Alfredo Restaurant in Conwy

I had Chicken risotto with, it said njudo sauce. I looked up this sauce, hot tasty tomato. Mine was not at all tasty or spicy. I added plenty of Parmesan cheese.

The Italian dishes here were delicious. Me and my friends liked the traditional grills, pizzas, garlic bread and pastas. Top-notch food prepared and served by their amazingly friendly staff.

I want to be totally honest I live in Conwy and have avoided Alfredo’s since it was taken over due to some of the negative reviews I have seen. However, we decided to try it out tonight and I’m so glad we did. What an amazing night we had with fantastic food, yes the menu is smaller but that means more fresh quality produce if you ask me. My son had pizza and it was a lovely freshly made pizza so much better quality than before, you could tell the dough was fresh and not frozen. I would say update the decor to match the new food will definitely be returning!

Incredible! We booked this restaurant after reviews from friends. We arrived to find out it was a theme night, so there was only a set menu to choose from, at first we were a little disappointed but wow!!!! What a fantastic and pleasant surprise! The whole menu was paired with a specific wine which complimented the food perfectly. The food was outstanding. The service and staff were brilliant and talked us through each course and the wine that was paired with it. A wonderful 5 course meal with wine all for £30 pp we couldn’t believe our luck . One of the best Italian meals we have ever had. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to try authentic Italian food, warm welcoming staff and people who are genuinely passionate about giving you a dining experience to remember. Will be back again for another theme night soon.

I believe Alfredo’s has been taken over by new owners so went to try it tonight. Fantastic service from entering to leaving the restaurant. Only a few staff as it was a Monday evening but they were all so lovely…professional and polite with a smile on their face. Could not have asked for more with regards to the service we received. Food was lovely. For starter, husband had the chicken goujons with a chilli dipping sauce and I opted for garlic bread (bread was homemade) with cheese and we shared chips with truffle and Parmesan…absolutely yummy. For mains I had the chicken Alfredo tagliatelle ( chicken and mushrooms in a creamy sauce) and husband had a fillet steak with triple cooked chips and a blue cheese sauce. Again another delicious meal. We were too full to even look at the sweet menu!! The price is on par to other similar restaurants. We will definitely be going back to Alfredo’s 👍

A bit dissapointed. Not a great deal to the menu,ok if you like pizza but not many proper Italian dishes to choose from. Looked at evening menu and that was the same in dishes. Had bolognaise and got to say it was mediocre,wife had pasta and again ok ish. Not what you would expect from pro chef’s. I can cook a more tasty Italian if I’m honest. Plate sizes are small also.Service was good as it was quiet. Pricing is very expensive but then again Conwy in the height of the season is dear every where. Would not return I’m afraid at the grand age of 62 I’ve eaten lots of Italian food over the years and this one would be at the bottom of the list. Sorry.

Despite our high expectations, the food was very average. The Arancini were tasteless and overpriced, and the Rissoto was also extremely bland. The decor was old and very tired, but on a positive note, the service was excellent.

Absolutely delicious food in a lovely atmosphere. Authentic Italian food, wonderful servce. We loved it! You will not be disappointed l.

Very homey Italian family restaurant, would fit in well in NYC. Food was great and service was perfect. It was a wonderful place to celebrate our 50th anniversary. Highly recommend it.

Great location in the centre of Conwy and our 1st time at Alfredo's for a 7:30pm table, which was not ready for us until 8:15, (not a drama by any stretch, but also not a great start.) We took our seats and having looked forward to a 'home cooked' pizza all week, we were advised that the 'chef' had...... 'run out' of pizza......to which I replied, with incredulity, 'Go and get some flour from Tesco and I'll make it myself!' How does a Pizza Place run out of pizza and how can an 'Italian Chef' not rustle up some pizza dough (or send someone out for pizza bases), to avoid the shame of it? Notwithstanding, I cheerfully revisited my choice, opting for Lasagne, which was entirely ordinary and fairly bland, to be honest. It wasn't dissimilar to a supermarket Lasagne. Not freshly prepared and probably cooked from frozen? Expected more for the £50 per head we were charged. Ending on a positive note, the waiting staff were lovely, polite and did their best in embarrassing circumstances, but one would have to question 'Management'.

Been here many times during the last few years and knew that it has now changed ownership, very disappointed this time, my friend had a carbonara which was bland and dry but my meal was a chicken arrabiatta which was fine. We were there just after the restaurant opened at 6pm. After ordering the food, I paid a visit to the Ladies toilets, the bins were full, the basins were not clean and the general appearance gave me the impression that they had not been cleaned that day. I do wish the new proprietors all the best but to keep the good reputation, they need to address the cleanliness of the toilets.

A nice Italian - no frills hearty food. Good choice. Good price point. A little basic but nothing bad. Good portion sizes

Been going to this place for decades - but not been for a while. Heard it had new owners and thought we’d give it a try. Very disappointed. Friendly staff but over priced bland food. More like ready meals than true Italian cuisine. Nothing was so bad it had to be sent back. Won’t be rushing back.

I’m guessing we just had a bad experience when we ate here. Such disgusting menus, dirty and torn and our food was dry and congealed, even asking for extra sauce. On a positive note, the staff were very good.

Amazing food and such a lovely, friendly and inviting atmosphere. We went on a Wednesday and were glad we went before 6pm to sit down as it was full come 7:30pm. Louise the host was lovely with us and our 4 year old. People from all walks of life eating here. Lovely.

Great place,traditional Italian setting in Wales. Decent menu, nice staff and food was very nice. Good wine list and would definitely recommend and will go back

Lovely restaurant. Super cosy, warm and friendly. Great old fashioned decor. We felt very comfortable. It was our first time here. Waitress was so kind and attentive. No complaints at all, it was just unfortunately the food wasn’t quite there. It was the view of all the adults sadly and we so wanted to enjoy it. It was substandard across all our meals. Everything wasn’t quite right. I don’t think we will be back until there’s a change in chefs. We do think it has so much potential to be fantastic though.

The young man who was a waiter and the young lady on the bar were amazing. The food was excellent.... best Risotto I've had in a long time. The female manager was good af first but got got distracted by one customer for over 20 minutes. She talked about a lot of changes. If wo uld be a shame to make it a faceless corporate restaurant as there were people of all ages in a lovely atmosphere.

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and service was speedy. Portion sizes were good however the food wasn’t. I ordered chicken liver parfait to start, the parfait was not good with a consistency not like parfait. Main course of pearl barley risotto was absolutely terrible. It wasn’t a risotto, Ive no idea what it was, it was bland, undercooked and just awful. Friends had dishes containing ‘pan fried’ chicken which was dry, rubber, tasteless and not seasoned. It had never seen a pan. We tried to order filet steak but they had run out, our table was a 7.30 booking. I think this was probably a blessing. On a positive note I just wanted to mention the head waitress as she was lovely and very efficient. The other staff were lovely too.

Beautiful food in a lovely, relaxed environment. Service was superb and good value wine made this the perfect choice. So pleased they could accommodate us.

My wife and I have been to Alfredo's three times recently and my wife also took her friends. On every occasion the food has been excellent, the staff listening to any requirements we had and delivering lovely meals. Very friendly knowledgeable staff. Well worth a visit.

Not impressed at all, myself and one of our friends ordered seafood linguine, apart from a few prawns and what appeared to be Morecambe shrimps, there was no other seafood, we expected at least some Conwy muscles and a few bits of locally caught fish, but no. My husband ordered lasagne, when it arrived it looked as if it had been in the microwave and t or other friend ordered chicken arrabiata which was very underwhelming. Will definitely not return.

Alfredos has been our family’s favourite restaurant for years and we have celebrated many family occasions here. Last night seven of us went to celebrate my 60th birthday and it was, sadly, a very disappointing experience. We ordered calamari as some of our starters and they were almost cold when they arrived and very rubbery. The seafood linguine was tasty but the portions were small and had grit in. We had no serviettes on the table and when I requested some I was just handed a pile of them to distribute round the table. At no point while eating did any of the waiting staff ask how our food was. The barman did ask us about our experience once we had finished and he was very helpful throughout our time there. The most shocking thing was that both ladies toilets were out of order, so if we wanted to use the toilet we had to take someone with us to stand outside in the corridor to stop men coming in to use the urinal. And to top it all off the men’s toilet didn’t flush or have a light in so you had to leave the cubicle door open. The barman again was very apologetic and embarrassed by this situation but was not in a position to do anything about it. The waiting staff were pleasant but very young and inexperienced, with no one person seeming to be in charge and keeping an eye on things. We were offered free drinks which were greatly appreciated. I really hope that the new owners can turn this around and bring back the charm, character and great food that Alfredo’s has always been famous for.

Great place to eat with the family. Staff obviously understand children and how to interact with them. Food was first rate and service efficient without being pushy. Would definitely recommend here.

Just returned from our first holiday this year in Llandudno. We drove over to Conwy only takes about 15 mins along the beautifully scenic coastal road. We visited Alfredos restaurant a few years ago and this time was as good as the first. The atmosphere is very nice but the food is exceptional. We had such a lovely evening that we booked for the following night. The staff are very polite and friendly and the restaurant is a real credit to the owners. We highly recommend a visit if you are looking for authentic delicious Italian food

Our hotel booked us in here and said it had a good reputation. Seafood risotto - was a joke soggy rice in tomato sauce a handfull of frozen seafood thrown in (think the tuna was out of a tin) and two fresh mussels on top, most definately not worth £12. The side of garlic bread was burnt, which i returned came back as burnt as the first one. My partner had lasagne also could have done better.

A lovely family run restaurant with a great atmosphere! We had the pizzas and they were delicious. The staff greeted us nicely on arrival and we were taken to our table immediately. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a lovely evening here and would definitely go again if we didn't live so far away!

Really lovely meal while staying in Conwy. The restaurant has a family-owned traditional feel and the staff are all efficient and friendly. We ordered from the set two course menu and everything was delicious, good portions and great value. Would definitely come back. Make sure to book your table as it is very popular!

We were here for the "eat out to help out" scheme. For a change I thought I'd try something other than italian. Good size steak, cooked to perfection.

Visited in November after Firebreak, everything perfect, food, staff,atmosphere, we were made to feel very welcome. All covid safe.We look forward to our second visit . Thank you all

I bough my partner here for his 30th birthday and had a lovely time. The food came out so quickly, customer service was spot on and the atmosphere was great. Highly recommend this place.

We had a lovely meal here (me, my wife, daughter and son in law). All our meals were perfect with excellent service. Had a lovely chat with the ower (?) who was very welcoming and friendly. We will definitely visit again once Covid has buggered off

We headed into town last minute as the heavens opened and without a booking to see if we could at least get a drink.Everywhere we tried was full and we assumed Alfredos would be the same. As we entered wet through the lady owner met us with a warm smile, showed us her bookings for the night and explained that she simply couldn't fit us in but gave us the option if we wanted to eat in the bar area on bar stools and tables.It was cosey and fun and we had yummy spag bol and Steak and we were as ever well looked after by the owners and their staff.Always a fan of Alfredos!Thanks Doug

6 of us ate here on Friday evening though I just posted that I ate at the Quay in Deganwy on Friday ? Actually ate there on Thursday . Anyway !! Alfredo’s was fantastic. Cosiest of atmospheres and such helpful friendly staff. They couldn’t do enough for us. The menu is a large one and I have had issue with this in other places. Not here. We all ate varied starters and mains and the food was faultless. I had mussels followed by chicken in a pepper sauce. Beyond yummy !! And everybody would agree. Please give it a visit as it really is lovely.

Had a meal here during our recent stay in Conwy. Must book early to get a table as very popular.Despite current restrictions, the staff were very cheerful and helpful. Service was very quick and efficient.Of all the places I have eaten in recently, Alfredo’s had the best, most relaxing atmosphere of them all. Thoroughly recommended.Next time I stay in Conwy, I will make sure to book for all the evenings well in advance so as not to be disappointed.

Dinner with my wife. After 2 really good starter - garlic bread and bruschetta both our mains were far from what we hoped. Steak had a considerable piece of fat - meal arrived smothered in sauce! The other main a Pizza Italian was very dry. My wife didn’t fancy a desert but I went for the Tiramisu-having already seem 1 brought to an adjacent table. When mine arrived it didn’t look anything like the 1 I had seen and nothing like a Tiramisu-sponge fingers (tasteless) copious amounts of cream and chocolate sauce. On our experience I would not recommend this restaurant.

Arrived late after long drive alfredo managed to fit us in while abiding to 2 meters distances The meal was lovely and great size portions with the extra vegetables I requested And very reasonable prices nothing fancy just proper good food

All I can say about this restaurant is don't trust the gluten free items.My husband did and was extremely I'll. The staff were all very pleasant and listenedto what we said about being a coeliac but I don't think they took us seriously.We would not go back.

Beautifully appointed Italian restaurant right in the centre of Conwy. The ambience is perfect for a night out and the quality of the food is first class and most enjoyable from a very extensive menu. The service was very quick and friendly with nothing too much trouble from the staff. Overall a very enjoyable way to spend an evening knowing the food and surroundings will make it a most pleasant occasion.

This little gem of a restaurant was recommended to us by a few people in one of the pubs in town. All socially distanced tables were full when we arrived at 19.00 hrs.The staff are brilliant, very friendly & efficient. Nothing is too much trouble & we were made to feel at home instantly.We had a short wait for the food, only to be expected as it is cooked fresh. This wasn't a problem anyway as the atmosphere is just right and we enjoyed talking & joining in with some other guests.When the food arrived it was delicious, beautiful ingredients, perfectly cooked.We were not rushed from our table after the meal and we enjoyed talking to the staff & the hosts.This family have run this restaurant for thirty years, I do not need to say any more than that !Thanks again to all the team for a great night. Will definitely be back next time we are in ConwySteve

We visited this restaurant twice in a week while on holiday in Wales. The food was delicious and the staff were very efficient. Nothing was too much trouble for them. I would definitely recommend a visit but book early as they get busy.

A cheerful restaurant with very friendly and attentive service. We dined here twice. One of the dishes, a stroganoff, was spoit by an excess of onion but otherwise the dishes were very acceptable. Pizzas tended to dominate the menu - not unsurprisingly - but there was a good choice of other dishes. Would certainly return.

The food was reasonable but a bit overpriced. My prawn dish was sizeable but felt a bit like it was straight from a supermarket pack rather than fresh.

Absolutely dreadful, anaemic pizza, rissoto was inedible, looked like gruel, no dressing or finesse, garlic bread with cheese was four tiny slices of baguette drenched in cheap olive oil, steak was o.k. ( pub grub standard ) and when you complain, show, told of like a noughty schoolboy. AVOID

I've been to this restaurant several times and never had a bad experience. Ate here on a busy Wednesday during Eat Out to Help Out and it was just as amazing. Hot, tasty garlic bread followed by a very good portion of vegetarian pasta. The staff were all very busy but service remained perfect. The atmosphere is cosy and not pretentious at all. We also felt safe due to the distancing / cleanliness / precautions. 100% recommend. :)

We booked and visited Alfredo’s during our holiday in North Wales. We booked on the first sitting - 5 pm til 7pm. The set up was perfect for social distancing, the staff were efficient and friendly. Orders taken and food served promptly to ensure no waiting during their turnaround time without affecting the quality of food served. A business that has adapted well to maximise their capacity safely - well done Alfredo’s!

A wonderful meal, Delicious food, hot and fresh. Staff very attentive, they know how to look after their customers. Tables very well spaced, all staff wearing masks and everywhere spotlessly clean. Would recommend this place to anyone.

Met family here for what was a great evening and great food. Service and attention to detail was exactly what was needed in these COVID times. We simply could not fault our evening at Alfredo’s!

I went there with my family and couldn’t get a table for the first time. We had to book it for the next day. I don’t regret it at all. The food was ok, my steak was delicious, spaghetti ok, price ok and service fantastic. I think it was an owner keep asking if we were happy, the waitresses very nice, toilets the best in the town, very clean. Generally very positive

Brilliant read the reviews walked in Fully booked of course we had just arrived in the beautiful town of Conwy found this idilic restaurant and were blown away .Due to being fully booked we could have a table for only one hour which we took.The food was Stunning ,well presented and served with the best mannerisms .Selections were a plenty and portions weren’t shyWould recommend this to any one well worth a visit .

Visited tonight with my family. The place was arranged really well for spacing. Food was lovely. We had a range of Steak to Pasta to Pizza and thorougly enjoyed all. Staff were very efficient and attentive. Couldn't fault it al all. Definitely recoomend.

Friendly, helpful staff. We had a couple of pasta specials which were nicely cooked and tasty. Along with reasonably priced desserts and wine, well worth a visit.

Having visited Alfredo’s previously we had no hesitation in returning as the food and dining experience were excellent. On arrival we were shown to a cosy little table tucked away in the corner, we began to peruse the menu. Starters arrived, delicious, then things started to go wrong on the service front. Our cutlery had barely left our hands when the plates were unceremoniously swept away and before i had chance to raise my wine glass our main course was with us, within minutes. From then on we felt as if the staff waiting on were ready to swoop as soon as we had finished, to get us out and on their way home. Whoever was coordinating front of house probably need a refresher in restaurant etiquette and customer consideration. Strangely enough had the dining experience been more relaxed we would probably have lingered over another bottle of wine and perhaps a dessert and the review not an average one as the good food deserves better. Cannot believe we have visited Conwy so many times but have never eaten at Alfredo's until now. We have previously tried to make a reservation but left it too late in the day as it is very popular & tends to get booked up very quickly, no surprise as we were fortunate enough to discover when we dined there a few days ago. The food exceeded our expectations in taste & portion & the service was warm friendly and timely. We were strangers amongst the many locals dining there but felt like friends by the time we left. Can't wait to go again & would recommend to anyone who wants good quality food at a reasonable price. The decor of the place is that of a family run trattoria, nothing pretentious just good food, good value & a warm welcome.

Staying for a weekend in Conwy, we tried Alfredos for the first night and returned the next night. Unassuming outside with stripe lit canopy but inside a warm welcome to a family Italian restaurant. Husband had “best ever” mussels and good steaks and lasagne also tested. Lovely deserts. Standard Italian menu, well done.Staff were welcoming, friendly and efficient and the atmosphere was great, nicely busy on both evenings, despite the storm outside!

This has to be the best meal I have had in the ten years of living in the area. The atmosphere was bright, relatively noisy, which you expect from an Italian restaurant. I took family out for a meal, the service was first class, the food was first class, the wine was first class. You have time to choose from an extensive menu and an extensive wine list, you can ask about the menu and get relevant answers, not fobbed of by the "I'm not sure". First class all round. The weather was absolutely awful, but I guess that was nothing to do with them.

It has been many years since we last came to Alfredo’s, but it could have been yesterday as the place has barely changed. There is a good selection of pasta and pizza, all of which are reasonably priced, special are a little more. Portions were generous and service was prompt. A real trip down memory lane!

We ate there on New Years Eve and as usual found the food of a very high quality and service excellent.

Went with a group of friends for a meal. Wow, really impressed with both the meal, the service and the price. The service was outstanding, quick, polite, food was quickly served even though they were full and as soon as the food came we had waitresses all around offering pepper, cheese etc. Probably the best service I've ever had. The food was beautiful, I had the squid which was tender and tasty, then had a special which was lobster and cheese ravioli, which was tasty, cooked beautifully ( I had ravioli at another restaurant and had to leave it). Highly recommended. Would, sorry WILL go again, price was excellent too, if your coming to Conwy and have the chance this is the place to eat, Well Done everyone.

Me and my partner came to the restaurant for my birthday meal and the food was truly outstanding, we both ordered the steak Alfredo and with compliments to the kitchen staff it was perfect, the portion sizes are huge and for what we got we would have expected to pay a lot more.The 3 waitresses were brilliant and couldn’t do enough to help, they were extremely polite and were very smartly dressed all a credit to the restaurant. The lady who owns the place was so lovely and came over to ask how the meal was and as we chatted I said it was my birthday, 5 mins after the waitress came out with a plate of ice cream with happy birthday wrote in chocolate with sparklers and candles and sang happy birthday, it truly was so kind of them all, I love the decor it’s probably not to everyone’s taste but I think it’s so cosy and kwirky. Thank you again for the lovely evening xx

I was in a big party yet our food was really quick in being served. My starter and mains were wonderful, very happy with the Brushetta and the Spaghetti Marinara. Staff were lovely, very helpful and service excellent.

Let me preface this by saying I'm from NY, and I have high standards for Italian food. As a frequent traveler to the UK, I've somehow never gone to a UK Italian restaurant - so this was a first for me.

Lovely food, reasonable prices and most of all great staff resulting in a great atmosphere. Proper old school UK Italian. Really enjoyed our visit.

My husband and myself travel up to see family once or twice a year. We were up there this month and took my sister in law and her partner out for a meal, all chose different starters then gave us a rest before our mains, husband and I had the steak with peppercorn sauce new potatoes/chips and veg, the steak was cooked to perfection and the sauce creamy with a kick from the peppercorns, we had their litre bottle house wine which is very good value,the staff were very attentive and pleasant. Highly recommend this restaurant

Obviously family run restaurant that is one of the locals favorites. Had a terrific lasagna for dinner, enough for three meals for me. Owner was welcoming and accommodating even though I didn’t have a reservation.

A great atmosphere Italian restaurant with an excellent menu. Thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the service was excellent.Never had a pizza with so much meat on it, unlike the standard chain restaurants

The staff here are dedicated to excellent service and delicious authentic cuisine. Book a table as they are busy and popular. The gracious hostess was able to fit my wife and I in for supper and booked a table for the next night as well. Yes the food and service was that good.

Seven of us booked for 5:30pm for an Anniversary dinner prior to going to the Blue Bell to see a band. It was a first time visit. Clearly a popular venue as within the hour the restaurant was pretty full and it is a good size. The decor had a tired look about it but the quality of food was very good and the service likewise. A mature (and handsome) couple were in charge and clearly knew how to run a restaurant. Not only were all the pasta dishes excellent but the quantities were generous, and all at a fair price. Would not hesitate to recommend this resto.

This place doesn’t have much curb appeal but the smell exuding from the place drew us in. It’s like stepping back in time to the 1980’s, the tired and drab furniture and wood-chip wallpaper was almost masked by cool green lighting. As the saying goes, you can’t judge a book by its cover.

Service was very good, staff friendly, parking can be tricky, there again that's Conway, house wine good nice all rounder, would recommend

We ate here last Sunday. Very popular and only just managed to get a table so would recommend booking to avoid disappointment. We had pizza and the chicken from the specials menu - both nice however too many toppings on the pizza and the chicken lacked flavour. Staff were very polite and helpful.

Alfrados is a really nice restaurant, staff very friendly and helpful, food nice and tasty nice for a meal.

Easy to find this restaurant was buzzing on the night we attended but the service was quick and the food was excellent. Really good value for money.

On a Tues early evening this restaurant was heaving , prompt efficient service ,excellent meals , very good value

Ate at Alfredos on a whim and had the best Italian food I've had in a long time. Staff were efficient and friendly, food was hot and delicious.
