BBQ Chinese Restaurant & Mr. Hong Noodles in Manchester

When my friend said, “Let’s go here. Ignore the review score, it’s good,” I didn’t realize just how great this place was. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for delicious, authentic food!

WORST SERVICE ever… the till woman in short hair even rolled eyes when she got me wrong bill like it was my fault. Feeling horrible after the service. Regret paying service charge. This is Chinese New Year's Eve and I was going there to celebrate. Completely ruined my day... The service attitude is extremely poor. I spend money to make trouble. I feel like eating a goshawk during the Chinese New Year.

The food is not bad. The service of the store clerk is terrible🐎. He rolls his eyes and points with his fingers without looking at you. Bad review! The services is very very rude! No respect to customer!

A famous Sichuan cuisine restaurant in Chinatown, recommending salt and pepper crispy pork and boiled fish. Di San Xian only has two types of vegetables, and the portion size of the potatoes is small.

Worst eating experience in uk. Even water is charged! Pork has a coquettish smell and is not fresh. The dish doesn't look like a freshly cooked dish. The waiter has a bad temper.

The restaurant’s ambience is decent, WROST SERVICE EVER！ However, one major downside significantly affected our visit: the restaurant has a strict policy against bringing in any outside beverages and requires customers to purchase drinks from their menu. This felt unnecessarily restrictive and disappointing, as it limits customer choice and adds to the overall cost. While the dining experience was generally acceptable, this policy makes it less likely that I would return or recommend the place. And the food hygiene is seriously bad. Avoid this! After I ate in this restaurant I got a diarrhoea problem! And the service attitude is so bad!

There is basically no service and the attitude of the ordering aunt is really average. I have been to more than 10 Chinese restaurants. This one is basically the one with the worst attitude. The Guobao Pork is really unpalatable. As a northerner, I really think the taste is outrageous. Moreover, the pork is not very spicy and the Maoxuewang is delicious, but only the top layer is full of bean sprouts at the bottom.

Worst Chinese restaurant I’ve ever been to in all my visits to the UK. Food was acceptable, okay. Service was the absolute WORST. The staff barely spoke English or didn’t want to speak English. The cashier was rude and kept speaking Chinese to our Vietnamese companion despite being told she couldn’t understand. Paying for the bill was IMPOSSIBLE. We didn’t even know if we were paying correctly because it was HANDWRITTEN in Chinese. And when K asked for a copy of the receipt they couldn’t give me one, instead they just wrote everything down without putting the price per item and just put the total underneath. DO NOT ATTEMPT. WOULD ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Even to my enemies.

I really like their Sichuan cuisine and kebabs, and I often take my family and friends to eat there.

I ordered a piece of braised pork, which everyone in China must have eaten before. When it came, it was carrots, beans and a white thing that seemed to be bamboo shoots, and then very fat and fat pork. It's not braised pork at all. The color is also wrong. Before I ate, I asked the waiter if this was braised pork, and she said yes. After taking a bite, it was basically fried pork with vegetables. There are pictures on the menu of what traditional braised pork looks like. I told the waiter and they said it was just a picture. . . I know it's impossible to do it exactly the same but it's actually so far off. After saying that, he didn't mean to apologize. . . When paying the bill (it must have been the store manager) he also mentioned pictures. . . Really speechless. Is it interesting for Chinese people to lie to Chinese people?

We ordered a dish based on a picture on their menu. When it arrived it was completely different, not the same colour, consistency and not the same taste that the dish usually has. When we tries to communicate to them that the dish is wrong they simply told us that that's how they always make it and refused to do anything about it. If that's how they always do it, then they shouldn't have that picture in the menu, its false advertising. The dish was £17 and we wanted it taken off the bill but they refused saying that it was just our personal taste when every single other chinese restaurant has made the dish correctly and they even had the correct version pictured on the menu. What a joke. Imagine you order a spaghetti carbonara at an Italian place and then they serve it to you with bolognese sauce, and when you complain they say thats just how they make it there and it's just your personal taste to think it should come with a cheese based sauce. They were incredibly rude to us after we told them we had an issue, we had three different people come over and argue with us. Don't waste your time coming here. The other dishes we had weren't anything to rave about either, spend your money elsewhere.

Lovely wee find. This restaurant has amazing food everyone at our table thoroughly enjoyed the food. Good sized portions for a good price.

Have lived in Asia, ordered the Kung Pao chicken, absolutely awful, sweet beyond belief. Only good was that the portion size was generous and that the service was good. Don't know if they made it to a UK taste , but if so wish they hadn't.

The lady who collected the money had a very bad attitude and never ever coming back again.

A very poor experience, arguably the worst in the UK. At the end of the meal, black plastic came out of the food, and when we told them about the problem at the checkout, they didn't even apologise and blamed us for not telling them at the first time we ate it. I went home with an upset stomach and had severe diarrhoea the next day. This is a horrible restaurant that poses a safety hazard to its customers. A very bad experience, arguably the worst experience in the UK. At the end of the meal, black plastic came out. When I told them about this problem at checkout, they didn't even apologize. Sichuan restaurant that offers two menus, one for "the English" and a more authentic "Chinese" one. We enjoyed a few dishes from the latter. The staff would not offer much help with the menu but we mostly chose well for our British tastes. But beware even the "mild spicy" dishes are hot! Overall we enjoyed the meal and it was excellent value for money at £25 per head.

We had a look at the menu outside so we had an idea of what I was going to try. We were seated and given a menu full of takeaway chinese food that was different to the menu outside. I have experienced this before and knew they’d given us the ‘English’ version. We ordered the Chefs Special Pork Intestine with chicken, homemade pork dumplings in chill oil and two portions of rice. The chefs special was far from special. The chicken was terrible, with each bite I was picking out shards of bone to the extent I started revising the Heimlich manoeuvre as a precaution. It had prison style meat vibes with an ok Sichuan flavour. The pork dumplings were average. All in all the experience was rubbish, I had spent £33 on poor food (no drinks) and to be racially stereotyped.

Delicious food in the heart of china town. Quite possibly the most sensational green beans I have ever eaten in my life, cooked with pork mm yum!! Service was a little odd, as in how our dishes were delivered, but it didn’t affect our experience at all. Certainly would have loved to taste more of the menus delights.

One person ordered two dishes in total, and the presentation was extremely appalling. The most important thing was that he ate a piece of foam in the bullfrog. The sweet and sour pork ribs had an extremely strong pig smell, which was not even covered up by such a sweet and greasy paste. I have never tasted such terrible frozen lemon tea. The service attitude was even worse. The dishes for the table next to me who ordered later than me had all been served, but I was still staring at the empty table in a daze. After repeated urging, I reluctantly served the dishes. The merchant should feel lucky because Google map can only give a minimum rating of 1 star, otherwise I would give a negative rating of 0 stars. Highly not recommended! ! !

The portions are quite large and the unit price is not high. It is considered a very hip Chinese restaurant in Manchester. Excellent value for money. The food was a disaster – low quality, stomachache for hours. The beef felt like chewing on rubber, and the utensils were disgustingly dirty. £28 per person for this? Absolutely not worth the price, a complete rip-off!

Worse noodle I had in quite a while, only have finished the beef. The noodles were over cooked, asked to change it and the staff claimed all the noodles are the same indeed.

服务态度太差了。 首先先不提我一个人刚下飞机来曼彻斯特中转火车，拎着行李箱去取现金，最离谱的是吃到一半在面条里发现一根头发，这时一个中年服务员正在我旁边和另一桌客人聊天，她的态度竟然是不断否认这头发是他们的。我就想请问一下，那你们店的意思是客人正在吃饭，喜欢把自己头发拔下来放在饭里自导自演吗？你们店里看我一个女生吃饭，觉得我好欺负罢了。最后一句“抱歉”都没有，最后即便同意退钱也是臭着一张脸，似乎是我在找茬。 我即便是女生一个人吃饭，那我也是你们的顾客。这是我来英国后最差的一次就餐体验，服务员没有家教和礼貌，歧视顾客，你们家趁早关门吧。 （对了，在这吃饭，喝杯热水都要收钱，你家还是别恶心人了。）

來過這裏很多次了，也吃過他們很多不同的菜。 我覺得最好吃的是魚，酸菜魚，水煮魚，這些都很不錯。 另外炒飯也好吃，楊州炒飯，霸王炒飯，都有鑊氣，好吃。 不過，豬肉的小菜都不是很好吃，有點乾。你可能跟英國本地豬肉品質有關。英國本地豬肉一般都比較腥，可能做出來就沒有那麼好吃？

I have to say that the waiter's attitude made me very uncomfortable, I wanted to change the restaurant but my companion didn't want to, the pot wrapped meat and the dry fried green beans tasted good, but there was too much sugar, the sour and hot potato shreds were not soaked in water, too much starch was stuck together, and the other meat was not fresh

Popped in on Saturday around 5:30pm. Restaurant was busy and buzzy. Staff were friendly and helpful- table of guys opposite never been before so asked for recommendations. Staff talked them through the menu, allergies, likes etc to help them. We had chicken satay skewers hot and sour soup, chicken chow Mein and egg fried rice with jasmine tea. My daughter said they were the best skewers ever!! Chow mein was delicious- lots of chicken and straw mushrooms(which I love ❤️). Definitely recommend.

£28ish per person for all you can eat hot pot 2 hours, includes sauce bar and bbq skewers 🍢🍢 Drinks are separate The duck soup base is really good on its own, I recommend it!!👍👍👍 Eggplant, lamb and potato skewers were delicious as well!!

Nice clean and tidy restaurant, the staff were nice and friendly and served us straight away. I ordered the spicy crispy beef with egg fried rice, very tasty and a pint of carlesberg. The food was good and well priced, I would reccomend a visit if your near the area.

Ordered one starter to share and 2 mains, all the food was served at the same time, the mains weren't hot. We had both ordered the 3 meats dish and one was really poor in comparison to the other. Didn't bother to complain as it had been difficult enough communicating with the staff just to order.

真的是一個非常差勁的用餐體驗，朋友很想吃自助火鍋，但是由於我的小孩從來都吃很少，所以訂座前，特意在餐廳網頁搜尋價錢，如果要收小童價錢，就會選擇其他餐廳，因為只看到大人的價錢，所以打電話確認一下，當時那位應該是老闆娘接聽，她說小孩不用收費，所以我們就前往用餐，火鍋食物質素一般，湯底越吃越鹹，後來完全沒辦法再吃，串燒的肉太乾，沒有肉味，最辛苦是胃痛和拉了幾天肚子，除了一位年輕的男店員服務態度很好，其他的都好像不想招呼你，態度惡劣，到付款的時候，看到帳單收了小孩半價的費用，就向店員查問，她打了給老闆娘，她不停破口大罵，說小孩沒有吃火鍋才不用付費，吃了一口都要付半價，如果我打去訂座，她這樣說，我絕對不會來，她罵了我們很久才說不收小孩的錢，免費的意思是免費入座 ?! 應該說明和寫清楚，會誤導人，因為就算在其他餐廳或者酒店吃自助餐，如果說明小孩免費，他吃或者不吃都可以，而不會到最後說他吃了一口東西就收費，如果我早一點看到其他評語，我絕對不會去吃 !!!!!!

上菜的速度很快，味道真的特别好，性价比高。但饮品价格同其他饭店比确实比较高。但总体来说非常推荐，会再去。

Usually full of Mainland Chinese patrons, this establishment offers a variety of nice dishes - with chilli as a primary additive. Therefore if you are not fond of hot & spicy food, then you may be better off elsewhere. Of course, there are some non Chillied dishes, like the lovely crispy battered Chicken in Lemon Sauce - and a variety of drinks to accompany it. Prices are average for a Chinatown restaurant, but the decor / environment is pleasant enough. The staff are OK, although I think communication would be easier if you can speak Mandarin Chinese.

Why is there no 0 point option? I have never seen such an impolite businessman. If you still need to study as a person, then the people in this store need to go to kindergarten to re-study. The experience is very poor, the service attitude is very poor, and the food is only enough for survival. Super unqualified and super rude. 前台服务差到爆炸，不会再去这家店。和同事去吃饭结账时被告知不可以分开付？在英国分开付款是一件非常正常的事情，在那个短发中年妇女这里，她近乎疯狂地说分开付就要分开坐？我问她为什么菜单上价格是7.8，却收了8.5。她没好气的翻开菜单第一页给我看，我在想你就是做服务行业的，客户有问题不应该用嘴解释嘛？该说的话一句不说，哔哔赖赖说自己干了这么久从没遇见要分单的？还说找老板干什么、都在忙谁管你这事！没见过这么豪横的服务员，顿时吃的饭都要被恶心的吐出来！垃圾服务！我是来吃饭的不是来吃气的！垃圾服务，中年短发妇女，戾气十足！

Most authentic Sichuan cuisine I’ve had in UK! Sichuan people approved 👍 Lovely staff as well.

Waited forever for the hotpot to boil…. It’s a buffet but we hardly got through the first round. Only the spicy soup base boiled so whoever not fancy spicy barely had anything to eat or give in… Make sure you ask for electric cooker or forget about it. If you need a baby chair make sure you request beforehand. They only have 1 high chair available. Such an disappointing event.

The hotpot buffet was so worth it (£25.9 per head)! Large beef portions, super spicy Szechuan soup base, delicious skewers (specially BBQ chicken wings and steamed buns). We requested for the vegetarian tomato soup base, but it tastes a bit bland. One star off for the not very vegetarian-friendly soup base choices, and that the first order of beef’s portion was too large and may lead to food waste. FYI, the Chinese name of the restaurant is 川鍋香.
