Air Balloon in Blackpool

Excellent value for money, portion sizes took me back to my travels through America! Brilliant atmosphere and friendly staff made this for a very enjoyable experience. 100% would recommend!

Got there at 9am. Had to wait for 10am service after hotel guests. This isn't mentioned on there website, though they did serve us 10 mins earlier due to being quiet. Food was good. Deco and fittings need updating.

Great place took my sister and family there as were visiting Blackpool for the week. And they allowed my two dogs in so we didn't leave them out in the car. Thank you.

Been to many hungry horse pubs , but this was the best so far . Best sizzling plate mix up ever, cooked to perfection. Helpful staff very efficient. Thanks will defo be back 5*

Awful. One meal arrived completely wrong, by the time it was corrected the rest of the table had finished eating. Food not worth the price. Toilets dirty.

Don't know as tried to have a meal on the way back from Blackpool and in a relatively empty dining area was told it was booking only, so left.

Arrived before 5pm no tables then decided we could sit in the corner by the pool table, even though was loads of empty tables, no Sunday dinner, no curry not much of anything even jacket potatoes had run out. But maybe a lucky escape as overheard a nearby table complaining of something on their plate being frozen inside! Toilets were filthy, a dirty nappy on the loo roll holder, one had no lock one had no door and one was juuust right. So definitely would not consider you again so please don't advise.. it's a shambles

Amazing experience had my daughters 5th birthday part here with 12 other children truly amazing great service checks to make sure everything's okay

Although resteraunt was booked up most of tables were empty, found us a table in corner and although only 5pm most of food had ran out, even Sunday roast on a Sunday, so ended up having to leave. Very poor service.

Ordered a beef Sunday dinner. Beef was over cooked and little burnt. Roast potatoes were rock hard. Mash potato is just instant mash not proper potatoes. Very small jug of gravy. Service was excellent though every was friendly and service with a smile. And was good to have a play area available for the little one to tire herself out

If you want food poisoning this is the place to come Undercooked and lukewarm sausages, bacon and fried eggs Service was terrible and quick to remove your toast when you go to get more coffee No apologies from the staff when challenged The restaurant is disorganised and chaotic

Went for lunch here then my 8 year old went in the wacky play area. Had a great time and the food was spot on! The play area was great for an hour.

Come here very often with my little girl and the staff in the play area are very friendly, they go above and beyond to make their customers happy, if your looking for a place to take your children then this is definitely the place to come 😊

Food we thought was of a very good standard. Possibly other choice rather than just chips with certain dishes may have been better but we did enjoy what we had though mash might be an option some people may prefer. All good value for money and service was 1st class.

i went for a sunday dinner and surprise surprise non left.It was only 4pm… For my kids, they wanted spag bol…..the second time going to order NO spag bol. No shocks there. wouldn’t recommend

came in on sunday for a sunday dinner, had no sunday dinners, have 3 children who all wanted spaghetti bolognaise, had none of that either

Beer selection was poor 3 steaks were poor quality and one arrived with a hair on the plate!

Was looking forward to our meal only to be told they didn’t have quite a few things. When the starter came things were missing, only to be told they had ordered them to come as a main, even though I asked them to be brought as a starter. Felt like I was being accused of lying about how I ordered it. Waited 1 hour 30 minutes for food after being told there was a 45 minute wait so by the time we got out it was too late to go and enjoy Blackpool which was the whole purpose of our trip. Food was freezing too. Will not be returning

The food here is awful. Really awful. My food order came and was a flat bit of pitta bread with some pale pink slop inside. I tried some - the taste was horrible and there was bits of gristle inside it. Really bad. Not recommended.

Lovely place for family meals. Friendly staff. Plenty of vegan options for adults and kids. The vegan mushroom and ale pie has been unavailable for both of my visits. Reasonable prices. The Wacky warehouse is a bonus for me with young children to burn off extra energy.

Visited on off chance we could get a table was amazing and found us a table when was packed. Amazing customer service and food play are was great addition for the kids.

Ran out of some food we ordered, ordered something else asked for no mayo, turned up with mayo! Returned to kitchen brought out again and was partially raw. Won't be returning

My sister and I were visiting from Yorkshire and we decided to nip in for breakfast. It was delicious! The service was quick and the food was hot and tasty. The staff were really friendly and the best bit was the Yorkshire tea! A proper brew! Will definitely visit again the next time we're up that way.

I went with my Dad who used a mobility scooter and can't get up a step and his wife. We were able to book a table last minute and the website asked about accessibility needs. We were able to pretty much pick any table which we did. The ordering at the bar was fine, they didn't have a couple of dessert items. I was asked about allergies and offered the allergen information. The lamb kofta flatbread and fish, chips and mushy peas were all excellent as were both desserts (fudge cake and sticky toffee pudding. The cola is Coca Cola and was tasteless on draught (like everywhere). The staff were lovely and the prices were brilliant. The food was great. Really happy, will recommend and definitely be back! I was able to use a Greene King voucher even though it's a Hungry Horse. Thanks!

Good service for food but waited ages to get served with another drink afterwards with barstaff clearing tables and ignoring waiting customers, I left after a while without being served got fed waiting! Update! Visited again today 28th Sept 24 Ordered food on the app, had to wait more than 50 mins for food after asking, then food arrived no cutlery, and was told had to wait while dishwasher finished it's cycle! No customer service, no magement presence. Really not good!

Not recommended Stopped serving food before 7.20pm on a Sunday. A Restaurant that doesn't serve Food. Definitely 👎 0 out of 10!

Very disappointed for a few reasons. There were no straws in the entire building as they hadn't been delivered. There were no takeaway tubs to take any left over food home. Which I think is rather shocking. As some people don't finish there food and like to take a few leftovers home. After being offered tin foil. I was told they had none. Then one of the staff went and got some containers from the Lidl nearby. So they did rectify issue. But should have all the requirements that are needed on hand.

Terrible the food was shocking chips were cold n burnt looked n tasted like they been sat 2 hours. Chicken sausages and steak burnt n dry could not cut it and the half roast chicken tough n tasteless.

Arrived at Air Ballon to Eat was told that they was busy and there was a 45 minute wait for food. Ordered our food on the app and waited. 1 hour later after, a member of our party asked how our order was going, we was told it would be a few more minutes and we would get a free desert. 15 minutes later still no food. Eventually after 1 hour and 30 mins from the start of our order we was informed that they didn't have the vegetable lasagne. Obviously they hadn't even started our order plus why did it take 90 mins to realise they didn't have the food we had ordered. We cancelled our order and left totally disgusted . We usually love hungry horse but this has definitely left a bad taste in our mouth for the future.

Not been here in years Popped in today ordered food £3.79 for cheesy ciabatta to be served what looks like a child’s portion for 99p. Chips cold Asked for no peas on plate and had about 3 on my plate… How?

We visited your Restaurant in August 24 during my Birthday weekend. We had previously booked a table for 2 people we were shown to our table the table was sticky and dirty with food on the floor I eventually ordered at the Bar half an hour later our started Arived wich was very over Salted 😝 then our main course arrived my chips was luke warm and Scampi warm Peas cold and Hard .we won't be visiting your establishment again 🤔

Never again, went to have a meal with friends, we chose to have the Sunday roast. It was awful, barely warm. they didn't have roasted potatoes left and they sent chips in place. The service was appalling the lad who served us practically just dumped everything on the table. Never asked if we needed anything else like sauces etc. Avoid if u don't want to waste your money

What let this place down was the ladies toilets. Both sets of toilets either side of the building had either a broken lock on the door or no toilet paper and no soap in the dispensers. Really not on in an eating establishment.

Came for breakfast, the woman in charge was nice enough clear and lovely. However even though it was open had to wait till after 10 for food, couldn't accommodate scrambled egg instead of fried on kids breakfast.. with the chef shouting from the kitchen 'does it say that on the menu, then no!' Had run out of breakfast items and told we could substitute but were told no when we ask for the other items in place, kids having to eat else where. Very disappointed as don't know our way around here and thought with the hungry horse name it would accommodate everyone.

The food here is shocking, really not worth the money. Half a chicken is a quarter, corn on the cob was freezer burnt, white and not edible and both men’s toilets not working. We went here due to kids play area and it shut at 1500. Something really needs to be sorted out if this place wants to survive.

The food was disgusting! Couldn’t eat it. They wouldn’t allow any changes to menu (asked for no pickles) . Loads of the menu unavailable. The meal I had was like cold cat food. Bar staff were friendly but had to wait a while to be served although it was quiet. To top it off the play area was closed. Won’t be returning!

We stayed at premier inn and came to the air balloon for breckfast, where the staff are very helpful, and also has a wacky warehouse to keep children occupied. Pub was very clean and tidy.

Just moved on the area come here alot kids love wacky and food is good 🤌🏾

They were very busy due to the Air Show, so I was prepared for the wait times to be high, though several items on the menu were unavailable. The food was good and the staff were great.

I loved this place I had an all day English breakfast chips toast slushy and I had a fizzy water melon drink If you come here you will enjoy yourself I even saw some claw machines and I had a big bowl of ice cream I loved it

Extremely disappointed, very understaffed, I'd say easily needed 1 more in the kitchen and 2 more to run the food. Very poor! Very much doubt I would return.

Good food and fast and friendly service my daughter liked the play area too which is in a separate part of the pub. My only negative is I ordered a large cranberry juice and it came in a very small glass not sure what the regular would come in a little disappointing for over £3 per glass I.

We came to the hot air balloon after visiting Blackpool Zoo. A gentleman was stood around near the doors but didn't say anything to us so we just sat in some available seats. We ordered our food via the app and whilst waiting on our drinks we overheard staff talking about us and where we were sat. A party that had booked came in and we heard staff talking about where we had sat. Again, when we came in and sat down the gentleman did not say anything, there were no signs saying wait to be seated, our gables had no reserved signs on them and all the hungry horse pubs we've visited have always been help yourself to a table. Our food came and the quality was not great, they brought all the adult meals before the children's so, adults were having to share their food whilst the children waited. A few people had the same dishes yet all looked different and some had bits missing such as cheese on the hunters chicken. They did not have many options for pescatarians/vegetarians due to having items out of stock. So the pescatarian with us ended up just having the cheesy chips and bread, which staff forgot to bring. When they finally arrived after having to ask for them, they had around 3 grated pieces on and consisted of around 10 chips that tasted like they'd been sat under a hot lamp all day. The bread was rock hard and felt stale. We ordered ice creams for pudding, they brought two ice creams out of 10 and then around 5 or so minutes after we still had not received any more so went and asked. Another 6 then arrived after asking. We waited again and after another few minutes had to go ask again, where the other 2 were. We finally had the final 2 ice creams come after asking again. The service was extremely poor, the quality of food was not great and was dishes were inconsistent. They did not even seem apologetic when forgetting dishes. I'd say to avoid, especially if you are a bigger family/group.

As nice as the staff were, It seemed like they were nearly out of just about everything... As someone who works in a separate restaurant for the Greene king chain I can say there's almost a reoccurring issue with the Food as well as how it's prepared. I saw a 2 month old review mentioning how the sausages looked old and I definitely got to experience that myself, You could almost say they looked microwaved... Gammon was overcooked, and looking at the leftovers of the nearby table the meat didn't look right which definitely explains why so much of it was left. I'd recommend checking out Blackpool's wetherspoon as opposed to honestly any Greene king pub restaurant in the area.

We always come the air balloon when we visit Blackpool. The food is aways good value and the Grandkids love the wacky warehouse and the outdoor play area.

Went for dinner yesterday after a hospital appointment wish we hadn’t bothered. The service to start was slow only one person taking orders at the bar. Was not told there was a 45 minute delay on food orders so. After waiting an hour I went to check the manager said it was being dished up and on the pass. We were sat next to the kitchen when I went back to my seat we heard her shout rush on table 36 and we still waited another 20 minutes the food was a mess when it was put on the table the steak was well done when asked for rare to medium the chips on the keema stack were cold the curry Samos were burnt and too hard to eat and the keema was oily and tasteless. The tables were grubby and sticky and the unattended children running around was a disgrace if my children had done that when they were small they wouldn’t have gone out for meals All in all I will not be going back for another meal there

Do not listen to the negative reviews on here. Yes maybe there is a time where they dont get things right for some circumstances but this is a GREAT pub with GREAT food We stayed at the premier inn next door for the night Thanks!

Great food, drink and great staff

Ate here a couple of times whilst having a weekend in Blackpool with the kids, staff are lovely and very accommodating, food is nice each time we’ve been for evening meals and breakfast, I would definitely recommend and visit here again, they also have indoor and outdoor play area for the kids

I came into the wacky wharehouse last week and was looked after by the lovely Tyanna. She couldn't do enough and had such lovely manners for such a young girl. She never stopped and was brilliant with the children I brought in. Def a 10/10 for her.

Never understand why this place is never busy it's always been a pleasant experience whenever I have been before. Service is always very good and the food is tasty. Our most recent trip was a weekday lunchtime

Me and my partner came to have a work lunch and the staff were lovely as usual and the food was great like usual as well. I am continuously amazed by the quality and experience that the air balloon offers

Great food, friendly staff, good prices. The under 5s section was full of big kids being very rough, throwing and hitting each other with equipment. Very small toddlers in there. An accident waiting to happen, no one seems to man it and reinforce rules.

AVOID AT ALL COST The staff who served us was absolutely incompetent , had to keep repeating what we wanted to order and still forgot to give us our coke which might i add was £3.40 , daylight robbery, my daughter wanted to treat me to a nice meal so I decided on the Korean chicken burger which came with salt and pepper fries , the chips looked anaemic, warm and undercooked, the salt and chilli seasoning was piled onto one section of the chips which made them really powdery , worst chips I've ever had in my life My daughter ordered new York chicken which was basically chicken breast with no cheese on top , bland and warm , she said it was disgusting and ended up being sick in the toilet my grandson ordered a cheese and bacon burger which came with no bacon , the guy then brought up some strips of fatty bacon on a side plate , I made a complaint to the lady at the Counter after we ordered and paid for the sticky toffee pudding to be told 15 mins later there wasn't any , she was totally blasé and didnt seem to care or even apologise about my complaint about the food , she gave me a refund for the sticky toffee pudding which we never received and I told her we wouldn't be back again and maybe looking for a new chef as this one could clearly not cook The customer service was appaling My daughter works extremely hard and wasted 25 pounds on this garbage They clearly don't care about the quality of food or the presentation !!!!!!!! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY

Absolutley terrible food, staff didn't care. 3.40 for the amount of coca cola is ridiculous. Used to be good but has gone really down hill last couple of visits so won't be returning.

Staff made the trip, food is as you'd expect from a Greene King, fairly priced food with a car park.

Where do I start, the food is not the best Typical microwaved food. Even the dog would stick his nose up at it. And when u ask for a pint of coke u get it filled 3/4 But are charged 3.40 a glass The staff are not very happy, no customer service, check backs on food ect.

Brought our grandchildren to the wacky here today it was empty my son wasn't feeling well so he had some sleep on one of the benches the duty manager came in and shouted very rudely can't sleep here her attitude was not very professional and when questioned about it she was still very rude saying it is what it is...very disappointing visit.....

Always happy to come to Air Balloon. The kids enjoy the play area and mum and dad can get a bit of peace
