Ate here on a Sunday evening when passing through. Fabulous food, lovely leek and potato soup, we want the recipe. Lots of prawns. Good quality beef and turkey roasts. Plentiful portions and lovely service. May travel here again as the food was so good

A lovely country location for a meal out. We booked a table here for the last night of our holiday and were very pleased with our choice. It was the most upmarket restaurant we had eaten whilst in the area but the prices were not unduly inflated to reflect the surroundings, and were quite comparable with what we paid elsewhere. Portions were very generous and the quality of food was excellent.

Got a craving for their Cantonese hot ribs. So drove out of my way to get them. Portion is big enough to act as main meal. The beef ribs came with a hot Cantonese sauce with peppers and onions. Plenty of sauce. Have to be best around and the friendly lady owner always smiles and asks about my dog. I think they were ÂŁ6.50 at today's increasing prices, but well worth it. YUM. YUM.

It was pouring rain on a Monday morning when we arrived here In Poyntzpass on a recommendation. We didn’t know this independent place existed. This is a small village about 8 miles from Newry and this cafe is almost adjacent to the old canal towpath, which is part of the Ulster Way so hikers, bikers and walkers are a mainstay of their business. Like many places they currently offer the current government eat out to help out deal that ends at the end of August 2020. It’s about the only popular thing this lousy government has done in its first year in power. So we sat in and it was really cosy and homely. We were captivated by the sophisticated and shiny coffee machine - apparently it was only installed yesterday. The owner explained the inner workings of this contraption and I was impressed with the technology behind our coffee. We ordered large cappuccinos, one toasted chicken & pineapple toastie with side salad and one poached eggs (2) with avocado mash on sourdough with chilli flakes. All in all £8.5 for two. The service was ace and it’s really worth a visit or several.
