My friend had purchased a voucher for afternoon tea with Prosecco. In fairness the staff were nice, but the selection of cakes was pretty poor and certainly not what they show on their website. 1 tiny piece of carrot cake/ginger cake/ old school cake. 1 strawberry tart. A pinky sized eclair (looked straight from Costco IMO) and a bite size doughnut. They had provided 2 scones, but no-one had left out clotted cream…pointless. The sandwiches were, quite frankly, rotten. In fact the ham sandwich had no butter. All in all it felt like an afterthought. My friend felt so terrible that this lovely gift she had purchased had turned out to be so poor. Really not a good look 1808…not when similar establishments elsewhere do so much better.

Never had food, so no comment Good selection of beers, spirits and cocktails, live sport was on the tvs, but couldn't see the scores since the subtitles were on. Good attentive staff who were preparing for the evening events. Will be back

It's a lovely setting and a good selection of drinks. I really have to protest though at paying £13.95 for what could only be described as a child's portion of lasagne. I did ask the waiter if perhaps I'd been served a half portion - he did check for me but confirmed it was correct. Genuinely poor value that couldn't be justified.

The cocktails were great the DJ on a Saturday night was pretty terrible

My wife was charged £1.10 for a packet of crisps which says on the packet not for resale part of a multi pack. I don't think you are allowed to sell them

A great night out!! We had a drink upstairs, a lovely meal and drinks Downstairs, then excellent vocal/musical duo entertained us with a wide range of music , from the 60s (The Doors!) To present!! 👏👏

Great staff. Lovely outlook on to garden. We love the Tontine. Had family wedding christenings and birthdays there. Always great.

Disappointed in food. Almost all of the wraps had tuna filling. The scones were hard, we had to ask for jam & cream. Service however was very good.

Service just okay but would have expected better as was very quiet. Food was not great. And after they had called us days before our booking, for which we had already paid a deposit, to say that they were no longer offering the deal we had booked for, charging us £1 EACH for a few facemasks which some of the group had forgotton, without even informing us that these would be charged for, was a kick in the teeth. We won't be hurrying back.

Waited over 30 minutes before we had a drink order. And over 2 hours before our food came out. Shambles.

Enjoyed the afternoon tea but is really out of the way to go for a drink. There's not much near it now with Riley's closing.

First time in bar eighteen 08 . Thought it was great very clean. It's also fantastic to have background music that you don't have to shout over when your talking.

Lovely addition to the Tontine Hotel. Great look and feel. Indoor seating with tables amd booths as well as outside seating for when the weather is nice. Great food and great service too.

Beautiful place had afternoon tea with my mum and sisters and niece. For birthday my sister requested prior plain sandwiches but never had and had to ask for more I felt not enough for money paid and ended up paying more for more food. Don't think would do again not good value for money. X but beautiful place x

lovely afternoon tea, with prosecco, loads of food and what was left over got boxed up for us to take home, great value for money. we then went on to enjoy loads of fab cocktails fantastic day/ night and prices reasonable. My only downside was later on i was hungry and food had stopped being served so jad to leave and go elsewhere or i would have happily stayed the rest of the evening.

Booked a table for 5 for Sunday lunch. Ordered a chicken sizzler. When it arrived it was chicken served in a bowl covered in sauce. Only warm certainly not sizzling. The chicken was dry and overcooked. Tasted like it had been precooked, warmed up then covered in sauce. My friend ordered butterfly chicken which consisted of 2 small portions of chicken which again was dry and overcooked. Poorly presented. Not one person was impressed with the meal they received. I complained to a staff member who wasn't really interested and they said they would mention my comments to the kitchen. I certainly won't be returning.

Nice bar for a wee quiet drink on a Monday night. Enjoyed a couple of cocktails.

Went downhill in the last few months. The staff don't know how to make proper cocktails anymore and substituting loads of ice and cheap spurits for premium brands just makes the place a cleaner version of the Horshoe bar.

Amazing new bar designed by Richard Robb Architects in Gourock. Great selection of food and drinks... amazing coctails. Live band played last night (Saturday night)

I'll be heading back here for definite. Cocktails for a fiver, plenty of bar staff, good tunes and comfortable seating.
