Basco's in Leeds

Second visit to this restaurant and really enjoyed it. Quite a big range of food from many different countries. What we had was very good, nicely presented and the service was also great. Outside seating also available on those dryer days. Would strongly recommend.

First time visit but we will be back! The waitress, sorry I didn't get her name but she might remember us asking if she'd heard of Gracie Abrams and then chatting about Duran Duran! 5 star service! Amazing! Treated us extremely well. The coffee was of a good quality , and the food full of filling and flavour. Almost didn't have room for the fries - almost. Grand Chicken Burger highly recommended! Atmosphere was excellent, so with fantastic staff, high quality food and a great tasting coffee, what's not to love. As a live music promoter I've offered two tickets to the lady who served us - great service is deserved of reward. Her know her boss values her. Thank you again for a great and memorable experience. We WILL be back.

Called in for a light lunch, left absolutely stuffed full of gloriousness. Apologised that there was a long wait when we ordered but it didn’t feel like it, and they kept us informed along the way. Trust me, the food is well worth any wait you may have. Brilliant experience that will be repeated the next time I’m in Leeds.

Was looking forward to coming in here as it looked busy and I would always try and support independent businesses. Unfortunately the service was dreadful and the food not great either. I ordered poached eggs, when it arrive it was practically thrown at me. And then when I cut in to the egg it was filled with water which filled up my plate and soaked in to the toast. I explained what had happened to the waitress and requested another plate. There was no offer of a replacement dish or even egg even though what was left was pretty inedible. She just chucked another plate at me and I had to try and transfer it over with hollandaise sauce dripping everywhere. I had to leave most of it as the bread was wet through and the remaining egg was over done. My husband had ordered a beer which didn’t arrive. We had to chase it twice. When she finally brought it she slammed it down on the table un opened. We hastily asked for the bill only to see to that they had charged us for 2 beers. This was rectified when pointed out. Won’t return. There are lots more excellent places with much better service in Leeds.

Went for breakfast at 10am - pretty much as soon as it opened. We love to go out for breakfast and this was the best place we’ve been to in Leeds. We had iced mochas, eggs flourtine on waffles and halloumi and sweetcorn fritters. I wish both meals had come with two poached eggs rather than just the one, or if I’d have known I’d have asked for an extra. But the menu was interesting, and different to usual brunch spots - and the food was delicious. The waitress was also lovely and friendly, and we weren’t rushed to clear out even though we were a walk in and it seemed particularly busy once we were leaving.

Went on a Saturday morning and sadly suffered shockingly slow service. We only had time for a quick coffee but coffees took over 20 minutes to arrive. Staff didn’t seem apologetic. Other tables were equally complaining / asking where their food was, waiting staff just seemed to wander round trying to avoid contact with customers. It’s probably not a bad place to go if you’re happy to wait long time - food did look nice. But not a good place to go if you’re in a rush like we were.

Came here for Brunch Sunday morning 07/04/2024. The place was busy, which is always a good sign, and we managed to get the second to last table. I ordered the Royale Waffles, and my husband had the Chicken and Waffles. Both were define. The menu also has so much choice, and it took a while to decide what to chose, because, I could have ordered so many items from it. Staff were excellent. Its a shame they couldn't take tips from a card when paying. Cash tips only, so I will remember to ensure we have some cash next time we visit.

Lovely find in Leeds City centre. Plenty of choice. Even for fussy beige food eater with us. She said best french toast ever had. I had savory waffle beaut. Good coffee. Freshly squeezed orange. Food amazing. Will definitely be back. Need to try the cakes!!

Second visit and didn’t disappoint- busy, efficient, great food , generous portions to say the least and great service always - the best place in Leeds for brunch by far - book as it does get full quickly. My only comment this time was as we arrived a very pretty young lady with gorgeous red lipstick saw us and walked straight past - this ‘never get a second chance to make a first impression’ came to mind- if it had been our first visit we would have walked away but thankfully know the majority of staff there are brilliant. It remains a mystery to me that if you don’t like Jo public don’t work in the hospitality sector. But yes we will be back - often

Basco's Cafe Bistro is without a doubt the best place to eat in Leeds.. The food is first class and delicious and the staff areso friendly and always welcoming. And for me it's a short trip up the M1 from Barnsley!

Came upon this lovely venue whilst shopping and we liked the fact it was busy and the menu looked interesting! Food was delicious and the cocktails were just as nice! Can’t wait to return!

What a lovely place to have breakfast. We had to leave Bills because they wouldn't accommodate my egg allergy. We stumbled across this place and it's everything Bills isn't. Small, family run, genial staff and the food was excellent. Support local restaurants!!!!

I first saw this place on Instagram and was chomping at the bit to go! A small cafe/restaurant that has a nice atmosphere and caters to everyone. I had seen the chicken and waffles on Instagram and they looked really good so I thought I must try them and I was not disappointed, a large portion of crispy chicken served on a waffle with two poached eggs, yes! It does work and surprisingly well. The chicken so tender and juicy with the crunch of the batter and the softness of the waffle. All the waiters and waitresses are very attentive and active all the time, you cannot fault. I have been quite a few times and had some other dishes which are good also! I do believe whatever you get here you will enjoy, I certainly believe it is value for money wether you go just for a coffee or a meal. Highly recommend

Although the portion size in generous, paying £13 for a frittata omelette seems a bit pricey. The food quality is good. penne arabiatta was pricey fair compared to other restaurants. Breakfast/brunch meals seem overpriced. The service was extremely slow.

Been here over a hundred times since coming to uni, literally my favourite place to eat in Leeds. The owner is mega sound, always so welcoming. Will probably come every week till i move back home. 10/10.

Quickly got sat however we were rudely greeted and menus thrown at us. It then took 15 minutes for the guy with the tied up hair to come back over to us to get a drinks order despite other tables being seen almost instantly after being sat after us. It then took a further 35 minutes for food to arrive. Disappointed is I’ve only heard good things before my own experience
