Amazing food amazing staff very helpful and friendly recommended it to anyone

Used to be my favourite chippy but unfortunately my work schedule means I only get there around 8 and they are open to 8.30 but they always look like they just want to close and it's a hassle to them and end up with lovely nice fresh fish with stale barely warmed up chips, it's happened now around 5-6 times so time to find a new chippy. They should just close at 8 if its such a big hassle to them or drop their prices after 8 if they are going to serve chips that should really just be put straight in the bin. I wouldn't mind but plenty of people came in after me and they had to put fresh chips in for them (with a lot of eye rolling and comments like "oh well, it was wishful thinking" between themselves) which I assume means they wanted to close early and we are all just an inconvenience to them for wanting food but then still served me the cold leftover chips they had kept to one side in a cardboard box rather than fresh ones so not going there again as standards have really dropped over the last year Edit: No point thanking me for my review then going on with yourself about how its all in my imagination, I was actually trying to be polite as you have sold me chips fit for the bin the last 6 times I've been there and it's never once been more than a couple of minutes after 8pm I agree you can serve lovely fresh food as used to always be decent but you choose not to now and to sell off your cold stale reheated chips to some customers rather than lose any money on them but your fine for me to keep wasting my money on them each time I just try get a decent meal from you? So instead of trying to belittle customers who leave feedback you don't like on here, maybe try take the honest feedback and stop treating customers like they are a hassle just because they arrive 30 minutes before you close as it's very obvious and then palming them off with rubbish food that ends up with most of it in the bin, I don't need to phone you about it when you've done it every time I've been the last half dozen times, My wife actually asked me to leave this review and she never leaves them ever for anywhere but it's every time now and we unwrap it to find you've done the same again with decent fish with stale reheated chips so we wouldn't buy from there again

Previously a favourite but tonight got flat out ignored in favour of 2 other customers, 1 that came in a full 10 minutes after me. My partner's had the same thing happen in the past too, just seems rude. Edit: To be clear in light of the response I was waiting to order, not waiting *for* my order. I didn't bother placing one after getting ignored the second time and went elsewhere.

The price hurts my wallet, but the quality of the chips & gravy make up for it. The food could be considered restaurant worthy, definitely my favourite place to get chips from and well worth a visit even if you're from out of town.

All I can say is BEST chippy in atherton, food is well cooked staff are brilliant and they don't skimp on the portion size ,make it your local .

Delicious fish and chips, high quality potatoes used for chips, friendly staff, good prices in comparison to amount of food you get, very clean and atmospheric place. Highly recommended in Atherton!

Had a delivery for tea today. Food arrived within 20 minutes, piping hot and the battery still crispy on my fish. Food was excellent. Service is always outstanding as we usually visit the shop. This was our first delivery experience and after a long, challenging day it was amazing to have a fabulous meal delivered to the door

The chippy has been taken over now and it`s for the better. It`s nice and clean and the fish and chips are delicious

How tasty is this chippy 😋 we stopped here on way back from a job to wythenshawe, so glad we didnt wait until we got home to our usual sloppy tasteless chipshop Absolute quality food, freshly cooked to order, small fish,chips & gravy £5.90 FYI the gravy here is well worth the £1 i saw a moan about on another review haha Large fish chips curry..all scoffed as we sat outside It was a really good find & hope to visit again when in the area

Found this place by accident and turned out to be best fish and chips I've had in 20 years living in northwest. Lovely clean shop, friendly staff and clearly a very talented fryer.

This is a very nice fish and chip shop! It sells a range of food such as traditional fish and chips, kebabs and lots of other delicious food. The place is spotlessly clean, the prices are good and the staff are friendly.

Worst fish and chips in atherton. Small portions, greasy chips that seem soaked in oil and leave an aftertatste on your tongue and bloody expensive for portion size

Delicious recommend fish chips and peas

Asked for pudding chips and grey but got peas as well. Got a pudding, small amount of chips, even smaller peas but a bucket of gravy. Ended up soggy and unedable. Always been a good feed till now

Good value. No frills. Average price. Ask for a small size for children or adults with average appetites as their normal size is generous. Chips are very tasty. There is a kebab bar inside the fish and chip shop. No seating. Just a take away.

Brilliant chips shame they dont do anything gluten free though. Greasy green lane chippy for now then

Fantastic chippy, always seems to sell fresh chips even when I have gone late for lunch or very early. The selection of food on offer is perfect and the rag puddings are delicious and the fish is huge and tastes fresh.
