Fabulous fusion of Japanese and Italian food, great tasting menu, excellent quality ingredients and great service. For an extra treat go for the wine float too!

Writing this review from Dubai over a month later, yet the flavors are still so vivid in my mind. Chef Usman created a stunningly clever, thoughtful and delicious Kaiseki tasting menu with a supplementary wagyu dish that you will talk about for weeks and want to repeat time and time again. We sat at the marble counter and watched the meticulous kitchen churn out those beautiful dishes with precision and charm. We couldn't help chatting to the team member in front of us, which is also a perk of counter seating, and got an extra portion of that exceptional bread for the other courses! Lovely gesture. Couldn't fault one dish! the best part was the antipasti opener (Mussel, Melon, Cucumber & Wasabi Tobiko Cod, Venison & Herring Roe Watermelon, Sardine & Yuzu Kosho), a really unexpected melange of delicious flavors. And if I were to name my least favorite, that would be the crudo dish but that's nit-picking. The ambience was casual and relaxed, the service was as needed (we could've done with some attention to the wine pouring because we had to pour it ourselves throughout the experience - maybe they don't tend to counter seats?- which only happened towards the end and not by our designated waiter, who was informed and eccentric but not exactly on top of his game). I would recommend this place to everyone who's looking for a smart and delicious menu in an elegantly relaxed environment (dogs allowed at the counter) with a friendly crew behind the counter and front. For the food alone, Angelina would definitely get a Michelin star. But the service snags tells me that maybe that is not what the restaurant's aiming for, especially with a new location coming up. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Our waiter was fantastic and really looked after us, and the sommelier was the best we’ve ever had the pleasure of speaking to! Incredible passion and we loved hearing the story behind each wine. Sitting at the chef’s counter was brilliant and we really loved speaking to the chefs and hearing more in depth info about the food. Some of the best food we’ve had. Catering for a gluten allergy was no problem at all and invoked just a few small tweaks. We will be back for sure.

Incredibly good fusion food which is by and large Italian dishes made Japanese and ends up being really very good. Good wine paring and a really nice set of flavours, a must go if you enjoy a Japanese flavour palette.

When you thought you’d seen it all and gave up on fusion food a long time ago, Angelina delivers punch after punch through carefully crafted dishes that are both exquisite and satisfying. Sufficiently experimental, yet prepared for enjoyment, Angelina’s food is one you will want to eat over and over. As to the wine list, it’s been expertly assembled with passion. Well done to the hands on owners and to the team, with a special thank you to Khanh Tran-Thanh who made the evening extra special for us! A must visit destination for foodies, wine lovers and everyone looking for a warm atmosphere with their meal.

Completely blown away by Angelina. From the welcome, to the superb, friendly, personal service to the utterly wonderful, unique food with a great atmosphere. I cannot fault this place. To top it off, the prices are very reasonable. We left full and very happy. Get a seat at the bar and watch them prepare your food. An excellent experience.

We had a lovely dinner at Angelina. The food we had was unusual and interesting - and for the most part delicious though some items we felt were better than others. Service was good, but as the explanations of dishes are not written it was a little hard to follow sometimes. It’s decent value for money and makes for a memorable evening.

What a delightful place. Walked in and were greeted warmly and sat at a table near the chefs table, we were offered this as well but chose a table. Service was exemplary and the food was fantastic. Every dish was presented nicely and we were given an explanation of what the dish was. Not one course was a disappointment, everything was tasty, and was paired nicely with the wines. Stand out dish for me was the pasta, amazing, full of flavour and so tasty. The breads to start were very good, and the wagu and ponzu was a good addition. We didn’t leave hungry that is for sure! We will definitely return and have already told our foodie friends and family to visit. Great restaurant that deserves to do well, and not that far from the city, 10 min taxi journey.

Had the 10 Course Kaiseki, would highly recommend. We were expecting to encounter at least one dish we didn't like but that wasn't the case. Every dish was flavoursome! Would recommend adding the A5 Wagyu & Ponzu. We left full, something we also weren't expecting so don't be fooled by the dish sizes!

I originally intended booking the four course taster menu, but ended up splashing out on the 10 course with wine pairing. VERY glad I did. The service was impeccable: informative and attentive without being too much. And the food was consistently excellent, begining with the delicious breads! Wonderful array of textures and flavours. I'd pick out a stand-out course, but they all had something different and interesting to offer. Though it wasn't cheap, nor was it as expensive as you might have thought. Highly recommended.

Avoid at all costs! We were a table of 7 people doing the sharing menu. The food is TINY, 3 people sharing a palmful of salad, one prawn each per person, everything sharing and horrible flavour combinations. We even asked staff ‘sorry if this tiny thing to serve 3 people?’ They just nodded. Ridiculous. We were anll shocked. Also service was very rushed and nothing explained properly. Staff just wanted us out. Horrendous really. Everyone hated it. Also you all had to pre pay in full before we went. Worst experience. Never again. Save your money and don’t go!

This was the best meal of 2023. Food was phenomenal, service was fab. 10 course tasting very exciting. Very clever chefs in the open kitchen. Couldn’t wait to see and taste the next course. Only minor down side is that the restaurant was very noisy so when wine and food was being introduced you couldn’t really hear. That says the atmosphere was vibrant and buzzy.

The Japanese/ Italian fusion works really well. The menu is creative and intriguing, resulting in a varied range of flavours to delight the palate.

We had the 10 course omakase menu for dinner, which was exciting, varied, and delicious. I started out with a lovely whiskey and campari cocktail. My partner doesn't drink and we couldn't see any obvious non-tea soft drinks on the menu, but other than that the drinks throughout the evening were amazing. I was guided through the wine pairing by a very pleasant Scottish waiter. I had a particularly delicious orange pinot grigiot with the pasta course. We were sat at the kitchen counter so got to see the food being prepared, which was exciting. Food delivery altered between the chef and the waiter, and all of the information was very well delivered. I particularly liked the smoked pasta with veal and prawn, though the whole fried borage leaf was also a highlight, as were the desserts. I was being treated, so didn't need to pay, but my partner was raving about how good value it was when compared to other tasting menus we have had. I would thoroughly recommend coming here, and can't wait for another special occasion to roll along so we can come back!

Visited Angelina in Dalston last night for dinner. Can’t rate highly enough. Taster menu restaurant and every course was delicious. Service excellent, professional and friendly. Great wines too.

We had the most amazing evening and can not wait to come back! The food was INCREDIBLE and Karen was the best waitress - she knew everything about the food and the wine and I can’t wait to come back and bring friends. It’s a truly special evening, which combines food wine and ambience. LOVED it!

We went for the 10 courses dinner and ate at the counter to watch the chefs, which was really interesting. The food was delicious and actually filling, which I don't normally expect of fancy tasting menus. They were also incredibly accommodating of my girlfriend's allergies / dietary requirements and clearly thought of how to meaningfully change ingredients to still give her a great experience (to the point that some of her dishes were better than mine!). Highly recommended and great staff too.

The food and service here is amazing. I’ll definitely be visiting this restaurant again. I’ve been to a few Michelin star restaurants before and this is definitely up there.

Really fantastic meal at Angelina, every course was delicious and so different to anything I'd had before. Wine pairing was excellent, and the staff were also amazing and catered to allergies really well too. We probably wouldn't choose outside seating next time as it was a bit tight, but we actually moved inside for the second half and the atmosphere was excellent. A lovely 30th birthday meal, thanks for looking after us - we'll definitely be back!
