10/10 experience We had the best time Wonderful people

only pub in the city accepting of my welcome. good daytime jukebox. surprised when nighttime karaoke host placed mic into my hand. couldn’t stop getting back up for more. few dodgy characters but a great night of singing and drinking was had by all.

Was very quite but usually busy do not do food staff very friendly

Wow what a venue, will surely return, the band was epic, the mood was class. No ways I will not go back on my adventures.

Authentic pub, good beer and prices, Karaoke twice a week and local bands playing Saturday evenings. Full of great Dundee characters, never a dull moment in this boozer. As with most pubs nowadays the prices have gone up for drinks but it ain't the most expensive for sure. Pool table is popular. Good location for buses and taxis.

Old skool Saturday night. Sons 'stag' night so we're doing a tour of bars. Artic was my choice. Most if the young crew had never been in. Band were on so the guys had a great night.

Tucked down the alley off the main high street. The artic bar serves as the gateway to the Kilier centre around the corner. Both contribute to the location. The artic bar. I have walked past many a times and at times sometimes slightly judgmentally have thought to stay away. After braving myself through the door. I need not worry. The bar itself is smallish but can fit enough around. A scoped a pool table and and deceptively open space at the back for event entertainment. Enough room to fit several people comfortably. Disapotinly there were only two drafts available and the choice between tenants or carling is a debate non challengabale. Regardless I was welcome by Theresa who was very pleasant. Made me feel welcome and I sat down at the quieter end of the pub. I was interested to see the history of this place. It obviously been well established and it's still a bit rare to have a long running independent bar to drink in. Compared to the wetherspoons or bank bar up the road. Unfortunately I would say the decor really needed to have an update. It's obviously a well loved local and needs a bit TLC to bring it up to a better shape. The toilet didn't have lights on and there was no switch to turn them on. (I know I should of asked). The locals come and a go and I observed a small disagreement breakout. Nothing that wasn't resolved in a about 10 muns and then forgiven and fogtton about. Nothing I would consider negatively towards the pub and it running. So times people make trouble and it could be anywhere. All in all I will return and give it another go. I shouldn't of been so indecisive in the first place.

This is a place you go to when you want to kill yourself

Needs a bit TLC. What the pub lacks in decore it makes up for with friendly staff and punters. Characters ! Willing to share to fantastic history of this wee jewel.

Love this bar. So much history, ask Theresa about the coffin windows if you visit and the history and connection to whaling. The bar is friendly and welcoming, serves a great pint at great prices. What's not to love.

Sometimes good atmosphere other times not so good but a good pint of Guinness more expensive than other places though

Friendly service , good beer. Lots of seating area. Downside.....Got badgered by some woman id never met to giver her kid money!!!

Great wee place, toilets are placed a bit mentally and could do with a ceiling but overall great experience and the music was aff the chain 👍🏻

6 couples went to the artic bar yesterday,,,what a laff we had on our bus pass day out from Blairgowrie,,,,the staff and locals are brilliant.Thanks to you all for a great day typical Dundoian hospitality,,,ps karaoke was ace👍

It's a hit or miss with this place. The bar itself if okay, such as the pricing for drinks is great and affordable, and some of the bar staff are lovely. However it is no fault of the bar, but some of the clientele it attracts is sometimes an issue. Walked into here once and the barman who was an older looking man was extremely rude and made comments about the way I was dressed. I like banter but when you just walk into a place and don't know somebody it's a bit much. Also there are junkies and some of the people get possessive over the Juke box and become aggressive if you dare put on a song they don't like.

im sorry i have never made a point of going into this pub or any other pub im not a drinker and further more the arctic bar is a dump from what i have seen going past the open doors .

Good old style pub, no frills. Pool table and frequent karaoke along with cheap drink prices, which for the central location is refreshing. Strongly recommend.

Unclean and unfriendly staff. I only went for a special appearance by people who are of interest to me.
