Amazing food lovely staff great value for money

Has been our regular curry venue for the last couple of years. Would not go elsewhere. Staff helpful, friendly and accommodating. Food excellent. Would recommend the chicken naga, extra hot! No licence, so bring your own drinks.

My partner and I visit Al Kahns regularly and we’ve never had a bad experience. The curries are delicious, the staff are lovely, hardworking and just can’t do enough for you. We highly recommend visiting or getting a take out! The best Indian in the area by far.

Excellent food and great service.

Never had such weird food experience.. plain turmeric with prawns n beef served as biryani karahi had capsicum n onions and not at all likable.. the worst of everything thing was v cold and rude attitude of staff .. while with other non desi customers the one and only waiter was so welcoming and smiling and to us totally opposite.. i was just wondering why on earth I went there to tolerate such attitude negative vibes and tasteless food. Surely it is for non desi pellets cuz you can feed those innocent people whatever you like on the name of indian food as of course they are unaware of original taste. never ever going there nor recommending Also not a kid friendly place no hi chairs available as well.

I have been going to this restaurant for many years, including since its Hilal days. Quite simply the best curry in the country IMHO.

This is my favourite curry house in the area. I've been several times and it's always great quality and the staff are lovely.

I got a takeaway this evening and it was delicious! I got a plane nan, chicken tikka, chilli sheek kebab and Aloo Channa. Chicken which was well spiced, juicy and cut like butter, the sheek kebab was deliciously spicy and the Allo Channa was full of flavour. The chickpeas and potatoes cooked to perfection. It came with a lovely salad. Highly recommend either eating or getting a take away from here.

Busy small restaurant from the guys that used to own The Hilal in Timperley village. Great food. BYO alcohol. Friendly staff.

We went for a fantastic family birthday meal for 12 people. The staff are lovely very friendly and very attentive. Food delightful and they catered for a vegan in the group with no problem. Highly recommended. Lovely evening had by us all :)

Was told this was a good curry place for a takeaway. Ordered the lamb samber, chicken samber and plain vegetable curry. The vegetable curry looked nice but had no taste at all and was watery. The lamb and chicken samber were both tasteless with no hint of spice etc, very bland. The mushroom rice and nan bread were good. Rather expensive. Will stick to our usual takeaway.

Popadums cooked freshly. But that is where it dropped right off. The chopped onion popodum side was very dry and tasteless. Beef madras was horrendous tough and chewy beef not seared before cooking. The sauce was like a generic curry sauce that had more pepper to give it some kick. Instead of being made spicy by using fresh gram and curry massala and spices. Had a better supermarket bottled madras sauce. Chapattis were wet and soggy. Sorry chaps. But you either need change the chef or buy him a Pat Chapmans cook book !!

The food here is always great whether it be take away or eat in. The service is excellent and the small venue is light and pleasant whether busy or like our recent visit quiet. Highly recommended.

Simply outstanding Great food Fantastic service and a very clean tidy restaurant

Thought we would give it a try after seeing rave reviews. Personally found the curries on the bland side and quite watery sauce. We ordered a delivery and the dishes were cool. For 2 curries, bombay potatoes, Naan , rice and a couple of poppadoms it was just shy of £35. I was disappointed

Went for a family meal prior to nephew and his wife returning back to Canada. There were nine of us who orderd a variety of different meals. Everybody agreed food was excellent and because you can take your own drinks the overall price was very reasonable. I don't normally do reviews but on this occasion it's very appropriate.

The food at Al Khans is amazing. So authentic and delicious, honestly its one of the best currys I've ever had. So flavoursome and delicious. Hands down my favorite curry house.

For people who live in the Timperley/Altrincham area who used to know the Hilal Indian restaurant in Timperley village, which then changed its name to the Zafraan Indian restaurant whilst keeping the same staff and Chef's, thereby keeping the same flavours that they had produced over the last 50 years, well this new restaurant is basically the Hilal/Zafraan, but in a new position on Wood Lane in Timperley. It has the same owner, staff and Chefs and the same menu, which has kept me a customer for over 50 years. I don't live in the area anymore, and was sad when the Zafraan had to close in the village last August, as I had always popped back every so often to get my fill. What a delight it was to find out that I can still get my trusted quality food, that has served me well over all these years, from a new venue, but with all the old staff and flavours. Here's to the next 50 years, I certainly won't be visiting for that long, but I know that my children and my grandchildren love the flavours and quality as much as me. Excellent food, staff and restaurant, I will be back soon.

By far the best indian food around. We've been dining there for years since the Hilal days to Al Khan's. The food is fabulous and the staff are always fantastic. So glad they're back providing top quality food. Highly recommend to everyone.

I've known these people for years. Perfect gentlemen. Fabulous authentic Indian food, and a great service. My family have chosen to eat with them when they were at The Hilal / Zafran in Timperley village. Highly recommended to anyone. Our autistic daughter adores their chicken Madras, and won't eat it from anywhere else. 😊

Fab meal with friends last night. The restaurant only opened this week but with very experienced staff service was attentive, friendly and very efficient. The food was spot on. Really fresh and full of flavour. Will definitely return.

First visit yesterday, cannot fault a single thing from the staff, the quality of the food to the atmosphere. Can highly recommend the home made samosas, like nothing I have tasted before. Will be back next weekend.
