Adyan's Tandoori Restaurant in Denbighshire

Went here without knowing about it but what a lovely meal! I can’t recommend it enough. We tried to go on our second night again as it was so good but sadly it closes early part of the week. The lovely lady serving us couldn’t do enough for us. A little longer to wait for food but as it’s all cooked fresh to order it’s a 100 % worth it.

Very friendly staff, pleasant food, very good chutneys, ask to keep them on the table for the mains. Relaxed and non-pushy service. Quality football skills from the table clearer and chocolates with your bill.

Excellent, fresh food. Tasted great. Service was great, such a lovely young lady, almost single handed running place, so friendly and nice. So glad to have at long last tried the place, will certainly be our local.

We were welcomed with a lovely smile and showed directly to our table, were we were given loads of time to look at the menu. The food was delivered quickly and we were allowed time between courses to digest and savour the wonderful flavours. Really would recommend, if you enjoy India food then do not hesitate in putting or booking a table.

Great, freshly made food. The naans were especially good! There were 7 of us and we did have to wait a while for food, but it was a busy Friday night so it wasn't totally unexpected. Across the 7 of us, we ordered a variety of different dishes and not one of them was bad, so I'd definitely go again.

We had a really good meal - 16 of us visiting the area for a family and friends' event. All freshly prepared food, beautifully cooked, and family run and served. Highly recommend the place!

Lovely food, but the restaurant was freezing (we visited in December and had to keep our coats on!) and the wait for food unacceptable.

Updated: After the message back from the proprietor, it is clear that 1 they don't listen to customers' feedback on service. It's not the first to comment on it. 2 failed to read any of my other reviews 3 to answer the point on takeaway menus. I would say in my life I have been in to well over 150 if not 200 Indian restaurants along with countless other takeaway establishments and you are the only one I recall giving me a bit of paper and it not even printed correct. Have some pride in your business, set your prices for six months, and get a batch of branded menus printed. Even if you presented your a4 paper version correctly printed and presented in a menu file, it would look more professional.. 4, your delivery driver was still sat outside playing on his Ipad in the car in the same spot after we had walked elsewhere, got food, and walked back. He didn't look like he was going places fast ! Hence, the theory takeout we're not whizzing out the door. 5, As for being a time waster, if you check out my other review from yesterday, you will see I reviewed your competitor up the road also and show it included food... For everyone else, apologies for dealing with the company reply, but please do see below as it really was that bad service and atmosphere. And proprietor feedback made me drop the score further... Can't talk about food as service was shambolic. Went in for a takeaway waited for a minute. No one was serving. Two groups sat at tables, and both looked as though they were still waiting even for poppadoms. Girl who eventually spoke to us was polite enough. Menu printed on a piece of plain A4 paper and back to front even. After quizzing on cooking times reading others' reviews, she told us 35 minutes and best to phone oh and mentioned cash only. We didn't eat there.. For a Saturday night to see, no orders on the phone or food going out is a bit alarming. Feel inside, not the best..

Visited Sat 9 Sept. Big curry aficionado here last 30+ yrs. Possibly worst curry I've ever had. Chicken Pathia, Garlic naan. Just a red tasteless gravy with chicken bits. Garlic naan with no discernible smell of garlic. Service is abysmal, food takes ages to come. Other than a group of my fellow bikers there were 2 other customers all evening. Toilets...do not use. Disgusting.

What a gem! My partner and I walked in on Friday night. We clearly saw the cash only sign and it was not a problem. We had a superb meal and the naan breads, freshly cooked, were exceptional. The lovely lady serving us explained that everything is cooked from scratch and you could tell. Authentic flavours and delicious. We had a very enjoyable meal, loved the fact that it was a family run and traditional Indian. Some of the reviews left are very unkind and unnecessary in my view. Thank you for a great meal.

What a find this was! We were passing on our way back from the local CO-OP store and spotted this unremarkable building which is a very good place to eat. There's a warm welcome, tasty food and a glass of wine for only £3.50. Well done to the couple who run it. Booking a table on a Saturday is recommended, they have a lot of regular customers. The town is picturesque and there's plenty of scenic walks and places to visit.

Food here was Ok, tried the special king prawn masala, it was underwhelming, small prawns not king prawns, sauce was ok basically a tikka masala without the bright red food colouring, was a bit thin and yellow looking. The onion bhajis were kind of flat and slightly undercooked in the middle. Not too bad but not great. Naan was nice. The place smells of damp though instead of curry. And you could see the patches of damp on the walls 😟I don't think I would go again. Service was friendly and the place was busy with quite a long wait for the food. My friend got the biryani, was way too much rice and not enough sauce, but they said it was nice.

Extremely good food and lovely people however the service was really bad. The staff consisted of one girl and a 10 year old boy who was serving everything including alcohol. They were lovely people and it was lovely food but it really doesn't make for a great night when you are waiting so long to be served and then nearly 2 hours for your food. The restaurant shouldn't be open if they have no staff. Great food but avoid unless you have plenty of time. A shame.

Staying in Llangollen 9.6.23 and went for a lovely Indian meal at Adyans . They were really friendly and welcoming. Food was delicious and prices were reasonable. Lots of choice and the service was excellent. The young lady serving us was a delight .

Lovely food but the service was very slow - we had a table booked at 7 but didn’t get our food it’s 9pm. Not sure if this is normal or it is staffing issues, but I guess they were trying their best on a busy night I also ordered a tandoori king prawn and I was informed over 1 hour later that they were short of prawns and would replace some with chicken. Which is fine, but when I revived my meal there were 5 prawns on the plate (not king prawns as promised). So was a bit disappointed but the food was nice when it did come out.

Cons first. Very few staff so a little longer wait than used to be. Pros beer at good price whilst you wait a lot of curry houses do charge higher for beer. The food is freshly cooked to order and each sauce tastes individual. We had two starters, two mains and a side each were tasty and cooked perfect. Everyone try the bombay potatoe as a side to the curry it's not hot spicy but fab. Naan bread light and tasty. Poppadoms are perfectly crisp. Yes it's cash only but your told when booking or arriving, good to see a business trying there hardest during cost of living crisis to keep on going even if they have to put all hands on deck. And the girl who greets and serves is extremely pleasant. We will be back again on next visit.

A group of us went here for a meal during out motorbike trip around Wales. We had been warned that it was cash only, one can only wonder why!!! The waitress took our orders efficiently and the food came quickly. The place is quite big but was noticeably quiet. They serve large bottles of cold Cobra beer at £5 a bottle so not a bad price. The food was reasonably priced too. I had the Chicken Dupiaza and a garlic naan plus 2 Cobras for about £22. However, I and a few others, thought that the food tasted like the meat had been cooked separately and the sauce added from a jar or can which is probably, in essence, how most Indian and similar restaurants cook their food but in this case it did taste very artificial. Their one saving grace is that they openly displayed a price for each popadum and the pickles on the menu rather than just adding them to the bill as is usually the case in other places.

Sat 29th April. Never really post reviews but there were a few negative comments about this place so felt I needed to. The young lady who served us was very welcoming and polite. The food was great. Will definitely visit again when in Llangollen.

Tempted to go here but seeing the way the owner responds to negative feedback - it looks like they want a fight. You guys need to go on a ‘Customer service basics’ course.

We went there on 2 day break and I couldn't be happier. Food was very tasty and the hostess was very polite. Would recommend.

Rude and ignorant staff who left my wife stuck on a bench while I had to scour the town for a cash point after finding out it is cash only. What a shame they couldn't have told us when we booked the table, that was poor customer service from the outset. Good customer service would have been to seat her at the table we had booked. There were after all plenty of empty tables. Considering it was 8pm on a Saturday night out did seem a little sparse of customers. Upon my return from the cash point, I noticed the rather measly Food Hygiene rating of only 3 which doesn't even warrant good. When I went inside and sat on the bench with my wife for 5 mins being ignored we decided to leave and went to Aldi to get some warm in the oven Indian ready meals. From reading other reviews since I believe we made a wise choice. I suggest you read the other reviews before risking eating here. Also ask why cash only??? It's it legit in today's world? Seeing the arrogance and rudeness of your response to others who have given a poor review I don't know how you stay in business. Maybe it's because I live in an area where 99% of curry houses serve real curry, have great customer service and know how to treat their customers without calling them liars. Your responses are pathetic.

Horrible horrible horrible service! The waitress got another customer to yell at my three year old daughter that only wanted her apple juice 😞. We ended up leaving.

What a horrible experience. :( I had my three year old with me and I ordered an apple juice for her. The waitress (who seemed annoyed with me the entire time) asked if I wanted her juice in a kiddy cup and ''Yes, please''. When her juice came in a bear glass, I politely asked her to put it in a kiddy cup. The waitress started yelling and got the customers sitting across from us riled up. The waitress and the customers started yelling at my three year old child and started telling her she was obnoxious for wanting a kiddy cup. It was so depressing. If you want to be rude to and adult, I'm all for it. You Do NOT talk to my child or ANY child that way. Also, the waitress told me to go to the indian restaurant down the street so maybe I will.

Very rude lady on the reception. Closing time earlier than advertised when booking and provided no alternative time when we could book, didn’t seem to want our business

Friendliest welcome in a restaurant passed 10 pm(22) and the only place in town to offer food so late. Great food and wonderfully understanding service. Simi is a perfect hostess and a great Cobra beer promoter.

Absolutely wonderful! We had a amazing meal, it was tasty, hot and fresh. Simmy, our waitress was fantastic and what a credit to her family’s restaurant.

Popped in without a booking, all 9 of us received a warm welcome and were well looked after. The food was really really good, could not fault a thing . Good size portions and reasonably priced too. Would definitely go back when we return to wales.

Had two take aways from there now and both were very good, will definitely be ordering more

Always amazing food. We are locals and when we have family visiting we always like to bring people here. Family run business who cater to individual tastes exceptionally well. I like my curries very hot and Adyan never fails to deliver. Can't recommend highly enough

Never fails to please. Yet another excellent meal. Such a wonderful choice of authentic Indian food.

Was suprised that our curry had about only 6 very small pieces of chicken in the sauce, we are only visiting for a few days and fancied a takeaway. The chips were not great, however the rice was good and as expected. The onion bhajis didn't look overly appetising and not fresh. I didn't eat them for this reason, the sauce of the curry wasn't too bad. I would say the experience was average, would I visit again or recommend?.. Probably not, I try to be completely fair and accurate with any reviews. Pretty sure we were overcharged aswell, just checked out the menu and I think we were. I'm suprised that the response from the resturant is very confrontational, you should embrace feedback and try to improve on visitor experience. Feedback is positive for anyone as it gives invaluable opportunities to improve. A serious attitude check is in order. Wow, another professional response. You will see that you are the lowest review I've left in a very long time, you should direct your energy to improving your service and quality rather than having a go at customer feedback. If anyone is reading this I strongly advise to avoid this place. The quality and quantities were awful. I didn't eat half of my food as it looked like rubbish. As I mentioned, just order rice. It actually tastes great. Also do you think that an owner reacting to feedback like this is professional?

Simran (sorry if misspelt) at front of house was wonderful and incredibly accomodating. I have a severe nut allergy and they dealt with this perfectly and made me feel comfortable. They accommodated our table of fishing rabble wonderfully and the food was great. Would definitely not hesitate to go here if I am in the area again as it was very comfortable, welcoming and the food was delicious! Thank you for being so lovely Simran.

Good food but cash only which isn't clear until you try to pay the bill. When questioned we were told their regulars know. We weren't regulars. They said there was a notice on the door, the door was open when we got there so didn't see it and on leaving we looked to see an A4 sheet on the door with around 20 lines of writing where in the midst it did mention. 🙄

Lovely meal. Great staff and very friendly, made you feel very welcome. Simran the host was a delight to chat to. Couldn't do enough for us. And to top off the night we met the next arm wrestling champion of the world Adyan. Keep training young man.

Tasty Indian cuisine for eat in or take away well worth the short wait and charming service

One off visit while on holiday. Went in on chance at 6pm. Made very welcome. Small and cosy. The food was very very good , we are hard to please but this was exceptional. Clean everywhere had a family run feel. Wish we could go again. Chicken Shaslick, and a Balti made to milder order. Please go!

Turned up covered in dust and paint after a day decorating. Originally planned to get a takeaway but realised it would be quicker to just eat in. The young lady was rushed off her feet but coped admirably, with a smile at all times. She didn't blink an eye at the state of our dress and soon settled us at a table. Food was good and reasonably priced. Definitely one to recommend.

Welcome to Llangollen, the town where eateries shut at 9... Except the Adyan (thank the lord for we were hungry...). As for the continental pavement nightlife... It ain't happening in Llangollen any time soon. For sure it has a world heritage site aqueduct, horse drawn canal boat trips, and a bridge draped in embroidery (though to be honest it looks like the whole town has hung it's washing out on the bridge) but it's early to bed in Llangollen ...no doubt with a mug of Horlicks. Thankfully the Adyan was open and welcoming and the curry was fresh and warming - and gratefully and well received.

We enjoyed a lovely meal here. The lady there seemed to be doing a number of jobs all on her own. Greeting customers and showing to tables. Serving drinks, taking orders, Serving food, clearing tables and taking telephone orders for takeaways. She did all of this with a smile on her face and in a very pleasant manner.

Just had the chicken biryani and to be fair it was fantastic 5 stars

1st time at this Indian, chicken madras was amazing , will go again 😋

Lovely food ! Got a takeaway while on a camping holiday, we didn't fancy our planned beans on toast, so looked for local takeaways and we were glad we chose Adyans. We will definitely go next time we stay in Llangollen

Great friendly staff, good food

Best curries in town by a mile! Wouldn't go anywhere else :) great service and even brought it to our door. Vindaloo and pathia were full of flavour and delicious. Naan bread second to none. Thanks :)

We ate here on recommendation of a local. The food was good and the staff where more than helpful to make sure my food didn't have any gluten in it. The only gripe we had is it was cold inside we appreciate they had just opened and it was freezing outside but maybe the owner could put the heating on a timer. The curry soon warmed us up.

Looks like it's closed down. No sign of life when we went there this evening after finding it on Google. No lights and a shabby sign. Shame as the pics on here make it look lovely.

Worst Indian food I have ever had. The curry tasted like it had been microwaved in a tray from Iceland and was very watery. Hardly any flavor at all. The chicken in the curry was rubbery too.

Get a vindaloo take away almost every week...so consistent with the flavour and quality of chicken..can't fault it really...they say it will take 20 / 25 mins ..and it does..piping hot.. can't wait for the next one

Scruffy looking place the service is terrible and the management's attitude stinks we left without eating our other friends stayed but said the food was terrible and took ages to arrive do yourselves a favour find another Indian. I never ask to cancell my meal I wanted to change it and as your Web page says all your food is cooked fresh but ours was cooked before we even sat down so another lie our friends didn't like saying they didn't like it because your the aggressive arrogant pig and you had already told them they would have to pay for our meals I will also be contacting the vat and tax people to check your books as you only take cash Yeh really there is also other comments on your reviews about your aggressive attitude get your facts right before you Slag the customer or you won't stay in business for long we eat in a lot of Indian restaurants this is the worst one we have ever been and will recommend to everyone to avoid this horrible place

Just had an amazing meal. We'd been to this restaurant some years ago and not had a particular nice experience, however seeing it was under new management we decided to give it a try. The food was cooked fresh and was delicious. Service was excellent. The restaurant has been refurbished and is now bright and clean. If you're in Llangollen call in tou won't be disappointed.

Had a great meal and staff where really nice

Loved our meals here, everything's was delicious. Had the cauliflower bhaji and the lamb dansak with pilau rice. Was so good I'd order it all again.

OK ! Now I was a little confused to see such variation of reviews over several review sites about this restaurant. So, im on holiday in Llangollen and want to try this place out, as I adore Indian food and have eaten a lot of it and love cooking it. My verdict is....do not fear those poorer reviews and note the great ones ! There are many great reviews of which are fully deserving. Me and my partner ordered a take away meal and when I collected the food, the guy that served me was fantastic. Very chatty and polite guy,that showed an interest in his customer and clearly knows how to provide good customer service. The food was piping hot when I got home some 15 mins later and tasted so good. We both opted for chicken tikka mossala with plain rice, peshwari naan and onion bhaji. There were free poppadom,s in the bag too!. The Tikka mossala was plentiful and had at least 10 chunks of nice chicken tikka breast. It tasted perfect with good flavours and a little kick which was just right. It was not greasy and just the right sweetness to it and not over laced with cream like so many. The bhaji,s were big and fresh and crisp outside,soft and perfect ly cooked through and not overly oily! They were gorgeous. The rice was cooked to perfection and the bread was sweet and tasty and very fresh ! The best bread I've had yet from any tandoori restaurant. Overall I'm very impressed and highly reccomend Adyan,s and believe that there are some unfair reviews on this great restaurant of which are so not deserved. Thank you to the chef and the chap that served me.Excellent meal. Having seen a latest review and the customer being negative, I cannot understand why the owner is so aggressive with the response ? It would be nice to see the negatives taken on board instead and an apology for disappointing them !. I see no response for those of us that praise this restaurant. I will remove my review should I see this kind of aggressive response again, because we should all be able to say what needs to be said, with the intension of the owner putting it right ?.

Very poor service, not a great menu however the chef will do his best to accommodate, a cup of tea is served in a coffee pot, meal served on a chipped plate, no music, decor or atmosphere....won't be returning

Had a takeaway from there last night after resisting for some time as the previous owners were at one point forced to close by the food hygiene inspector! New owners for a while now who are very pleasant and attentive. Food is great, plenty of it and very tasty. I will certainly return many times if they keep this up. Thanks. Update: I've been back many times to eat in and get a take away, the food is still great and the owner is as helpful and accommodating as ever.

Friendly family owned and run restaurant. The service is quick. The food is delicious. Would definitely recommend. I visited 3 nights on the trot and tried a different curry each night. All equally enjoyable. The peshwari nams are so light and fluffy. You will not be disappointed.
