Ajmeer Manzil in Wigan

This has become my regular go-to place for an Indian, not the closest to where I live, but the quality is to die for every time. The service is always impeccable and have I mentioned how fantastic the food is no matter what I get.

Maybe I'm spoilt having lived in Manchester, but the food was ok not amazing. Very little meat in the lamb main.

I hope this reaches the owner of this takeaway. We have ordered from here a number of times and the food cant be faulted, to be honest, we always pick up but decide to get it delivered instead for the first time. I gave my card details to the 'Manager' and it didnt work, I said it should work, please try again and the reply was "No I dont want to try again" "have you got another card". I then said OK will pick up and the phone went dead, no detail of time ready or anything. Rang back and cancelled this order & won't be going back & we used to order very often. Nightmare service. Very disappointed

Very rude …called them to place an order he said just call me tomorrow very busy and hanged up on me.

Always a great meal and pleasant staff. Can get very busy so good idea to book. Takeaways are excellent too.

Hadn't booked a table so just called in. Food was delicious, plenty to choose from. Staff were friendly too. Would definitely recommend.

Really good Indian, great service and the food was excellent, up there with best I've been too (and that is a great many) and service excellent. recommend if out on standish and want a curry after a few drinks.

Ordered from here for first time last night and was unreal. The food is so tasty! Ive found it hard to find a better indian than my favourite one in orrell but this comes very close! I will definitely be ordering from here again! Delicious!

I am totally dumbfounded and disappointed, me, my husband and daughter have just been into the restaurant to order a takeaway. The gentleman who came to take our order clearly didn’t want our custom. He repeatedly expressed that they were busy, I asked what he recommended, he explained that he doesn't know us and he wouldn’t be able to advise us as he know what we preferred. Again he expressed how busy they were and it would take up to an hour to deliver, we said that’s totally fine. He was rude, condescending, arrogant and ignorant and clearly didn’t want our money. I said we would go then as I could see he didn’t want us there, he said “that’s fine then” my daughter was upset when we came out as she couldn’t understand “why that man was being so rude”. The restaurant was busy and I expressed my concern to the gentleman that was serving at one of the tables how he had been with us. I also explained that I work for the NHS and I would t dream of speaking to anyone like he had done with us. We had been recommended to this Indian and sadly I will be making sure that other people are aware of his attitude when they ask for recommendations for an Indian restaurant. Shocked is an understatement.

Just can't fault this restaurant. Great service, atmosphere and the best curry around by miles. Only problem is that its getting busy with customers wanting the experience. Keep it up Ajmeer.

I don’t normally do reviews but ive had various meals from here and i must say “Big compliments to the chef” as i cannot fault the quality of dishes. Superb food and would highly recommend. Even the delivery guy is extremely polite and on time!! Well done and good luck for the future..

Up here for work and wanted a curry. Decided I'd be a loser and dine alone, thankfully there was only a few other people in there so I didn't look to much of a Norman no mates! The lads served me quickly and were very polite and professional. I like really spicy curries but ones that also have flavour so was recommended the l Lal-Naga. I wasn't disappointed. Beautiful. I had 2 poppadoms with pickle tray, onion bhaji starter, veg Pilau rice and the chicken tikka Lal-Naga, Plain naan with a diet coke and it came to just shy of 25 quid. Lovely. The only downside is the parking for the high street were they are located is a bit fiddly but not too bad.

Got to be the worst indian food ever. Would never have the food again.

Great restaurant, top notch food in a lovely setting

Had never been here before , but decided to pop in here with my partner the other day. We were greeted by a very polite gentleman who sat us down straight away. The restaurant provided a nice ambience with exceptional service- to make the whole experience even more better, the food was delicious! My partner who is particularly fussy thoroughly enjoyed her meal too! We will definitely come back or order from them.

Been here a few times now and it’s absolutely fantastic. A little gem in the middle of Standish. Always a warm friendly reception and loads of information regarding the curry’s. Great service, great food and a great atmosphere. Looking forward to the next time!

Had a wonderful meal there on Sunday night. Excellent food and service with a really nice atmosphere and good feel to the place. We used to go there years ago when it was The Taste of Bengal and just decided to revisit for a change. Glad we did and will definitely return. Note:- It was cash only though so be prepared although I don't know whether that's the norm there or just card reader not working on the night.

This is a lovely little Indian that serves a wide range of Indian food and drink all at reasonable prices the food is really good never had a bad dish when we have eaten here will be going again

Been visiting this indian for over 15 years and my partner 20!! We have become friendly with the attentive staff who always aim to please!! We always book a table too avoid disappointment!! Great menu selection and food is amazing!! They never let us down! We have become curry coniseurs and visited many curry venues all over the world but this still remains our favourite!! That's why we give it 5 stars!!

We've had 2 takeaways from here in the past month, one via delivery which arrived hot and before time. Last nights pick up was exceptional in quality and taste, as was the previous delivery. Highly recommend!

NYE - had food delivered - Arrived early and the food was exceptional - chicken Tikka Balti and Chicken Tikka Madras - 1st time we've tried this restaurant and we will definately eat from there again !! I can only say Outstanding in all aspects and the food was DELICIOUS!!

Had christmas indian dinner which was fantastic regards taste.The staff very nice but the delivery to our table was a little disfunctional and some items were wrong especially the puddings and it all got chaotic and mixed up as there was 15 of us.We were also rushed as other people were booked in,it did take the edge off the dining experience but they tried very hard and were very polite and nice.Maybe next year give the diners a longer time slot as it is a special day and get themselves better organised and prepared.Still enjoyed the food.

Literally awful there was a piece of hair in my food and the bengali workers were backchatting about me in bengali because they knew i was white but im mixed bengali aswell.. So disgusted by the hair in my food and overall bad customer service

Looked at the reviews thought it be good.. chicken was decent but as fir taste it wasn't so good I have a chicken tikka masala and pila rice my guts are inside out.. how when I've had nothing spicy... half the meat in the biryani was cold other half was hot moving from Manchester up to Wigan im sick of your terrible reviews on food are you all that simple you don't know good food.. its rated 4.6 you wigan people need to eat out more

Been here tonight & got to stay everything was spot on, we eat at a lot of different curry house's but everything about here was so nice & deserve top star's, I had a pashwari nan & got to say it was 1 of the best I have ever eaten.. Well worth a visit.

Great place with a wide selection on the menu. Staff have a good sense of humour. Food is good in decent sized portions. Stick with the meat and veg dishes because they're reliably great. Battered dishes are unpredictable. Altogether they're always worth a visit and do takeaway too.

Excellent food outstanding service

Went for a meal with my wife for the first time in a long while and wish we had been more often. Friendly attentive staff, the food was beautiful and we didn't feel at all rushed...food came out in good time but not in a way that makes you feel you'll only be there for a short while. We went on a Saturday evening and the atmosphere was lively with a varied crowd in there... All round enjoyable meal and experience...will definately go back
