Ask Italian in Malvern Hills

It's always a good sign when there's not a high turnover of staff. At Malvern Ask Italian, it's been Alicija and the guy with 4 daughters ! for years and they both do a great job. The place is always busy, friendly and efficient. Food always good and the atmosphere always lively and warm. 5 stars.

Ask in Malvern is a great restaurant, I have been there several times and the food is always good. Alex and his friendly team of staff are very efficient. We enjoyed the meals - they have a wide range of menu choices and something for everyone!

We were only in Great Malvern a week and we came here several times. Great food and great service. Miss Jorja was quite lovely. She has a wonderful sense of humor and was a fantastic waitress.

We've eaten here a lot over the years & have dine & dash down to a fine art when it comes to pre theatre dining. Know the menu & order the food with your drinks. Helps with the speed! Some new faces on the serving staff. I hope Alicja & Lee are still there. I chose the seafood tagliatelle which the head chef changed from a creamy sauce to a tomato based chilli one. Many thanks for that. Much better in my opinion. My daughter managed to scoff an entire margarita pizza! Always a friendly, relaxed atmosphere here. Busy at 6 pm but was organised.

Lovely evening, staff were very friendly and helpful...me and my partners meal were small portion wise though, didn't feel it equalled the price we paid.

Ask in Malvern is a bit unusual because you enter at street level but go upstairs to the dining room where there is also an outside area for when weather is good. We were there for a pre-theatre lunch as were several other tables (the theatre is just a short walk away). The food was very good and showed some imagination unlike many chain Italian restaurants. My calamari starter was in straight strips for eating by hand which was unusual but still tasted good. My prawn and crayfish with frilly tagliatelle was delicious with generous portions of the shellfish, plenty chilli and a rich sauce. The wine was reasonably priced and good quality. Throughout the waiter was fantastic - full of enthusiasm and very chatty, he couldn't have been more helpful. We're looking forward to returning for dinner in a couple of weeks.

Really surprised how good the food was and the service was excellent.Although the restraunt was large it still had an atmosphere that provided a pleasant experience.

A pre show dinner at the Great Malvern Ask Italian. Great friendly service and nice food. Portions are very generous. Early evening but quite a few people dining so a good atmosphere.

Ordered three delivery pizza via Just Eat on Tuesday Evening. The driver turned up slightly late and with the wrong order ! called Ask and it turns up that they gave the driver the wrong food parcel. The driver was kind enough to make another trip to collect the pizzas. But had to call Ask again to make sure the food was still coming as we waited a long time. We eventually had luke warm pizza 45 mins late. The outer crust of the pizza was rock solid, beyond crunchy. Neither we not the driver got an apology from Ask and i had to give the driver a generous tip for making an unpaid trip. Overall a bad experience.

Friendly staff and nice atmosphere.

The pizza oven was offline for the evening, but the staff went out of their way to make sure we all got something good to eat.

Pity that the pizza ovens weren’t working, failed for several days, but the food that we did have was piping hot and very tasty.

I have not been to ASK in a long time, and this was a brilliant experience. This is thanks to a particular team member called Lee. It was just me and my daughter having a post swim lunchtime feast and Lee's time, attention, forethought and playfulness made the whole experience excellent and daughter loved it. To boot the food was tasty, filling and satisfying! Absolutely brilliant work! Thanks so much.

Food is Meh. Service is no- existent. But what do you expect from the MacDonalds of Italian food. This place used to run well, now it has nothing going for it. I regret eating there.

We couldn’t fault it!! Haven’t been to Ask in YEARS and was totally blown away with the food as well as the service. Didn’t catch his name but there was an incredibly friendly gentleman waiting on us (he had his hair tied back and seemed to be best friends with pretty much every other table). He absolutely made the experience, just so genuinely warm and friendly even though he was running around taking everyone else’s orders and delivering food to tables. Love the tote bag incentive, food was great, will be returning :)

Service v slow and food disjointed in time it took to come to the table.

We enjoyed a lovely late lunch on a Sunday. The courtyard was a great spot to enjoy our meal, with the sun shinning on us and a great few of the Malvern Hills. Thank you to Lee for looking after us.

Had a lovely lunch in Malvern. Staff had a friendly manner and food service was quick. The food itself was tasty and presented well. Asks prices have increased a little over the last couple of years which is a shame but apart from that another good experience at ask Malvern.

Vegan pizza was alright, although perhaps a bit salty. The service was very friendly and attentive.

Just had a fantastic meal at this venue so good service excellent , proper authentic Italian pasta olives to start great wine and desert was delicious. Can’t recommend this restruant enough . 5 stars from john &Hazel on get away week end.

Utter shambles, under staffed, waited 45mins just for drinks then our starters & mains came almost together!! Filthy floors & tables, no apology = NO RETURN, vile!!

Raw chips this time that we couldn’t eat ! Also had a chicken burger but that was a burnt. The previous order took almost 2 hours and when it arrived it had items missing and refused to send them out as they don’t have delivery drivers. Don’t eat the lasagne anymore, as it has a disgusting taste and very watery. Won’t be ordering again has completely gone down hill !

Great food but the service was shocking…..did not get asked once if we wanted another drink and had to wait ages for them to notice that we had finished our meals…asked for the bill as we were that fed up and ended up paying online because we were sat there again waiting!!

ASK used to be one of my favourites with amazing pizzas. However no longer. Went to ASK in Great Malvern and it was dreadful. Pizza menu choice was terrible. What I ordered was not what I got served so had to go back. Ordered extra mozzarella (which was charged for) which was not on either the sent back pizza or the correct one. Pizza was mostly base and barely any toppings. So disappointing. Will not recommend or return to another ASK.

The service is great every time, Alex and Alisha really know how to provide a pleasant experience and the chefs know how to cook some beautiful food!

Our server was so brilliant. She was attentive to allergies and wonderfully friendly without it seeming forced. I loved the food but the service absolutely made our trip there worth it.

In my experience staff at Ask don’t stay for long but the 3 chefs and 3 serving were friendly to us on the day we went. Food was good. Recommend.

Our visit was on a Thursday, not the busiest but the service was very good. Pleased to give a good mark for that. Food was standard Ask so you know what you are getting.

The exclusive outdoor dining area was the rear end of a carpark, table was wonky and grubby. Ordered via the QR code (as it's the quickest way to order). Starters took ages to arrive despite being just olives and bread, had to chase it up. Main course arrived before starters cleared and no cutlery ready. ASKED for condiments, waiter vanished and never returned, eventually got some black pepper after I'd eaten half of the now Luke warm meal. Toilets clearly not been attended to in a while either. Very disappointed...food plus wine was 75 quid for 2 people....you get better service and care at most budget pub chains.

Me and my partner had a day out in Malvern on Sunday 14th April. It was the first time we both had been to the town. We were both hungry and was looking for somewhere to eat and we stumbled across ASK ITALIAN . We had a look at the menu on the notice board outside the venue and thought we would give it a try. We were taken to a table and given a complimentary glass of Homemade Lemonade which was very nice. We both had a main meal and a side order to. The food was excellent and the service was fantastic too. We were served by Jazz & Lilly they were very assertive and nothing was to much trouble. They are both a credit to your company. Having good staff is the back bone to any business. We would definitely come back and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to our family & friends.

Nice place, started were lovely however the main wasn't too nice I'm afraid. Pasta was to hard and crispy on top! Also cocktail was nothing special and just tasted like wine mixed with elderflower Shame 😔

Had dinner at ASK this evening - it was choc-a-bloc! But even though it was so full there were enough staff to cope with it all, and they did so with a smile and efficiency. The food was delicious, and the wines were excellent. The only very small negative was that it was super noisy and at times conversation was difficult. I went to a restaurant in downtown LA once and they had stuck ordinary cheap foam to the underside of the tables - it absorbs and reduces sound. Maybe that would help!

The service was incredibly slow, although the place was empty, we sat in the place they showed us, then they said that it was for more crowded customers and took us to another table. The food is mediocre, not worth it! Definitely a waste of time!

We have been to Great Malvern Ask many times before but tonight it was exceptional. The service was brilliant, staff so attentive especially Alex! He was amazing, serving so many tables and his service was second to none. Our little girl was very happy with her meal too. The food was amazing, good portion sizes and really tasty. We will be back again!! Thanks for a great start to the Easter holidays!

Far better than expected. Went for my daughters birthday and food and service was excellent. Jam packed too which says a lot about the place. Didn't realise it was so big in the table area upstairs. Thank you

We booked for a midweek meal. The staff were ore occupied with a large group booking. Waited nearly 50 minutes for our starters and received an apology and reassurance there woul be no delays. However, nobody came to clear our starter plates and they continued to ignore our existence I rhe building whilst focusing on the large group booking. Didn't even bother having our main course as didn't want to spend the entire night in there. Awful, awful service.

Everything was perfect, apart from a small mistake with the order, because instead of a vegetarian dish, meat was delivered, but the error was corrected and a glass of wine was provided as compensation.
