Never had bad food but never been blown away. Nice enough steak. Good service and reasonably priced. Reliable food I would say

This was our first time to stay. We had an excellent booking in experience. Staff our friendly and professional. We had a family room and a double. Both were very comfortable although the thermostat was stuck in family room and was too warm. The staff were very attentive to try to resolve this. We had dinner in the Baretta bar & grill. Again friendly professional staff were knowledgeable about our various questions about items on menu. A wine glass was cracked that wine was served in. It was replaced without any fuss and wine replaced free of charge. Great customer service 👍👍👍. Food was delicious. The grill was busy but the service was not compromised because of this. Breakfast was self service. Variety of items is what you would expect. A thumbs up for the toaster that actually browned the bread!! Again staff were attentive as we had young people with us. Very helpful. The cooked breakfast items were freshly cooked. Soft eggs, not dried up and properly cooked bacon. We enjoyed our short stay at the hotel and will definitely stay again.

Went with family for dinner. Food was nice but the waiting time was absolutely awful, we were waiting over 40min for our meal which is far far to long( even tho wasnt very busy), dont wanna even think of when gets busy, we already finished all drinks and when food arrived we had nothing to drink.

The place is lovely, but the staff are fabulous. Very attentive and charming. The food was delicious. I had the roast of the day which was beef and done just how I like it. There was tons of potato d vegetables, and cooked to perfection. The fruit pavlova was light and delicious.

Have visited the restaurant several times in the past and were always pleased with our cold lunch. To-day we found that there is no longer cold lunch on the menu, all hot meals which were very disappointing. I had Caesar salad, it was a plateful of lettuce with dry chicken (awful) my husband had burger which was dry and unappetising. Next time I (from Cornwall) arrange to meet my friend in Omagh it will be at a different restaurant.

Where to start? So close this establishment could have been a ten out of ten . What let it down I hear you say ? We walked into the dining area and stood and stood and stood , at last a employee walked towards us and enquired if we had a reservation to which we replied yes we had, he walked off in the direction went in came out then went behind the bar. A waiter then came and asked if we had been seen to , to which we replied yes but the person had gone behind the bar. Anyway we were shown to a table and given menus, after what seemed like ten minutes I rose to go to the bar for pre dinner drinks but intercepted a waiter who I came to realise was the dining room manager. Two minutes he came to our table to take a drinks order my partner asked for a white wine in a tall glass with ice I asked for a gin and lemonade and when asked if I wanted it in a balloon glass or a tall glass I opted for tall glass as the manager agreed with me the amount of ice in a balloon glass soon diluted the gin. The drinks came . The white wine in a wine glass and no ice . The gin in a balloon glass. Onto the starters , my partners Brie came and yes it looked very nice, so she waited and waited and waited for my pork belly to come. After what seemed like an eternity it came. It was amazing . The pork belly I love anyway but the salad on which it was served hmmmm radish chillis cabbage onion and chilli sauce , beautiful. We both had salmon on crushed baby potatoes and it was excellent. Food beautiful service below par .

Normally I go to the local coffee shops in Omagh for lunch but decided to go to the Silverbirch Hotel for a change. It was the tastiest lunch I’ve had in ages. The soup was homemade and the wheaten bread was so tasty and flavoursome. We also had the goats cheese flatbread with dips which was also outstandingly tasty and my mum had fresh tempura scampi. Everything was exceptional with an extensive menu to suit all tastes and cost acceptable. The service was super. I’ll be back here again soon. Thank you.

I have been coming here for years and still my choice of venue in Omagh...good portions good food .A bit more selection would be good.

Very nice bar/grill. Hotel and restaurant upgrade also good. Food quality, variety and taste average or below. Caesar Salad a disaster. Garlic/parsley fries good. Curry mediocre. Poor food choices for vegetarians. No pepper in pepper mill. Coffee ordinary. Shortbread cookies were a winner.

We ate here while on a short stay in Onagh for a match. Very friendly staff and a lovely, clean, spacious place to eat and relax in. Even though the town was packed with match going supporters and the Silverbirch hotel was hopping, it was still very pleasant and was the perfect place to unwind. The food was okay, nothing wrong with it at all but it wasnt amazing or anything either. We had very nice vegetable soup and a rather plain burger Would I eat here again? Definitely. The food hit the spot. But its not going to win Michellin Stars or anything.

Great choice of food and drink, not expensive and amazing food, all staff very helpfull and friendly

I had not liked the food here a few times in the past so had not been for a couple of years. However, I have eaten here 3 times recently and each meal has been very good, and reasonably priced too. Sevice is friendly (though it can be hard to get staff's attention) and the coffee is good. It is conveniently located with its own parking.

Myself and Family have ate in Barreta Many time's coming up to our wedding and each and every meal was fantastic, great flavor, great service and highly recommend everyone to try this restaurant.

A pity, as the hotel looks stunning - hats off to the interior designers and architects, and the hotel management for selecting them. Good service.

I attended a wedding here recently and as I was eating my main course of turkey and ham I bit into something very hard and crunchy. I didn't think much of it at first and assumed it was just a hard piece of food so I continued to eat but it became more and more uncomfortable as I chewed. After swallowing a piece I spat the rest out and found that it was glass! Yes, it was a small shard but it was unmistakable. The staff tried to cover it up and didn't even apologise. I was quite shaken by this and felt very put off eating anything else. I was also shocked to hear about how uneducated the staff were on vegans. There were a few vegans at the party and the hotel had been informed of this but they were completely unprepared for feeding them. One girl asked would they like pavlova for dessert after they informed her that they were vegans - surely a waitress should know what vegans do and don't eat? Apparently this is not the case at the Silverbirch Hotel, as another waitress even asked the question, "What is a vegan?" I can say with great certainty that I will not be eating here again and I recommend that others don't either.

A great place to meet up with people. The food is simple but delicious and well priced. There is a wide variety and the staff are always willing to make slight changes.

This Bar is part of the Silverbirch Hotel, and it is nicely stocked, and has friendly staff, there are plenty of places to sit, really couldn’t find fault, and would definitely return,

Dinner was very slow, waited a long time between starter and main then 4 out of 5 arrived, my dinner arrived when everyone else were half way through even though I ordered plain salmon and mash only. Took ages for dessert too even though only 3 options. Staff were nice.

Lovely and warm atmosphere, great food and wine. The interior of the restaurant was lovely and warm and provided a romantic and cosy atmosphere.

I visited the Barreta Bar, in the Silverbirch Hotel in Omagh, along with a good friend as part of a 'secret shop' visit. My first impressions were excellent - a genuinely friendly yet professional welcome. The young man behind the bar listened to our requests and even though he hadn't made the drink we requested before, he did so then! When we went to the restaurant, the service was exceptional as was the food.

Been before, generally a good bet. On in the group ordered braised beef, which they were looking forward to. When it came it was clearly just thin cut roat beef, nothing braised about it at all. We complained to the waiter who simply affirmed that it was braised beef. Disappointing, but short of ruining the meal for everyone, what do you do?

The food at barreta bar and grill is expensive but nice. Breakfast, there is a selection of cereals fruits and cheeses to choose from, as well as a small selection of cooked breakfasts.

food was brilliant at our staff night out, service was friendly and efficient. We all had a good night out, good selection on the menu and even better cocktails!

We chose the restaurant and bar for our large family reunion. It was booked well ahead so I was disappointed to be seated next to the swinging door of the kitchen.

La comida era muy buena y la selección en el menú era excelente. El servicio era fantástico y el personal era muy amable. Comimos allí el sábado por la noche y había música. La música era genial, pero a veces un poco ruidoso. Yo recomendaría altamente.

Nos alojamos en el hotel silverbirch, así que tiene sentido que, para comer en el restaurante, aunque no soy un fan de los restaurantes del hotel, ya que normalmente la falta de ambiente y comida deliciosa! Sin embargo Baretta Silverbirch Bar en los descansos con esta preconcepción. El personal era excelente, el ambiente era perfecto y la comida era nada de primera clase. La carne asada y el lento era suculento acompañamiento de verduras fue preparado 'correctamente'! El pescado en la segunda noche fue excelente. Incluso un pequeño problema con el arranque de la segunda noche se realizó sin ningún problema, excelente servicio de atención al cliente y, por tanto, completa, de 5 estrellas. Muy recomendado.

10 out of 10! Delicious food, well presented with excellent service. We were a party of 10 who had a set Christmas menu offering 3/4 choices at each course. Each of us were very happy with every course. Great atmosphere in the bar & lively staff who are happy to have a bit of chat whilst ensuring we had all we could have wanted.

Went for dinner Saturday night as had heard the hotel had been renovated and was looking forward to a nice meal. Other than christmas decorations everything was pretty much as before. Very poor menu in a very average dining area. Nothing has changed and the food is a poor as ever. Staff helpful but slow and inexperienced. Very small menu to order from with poor selection of side orders, veg and potatoes tasteless, only for the salmon. The reviews on their web site are all very promising but I could see nowhere to add my HONEST opinion?? Looks staged. I live local and have spoken to numerous people who were also disappointed with their visit. Wont be back until food improves ALOT!

My husband and I found the food to be mediocre and not particular well seasoned. Wait staff was OK. Nothing Exceptional.

Great food on the nIght and as the evening progressed the craic was getting better. Efficient and friendly staff there was good atmosphere throughout couldn't fault a thing.

We went on a Sunday evening for a couples meal and ended up wishing we had gone elsewhere! It was neither bar nor restaurant, with cramped tables and little atmosphere. The menu was very basic and the food was ok but not great (the chips were especially disappointing because they weren't crispy or home made) and didn't make up for the poor surroundings. You can get much much better meals locally for the same price.

I normally don't fuss too much about eating out but I feel that this needs to be said. I recently found out I have celiac disease and before booking the Silverbirch my girlfriend specifically checked to see if they cater for gluten free. They assured us that they had 'many options and could cater fully for us'. On arriving this couldn't be further from the truth. The 'options' were burgers... minus the buns. Seriously that's what the waiter said. So basically the options are the same good items just minus bits - at the same price. Ceoliac is an illness not a diet choice. Quite apart from this, veg was frozen, the mash micro'ed and I had a single slice of ham in my turkey ham 'roast'. Of which 0% went near an oven to be cooked. Avoid this place, you'll thank me.

Had lunch here on Sat, took 30mins to be served then I had to return my meal 3 times, first as it wasn't what I ordered, next two occasions because it wasn't cooked. Only I had to return my meal, I do believe that the other person in our group would not have received their meal, his had been forgotten about. Manager never bothered to contact me to even try to explain and apologise. Not good enough.

Came here both as a family party and as a smaller group. Service was abysmal each time. Waiting time for food was very long, usually over an hour, and when the food did arrive it was pretty cold and congealed. Both times some people's meals arrived after everyone else had finished. The food was poor, the bruschetta very soggy, the puddings incredibly dry. Always something missing from various plates without explanation or warning. The waiting staff presented us with things we did not order and tried to convince us that we did. The staff were sullen and slow, making no effort to apologise for the appalling affair. When it came to dessert, we all ordered knickerbocker glory and some brownies with vanilla ice cream. We waited half an hour and were then informed there was no vanilla to go with the brownies. I asked about the knickerbocker glories and it was clear they had intended to serve it with chocolate ice cream instead which would not have been very pleasant and did not intend to inform us. We then said we would rather leave and the waiter looked cross and offered no apology. Every time we have eaten there it has been so very bad, largely because of the incompetence and bad attitude of the staff. Will never visit again.

We had the starter for 2 thinking then have main course. Absolutely stuffed and too much could have fed 3 and didn't need main course.

To start off we ordered 3 lemon & lime & it was half full we asked to top it off & were denied by a blonde dressed in black at the check out. The staff were young but very friendly.We ordered a chicken burger, chicken maryland & a Risotto.I had the risotto which was delicious but it was a very small portion. I was so. disappointed as I still hungry when I finished it.Needless to say the whole experience left me very upset in which spoiled my family night out. We dont go out much and to have mini size portions of main & side order at Baretta was very disappointing. I feel cheated!There were no clear management checking out with the customers & what would have cost them to top up our drinks that were served by half?I will never go back again!

Called on 13 Jan 2016. Food was awful to include stale wheaten bread, frozen chips,steak not cooked properly. The worst thing was the desert. Ordered a knicker bocker glory and got a glass full of compote, custard, dried nuts and raisans. My family have visited this hotel for many years and it has been continually sliding. Its a last for me. Mcdonalds in omagh would give u better at a fraction of the cost.

Ete here twice lunch and evening meal and on both occasions had lovely food. Would definately recommend.

Went here for lunch just before Christmas and thought it might be a treat to get out of the hustle and bustle of central Omagh(this place is a short drive out the Gortin road). The restaurant itself is quite pleasant, with tables laid out around a large bar as shown in the main photo. Good spacing between tables, so you don't feel you are squashed in with other diners as with many other places in Omagh. However, after being pleasantly received on arrival and promptly shown to our table, we were then promptly ignored, to the point where we had to ask a senior member of staff if we might be able to order. He said he'd send us someone directly and after another five minute wait he came himself saying he didn't know what the waiter on our section was doing. Not encouraging. There wasn't a huge selection on the menu, but it was adequate to offer the four of us a choice. When we ordered we were amazed at the speed with which the food came, in fact it arrived at the table, coincidently, at the same time as our drinks order from the bar, which although not ideal, was fine. One of our table ordered a beef stroganoff, quite what it had to do with a stroganoff was a topic of much discussion at our table. It was like a beef stew with a packet of some kind of dried sauce ingredients with stroganoff like flavours mixed up with water. Truly vile! Two of our party had better luck in having a roast lamb dish and a roast beef dish, both apparently very nice. I myself had a sausage and mash dish, which was pleasant but nothing spectacular. Overall I wasn't impressed, particularly if this is the only hotel offering in Omagh town. Surely the people of Omagh, if not those of us visiting, deserve better than this. I imagine even the staff might feel more rewarded working in a place better managed and of an overall higher standard.

Probably the worst restaurant experience we have ever had. We sat in the lounge area as we were waiting for 2more of our party to turn up, we asked a server if we could order drinks to which he replied "I don't know". When he went and confirmed that we could order a drink in a hotel bar, i asked what kind of cider they had. "I dont know, just the usual" was the response. My sister said she would go and check. Our drinks were delivered to us 20mins later. After we had ordered our food, we were taken up to the restaurant- we all had to carry our own drinks, not an offer of getting a tray and taking them up to the table. Dinner arrived...i ordered seabass...very small portions but tasty all the same. My sister had ordered the half chicken roast- it was more like an escalope. My dad and brother ordered salmon, the menu stated what should have been a lovely plate of food but how wrong were we...a piece of salmon on a plate with a small bunch of leaves...that was it. We did complain and the guy was very apologetic, they did bring out the food that was missing off one of the plates of salmon not realising we had 2 people having salmon. We ordered dessert, a server came to the table with sticky toffee pudding...and put it in front of my sister. She was waiting for the rest of us to be served before tucking into her food only to have the server come back, lift the sticky toffee pudding from her saying his head was away. He took the pudding to another person at a different table. When the correct desserts were brought to us they were really lovely but we were so disappointed by our whole evening. My sister was home from Oz, i was home from Scotland, my brother home from England and we were out for a nice meal and a catch up...absolute shame!

We booked an overnight stay in the Silverbirch Hotel. Had a 3 course Meal. Excellent food. Piping hot & very well presented. Great choice on menu & very helpful staff. Breakfast was also excellent, Loads of choice & again very tasty.

Fab hot freshly cooked food, followed by a lovely pint of guinness...mmmm.....we ate here each evening , a lovely lovely treat.......

We attended during a very busy weekend for the town and have to say we were well looked after by the staff. Well presented portions of food, including some of the most succulent roast beef I've tasted in a long while. Will definitely be back again.

My family and I often visit the restaurant at the hotel and normally have nothing to complain about however the new menu has disappointed us. No curry anymore, no duck...two of our favourites. One of us ordered a salad but it was 99% leaves. Very disappointed that the traditional menu has gone.

Ate here on 2 nights while staying at the hotel. Food was excellent, piping hot, served with a smile and very reasonably priced. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff even when they were full to the brim. Would highly recommend.

meal was served hot and in good time. table service was brilliant. We had a 3 course meal. starter of soup which was very tasty. main course was roast beef, the gravy was delicious. meal piping hot.. dessert was yum yum ..

Went here recently with some colleagues from work for lunch.We all ordered either hot wraps or paninis. These cost £6 each, and only come with a small bowl of coleslaw and a little salad garnish. When you add the cost of a soft drink the price is over £8 which for a light lunch is a little too much.....I did enjoy my Panini which was well presented and tasted good, however they did mix up our order! There were six of us, and they managed to forget one of the orders! When they realised the mistake they did however resolve the problem quickly.So, really a mixed experience.......

Ate here while staying in hotel. We had a lovely meal with excellent service.I had soup to start and it looked a little different - broth with chunks of vegetable - but it tasted lovely. I had a burger for my main and asked for all kinds of changes - all of which were done. It was absolutely lovely.The service was excellent throughout - until we needed to get the bill. It's a pet peeve of mine to find it difficult to get the bill - and it's the reason I'm giving a 4 rather than a 5 here. Even when we eventually managed to ask for it, it took a while to come. I know it's a balancing act between delivering to too quickly and making people feel they need to leave - but it must have been obvious we were trying to get someone's attention - with empty plates and glasses in front of us!

Lovely meal and well presented. Pleasant and friendly staff. The menu choice waasmore than adequate and the steak in particular was cooked just as requested!

Mega portions and good value on offer here but the dishes can be a bit hit and miss. The Hoisin duck spring roll starters are definitely the highlight and there's a decent range of beers on offer and they serve a mean pint of Guinness and Bass that went down a treat.

Enjoyed nice lunches and light snacks during our stay, and received excellent, friendly service from each of the staff.The menu is varied and there is plenty of choice whether you want just a small starter or three/four course meal. The desserts are home made and the portions are huge! Make sure you arrive hungry to enjoy the delicious food.

Two words - Hospital Dinners.The food is boiled, then boiled and later boiled again. Very poor lunch from the limited menu were offered. Five main course we tried three - all of them overcooked and tasteless.

the service here was so good the food was amazing and such good value . the staff are so so friendly and couldnt do enough for us definately makes the hotel worth a visit .

I enjoyed excellent roast beef with lots of veg but there were no roast potatoes. Nice home cooked style food and good value.
