food, I only gave an extra star for the waitress who helped us. Don’t bother eating here the food is not that great, when you order a souvlaki you expect proper meat pieces, it was just a gyro still, the menu was misleading, the kids sausage and chips was horrible, the sausage was very bad not really reflective of the price we paid. I would avoid the place.

the location in great, amazing view. design is great, I lovo boho style, you feel there like on a holiday abroad. We went there for a breakfast, we were served very quick and got food fast as well. coffee very small but good, breakfast bup was cold but overall good, we were full after eating them. we wanted to go there later just for a drink but they said you can have drinks with food only, which does not make sense, we went to the bar nearby, I'm afraid they will loose customers because of it

What a beautiful location for a late afternoon drink in the sun yet if your not ordering food, they won’t serve you a drink. It wasn’t busy, in fact only 10% of tables were occupied, we’d have happily spent £100 on a few rounds of drinks but we took our custom elsewhere.

Not a busy day but welcomed at entrance by security & staff, told to find a seat & someone would be over to take our order. No one arrived! Waited & waited but no joy! As we left most staff were standing by the bar! What a shame, venue design & build must have been a huge investment but needs staff training & incentive to move!

Went to this place on the beach for drinks with the family. as we went to go in we were stopped by the gentleman at the gate who asked if it was for drinks or food we stated it was drinks he said if any alcohol was served we had to buy food with each alcoholic drink which ended up £11.50 per alcoholic drink. As we only had 2 alcoholic drinks and 2 bacon cobs which were not great 2x £11.50 + 7x tins coke at £3 tin absolute rip off £43 never again

The service and delivery of drinks was very quick. The staff were very professional, apart from the shouting in the food preparaction shack. However my first observation was that £7.00 was a tad expensive for a beer delivered in a plastic cup. When we arrived at the restuarant at 1210. After 20 minutes wait from placing our order, we questioned the waitress about our food and she checked with the chef and we were told our order was next. After a further 20 mins, where other customers who came in later than us recieved their food, we asked for a refund. I was sooo disappointed as, whilst the food looked really nice, it was never delivered.

What a beautiful bar and views are stunning however, what a let down the service and linked food venue The Greek was. We were seated fine in a great area even on a very busy day but to get served took ages. I even asked a chap if we could get served. He said he would send someone over but that never happened. I then asked another girl who on beach duty and we were not seated on the sand but she kindly served us. Food took forever and all we asked for was two bowls of chips. Again, I had to ask if someone could see where our food was. Finally got the chips, they were tasteless. One was meant to be with cheese. It was smothered in runny feta with olives. To add to this they had managed to drop a dirty piece of kebab which was tucked in the middle. I showed the bar staff who said it was discussing and would I like a fresh one, which I declined. He took me over to the The Greek for a refund and asked the girl who was quite rude back to him. In the end I spoke to the manger who sorted the refund and apologised. It’s apparent they are having issues with the linked food places who get orders wrong. Run by young staff. Staff on the bar side were lovely but under staffed. Such a same as the layout is wonderful.

Two star - Why? Well is at a fabulously designed beach eatery but it's a shame the food let it down. A friend and I stopped off for lunch and needless to say the view is fabulous, the sea and 7 miles of sandy beach right in front of you but... 1. the high seats are uncomfortable, no foot rest unless you have very long legs 2. the food is a bit pricey (£11.50 for a chicken wrap and a few fries) but you maybe accept this as you're on the beach 3. the wrap was too thick and chicken was over cooked, very hard and chewy and tasted like it had been grilled a few times over but the thing that stopped me eating any more was a great lump of fatty skin (under cooked)! Yuk All served on paper container and wooden cutlery which I applaud for their environmental purpose but on a windy beach it was not a great idea and the forks broke in trying to cut the chicken! The positives, well done to the service staff, very welcoming and quick service. Just need a really decent chef to oversee the quality of ingredients and cooking. Cutlery and crockery needs a rethink. I hope this reviews helps the venue management and the people visiting in the future. I really hope it can improve as it's a great spot with a continental feel & design.

Wanted to sit and have a coffee. Staff were pushy, wanting us to order food (it was 3:30pm!) but in the end let us in. The Mocha I asked for turned out to be just hot chocolate, and the Expresso's were sludge. Came in a vending machine style paper cup, not a cup and saucer as advertised out front. Limited menu anyway and no shade with the seating. Place was empty and I can understand why. Wouldn't go here again.

Tiny coffees in paper cups for £3.50 with a carton of milk like a budget hotel. What more could anyone want,? . .

This is a great place for ambiance, the decor is great, very relaxing, beautiful view of the beach and reception staff were welcoming and friendly. But! The food! Very limited menu, food covered in Greek yoghurt with cold soggy chips. This is a great idea, a nice chilled out place for a bite to eat with great decor, quite bohemian… lovely friendly staff in general, but after that it goes downhill, the food is terrible, cold and soggy, and not that cheap! The food came extremely quickly which means that it had been cooked much earlier and ready for customers, had probably been sitting there a while. This place really has to look at food quality, also the ordering system is strange, different payment and waiting staff for food and drink, you cannot order and pay for this together. I would give zero stars for the food , it was the decor and staff that brought that up to two stars.

Superb setting and design. However the breakfast menu is extremely limited. There are no vegetarian options at all! Staff are very friendly. However not sure how it’s going to work when busy as different staff for food and drinks so it’s a lottery what you’re going to get first!. Prices are acceptable for the position directly on the beach.
