Been coming to aces for years, came on a Monday with friends to have drinks and take advantage of the Monday pizza deal. Really loved the pizza but the female member of staff working behind the bar that night was really rude and off putting. When ordering drinks she sighed heavily and said sure as if I had asked for something completely mad, severely under poured a cocktail but her demeanour made my anxious about asking her to fix it. All other staff were nice and friendly, just a really weird vibe from this member of staff.

Useless. Booked table for six. They didn’t honour. Got there and nowhere for us. Staff members unbothered. Manageress didn’t even apologise. Left and went home to order in. This was our favourite local bar/pizzeria. We felt disappointed and will not use again. Sort yourselves out.

Excellent pizza, friendly bar staff, good choice of music and shockingly cheap for London. I paid £4.20 for a pint of Somersby! I'll be going to quite a few shows at the Dome across the way over the next few months, and I'll definitely be stopping by Aces and Eights first to get dinner.

It can get quite busy, especially on weekends and if there's a festival on in the area, but otherwise they do great cocktails and a good range of other drinks. Also the pizzas are made quickly to order and are really delicious. Good place to go before a gig in the area.

I’m a bit sceptical of the other reviews on here that say they were turned away and the staff were rude? The staff were really pleasant and friendly when we visited, the pizza was hot, fresh and crispy, venue has lots of character and played rock music in the background. The atmosphere was great and they couldn’t have been more polite. Lots of work has been done to make the venue COVID secure. We’ll definitely visit again! The pizza is a decent effort - it’s not the best in the world, but it’s worth a visit for the atmosphere alone so give it a try :)

Visited the bar yesterday Sunday 21/0719 order a pint of shipyard ale £4.20 the bar girl served me, gave her £5, she gave me my pint and did not give me my change pretending like she had forgotten, the bar was not busy at the time, when I told her that she did not give me my change her reply was " You should have asked" why should I ask for my change when she should have given my change to me. I decided to drink another pint but want to use by card instead the bar girl bluntly refuse to serve me, what kind a desperate reap off service. Management needs to look into it will never go there again. Ace of Eight Turfnel Park.

Ordered a half Heineken that was completely flat. Asked politely if I could have a different lager only for the bar man to tell me it had been served to me on the wrong glass (like it was my fault) then continued to pour my half lager into a pint glass! Handed it back to me and said ‘ come back if it’s Still a problem’. I was in complete shock to be honest. Never experienced anything like it. So arragont and plain wrong. Just left and went across the road the Boston Arms where they know how to run a bar!

My wife and I popped in here before going to the O2 in Kentish Town. Nothing fancy because assistant it's a bit of a rock n roll bar where local bands play, and comedians etc. So it's not plush by any means, but that's OK. The pizza is freshly made though and is absolutely delicious. My wife had the vegan pizza and it looked and tasted amazing

Most recent visit, I asked for two drinks at the bar to be rudely told “we don’t serve people in sportswear so.” No apology or explanation just a shrug of the shoulders. For those curious, it was the day after we had some snow in London and I had dared to wear dark navy tracksuit bottoms. The irony of being told this by the dismissive bar woman who had an oversized hoodie on with the hood up at the time wasn’t lost on me. I think dress codes in general are bad and judgemental but I did not expect to come across it in a bar that prides itself of being alternative and being a space for open-minded, liberal performances/comedy, on a very quiet Wednesday night. Made to feel unwelcome and embarrassed.

2 stars and a poor review as the food was good but the barwoman was so rude that maybe she has to consider changing her occupation.i strongly believe that the waiting staff of a famous London pub should have possitive energy and to respect the guests that spending time and money so they can have after a day at work a pleasant evening with friends with good music and even better customer service.Behaviour like your barwoman's should be reported and addressed for the good of your bussiness.

Until about a yearly ago this was a late night dive bar with good music and good decor. They decided to make it less 'dive'-like - cleaner, tidier, take much of the artwork away, and guess what? Customers didn't flood in to a place that had binned its personality. Tonight I tried to go in for a pint. One, on the way home, by myself. About 23.15 - fancied sitting at the bar with a drink, watching and thinking, like you do sometimes. Bouncer goes "Three pounds." "What for?" "Come in here." "Just want a pint at the bar mate." "Pay three pounds then." Do you know what, Aces and Eights, I'll pass. I'll miss you when you're flats, but tonight, I'll pass.

Not a place for tourists or meet friends, but a place to watch: up and coming bands and comedians. Furniture is basic, bear and a little uncomfortable. Walls and decor are dark. Toilets are small, smelly and need updating. Performance area is in the basement, where there is little to no ventilation. Small and sweaty. The young people, who perform there and who go to watch their favourite bands or bands with their friends in, seam to like the place. The drinks are relatively inexpensive

No cubiertos aunque, ten cuidado.

As my new local Aces and Eights did not disappoint. I have sampled a selection of their cocktails which, in my opinion, are reasonably priced (£7-£8.00) strong and pretty. Their happy hour offers buy one get one free offers on the same cocktail which is also pretty handy and this is from 6-8 Sunday - Friday. They offer a selection of wine and beer including Guinness which pleased my boyfriend but their speciality seems to be in whisky and bourbon for which there is an extensive list. The seating itself looks a little run down, and some of the booth cushions are ripped but given the decoration of the rest of the place this is in keeping with the Rock vibe. Although not remotely Rock and roll myself I didn't feel out of place. They have a selection of evening entertainment held downstairs which means that if you aren't into comedy or dj's you can stay up top. They also offer amazing looking Pizza which I wish I could try, however with a gluten intolerance this is difficult. From what I have seen coming out of the oven, I'm missing a treat.

Aces and Eights were one of three venues for Doom Over London VI this weekend. The promoters suggested that A & E was a good place to go for pizza as well as bands. I went across on Saturday and ordered a veggie pizza and had a pint of Hophead beer. When the pizza came, served by the chef, who was very friendly and welcoming, it looked good. When I tried it I was even more impressed, one of the best pizzas (if not the best) I have had, even better than the one I had a week before in California. Hophead is a beer I like so the combination was good. Needless to say I went back Sunday. There are 20 pizzas on offer, half are veggie and they can be made vegan too. I hired the Aces and Eights downstairs bar for a private party last weekend and had the time of my life! Tim (Bar Manager) and his staff were really helpful on the run up to the party, answering all my questions promptly and offering help and advice when needed. The downstairs bar has a secret, speakeasy feel to it with gorgeous velvet lamps and quirky mirrors and it's own bar and toilets, so guests needn't venture up stairs unless they want to.We were given access to the room before the party and free reign to decorate as we liked so we were able to make the event really personal. On the night we had our own bar staff who were on hand to help guests and served drinks with great friendly banter. We ordered pizzas for our guests which went down a storm, easily some of the best pizza in London. So if you are looking for a place to host your next party or just drinks and food with friends then look no further than Aces of Eights, an intimate venue with a unique character, friendly staff and a relaxed party atmosphere.

Have spent some very pleasant mid-week evenings here and the pizzas they do are absolutely excellent and great value. Also they have a terrific downstairs club/function room which, although very small, I've attended some memorable events and parties at. However recent visits have been marred by execrably woeful "singer/songwriter" types caterwauling away on the stage which have only made us want to finish our drinks and leave as promptly as possible. Cannot imagine who wants to listen to this twaddle apart from the friends of the performers but if they must be allowed a platform, why not downstairs where they are out of earshot of those trying to enjoy a drink or pizza? The bar staff have always been friendly and efficient but the door staff must be amongst the worst I've ever encountered, obnoxious and aggressive to the point of absurdity. This is a bar that has great potential to be one of the very best in North London - especially if they would bring back the wonderful music quiz they formerly held on Tuesday night - but sadly at present is being drastically marred by their choice in mid week 'entertainment' and a door staff that are doing their best to drive the regulars away. 'VG' rating solely for the wonderful pizzas (the kitchen would appear to be run separately from the bar so would be unfair for my rating to reflect the venue's other failings) and the pleasant times had when been Steroids R Us and the local Bob Dylans have had a night off.

Went to see a friends band play in the basement of this venue, it was only 9pm and the door staff were already out, I had a large bag with my laptop etc and I knew this would hold up the queue. I kindly mentioned to them that my bag is quite large a few times because I could see the queue getting larger. It's was full of clothes, my laptop, chargers etc, the curt door woman then told me she didn't care and that she wasn't touching it. I was then made to empty it outside the venue by the dirty street, and then referred to my clothes as 'those things', it was all quite uncalled for hostility. Finally I got my ID out to go in and they said 'we didn't ask for that' and then pushed me in without even checking. Once inside I went to get some whisky that I saw on the menu from the bar, and the barman firstly had never heard of it, and then after going to get it, told me that they didn't stock it?! Total confusion. The rest of the evening was okay, just a normal bar with loud music that you couldn't really talk over, nothing special, and worsened by the rude doormen who ruined my evening.

This is my local and one of my favourite bars in North London. It's really unlike any other bar in the area - completely eclectic music styles. You do feel like you've walked into a saloon bar - dark inside, booths, rock n roll music on occasion, juke box in the corner. It's particularly useful if you work shifts which finish late - as it's open until much later than most other bars and serves food when the restaurants have closed. The pizzas are medium sized and very tasty, cooked by an Italian chef who hangs out in the back of the bar with his pizza oven. There's a great deal on Monday where you get two pizzas for £12, so that's particularly good value. There's one brand of beer which is always less than £4 for a pint, which is also decent for the area. I wasn't very impressed with the cocktails if I'm honest - when I've had Long Island iced teas in there they've not been very strong, not mixed and mostly ice. So I'd avoid those and stick to beer and wine. It's a really varied crowd, non pretentious vibe and equally good for getting together a group of friends or just going for a catch up.

If you're heading there specifically for pizza it's best to go early on as it can get very busy later, especially at weekends when they have dh's and bands playing.

So we arrived as instructed to a fairly empty Aces & Eights, but then again it was only 6pm. We were here for pre-gig food and drinks. The place is dark and dingy in a purposeful way, with gig poster wall paper and neon lights. There are wooden booths all around the edge of the space, with a long bench in the middle space. Most of these were occupied with one or two patrons, who were there watching the Six Nations rugby that was on the big screen. Perusing their drinks menu, I was delighted to see they had Sierra Nevada pale ale by the bottle, so I pick this as my tipple.Their food menu did pizza and pasta. But as we had pizza earlier in the day, we all opted for pasta. I was told their cannelloni takes a long time, time I didn't have, so I went for the lasagne. And as the same as everyone else who ordered the lasagne, I was disappointed. It was bland with way too much tomato and bechamel sauce poured all over it. It also wasn't very hot. The garlic bread was OK, but not much better. It came with a tomato sauce on it, which I think it could have done without. Their pizzas did look good, but I don't know how they tasted.Another thing that would stop me going back is the table reservations. Every single booth and table had a reserved sign on it. This is a bar, right? On this occasion it wasn't a problem because we took a table that we knew we will have vacated by the time the people who booked it had arrived. But given the choice later on a Saturday night, I'd probably not pick Aces & Eights due to the chances of getting a seat being lowered significantlyI would go back, but only for the booze and there was a seating available

Nice Italian place, near Kentish Town station. The pizza carbonara was delicious, and the menu offers several typical dishes from the Veneto region. Although the space is small the place is comfortable and decorated with old photos and maps. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Good vibes.

Amazing theme but even more amazing staff and food. Had the best time here chatting to locals and exploring fun themed cocktails. Overall fang-tastic!

We were served by Erida today in pizza express in Belsize Park. She was amazing. She recommended us a pizza which was absolutely delicious and also introduced us to tasty Christmas snowballs. It was so tasty we ended up having it twice. Overall amazing customer service. Will definitely visit again
