Asda in Tameside

ordered my shopping through click & collect online, an expensive amount of shopping, you have to bag your own items, i was disappointed that some items had crushed boxes etc. you can decline items but the guy who brought my crates was nowhere to be seen and i gave up trying to find him and assumed the items were probably fine inside ( they weren't!) on arriving home and storing my shopping i realized the meat i had was short dated ( BB next day) some of my vegetables were already going. i could return the items i was not happy with, but i dont have time instead i will write off the £30ish worth of shopping that was not edible and never go to asda again. i hope reading this you will be more careful than i was as this store either has extremely poor staff that do not care or, more worrying, asda has a policy of pushing damaged/short dated items out to delivery/collection.

ASDA superstore in Hyde have gone down recently they have made changes and by doing this nothing is good as it used to be and all of the small trolleys they are all over the place even these trolleys have been well away from the superstore itself even most of the items are much more expensive but by doing what they have been doing many .more customers are spending to much yet when you shop elsewhere items are much cheaper

Shop here several times a week and have no issues at all with Asda Hyde, as I’m always able to find what I need and the staff try to help when needed. Can get a little busy, but waiting times aren’t too excessive - unless you’re excessively impatient. Further, after reading some of the other reviews it seems like many criticise the area and the local public presumptively claiming “they share one brain cell” or have “below average IQ”, whilst writing a review that has clear grammatical errors and/or is barely legible. Also, not sure what that has to do with a review for an Asda store, maybe they weren’t able to tie up their ‘high horse’ after they rode in on it. Overall, it’s just a supermarket and if you have any other expectations, then I’m not sure what would offer you a different experience!

This review is for the cafe and toilets. We called in for a coffee 11am 15/ The cafe seating is held together with gaffa tape .the floors were disgustingly dirty .every table was dirty. how can this be hygienic. I wouldn't give them a 1 for a food hygiene rating . and there was only 2 customers sat down it wasnt even busy.and a member off staff sat down not cafe staff. I voiced my disgust loudly so the staff heard and left .decided to go toilet on way out .....omg ..how is this place even trading .I will never shop at this store again .and I have weekly home delivery Over £500 a month .Never again

For people that make pizza all day every day they have 0 idea how to make pizza and its baffling, to not know what burned looks like and the amount of times they have burned it the staff here are either lazy or useless

They only sell frozen and tin stuff ervy time I go in there no fresh stuff like they retards or somet need to put under new management or closed down permit as most tin stuff is mouldy the milk says its in date but it's well out of date by smell I buy 5 pack of biscuits only get 3 init like this is the mostly trampiest and most disgusting Asda in the UK FACT

This review is only based on the instore cafe. I ordered a mini breakfast, a full breakfast and a regular coffee. £13.20.. realised these didnt come with toast so paid £1.90 for three 🤨. Food came within minutes and it was easy to see why. The bacon looked like it had been left on the pavement to cook on a warm day, black meat and hard. The eggs were like paper thin pancakes with a blob of yellow plastercine thrown on and the sausages were colourless unless you count beige as a colour. I took it back to the counter and said to the lady that we couldnt eat that. Her response was "would you like to wait for the fresh bacon".. No, We should have been given fresh bacon, and eggs and properly cooked sausages in the 1st place. My mum is 85 and if it made her stomach bad, her being in a wheelchair and going straight for her eye test, that would have been a nightmare for everyone 🤬🤬 Absolutely disgusting, no apology offered and I only got £10.50 refund , so it cost me £4.60 for a mildy warm coffee . AVOID at all costs its food poisoning waiting to happen because I believe everything I was served (except the barely toasted toast) was yesterday's leftovers .

substitutes for deliveries are a JOKE

There is a problem and that is were the drive through is and it is a section were those plastic crates are put after the driver has finished loading there car with food they are just left there but if anyone are walking towards the steps they are in the way so anyone can fall over there that section is dangerous

Very good Service and behaviour.

Nice shop well stocked good atmosphere friendly staff and security team accept one small blonde lady who works on customer service and is always rude and makes you feel uncomfortable when paying.

It is a huge place with a lot of items, but the prices are not the best.

It's my local seda it sells every thing I need

What a nuisance one of the staff on self checkout always pestering you while you are trying to put your shopping in your bag and paying your bill and standing behind you watching going to go to another supermarket now

Pop into this store, sometimes a couple of times a day, as I work locally. Staff are generally very pleasant, and the store well stocked. The lady on the Sushi counter is lovely, and seems to take genuine pride in the food she prepares (which is excellent) - The store is only let down (IMHO) by the beggars permanently just outside the front door, who seem to work shifts, then nip off to score on the road down the side of the shop - (not the Mosque side). Costs Asda money as I feel uneasy browsing, and thus buying, the outside plants etc whilst being asked for money by a bag head.

Small trolleys front wheels locked causing issues for elderly customers who struggle with large trolleys.

Ordered big breakfast and 2 coffees £18.00, no toast. Coffee was tepid, black pudding and bacon uncooked. Table unclean, or cleared. Lady working on own, cooking, serving and cleaning. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere for a good quality breakfast.

Never anything on the shelves. Once it's gone it's gone. Fresh produce forget it.. At night they swap things about for no other reason than to piss customers off. Managers are a joke.

I called and canceled the order 1 min after I was notified the covid test was out of stock. I was assured this was ok and its being cancelled as I spoke. And hour later the order showed up at my door I refused delivery and called the number again to say the order had shown and I refused delivery. I was again assured nothing to worry about I will get my funds back in a few days. I am now in an endless circle being passed around being told to call the store when the store number puts me back in que for the 800 number. I just want what I was assured would happen twice over the phone. If this is too much hassle I will contact my ombudsman about it followed by my card company.

Rude manager, eavesdropped on private conversation then tried to pick a fight and hound us out of the shop. Tried to speak to customer service and asked for another manager and she storms over for round 2 such a rude woman and appalling behaviour.

The cue is alway so long that I don’t even bother anymore, the staff or always busy but slow. The tables are alway full of used plates or stains.

I got everything I needed without any fuss , the staff are always smiling and cheerful

Open till 12 am really helpful. Lots of items and great staffs. Got a big parking area with 3 hours free parking

All the shop assistants are ALWAYS super helpful! if I ask for any help they throw away their work and start helping me instantly with the smile on their faces guiding me through the shop!!! Thats why im back there, because I have such cool experience. Remember.... its all about recurring happy clients, so keep doing the great work! the only downside of this supermarket is ... unfair raising up prices for some basic items... not good for regular, everyday clients like me.... best, Matt

I have been many times to this store, eaten in the cafe and also used the Pharmacy. It's well presented, a decent size, and staff are lovely.

Worst store ever I order online for home delivery and not only is their always substitute items that I can live with but sending me out of date chicken is disgusting I won't be shopping at asda anymore

I know some people and staff are exempt from wearing face masks and the average IQ in this area is well below the norm but come on asda get your act together. Not only customers but most staff not wearing masks and not a sanitation station in sight. Avoid if you have any sense

It’s absolutely ridiculous I brought a item then I have returned it after two days because of faulty item I wasn’t happy with it them was as same didn’t use or open from boxes.but still waiting for my refund it’s been nearly three months didn’t get my refund yet customers service is very very poor

I have been shopping at Adsa Hyde since it opened. I have been unable to get there during lockdown but have been back there for the last two weeks. The impression of the store is scruffy with many empty shelves. Shelves with empty cardboard boxes on them. Shelves not "faced up". Went today at 12.00 noon and there was a member of 'casual staff' in the tea/coffee isle trying to face up and talking incessantly on her phone which was glued to her ear.I realise there are shortages of some goods but honestly Adsa try and improve.

To be honest it was a joke. I stood waiting for far too long to speak to someone and all I wanted to ask was a general question about something before I purchased it. I could hear them talking in the back but not once did anyone even look out the window to see if there was anyone there. I ended walking off in the end

Long queues for the few staffed check outs, I refuse to self checkout, I do not work for asda, so it is not my job. So I left my shopping in the trolley and went to morrisons, yes I still had a checkout queue but nothing like asda.

Asda intentionally mislabel their goods, pricing it a lower price but when it's scanned in the till, dearer price appears. Most customers don't check their receipts and don't know they've been conned. Not a very good practice and changes should be made to regain the reputation which is at rock bottom.

I dont know whats happened to Asda Hyde, I have been a few times andnothing on the shelves. The meat was either out of date or only had a day or few days left on the out of date. Even the fruit I did buy looks old and was tasteless. This used to be my favourite store, I wont be going again

Wont be using Asda again the woman on the tobacco counter needs retraining as it’s her assertion that the customer does not come first !!! Just to clarify it wasn’t the lady behind the counter . It was the overweight lady with blonde gingery coloured hair stocking up at the front Bye bye Asda hello tesco

After my experience today I will now be shopping at a different Asda! Not one member of staff to ask information or to help with my requests.

Extremely rude staff member, barked at us to use the other side of the self serve, Ignored other customers who were waiting for help on the self serve. A few staff members all involved in one incident. Don't go here normally, now I know why!

Visited the store on Saturday 16.01.21. Although there were staff at the entrance supposedly monitoring customer numbers, there was no control whatsoever. The store was heaving. It was impossible to maintain 2m distance from others. Very few people were wearing masks, staff or customers. No wonder covid numbers are rising. I won't be visiting this store again

Lots of variety, lots of parking A good supermarket

Amazed at lack of masks and no social distancing of staff. Whilst I appreciate that some may have underlying health issues I find it hard to believe that the 20+ number of staff all did. Cut my shopping short. Was approached by member of staff for taking picture to illustrate the issue. He not only stood within 1m but also had no mask. Shameful.

This asda doesn't always have everything in store

Cafe food quality is poor, plus the majority of the general public that shop here share a brain cell just get annoyed every time I come here

Asda is ok in itself the pharmacy in the other hand is a joke Guy with dark hair and glasses micheal he called i believe shouldn't be there knows nothing about medicine he should of stayed on home and leisure..big jump from shelf stacker to a pharmacy worker.to top it of woman in front of me the proper pharmacist got her prescription and said 5min then the joker who was dealing with me 1min after the woman in front says 30min to me were very busy they was both sat on there arse before I came to them.

Did the scan and go and accidentally pressed the wrong button which lead to all of my shopping having to be rescanned and ended up with extra items in my bags, items I didn't put in my trolley so could only have been put their by the staff rescanning my items. as told RUDELY to step back by a member of staff NOT wearing a mask, who then proceeded to breath all over my shopping, she was safer from me than I was from her. Looked around and saw people waiting at self service with the red light flashing as about fiver members of staff were stood around talking, when I looked around again I saw the same customers, obviously frustrated, still waiting. Will be returning the extra items that I was charged for the next chance I get, added an extra £10 to overall shopping which I never intended to pay for. Go to Morrisons is the only advice I can give you, Asda isn't worth it.

I regullary use the pharmacy section to collect my medications and Im really happy with the whole process all the staff hard working in there and being really helpful and friedly.

Absolutely disgusted to find that not one member of staff had masks on in store. The one member that did wore it around his chin! Definitely won’t be returning since I’m doing shopping for a vulnerable person. Why enforce all members of public to wear one yet not the staff? Absolute joke

Shame on you Asda for not ensuring that people wear masks in your store if we all wear them collectively we could shop in a safer environment. I have used your store for many years but i will b shopping elsewhere in the future and encouraging friends and family to do the same. Find a store that puts the customer at the heart of its forward thinking. If you care about keeping this virus at bay and protecting the NHS then Asda is not the store for you.

Wow shopping today here they got the crystal maze outside so bad for the older folks watched quite a few having hard time getting round it did tell the guy at doors but no one sorted it maybe they will when somebody gets injured

As a tired key worker the thought of shopping isn't the first thing on my mind but I have to say, after visiting asda in hyde today, it was a fab experience. Who ever thought up the idea of playing old school dance music while queuing outside needs a pay rise. Brilliant idea. I sang my way round the zig zag of lines till reaching the entrance. Gutted it didn't carry on in store! Well done everyone.

Good selection of products even at this time staff inside are nice however I think you have hired the wrong kind of security at your Asda stores. They are rude and at this time we need nice and polite people to greet key workers not abruptness and rudeness. Again Asda sort out your security staffing.

Having visited the store today I would just like to sat Thank You to the lovely security gentleman who assisted me. I am an NHS worker so I did receive priority entry which was greatly appreciated. However this particular staff member also went above and beyond to assist me. I didn't get his name unfortunately but Thank You once again and "Well Done Asda"

Went to store for their advertised 6am opening only to be told opening was 8am. When I and others enquired why they advertised 6am opening I was tol I should look at Social Media and not the official ASDA site. I consider it extremely poor to attract a 76 year old all the way to the store on false pretences

Weekly shop done at this store, can’t fault it for the most part it’s well kept and stocked. Car park is large but at peak can still get busy. Like the introduction of the self scanning machines. Allows me to pack my shopping while I shop which saves a lot of time and hassle at the tills. Also staff have always been friendly whenever I have dealt with them.

This a large Adsa store in Hyde, as asdas go it's okay plenty of free parking and only a couple of minutes walk away from the town centre. The staff seem friendly and helpful it's close to the bus station and taxi rank. They have pretty much everything you can expect from an asda store. They have a large clothing section which is great if your a fan of George clothing. I would give it 5 stars but the store can get bit untidy at times

Scan and go section staffs are very rude and careless.

I visited the store at 6.10am on Friday 29th December 2019 and the store did not open until 6.25am.reason for late opening given by male employee being breakdown in communication. When l said this was always happening. Reply given was you can always shop somewhere else.not very good customer service

Use shop in Morrison in Hyde but ASDA well beats them always go to ASDA now

A really nice big supermarket where you can purchase all of your weekly items for not a lot of money. If you cannot see what you are looking for, the staff are very helpful in finding it for you. If it not on display, then the staff will even go all out to look in the warehouse to see if they can find what item(s) you require. Excellent supermarket.

Sometimes a long wait at checkouts

Been a number of times and its le me a time capsule. And not in a good way. Service wasn't the best. Items not available and dirty tables. I don't blame front line staff as probably not enough of them to do all the jobs

Shelves half empty never got want you and can take up to 10 minutes to park up as people are using the car park to park up and pray

Friendly and welcoming staff. Good food which arrived quickly. All in all a very good evening. Highly recommended.

I am SICK and tired of running a gauntlet of people trying to flog me cheaper energy or car breakdown cover as I try get into the store, they are relentless...so much so I've gone from going everyday more or less to a few times as possible. Food Warehouse around the corner is miles better and no annoying people trying to sell me stuff I don't need before I even enter the store !

Click & collect at this store is very poor - website not up to date with things out of stock and always substituting items for other products which aren’t even similar.

We've been shopping at this Asda for years even before having a car, which meant travelling by train. Staff are friendly and always happy to help, store is well stocked with all that you need, car park is big, there's always parking available and is free.

I was quite happy with the choice of breakfasts - had an omelette - it was good. And received a free baby pouch for my LO. Nice coffee, was also explained by the staff that if I purchase medium coffee, I can have a cake just for £1 - not bad at all. Even though didn’t fancy a cake in the morning - I was offered to take it home in a take away box. Also was offered a loyalty card. Nice friendly staff, good quality food, great offers - can’t complain!

Had breakfast there this morning. It was ok and it was hot. Nothing special but not bad. Convenient when you're shopping.

Anything you ever need you can find here. One of the big ones. Friendly staff, shelves very well organised. Just everything you can ask for 👍

Fuming with the cafe today orders a Christmas dinner for £6 waited 20 mins for it and when it come I actually thought they was taking piss cold peas was hard the turkey was nice and the roast potatoes was white never in my life will I step in that place again wish I could put a pic on ere for u all 2 see my 23 week old baby gets more dinner then I got

GOOD STORE,HAS EVERYTHING YOU NEED FROM CLOTHES, CARD,Magazines, and all other food ,soft drinks to alcohol, with excellent staff.

Went to the cafe today for a take out I had a jacket with cheese and butter well if that’s wot u call it was not cut proper with a tiny bit of butter and the cheese about a spoon full was not happy and then I get a rude woman told me to stop complaining who works there small fat and short black curly hair I will not be going back again not the same no more it’s dirty and I will not be spoke to the way the fat bird spoke to me

Maybe it's just ever popular, or maybe it's understaffed, but I always find the queues very long here. And the self service checkouts were programmed by somebody that clearly doesn't do their own shopping.

I found it a nice experience i use one of your mobile scooters other wise i would not b able to get round the store most were helpful and kind
