Great bacon and egg sandwich first time went. Second time closed kitchen at 12.15 even though open till 3.30pm. Think you have to get there early or run out of food.

Good for a cuppa and cake ,scones very good. Need to sign in your car registration number in the cafe.

A great little spot down by the river. Had a cheese scone a brownie and a cappuccino.... scone was beautiful, lovely and fresh and the size of a boulder ! Coffee was very nice too all finished off with a gorgeous brownie. Definitely recommend to pop in if you've not been before.

We stumbled upon this really nice Rowing Boat Club/ Coffee/ Breakfast Kitchen. Whilst Dog Walking around Weardale Way. Absolutely Beautiful Toasted Tea Cake and Small Latte My Husband enjoyed a Bacon Sandwich and a Small Latte and Alfie Furbaby has Scrambled eggs 🥚🍳🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾👱‍♀️🤓🐶

Nice and peaceful with friendly staff. What surprised me the most though is that the prices are fair. I assumed being more 'remote' that they'd be expensive, I was wrong. However I was prepared to pay more just for the lovely atmosphere.

Went today with our dogs, sat outside at a table and I went inside to order. Very busy with people waiting and two staff behind counter. Ordered two hot drinks a shortbread biscuit which was very nice, a piece of slab cake which was dry and stale. I collected the drinks and had to ask for the latte to have more hot milk added as was only half full with too much foam on top, the girl topped it up with Luke warm milk making my coffee Luke warm! The girl making the drinks was so miserable and working at a snails pace and totally indifferent to the fact that there were a lot of people waiting for their drinks, I had to ask three times for the stale cake to be replaced as I stood there being completely ignored. The attitude of the staff towards me was very poor, and I was made to feel like I was the issue by raising the aforementioned issues, no smile or apologies offered and a distinct difference between how I was treat and how the boating students were treat... with smiling faces and lots of chit chat compared to the unfriendly cold treatment I felt that I received. I would not return here again unless the staff there today were given some customer service training and maybe reminded that if they don't want to work there and are miserable towards certain customers then that is unacceptable and damaging to the owners business.

What a find out on a walk along the river. The food and drink was very reasonably priced, the staff extremely helpful and a beautiful spot to sit next to the river.

Great place enjoy it a lot and had good time .

Great barbecue lovely staff and excellent location

We drop in here most weekend while walking the dog along the river. Nice place with a great outdoor area. Has something going on most weekends with it being part of the rowing club. Always has a great selection of food, drinks and sweet treats. Highly recommended

Excellent cheese and onion toastie. Spolt me from ordering this in other establishments. Best I have ever had. Reasonable prices £4 for toastie. Staff friendly and efficient. Signage could do with being on other side of building as well as its not easy to realise the cafe is there if you are walking from city its self along river bank. Recommended.

Camped in February, excellent facilities, bar ok bit pricey.

Dog friendly, tasty food from kitchen and selection of cakes. Very welcoming and warm atmosphere.

Out for a walk a long the river with my wife could fault service excellent tasting Americano reasonably priced too so cannot complain. My wife's Flat white was lovely also. Did not try any cakes of snacks this time may next time after reading other reviews.

Whats the point in a bar that closes at 4.30?

Stopped off this morning, lovely sausage and egg sandwich, fantastic cheese Scone, very nice Flat White Coffee, and couldn't resist the home made coffee cake which was delicious. Service was fast and friendly, would recommend a visit if walking along the river bank in Durham.
