Wonderful independent cafe, with incredible food and service! Service - owner and staff incredibly friendly and hugely welcoming Food - wonderful savoury and sweet delights - huge selection and great to have variety of portion sizes too (e.g., my mum was not overly hungry, so had a bite sized treat. I had a bigger appetite, so decided to have a bigger pastry) Drinks - coffee (hot and tasty). Have good selection of teas too. Wonderful little tables outside - great on a warm day.

Amazing to find this little gem on a day out from London. The best spinach pies I have had outside Greece. Lovely friendly staff who are actually Greek! Great coffee and excellent customer service - if it was nearer I would be there every day :-)

We’d been meaning to check out Artoplasia for a while and ended up visiting on its first birthday. What a fabulous cafe! Amazing savoury pastries and sweet treats with great coffee too and very genuine friendly service. So lucky that you’re on our doorstep. We’ll be back soon!

I went with a group of friends here. We bought a Tres Leches,Oreo cookie cake and a traditional baklava. The Tres Leches was different to a Venezuelan one but was spongy and the caramel added a nice sweet addition. The Oreo Cookie Cake was extremely good and exceeded my expectations. Can’t wait to try the baklava!

It’s so good to see independent and quality shops in St Albans like this. The coffee tastes amazing, get the cappuccino Freddo. I bought multiple types of baklava and spinach feta pie which looks so delicious. The cakes look amazing too - I will be returning

I have visited the new Greek Bakery (Artoplasia) several times since it opened and wow! The selection of pastries and baklava is outstanding and on par with the best of London patisseries. The shop is small with outside seating for 8 around 4 tables. The coffee is fantastic and the cakes even more so. Even the Greek Coffee was good (once you remember to allow it to rest of that the coffee grind float to the bottom) – sat outside, on a sunny day, with a Greek Coffee and some excellent baklava brought back many happy holiday memories. For lunchtime snacks they have Spanakopita, Tiropita and other Greek delicacies. I have tried the Tiropita and it was excellent. This place is definitely worth a visit.

We visited Bar Meze after personal recommendation as one of their favourite places to eat in St. Albans, and it is very easy to see why. Fouad greeted us with open arms, inviting us into his family restaurant. Immediately, you are given unmatched service and care, a constant throughout our evening. The food is delicious, made with both passion and care, with Fouad excited to share his personal recommendations based on your preferences and tastes. We were presented with some beautiful dishes that we enjoyed sharing, right up to dessert. Personal highlights include the Egyptian Pastry, the Swordfish, the plethora of breads and dips, and the Knafeh. We honestly can’t recommend Bar Meze enough, and we are looking forward to coming back already.
