I went here with some friends for a celebration dinner. The food was excellent with generous portions. We got the Set Menu and it was authentic and delicious. Also received excellent service and the restaurant was elegant and sophisticated in a nice area. I would definitely return for another visit. Can't recommend it enough!

Situated on the ground floor of a modern apartment building towards the northern end of Battersea Bridge Road in an area being slowly submerged behind the ever spreading tentacles of the Royal College this had been a branch of Pizza Express for as long as I’d known it. At least thirty years. Take one pandemic and it metamorphoses into a Lebanese restaurant called Al-Phoenic.. Where in an open plan kitchen was once a pizza oven are ovens nue used for barbecuing and roasting chicken and lamb. A large iron rotisserie stick cooks slices of meat to the side. It serves a restaurant in three sections, an area of plush seating inside with a deli counter closer to the door and plenty of tables outside. Since it was a hot summer’s day and we are still in pandemic universe the outside seats were the most popular. The menu is extensive with plenty of messes both hot and cold from which we chose an aubergine and chickpea moussaka, a cheese pastry and a pungent bowl of marinaded chicken livers which was my personal favourite. For mains there was little to choose between my wife’s salmon and peppers with a mound of rice, my daughter’s chicken cubes and chips and my lamb schwarma and chips, all generous and satisfying portions. Next time I will try the lamb shanks or chicken tagine.

This is a beautiful, new family run Lebanese restaurant. Attention to detail, service and a wide variety of tastes combine into a wonderful and even exotic dining experience. The salads are beautifully presented and intriguing in their subtle tastes. The pomegranate, lemon, humous, tabbouleh, mint, parsley and tahini combine into a beautiful spectrum of taste that is also very healthy. Al Phenic focuses on lamb and often serves lamb with chicken which is a friendly combination and can be presented on skewers and served with aromatic spices and the ever faithful Lebanese fries. For non meat eaters there are a number of dishes with king prawn and for vegetarians fried haloumi and falafael. The deserts include baklava but also some traditional milk based deserts typical of the Lebanese culture. The lasting impression is one of warmth of atmosphere, kindness and healthy but intriguing tastes that linger not only on the palate but also in the memory.

14.11.24. Great tasting and well presented food with good size portions. The staff were very friendly. Looked like a family run restaurant . It was bit unfortunate that we had to wait a while after ordering but there had been some difficulty with the staff getting to the restaurant. Things happen! When the plates arrived they were definitely worth the wait!

Mi marido y yo fuimos a cenar.
