Loved the place, very quiet the food was magnificent and the staff very polite, strongly recommend

We had a lovely meal here on our first visit to Redcar. Our group consists of 4 adults and 2 children. The staff were really lovely, especially Jess, who couldn't have been more helpful. The food was lovely, we had garlic bread, potato skins with garlic mayo, arancini, garish pizza, American pizza, penne basilico, diavola chicken, and kids chicken gougons. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The restaurant was very welcoming and clean, and the toilets were clean and well stocked with toiletries.

Visiting family in the area, came here for dinner on Monday night. Restaurant wasn’t too busy and service was prompt and attentive. Parmo was as tasty as any we’d have at home and drinks were reasonable. The only issue we had was the glassware used to serve affogato is too conical and so the ice cream sits above the espresso rather than in it. But otherwise, a flawless visit and it’s a shame I don’t live locally or else I’d be back more often!

This is one of the nicest parmos I’ve eaten in the north east! Reasonably priced too! I visited with my girlfriend for an early Valentine’s Day meal and we really enjoyed our food

Nice little spot on Redcar High Street. Parmesan is the best you can get in Redcar and received great service throughout.

What a great place,first time visit but it was great,food was lovely,atmosphere is lovely,staff are polite and friendly,prices are very reasonable,a great place to visit and i would reccomend.

Food came out fairly quick but too quick after our starters as we wanted to actually chill before our food, then when we were eating we were constantly belooked the whole meal to check we were still eating, then the bill came which wasn’t too bad fairly prices but still both had full drinks, so then we paid but were questions after payment when we would be leaving, as we only had a table of 2 I wouldn’t of found this an issue? Love the food here also but this time my parmo tasted like sausage meat and this isn’t the first time this had happened. Never felt usually rushed and also very loud restaraunt with big parties shouting all around, not a great experience.

Very good food, drink and service. It’s a long time since we have been here and am glad we came. The food was excellent and the staff knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I had the mussels as a starter and the Calzone pizza as a main. The arancini balls as a starter excellent and the lasagne and the stroganoff mains lovely. It was a lovely friendly, happy and family atmosphere. I won’t leave it as long before revisiting

I cannot believe that a restaurant does not serve gluten free pasta or pizza. I understand I always have to pay more for this but it is extremely disappointing when a restaurant accommodates vegetarians and vegans (life choice) but not coeliacs (serious health condition). Service was good and friendly.

Great food, great service each time attended. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Only gripe, if you can say that, is, it's too small a premises for the amount of tables. But that's just me, I like plenty of space btw tables. However, I do recommend this place!

Midweek in Redcar High Street is not exactly uplifting. Still a depressed area, could be great with more investment. Armando's a welcome escape from the ubiquitous fish and chips. Risotto Verde piping hot and well cooked but could have benefitted from some herbs. Parmesan was the pre-grated kind.

Not a fan of Italian food. We had 3 dishes and all the plates were cleaned up.

Had a lovely meal, staff were efficientand friendly, unfortunately we were sat by the door on a very winding evening, they did say its the worse table, my thoughts, don't have it there at all, it really spoiled our evening, freezing cold from the moment we sat down until we left.

Not sure what happened today, been nice when been previously but food poor and poor attitude of management. I had potato skins for starter, very greasy and undercooked. My partner had soup and was cold. I had chicken marershala for main. Had big lumps of unmelted cheese and couldn't taste the tomato, chips were also hard. When complained to management he said you were first customers of the day and chef might not have been awake. Nice attitude. We won't be going back

Food has been lovely in the past, today 7.04.24 it was awful, soup came out luke warm, sent it back, chicken alla creme was greasy, I actually soaked grease up with a paper napkin. We left the food, paid the bill, waiting staff honestly couldn't care less, will not be going back, the roof of my mouth has a coating from the grease after a couple of mouthfuls, left the food. waiting to get home to use moth wash.

Fantastic little restaurant on Redcar High Street. We had the pate to start which was fine and for mains parmos. I had hotshot which was really nice, finally someone who puts different chilli's on top not just jalapeños. Got one of the orders wrong but this was quickly resolved. good service polite and quick.

Arancini balls starter and hot shot parmo. Couldn't finish it so provided a take away box. 16.95 for 2 courses 👌

Absolutely gem for Redcar. Food, service and atmosphere is fantastic. Staff are very friendly and polite. They have good knowledge of food and especially about gluten free foods within there menu. A fantastic restaurant!!

Ordered a pork Parmesan to takeaway after reading the good reviews. Big mistake. I have had some of the best in Teesside from winners of the parmo king competition but this was disappointing. Cheese topping was thin and not flavoursome at all. Bechimel sauce was non existent. Side salad was dry and lifeless. A waste of over £14 I won’t make that mistake again.

Had a very lovely meal here on 20th January. It was busy whilst we were but it is a popular restaurant. Staff were run off their feet but customer service was still excellent. Thank you Armandos

Just been here with a party of 9 and can honestly say the service was shocking. Made to feel as if we were a hindrance. One of the waitresses was very ignorant and rude and never smiled once.We couldn't wait to get out.

Good food at a very good price.

Great for gluten free options. They don't do gluten free pasta, unfortunately, which I think they could really benefit from, but the rice and risotto dishes are superb, with fabulous steaks and gorgeous sources. Their desserts are really nice but I never have enough space to eat it. They also do really good cocktails, with two for £10, and because they're so big I think they're worth it.

Excellent place to taste Italian cuisine. Friendliness in service. Very pleasant, I highly recommend visiting.

Can get a little noisy when it's full but if you want a quieter experience just go a little earlier. Fantastic Pizza, can recommend seafood with extra seafood. Best I've had in the North East. Although it's not on the menu anymore, if you ask, they'll make one for you. Really is a pretty tasty pizza and if you can remember to ask, and you're a lover of seafood, you won't be disappointed 👍

Recently attended as a party of 10. From the moment we entered the staff seemed very tense. A particular waitress, an older lady with black hair was extremely rude throughout. Lots of eye rolling and just a general bad attitude that ruined the experience for us.

Excellent cosy well run restaurant serving authentic and delicious Italian cuisine. Went as a party of four, stayed well over 2hrs without feeling rushed. Brilliant

Large family visit for a birthday celebration. They split us over 2 tables either side of the restaurant which wasn’t expected as previously they have put us all together down one side. We asked if we could buy drinks separately as we were such a big party and were told quite bluntly no they couldn’t facilitate that. The person taking the drinks orders was very flustered - brought a few wrong drinks which we sent back and at the end they tried to charge an extra £6 for one of these!! Think they’ve added shrinkflation to the meals - chicken was smaller than previously and the sauce was very bland with a small bowl of chips and a very small portion of salad leaves, I’m not a big eater and certainly didn’t fill me. The pizzas did look good though. We preordered and still had to wait quite a while some people’s food was quite cold. Staff in the past have been great but they must have been having a bad night.!! Toilet floor was very slippery too could maybe do with something over the tiles. All in all very disappointing and don’t think I’ll be visiting again soon

I visited the restaurant with my dad on Saturday (16th September) for my birthday. The service here is always very good, and Saturday was no different. For drinks, I had a j2o and my dad had a non-alcoholic beer. They were very nice. For starters, I had the potato skins which were as amazing as always, and my dad had the garlic mushrooms which he said were very good. For mains, I had the margherita pizza which was 10/10 incredible. And my dad had the pork stroganoff which he said was amazing. Overall we had a lovely meal here, and if you are ever in Redcar I would recommend visiting here as it is a brilliant restaurant! :)

Beautiful food, really great service and reasonably priced

Lots of gluten free options which was a relief and pasta and pizzas can be ordered GF if you tell them 24hrs in advance. My risotto was beautiful and I can fully recommend the rosè called Wicked Lady. A great birthday night out with friends had by all.

This restaurant came recommended and it did not disappoint. We didn’t book but they found us a lovely table. We all had the cajun chicken which was excellent and very filling. Definitely going to return when we’re next in the area.

Came in tonight and great food as always :) Who I think are new waitresses were really helpful and polite.

Visited last night (22nd Aug) for the 1st time. Couldn't believe how packed it was for a Tuesday night. Booked the next available slot and went for a walk. Good job, too, because the amount I shovelled down my pie hole was simply rude. Staff were great. The espresso martinis were the best I've ever had, and the chicken pamesan was good enough to marry. I live 230 miles away, but I'll be back for more of the same. Thanks for making it a great night.

The service here is excellent. Have been here a few times and always had a good meal. Garlic bread starter was average. Parmo and risotto were not good. Risotto was more like rice pudding. It may just be a one off as we normally get good food here.

An unassuming frontage on the main street in Redcar. We went for dinner for a family birthday. The staff are really friendly and attentive and the food…oh my gosh! It’s incredible!!! They even do build your own pizza for kids which my nephews loved! There are even fantastic value meal deals too not that you really need a meal deal as the prices are very good indeed especially for the quality of the food. We were blown away! Fantastic place!!! Well worth the trip over from Whitby! I might drive over again tomorrow! 😋

I truly had the best Calzone I have EVER had (although I did add salami and ham to it). The atmosphere was great, the ambience superb. I don't hesitate to thoroughly recommend this restaurant to you. My wife had the Arancini as a starter, and the Chicken Parmo as a main, and we were both more than satisfied.

Very cozy and beautiful restaurant, the staff are very friendly and kind. The pastas that I ordered were very delicious. I was so happy after a busy day at work. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone who visits Redcar.

Got poorly from the parmo… been in bed for 3 days- called up to let them know and the cover manager practically had a go at my partner- saying their food is perfect… I’ve had a look through some of the reviews on here and I’m defo not the only person who has had a dodgy parmo from here. Avoid! I’m just glad my little boys didn’t get poorly.

We celebrated my 76th birthday and a good time was had by all. All the food was great and at a reasonable price (although my daughter thought that the arrabbiata sauce was a bit on the hot side) the staff were all friendly and helpful.

Been looking forward to visiting this restaurant since we moved to Redcar in April, however it was the biggest disappointment ever. I rang to check opening times and to see if we needed to book in advance and the girl advised that pre booking would be advised as they had a large party in, yet when we arrived at 2.30pm there was only 2 people in the restaurant. We ordered our food and my daughter was looking forward to a pork Parma, however when the food arrived it was a total let down. Pork Parmo, chewy dry meat and béchamel sauce that had so much nutmeg in that it was sweet rather than savoury. Peppered chicken, no taste to the sauce and bland vegetables. Lobster Ravioli, undercooked ravioli with lukewarm lobster, with a tasteless sauce and bland vegetables. Now as we were the only 3 in the restaurant it is unbelievable that the chef cook not get the food right! The biggest disappointment was that even though we brought the problem with the pork parmo to the attention of the waitress, there was no acknowledgment of the issue, in fact she even offered to box up what was left (around 3 qtrs remained), which we declined as it wasn’t even fit for the dog. Needless to say we will not be visiting again, which is a shame as we are looking for a good local restaurant!

Food was lovely but so loud for us. Couldn't enjoy the evening. Always had lovely waitresses but no personal touch at all this evening. As regular customer normally get a lemon chello or a little chocolate. Nothing even tho next table did?

arriving during a road trip and not familiar with the town, We visited based on trip advisor reviews and were not disappointed. The place was packed on a Thursday night and we were lucky to get a table. The team were all very friendly and it has the feel of a real family run business. Alex looked after us very well. The food was delicious and excellent value with a wide range on the menu. We really enjoyed our visit and if we didn't live over 200 miles away we would defiantly be visiting regularly. Thank you to the whole team for a lovely evening.

First time visiting for a friends 60th birthday. Very nice surroundings, Staff were great and the food was lovely ( I had potato skins to start and meatballs and spaghetti main which was very tasty!! ).

Vibrant, lively Italian restaurant, serving generous portions. The food was delicious and there was no long wait. Good value too. The staff were all very friendly. The only minor thing we all agreed on was that the plates were only luke warm; other than that, it was fantastic.

Lovely little Italian, I've rated 4 for atmosphere, I do think during warmer weather they could have some air con or windows open, my partner was extremely warm. Food was lovely, I'm not the biggest fan of Italian food, however, I really enjoyed it here. My only criticism, but that's only based on my personal tatse, I had armando's chicken with feta olives etc, which I find are quite salty foods, but that's it really. I'm not local to area but if I was up that neck of the woods again, I'd probably come here again . The prices are reasonable especially in the current clime. Don't overlook it when looking for somewhere to have a sit down meal.

If I could give more than 5 I would. We’ve visited about 4-5 times now never been disappointed, we rave about it to anyone who will hear. We tend to visit Redcar just for Armando’s the food is great fresh produce and great value for money. This little Italian is a hidden gem! If we lived closer we would order every night. We’ve yet to try a different dish as we’re so wowed by the food we normally order (Chicken Diavolo, half Chicken Parmesan and half Spaghetti Bolognaise) We never thought we liked Italian food however this is the only place we go. Do not miss this divine food, staff are always friendly and helpful, the chefs know their food and what people want. Don’t change please!

The food definitely has an Italian authentic taste, especially the pizza, proper stone baked, thin and crispy. They definitely do it right! Bit gutted that the seafood pizza has disappeared from the menu! It's really the only reason I went to Amandos. I will have to find somewhere else for pizza but I'll still return for other food choices. The atmosphere is a bit noisy but its still enjoyable, easy to bring the kids I suppose. It does look nice inside however I feel like it's somewhat lacking in a traditional-modern decor. It blends in a bit too much with all the other restaurants nearby. Great? yes, Something special? Not quite.

Staff were amazing with myself and my family as we had a little one who was stressed, and they moved tables for us and were so kind and empathetic. Food was amazing too!

Great pizza's and garlic bread, they altered one of the dishes for me which was lovely, we ordered a child's pizza and they didn't hear properly and brought an adult one, so we ended up paying more.

Really great little place this, so pleased we found it. We hadn't booked a table but thankfully they were able to find space for us. I would recommend booking because it was very busy and tightly so because the food is great and so is the service. Really good value, no wonder it's so popular.

In Redcar for a training & decided to ‘treat myself’ and venture out of my hotel. Whilst the town is looking fairly battered and bruised, Armando’s was a welcome find! Travelling solo, I always find it funny with the looks that you get, anyway, despite being full they managed to squeeze in another table for 1. Whilst they did not provide any Gluten free pizza or pasta (despite their claims), I had a really nice Pan-fried chicken breast in a creamy garlic mushroom sauce. Definitely not a great choice if you are celiac! I ordered the Marchesi Ervani Pinot Grigio Rosato rosè, which was mediocre at best. Generally, the wine was expensive, with no options <£18 a bottle, with very poor pedigrees! Definitely positioned at the top end of the Redcar market, the meal was good, but £40+ for a meal for one, in Redcar, I battle to find the value.
