I visit this restaurant regularly and always make sure to take any guests that I have visiting. It is easily the best restaurant that I have eaten at in Leeds. The vegan platter is delicious and the coffee ceremony is a lovely end to the meal. Abdul the owner is extremely accommodating. I couldn't recommend it highly enough!!!

I took my boyfriend here when we were staying in Leeds as he had never tried Ethiopian food before. We both loved the food, we had a giant spongy pancake with lots of vegetarian bits topping it. Delicious! No alcohol sold but can byo. Recommended

What a delicious dinner! My family and I dined out at this wonderful Etheopian restaurant and were not disappointed. The sharing platter was amazing with a diverse selection of both veggie and meat dishes to sample. Loved the coffee ceromony where the beans were toasted in front of us and incense accompanied after brewing. Highly recommend

I have a confession to make. In my 38 years of life on this planet I have never tried Ethiopian food before. Today, however, I celebrate the rare opportunity to experience something brand new, and so wonderful I'll be waxing poetic about it for weeks and months to come. My spouse and I shared the Abyssinia Special, which was a platter with a little bit of everything both vegetarian and meat. We were told it was meant for two, but honestly if we had four around the table nobody would have left hungry. I can't express how good this meal was. Flavours I've never tried before, especially the injera which pulled everything together beautifully. Every item was completely distinct in taste and yet fully harmonious. My favourites were the spinach and the curried chickpeas. I asked my spouse what his favourite was but he just said 'everything.' After our meal we ordered the coffee ceremony. The gentleman (I think he was the owner but I can't be certain) showed us the beans as they were processing, showed us the transformation from green to black, and let us see and smell as they were roasted fresh just for us, and even told us a bit about the history of coffee and the origin of these beans. It was served in a stunningly beautiful earthenware pot with a basket of popcorn and a smoking bowl of incense. It really was an experience like no other, and possibly the best coffee I've ever had. I've had Italian, Turkish, Arabic, French, and American coffee and honestly this beats all. What a revelation. What an experience. Finally I just want to take a moment to appreciate the man (again, the owner? Maybe?) working tonight. If hospitality was a person it was him. He was the embodiment of welcome and charm. You can tell how much passion he has for his food and business, it comes through in every aspect of this place. Truly it was a privilege to spend a few hours here.

A lovely cosy place in the middle of an unexpected area. Ihave never tried this type of food, but from what I'm told - it is very Authentic. The service was prompt and kind, the food fresh and very cost effective. Genuinely a welcome change to the normal choices for a Friday night, and if you're in the area, make sure you stop by. The chicken was to die for and definitely one that I would recommend (in the middle next to the egg)

Our server was tremendously friendly, took delight in answering our questions about Ethiopian culture and went out of her way to ensure everything was to our satisfaction. The coffee ceremony was fantastic and created some of the best coffee we've ever had. Incredible value at just over £40 for the pair of us.
