Abu Zaad (Ealing) in Ealing

Looks like nice food but Very poor. West Ealing is spoilt with amazing Persian and Lebanese restaurants this isn’t one of them. I alsways wondered why it is empty. Never again.

A very aesthetic restaurant with great middle Eastern design, it really makes you feel like you're are in a foreign place far from London. There is a wide variety of delicacies to choose from on this menu and what is fantastic is that the menu provides accurate and detailed photos of which each meal on the menu looks like. This is a unique and very helpful feature especially for those who are hear to try a new type of food. The prices aren't bad and are very reasonable considering the great protions provided. Another thing to point out is that the variety of desserts on the menu is bigger than a usual restaurant and there's even a separate section near next the counter with their diverse assortment of deserts on display as if theres a separate desert shop inside the restaurant. As of my personal experience, I came here with my family and the staff were very friendly, provided great recommendations and were swift with our requests. An overall splendid experience

We were at a local outing and decided to come to Abu Zaad for a late lunch at 4pm. I called the restaurant to say that there will be about 8 adults and 16 children coming. We are mothers and between us we have 2-4 children each. Now where do I start. Let me just explain how much in shock I am as the service is just terrible. Abu Zaad management is stingy and greedy and have very poor ethics with providing customer service. Right from the beginning staff made it crystal clear that we have to pay by cash and not pay for individual bill, but pay for as many bills together as we can which sounds really dodgy. I got a main Meal for £13, 2 x wrap, chips and a starter- my bill was £34.95, a decent amount for lunch for a mother and her kids! All my other friends and sister got similar for themselves and their children. My sisters bill was £12.50, she got a Wrap and some chips. The staff (who has curly hair and about medium size), very rudely said to my sister that she needs to order more food. Apparently they have a Policy that came from management, that for every five people, two people need to order a main . Wraps are not considered main! They were so angry that my sister got wraps and also some of the other mother got wraps too. They could not stand that we did not spend enough and that’s when the discrimination all started. We did not want to get out children sugary drink. We asked for glasses and tap water for our children. They were refusing to give us glasses one jug of water came about 15 Min later and then the second jug came a further 15 min later. We kept saying we need water, they were upset because they did not want to give any tap water. It’s free, and they couldn’t make profit so we’re withholding. Throughout, the lady with curly hair had very bad attitude but I overlooked. Then I went to ask if I can have a container, to take home food that was not eaten (I try to avoid wasting food). When I asked , the older man frowned, waved his hands and said something in Arabic. I did not know what he said but by his body language suggested that the managements stingy attitude did not want give me container- it really offended them! After all this, I spoke out and said to them that their customer service is unacceptable. It is not okay to force customers to buy more than they want, enforce such rules on how much one should older, discriminating against mothers and children, refusing to give water and extremely rude attitude. They did not even apologise! Just full of arrogance. It was unclear to understand who the manger is, but the guy with green eyes and hair tied back seemed to have more authority, and never did he apologise to us for their horrible service. The curly hair lady called me ‘a charity’ because apparently I didn’t buy enough! I don’t understand , I paid £34 for lunch and they expect me to buy more. How dare she call me charity. The green eyed guy heard and said nothing. Infact he pulled out my receipt and made fun of how much I paid! Disgusting attitude, anywhere else this women would get disciplinary action for calling her customer charity and Management needs training. Also to mention that their whole business sounds dodgy. Forcing me to pay by cash and limiting the number of transactions. They said that their card machine is not working and told me to get cash out. I walked down the high street and both atm Machines were not working . I came back and said , I couldn’t get cash out, so the green eye guy told me to make a direct bank transfer. I started making direct back transfer via my phone app but my phone was taking time. Magically the card machine came out (why, did they lose patience and just wanted payment after calling us charity??) and suddenly the card machine starts working! I am so disgusted with their attitude, as customers we had to fight for basic rights. Not even an apology or willingly to hear the customer out. I understand that financial situations isn’t great, they are probably struggling as a business but do not ever tell your customer to buy more food if they don’t need to, refuse water to children, frown at customers for asking for containers, napkins and glasses and name calling. Your business will not survive with such disgusting attitude. Greedy, arrogant, stingy, mother and child discriminating needs to change. Please put up sign saying your policy where for every five people, Two need to order main! Ridiculous. And this is not the first time that the curly hair lady has been rude, I have been there before and she was rude but. This time she was just horrible and she needs training how to speak to customers with respect. I will never eat there again.

Larger open plan, comfortable and reasonably good Lebanese food. We tried it out after shopping at nearby Waitrose. But we have eaten better elsewhere.

After shopping at the nearby Waitrose, we tried Abu Zaad as we love middle-east food. Place was empty probably because it was Ramadan. Ordered a Lamb dish and Chicken Kabob. The chicken was the ground up variety rather than chunks, but that have been our fault for ordering the wrong item. Lamb was served with a delicious sauce. Portions were large. Our favorite part was the rice(!) of all things. We also bought some boxes of Arab chocolates as gifts. Sampling, the chocolate was not that great. All in all, we found better mid-east food elsewhere.

Best restaurant ever the food is soo good and the seasoning is perfect the staff is so friendly and helpful i recomend the mix grill its soo good

Poor quality, horrendous service and a complete rip off. £28.70 and I asked and paid for extra sauce which was put through as Misc and I didn’t get it. No bread to eat with the dead dehydrated falafels. I am not even going to finish eating this awful meal. I always order on my bet eats. But in person takeaway it’s appalling. You have now lost a loyal customer. Goodbye.

From the moment we came in we were ignored, by one of their curley haired, mid sized female employee. She then came and provided us glasses that smelt like they came directly from the sewers! Food was tasteless and bland. They did have a lovely older male employee that made the experience a bit better. But overall not worth your money.

Visited the restaurant last night for dinner with a friend. We ordered our food. We had the starters and the main course surprisingly arrived shortly 5 minutes after. The waitress was shocked we asked here to take it back as we are not even half way through the starters. Rather than serve us a fresh dinner later we were given the food that was kept warm somehow or reheated in the microwave prior. I ordered lamb mandi and half the meat was skin & fat. We were fighting a fruit fly during our dinner to stop it from landing on our food. Once we finished our food the dirty plates were left in front of us for ages. We always have a pot of mint tea or Arabic coffee with some baklawa to finish the night off but we were not offered any last night. It seems the waiters and the cooks have no service experience and the restaurant manager non existent. I used to go the Shephed bush one and I had a bad experience hence never returned there. This is my last visit the West Ealing to.

Went with family. Ordered 3 main dishes, 1 side and 3 starters plus drinks. Food was of very poor quality. Chicken was burnt, si burnt we couldn't eat it. Chips were cold and soggy. Drink were warm. Customer service slow, inattentive and rude. Unfortunately, my family and I used to be customers long time ago then after repeated bad experiences we stopped going. We decided to try once more time but regretted it from the get go. Really bad experience. It's not only this branch in Ealing but it the Shepherd Bush branch. Never again.

I decided to go for a meal with some mates. I was welcomed and seated. However the problem started once the order had been placed. I requested everything together as we were a group of six and wanted to enjoy our meal together. I ordered a platter for 4 people and 2 people. Within the first 30mins of taking the order I received a single persons platter which was one bite each for six of us and was not what we ordered however we were given the assumption that it was the platter for two people and then when requesting the receipt it showed the waiter had made a mistake in processing the order however they experienced manager initially played it out that that was what we ordered. When questioning the waiter who happened to be the female manager, of whom I did not get a name, I was told that this was the double platter and when the platter for four came, about an hour after the init all platter came, it was actually the double platter and the manager again said “ when it’s busy like this don’t order the platter for four” I was appalled that she found it to be appropriate for did satisfactory portion sizes when busy. Totally unacceptable! I then saw the platter for four on another table and pointed that out to the mama her and then she eventually came clean that that was the platter for four. I felt cheated and it ruined our meal. I don’t believe payment should’ve of been necessary for such dire service. Reviewed yesterday Very rude staff! Hungry for money! Greedy people! I went to the restaurant with my family to enjoy our evening, the staff were very rude, made a mistake with the order and tried to blame us. When I corrected her she didn't like it! Ended up saying "We are busy", but we didn't say anything, this lady has a very bad attitude! Couldn't even finish my food properly, one of the staff comes upto us and tells us to hurry up because people are waiting next to our table, we came to the restaurant around 6:10pm and left around 7pm! Not even 1hour we stayed! I told the guy give me 5 to 10min, because me and my children just have finished! He didn't wanted to accept to give us 5mins, kept on saying we need to go and help him coz other people are waiting, the rude lady came and took the glass from my husband which he wasn't finished drinking the water! Told the staff's there, what you guys did to me and my family, would you like it if someone treats you the same? Answer was NO, I would never go there again, the place was very busy but please don't treat customers like this at the end like an animal just for money! Especially when they are out with there teenage children's. Very greedy people. Spent so much money! I hate that place so much! Only evil people do that who has no faith and humanity in them.
