Shaftesbury, Belfast
18/04/2019: Very disappointing, food barely edible, staff didn’t care either! We had to give back two meals and no word of apology...
18/04/2019: When we arrived the music was so loud the waiter couldn’t hear us order . It went downhill from there . The 3 chicken wings for a starter were a joke . They looked like anaemic wings cooked in a slow cooker . For the kids to complain about their chewy wings was laughable . As for the overpriced steak which looked like minute steak at £25 please don’t waste your Time here

Belvedere Cafe|Restaurant

Ravenhill, Belfast, >100£
28/02/2019: Here I go again, writing another 5 star review, breaking my rule of reviewing so-so places as well as great ones! Recommendation from a regular customer led my friend and me to the Belvedere last Sunday morning. The place was buzzing with happy workers and even happier customers. The fry pictured is the first item on the menu, £5.95 I think. Every item delicious, but my favourite was the black pudding. And I’m not kidding, there’s no grease anywhere, but there’s all the flavour of fried bacon, sausage, egg, potato bread, etc. Maybe the mushrooms weren’t 100% delicious (I’m hard to please with mushrooms, and of course I ate them anyway, as a member in good standing of the Clean Plate Club, and the Association of Hungry Farm Girls, had no choice)... Big pot of tea to accompany. Total bill for the 2 meals and tea for 2: £13.10. Oh, a word about the toilet: spotless, and on the wall, framed pages from old newspapers.
15/12/2018: My wife and I called here for a light breakfast, and weren’t disappointed both by the quality of the food and service. Two excellent mini fry’s. Will call in again.

Bistro Este

Ballyhackamore, Belfast, <20£
11/04/2019: I was here for lunch with a group of family and friends (party of 6), and was highly impressed.
27/03/2019: Taking a traditional Sunday lunch to anything beyond 'As good as expected' is difficult. However this place constantly leaves you with a feeling that they put love into their food and try and set the standard for others to aspire to. The atmosphere is dictated by how busy they are and who the clientele is on another particular visit. If it is a cold day and they are fairly empty it can feel cold but recently my experience has been more that they are full and warm. Either way the staff are attentive and friendly.

Northern Whig

Duncairn, Belfast, >100£
18/04/2019: We visited the Northern Whig for food and we were not disappointed. The food was fantastic and Mirek served us he couldn't do enough for us and we would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Belfast. Well done and we'll definitely be back
13/04/2019: Called in here for lunch on a Saturday. Empty when we arrived. But filled up quickly. We were looked after by Mirek all afternoon. (Turned out to be a very long lunch!). Food was good. Arrived pretty quickly. But the attentiveness shown by our waiter made for a great afternoon. Will definitely be back.

Made In Belfast

Shaftesbury, Belfast
19/04/2019: Entspanntes, ausgezeichnetes Essen gehobener Klasse. Auch wenn der Preis höher erscheinen mag, so ist er definitiv gerechtfertigt. Auch das Service war ausgezeichnet.
19/04/2019: Didn’t need a reservation. Wooden tables and lots of blackboards telling you about where their meat comes from etc. We Had pork belly, cauliflower katsu curry and a mushroom risotto. All very nice. Husband had a nice looking crumble for pudding. Unobtrusive but friendly service

Sawers Belfast Ltd

Falls, Belfast
17/04/2019: Just walking around Belfast and came across this fabulous shop / Deli...... the selection is second to none .... the variety of food is quite simply unreal and top quality!!! Highly recommend!!
31/03/2019: With a great selection of artisan & quality products from around the world...and lots of interesting local food produce, Sawers is a veritable Belfast institution and must visit destination. Whether to browse, or to pick up quality take-away lunch, you will not be disappointed. Staff are knowledgeable, friendly and will let you sample. The Cheese selection is magnificent...but then , so is everything else !!

Shaftesbury, Belfast
07/04/2019: I have been here several times over the last few years, but hadn't been in a while. We popped in Saturday for a few drinks. Loved the Pina colada, so yummy and lovingly made. Prosecco was great to, nice touch with the strawberry or raspberry. There was a great singer on. All covers but good craic. Was very warm in the bar for a mild day, but once brought to the staffs attention, they turned the heating off. Would definitely pop in again.
31/03/2019: First visit to this bar on Saturday night, lovely atmosphere, comfy seating (had to wait to get one),loads of choice at the bar with friendly engaging staff, music was good but not too loud so could enjoy a conversation with friends, will be returning and wouldn't hesitate to recommend a visit.

Scalini Restaurant

Botanic, Belfast
16/04/2019: Scalini is even bigger inside than it appears from the outside, but don't fear that you will feel like you are on a production line. Our young (genuinely Italian) waitress was attentive and efficient, and the restaurant has a nice, smart, efficient, welcoming atmosphere. The food is good too, with lots of choice and good portions. I am not always a fan of Italian restaurants, to be honest, but would have returned here on another night if our stay in Belfast had been longer.
14/04/2019: Visited Scalini Restaurant for my sister in laws birthday. We had garlic bread with cheese to share. Most of us went for pasta. I had seafood linguine it was delicious couldn’t even finish it.

Shaftesbury, Belfast
08/04/2019: Called in to the upstairs cafe for lunch and was pretty disappointed with visit. Had been once before and had delicious scones and a cup of tea so decided to try some lunch. We shared a cajun chicken wrap and some Brie spinach and pine nut quiche. Sadly both were rather bland. The chicken had no Cajun flavour. The creme fraise dressing and salad in the wrap was nice but the tasteless chicken spoilt the wrap. The quiche had no taste of Brie and was under seasoned. Unfortunately the trip was further spoilt by the filthy cushions on the sofa that we sat at. They were really grim and put me off the (bland) food. Such a shame as the scones are to be recommended! The lady that served us at the counter was very friendly. Will return to try the fantastic looking cakes but will sit at a higher table.
06/04/2019: I visit here regularly for their scones and desserts to take home. It is pricey but nowhere else makes them as good.

Bengal Brasserie

Ballynafeigh, Belfast, 30-45£
15/04/2019: Great customer service, felt very welcome and food was one of the best In leeds. Great prices compared to the city centre
30/01/2019: The food was excellent as was the presentation, very good service and a few good offers to choose from, the restaurant decor nice on the eyes, also noticed every where was very clean, have been here a few years ago and must say the place has changed for the better.Strongly recommend this restaurant, you will not be disappointed.

Maggie Mays Belfast Cafe

Botanic, Belfast, <20£
17/04/2019: What a stunning spot to stumble on! Plenty of veggie options. Served by the very helpful Sean-Paul. Cheerfully priced food with ample portions. If you're hungry, this cafe certainly aims to please. Centrally located, you can easily walk to the University and the Botanical Gardens.
17/04/2019: Great. Food service excellent and jodie and sean paul always on the ball come every Wednesday place is lovely and the food is very gd

Windsor, Belfast
14/04/2019: Wow we were blown away by the food here. We did the 5 course tasting menu, 2 standard menus and 1 vegetarian. The food was outstanding. Each course was a delight, full of flavour and cooked to perfection. I really couldn’t fault anything. We also had some delicious cocktails. The venue is beautiful and staff were friendly. A fantastic restaurant, the price means it is a bit of a treat but well worth it.
06/04/2019: This was our first experience of Saphyre and when we entered we were confused because it looked like an upmarket furinture store; but you actually walk through here to the restaurant. We were there for lunch and they had live music not conducive to fine dining which is about the FOOD.

Little Italy, Belfast

Shaftesbury, Belfast
17/04/2019: The taxi driver from the airport said this was the best pizza in Belfast. My colleagues agreed. I had the best, freshest pizza I’ve had in years. Excellent value for money too.
19/03/2019: went in here after a few beers on the first night in belfast, Service was fast and the pizza excellent.Had to go back the next day for more. 😎🍕 " Excellent Pizza "

Joy Inn Restaurant

Shaftesbury, Belfast
14/04/2019: Upstairs Chinese restaurant. Good value. Excellent variety. Friendly. Large floor area. Good for parties. Knowledgeable staff.
30/03/2019: Recommended by our hotel, we booked a table. From our arrival treated as old friends, the ambiance and standard of the food outstanding especially the Shangai fried chicken, also no charge for the crackers.

Restaurant Michael Deane

Shaftesbury, Belfast, 20-30£
31/10/2018: Looked forward to this meal as a treat and left rather disappointed. Bread nibbles superb. Mushroom starter good but too busy. Dexter beef tough and rather tasteless. Pudding a little chemical. Over all wont be racing back if going back at all. We went for the cheaper £45 menu, end price was £400 for four of us... with a G&T; each, two bottles of the better value wines and 3 cocktails. Expensive given the really rather average meal.
28/10/2018: On our visit we experienced top service and superior cooking with some delightful sensual elements : the glass cloche removal at our table with the smokey aroma of wild mushrooms was a stand out dish. We watched in awe as it was meticulously carried out at other tables throughout the evening. We had wine pairings with all of our dishes and we much admired the featured wine storage / humidifier centre dining room. Without delving into fine details our conclusion would be that if you love good food and wines on the finer side then you most definitely have to pay Deanes Eipic a visit while in Belfast. Top Notch!
