We spent seven very comfortable nights at the Aald Harbour B & B. The room was greatt, the bed comfortable and facilities in the room excellent. The choices at breakfast were really good and Lynette was happy to modify dishes to personal taste. All in all the Aald Harbour has got to be Lerwicks premier B & B

Charming tea room and very pleasant staff. Easy to find just off the Esplande. Nicely made sandwiches and pastries. Excellent tea! Will definitely go back.

Visited Lerwick on Saturday the 5th may 2018 with my two daughters for an emotional family trip, after a wee taster in the town we went to the "Aald harbour tearoom" it was fully pre booked for the afternoon, but we were welcomed and seated, the table setting, cutlery , and silver coffee and teapots were immaculate!!! Staff friendly and accommodating, this wee place would put some Restuarants to shame, First class!! I've seen previous reviews that the scones and sandwiches are too small??? Ehmm it's afternoon dining for goodness sake!!! It's meant to be delicate and dainty, which it certainly was, and the finest fresh baked cheese scones I have ever tasted!! In my 59 years, and I've tasted a few !! Attention to detail amazing, oh and a complimentary glass of prosecco as it was the tea rooms first birthday, first class!!! Thank you for making our visit to Lerwick even more memorable my daughter is 32 years old and I struggled to get her to leave, Thank you again

Fantastic - are and loved everything. I'm gluten free and it was all amazing. Heaps of choice. Everything was identical - the gluten free and the wheat containing items.

Very nice place. The scones and cakes is small but so many so you can try them all. The sandwiches was very good but my favorite was a homebaked oatmeal buiscit with makrel paté.

Friendly and personal service. Everything is homemade and, whenever possible, locally produced. Can really recommend their afternoon tea!

Only been open a few months. This was our first visit, while the food was very tasty and locally sourced we felt it was a tad expensive ,considering how small the cakes and sandwiches were .The China and overall ambiance added to overall a pleasant experience.

Nice place to sit and catch up with friends but cakes and scones aren't worth what you pay. Service was average.

We saw the notice on the harbour front, and went, really as a last resort because we couldn't find anywhere else where we wanted to eat lunch in Lerwick. It was a really pleasant surprise. They produced an impressive gluten free afternoon tea for my wife (though apparently really prefer a days notice if you want gluten free cake.). Very friendly, efficient service and a pleasant place to sit. Highly recommended.

What a perfect way to end a day in Lerwick! The setting was small and cozy with delicious savory and sweet treats. Everything is homemade and the service was perfect- enough attention without being hovering. Especially charming was the owners daughter! My only suggestion would be to heat the scones before serving. They had been in the fridge and while still delicious a little warmth would have made that lovely butter easier to spread.

I went with a group of friends and had a great afternoon. Good selection of sandwiches and homebakes tho I thought the sandwiches could have been a bit bigger? Very helpful, friendly waiting staff and nice atmosphere. Would definitely go back.

This small tea room, tucked away in the centre of Lerwick is a gem. The owner was so welcoming and friendly. I appreciated the attention to detail. When we visited, there was a 1950's theme and this was reflected in the menu but also the music playing in the background. Chatting to the owner afterwards we discovered that everything is made from scratch using locally sourced ingredients. A great find and definitely recommended for the great food and warm welcome. Will be back next time we are in Lerwick.

This is a very sweet little tea-room with lovely staff. You get lots and lots of tea but the scones were slightly on the small side, and we saw on the other tables that the cakes are pretty miniature too! We didn;t try any of the savouries but the combinations looked interesting.

I chanced upon this small tearoom just round the corner from the bookshop on my last hour in Lerwick before boarding the ferry and wish I had known of this before. Everything on my plate was local and freshly home-made - the scones, the excellent strawberry jam, the delicious cream, and the strawberries were from the local island of Yell. The owner was very welcoming and its was obvious that she took care with every detail. I wish I had had the time to stay to sample more.

I highly recommend this tea room. The standard of home baking is high. There was a variety of treats such as prawn and avocado sandwiches, mini lemon mousse, cream meringues with raspberries and smoked salmon on homemade oatcakes. Shetland products are used where possible. Service was excellent. Because I am gluten-free; all my items were made separately. Nothing was too much trouble. Leftovers can be taken home in pretty boxes. A great addition to the Shetland food scene. Will return.

It’s more of a good cafe than a restaurant and it is also a caravan and motorhome site plus wigwams ( colourful wooden weatherproof huts). It’s at Braewick not Brae which is 15 miles south. It has all the facilities that a caravan/ motorhome site needs. Electric hook up, drive over drains, black water disposals, clean water available, good parking surfaces. Problem is it takes a bit of finding these facilities! Even the pitches take a bit of locating as only a couple are numbered. All the rest have been washed off, blown away etc. The showers are looking old and are difficult to manage. There is a playground and the beach is 5 mins walk but bear in mind this is 1000 km north of London, nearest neighbours are Iceland and Norway so the water is refreshing. But the views are spectacular cliffs of red rock and in the sea a set of rock stacks (the drongs) look like a Viking longship turned to stone. Wonderful to look at at midnight. You might see Foula, 40 plus km away. There are blow holes through the cliffs, take care. The Northmavine musicians play at Hillswickplus informal dancing for a great night out but it’s a 5 minute drive or an hours walk. Great place just needs an update.

What a privilege to enjoy the Cullen skink and fish and chip meal. This is an out of the way place to visit but should be on everybody's Journey! they do not serve lunch until 12:00 sharp! no exceptions! So instead I had a shot of the whiskey liqueur at 11:00 in the morning; whereas, the locals were consistently coming in and getting a breakfast sandwich made on a homemade roll. Btw, it is inside the fishery University on the main floor. the food was amazing!

Right by the ferry terminal so the ideal place to wait for a crossing. This is popular with workmen and with families. They serve a wide range of food and drinks. From snacks to full meals. From breakfasts to afternoon teas. I enjoyed a coffee and a tray bake. Would have called in twice more during my visit to Yell but it was closed.
