Just had a lovely meal at The Baytree. Varied menu, great central location, lovely friendly and helpful staff who were happy to chat, and advise. Nice surroundings / decor. Lovely food cooked to a very good standard and presented nicely. Attentive staff who obviously enjoy and care about what they do. Cannot praise enough, and will definitely go again when in the area. Thank you.

This is a lovely restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere. Staff very friendly and food excellent. We both had the bass and noodles. Very tasty and generous portion of fish. We then had the amaretto and coffee ice cream dessert which was a bit of fun. Fair price would recommend.

Awful. Ordered a ‘posh’ finger sandwich for lunch (£10.95) - it was anything but posh!! It arrived fairly promptly but the fish was extremely dry and chewy, the breadcrumb very thick and overcooked. I did wonder whether it had been reheated from the previous day, it had that sort of taste to it… It was hard to attract the waiters’ attention (it was busy) so I ate what I could (the bread and side salad was ok) because I was so hungry. When the waiting staff did ask if everything was ok with our meals, I mentioned the chewy fish but was met with a very disinterested ‘oh, we’ll let the chef know’ and that was that. No apology. Will not be returning!

The food was delicious which included the lamb fillet ( gluten free) meal and the chicken stack meal and pavlova dessert. The atmosphere and staff excellent. I would recommend it.
