Really wish I had tried a cake, they looked so good! The chai latte I did have was lovely, piping hot and full of flavour. We were staying nearby and we’re only able to get a table when walking past on one occasion as was always busy, a great reflection on the service and quality of produce I think.

Called in here yesterday for a takeaway lunch, ham salad baguette. Lovely fresh ham and plenty of it, with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, red onion, coleslaw and mayonnaise with a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Husband had a savoury tuna baguette with all the salad. Best baguette I have ever had!

First time visit to this cafe/coffee shop but hopefully I can plan another visit to Cockermouth soon and get to have another fab breakfast. Staff are so friendly and welcoming and the coffee is good too. Great value and thoroughly recommended.

We used to eat in Veeva weekly, but since the change in staff it hasn’t been the same. The menu isn’t as good, lack of variety on the specials board, just not the same. We had lunch there today and my husband’s quesadillas was very thinly filled, and the portion of skinny fries had reduced to a small bowl from a lovely big tub. Not good considering the price. You used to have to queue for a table but it was practically empty! I don’t think we will be back in a hurry. Also they don’t let dogs in!

My wife and I went for a trip to Lowther Castle and Gardens with the in-laws, and after such awful weather we decided to travel to Cockermouth to treat ourselves to the excellent Fredricks which we've visited many times before. We started with the seafood platter / selection with a portion of chips for the young one. It's a great selection of items for fish lovers! After, we ordered some lovely main dishes, enough for 3 adults and 2 kids (1 kids meal of pizza and chips!) Lovely meal to end of evening. Will be back when next in the area.

Excellent fruit scones and nice coffee reasonably priced. Staff very friendly and although busy we had speedy service. Dog friendly but not apparent from outside so if not a dog lover don’t worry you won’t be surrounded by mutts. Traditional interior but very well kept.

This place was recommended by my dad and his gf who live in Cockermounth when we visited them recently. The food is excellent (many veggie options for me) and there's a great buzzy, dog-friendly atmosphere. This weekend, I wanted to get my dad's gf something nice for her birthday so I emailed them to see if they do vouchers. They don't but Henry emailed back within 10 mins, offering to hand-deliver a handwritten voucher on her birthday which really made her day! This is a lovely local small local business that stands out from other places we've visited in Cockermouth.

I was a bit tired after a fraught drive from Scotland in torrential rain, so stopped off at The Lakes Tea Room for a coffee. £.6.35 for a regular cappucino and a Mars bar cake isn't bad these days, and I notice they do specials like Cumberland sausage and mash for £11.95, which is quite reasoonable. Nice enough place to stop off for a coffee or a meal and popular with locals and tourists. I'd call back again as the staff were friendly and I didn't have to wait too long for a table.

Met a friend and had three coffees and cake. A good week later recieved a parking fine for £100 or £60 if paid within 2 weeks. I rang the cafe to be told a firm now issues parking fines for staying longer than 1hr 30mins or if a vehicle reg is not entered into the cafes iPad. This information was not noticeable and the staff never once highlighted it. I rang the shop to be told the staff were told to stop notifying customers. I am in process of appealing. Very expensive coffee
