I honestly cannot fault this restaurant. I sat in the authentic lowered seats were your feet are in a hole and the tables in the hole and the seats are higher. (Very poor description). The food was lush! I had the spring rolls where were not like any spring roll I've had before and a Pad Thai ..... lets just say I need to go back

It was such a great experience. It’s THE BEST thai place in London i have been to till now. Me and my friend were literally there for 3 hours because they had such a good outdoor space and it was very peaceful (because it was a Thursday i guess). If you don’t like crowded places too much, go on a Thursday. Food was very very good. Coconut curry chicken (don’t remember the exact name) and sweet and sour chicken were amazing. The fried rice were delicious too. Vegetable springs rolls are a must have, also with their pretty and tasty cocktails. The staff is super friendly and the owner of the place is amazing!! A MUST VISIT PLACE✨✨

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Yum Yum Thai Restaurant. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance felt stale and unwelcoming. The decor was outdated, and it seemed like no effort had been made to create a pleasant dining atmosphere. The service was abysmal; our waiter seemed disinterested and barely paid attention to our table. It took an eternity for our orders to be taken, and when the food finally arrived, it was a letdown. The dishes lacked the authentic Thai flavors I expected; everything tasted bland and uninspired. I ordered the pad Thai, hoping for a burst of traditional flavors, but instead, I got a plate of noodles drowned in a generic, overly sweet sauce. The green curry was equally disappointing – it lacked the depth and complexity that defines a good Thai curry. It felt like the kitchen was cutting corners and using subpar ingredients. The portion sizes were small for the high prices they charged. I left the restaurant feeling unsatisfied and regretful for spending my money there. Overall, Yum Yum Thai Restaurant failed to deliver on both taste and value, making it an experience I wouldn't wish upon anyone. Tasty, fairly-priced and the staff were all great and very friendly!

My favourite Thai food restaurant of all time. Nothing can beat this. Even when I'm on holiday somewhere tropical, I crave the food here. Manager is sooo friendly and accomodating. Waitress' are so nice and have beautiful personalities. The bar staff know how to make a damn good cocktail. Can't fault this place, it's been excellent for years!

One of my favourite Thai restaurants in London! Not only is the food delicious and fairly priced, but the ambience is beautiful, perfect for both dates and groups, they also have a sweet outdoor area which is lovely in the summertime. The staff are very attentive, and it really feels like a luxurious experience without the price tag. And, if that wasn't enough, they have one of the largest, most creative, and fairly priced cocktail menus!

The whole experience at Yum Yums was excellent but at the end when I was paying the man at the till was quite offhand and abrupt with me. He continued to be difficult with other customers when they were paying. Lovely food and service overall.

I can't sing good faith give this place more than three stars because the food was weak compared to other Thai restaurants I visited. The side room we were in was slightly exposed to the cold and there was a draft. The waiters did try to make an effort to make our meal enjoyable though.

Had dinner here. Service was on point, not too much, just enough. Food was fresh and delicious and prici6was very good. Definitely worth a visit.

So- my good friend and sister comes here regularly as a treat - and we went for the first time. Great entrance , amazing decor , fantastic location and ambience was great. The staff - very welcoming , attentive and helpful . Based on these alone - location, ambience and staff - it’s 11 out of 10 . I was however disappointed with the portions as really dainty ; the noodles were my least favourite as beansprout overload and the sauce was just not for me. There was a very small pot of rice - which was ok. The Thai curry - I think that’s what it was - was really fresh and tasty . The pork thingy as well but my goodness - small portions Value for money ? We had the fixed menu for two , an additional portion of wings - and just water - and it came to a whopping £75 ! Paper table covers were not very appealing as I expected more but the decor made up for it. Would I go again ? Jury’s out on that one ; I am worried about affordability and this is not for commoners like me - lols. Can’t thank the staff enough though for the hospitality.

Lunch on Christmas Eve is a family tradition. The service is excellent and the staff are very good with babies and young children. The food is excellent. I tried the green curry this time which was subtle in coconut flavor. It was a excellent choice.

Really nice place, you feel like you are in Thailand, the waitresses are kind and polite. Everything was beautiful, some details to be fixed (all just noticeable from other restaurant owner's eyes ). The food was delicious. The cover of the table should be in fabric instead of paper, the service has to match with the prices the food. Price x person range of 45 /50.

Tried the prawn soup, the prawn skewers, the vegetable spring rolls as starters which was good! The mains I tried was seabass, the salmon coconut curry and rice was tasty! For dessert I had tried the coconut roll with ice cream, the banana fritters with ice cream and the chocolate fondant melting pudding with ice cream! Great food and experience would definitely come again you should all go too!

Expensive food… and it’s definitely not that authentic. Service was slow and it’s a very loud environment. Odd interior design of the toilets. Would not return again.

Just went for cocktails. Luckily Rash, the main bartender/mixologist supreme was working. Mixed up an off menu peach brandy cocktail with a dash of elderflower liqueur - like the most amazing subtle peach ice cream. Sublime. Also had a chilli Margherita. Top quality Patron tequila and all fresh ingredients made it such a clean moreish drink which heated up as it went down. Don't ever waste your time with pre-mixed cocktails, come to this bar to taste the real thing.

What a beautiful restaurant. Outside and indoor seating is spacious and well maintained. The restaurant is a quiet space with high quality food and friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit. The building of the restaurant means that there is always space and the menu is easily ordered to share dishes.

I haven't dined here in ages so it was nice to return. I've always liked the food here and I enjoyed my meal on this visit. This is the first time dining here since becoming vegan. I was delighted to see the options they had and how clearly labelled the menu was. I was also able to request a cocktail to be made vegan friendly. The front of house staff was warm and friendly. The general service on the night was a bit slower than what I remember but those serving our meals were nice and friendly which is always great. I look forward to returning and won't leave it so long next time. I have to add, the tofu dishes I ordered were really nice. The salt and pepper Tofu and the Thai red curry with Tofu was flavoursome. I didn't have dessert as like with many places, the main vegan option is usually sorbet. This isn't my favourite, but they had a good selection of other things for people without any dietary requirements.

The quality of the food doesn’t meet the expectations at all. We had some different meals delivered and it was absoluely untasty. Definitely overrated.

This restaurant seems good value for money to me. A calm atmosphere (I came to this restaurant on a Tuesday). The food is good and so is the attention of the staff. I loved the coconut rice. The space in the restaurant is spacious, something that is great for me. I recommend it!.

My first supper there was brilliant great food and ambience, loved the cocktails. Second time was appalling. Food was terrible, forgot that I asked for no egg as I have an allergy, they replaced the dish but the rest of the food was tasteless and lacklustre, a complete 360 from my previous visit. Disappointing as I was quite excited to return. Also noticed that the fish dish I ordered was the same as another reviewer on here and my sauce looked more like yellow ketchup! Also seriously overpriced.

We came for my birthday last minute and had the set menu. Delicious food, 241 mocktail drinks and a lovely birthday fondant. Service was great and staff friendly and professional. Really cool seating on the floor and authentic feel without being cheesy

This is hands down my favourite date night spot. SUNDAYS and WEDNESDAYS is happy hour all day, so you get 2 for the price of 1 on selected cocktails. The food is so hearty and filling that we always start with the soft shell crab. The 5 rum punch is punchy and will get you drunk if you're not careful. The staff are so lovely we are returning customers and have made friends with the waitresses so its a joy to see them. The service is always hospitable and welcoming they do go above and beyond to give the very best experience. The atmosphere is so lovely you definitely forget where you are when you're inside, they have floor seating with fish nearby. There are also tables and chairs, a cozy bar area and outdoor intimate seating. Overall a venue to suit every occasion

Yum Yum is a family favourite. We tend to go on special occasions, staff are always attentive and accommodating. Food is always served promptly and they are always willing to add a bit more rum to my punch. So 5 stars it is haha.

This place is a jewel in Stokey. Really proud because it was started by an ex-Clissold Parker. Been going for 43 years now and it has developed beautifully over that time. Great cocktails!!!

Such an interesting experience - there’s a variety of seating options - I found this really funny because you can sit on the floor but they have the provision where it sinks into the floor so you’re comfortable. WILD ! They also have a happy hour which was one of the main reasons we visited. The staff were super friendly and the decor was beautiful. I ordered the three sauce fish - which was not my favourite Thai dish ever, my friend had the pad Thai which she recommends.

Yum yum have been there for most of my life celebrations. They catered for my house warming party in the 1990's....many of my children's birthdays and my wife's memorial. Fantastic food service and people!

The staff were nice about a delay serving us, but the food was probably the most disgusting I've ever eaten in a Thai restaurant, and I've been to some bad ones!

everything went well, only the service wasn't the best, we returned a dish saying it had no taste and the waitress was rude to us, plus we even paid for it! we will return because it is a nice place. Nice atmosphere

We are outside with fairy lights above us, great food at a reasonable price and amazing service by Rash. He was incredibly attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu.

Modern Thai dishes with amazing flavour. Nice buzzing bience. Loved every dish and the front of house Amrit looked after all our allergens to the final detail. We will be back again

The food was absolutely delicious and the customer service was amazing! They were extremely welcoming and kind. Would definitely come here again. The atmosphere was also nice and relaxing, you can either sit at a table with chairs or sit at a table on the floor which I thought was a cool way to eat.

The male 'host' was unprofessional and very unwelcoming. The attitude of the host really let Yum Yum down as the serving staff and food were lovely.

Absolutely disgusting food :( chicken over cooked to the point my dog didt even want to eat it and spat it out also the pad thai only had 5 Prawns and it was so sour as if the noodles were out of date absolutely disgusting worst Thai food I have ever had :(

Stokey staple really, consistently great Thai food

I have been coming to YumYum's for nearly 30 years - Having followed them through several venue changes over the years due to their absolutely wonderful food. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming with tasteful decor suitable for any occasion from lunch with friends to a meal for a birthday or anniversary. Cocktails are always a must and the team are always on hand to ensure you're looked after and not left wanting throughout the meal. I would highly reccomend the restauraunt and in many cases this is the best Thai food I've had outside of Thailand. Stand out dishes include the Massaman and Chicken with Cashews as my personal favourites however nothing in My experience has been less than excellent. Even having moved out of the area I still visit whenever possible and get takeaway frequently without any issue - I would however say that if you've never been you should visit the restauraunt in person for the full experience and best food quality although I've never had any quality issues when ordering for delivery!

Ordered a takeaway. Delivered by UberEats. One of the ordered (and paid for) items was not in the delivery. Called the restaurant. Spoke to the kitchen manager who, despite the delivery bag being thoroughly sealed on arrival and the item clearly therefore not put into the delivery bag, insisted that it had been and that therefore I needed to complain to UberEats and get my refund through them. How about taking responsibility for your own product and service, Yum Yum? You cook it, you put in the bag, you seal it therefore clearly the item wasn't put in the bag, and therefore it's down to you to satisfy the customer rather than blaming it on a third party. Won't be using or going to Yum Tum again. Very disappointing.

When the food arrived it was luke warm as if it were sitting for a while before it was brought to our table. Due to this fact it wasn't long before the food was totally cold. I ordered a ginger chicken which came with substantial pieces of ginger which was bitter to taste which made the overall dish unpleasant to eat, along which that my chicken fried rice lacked flavour. It was disappointing because the service was good but the food needs improvement along with timing in which it is served. Food meant to be hot shouldn't be severed luke warm or cold.

My experience there was good but when I get home I stool all through the night and in the morning. I am sure is the way their food is been prepared I have a sensitive stomach.

My friends organised a dinner for my hen party at Yum Yum. I've been to this restaurants several times over the years and although I always enjoyed it, I was surprised to find out it got even better! We had shared appetisers for the vegetarians, meat and fish eaters, followed by shared mains. I've tried some of everything and I was very impressed by the quality. Everything was fresh and very well cooked, the meat was excellent. We had cocktails to begin with which were really great (my favourite was Thai Silk - check it out on their menu). Impeccable service and lovely decor made it all the better. I will definitely go back soon!

Outstanding Thai food. Best i have tasted in whole London. The authentic Thai dessert took our breath away-it was fantastic. Great atmosphere and has a huge seating capacity which is a biggest Thai Restaurant I’ve visited. It has a huge bar with great selection of cocktails. It has a separate seiza seating area. Also it has amazing art display. The staff and management are very welcoming and helpful. The price is very reasonable for the exceptional quality so I recommend to all. They deserve 10 star. I thanked my husband for surpassing me on our anniversary and having our dinner here.

We had a group of mixed food preferences sharing a dinner at Thai Restaurant Yum Yum in Stoke Newington. It’s a rambling establishment with several different seating styles in a beautiful late Queen Anne’s (English Baroque if architecture is your yam) style building (circa 1712). They have paid great attention to the decor as well as the menu. The ingredients are fresh and options change with seasonal availability. There is a dedicated Gluten-free menu and both vegetarian and vegan meals are marked. There isn’t currently a vegan option on the dessert menu, but they have committed to adding one. A range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are on offer. I was thrilled with my vegan stir fried vegetables with added tofu; all elements were perfectly cooked and flavoured. The watermelon juice was an unusual treat and deliciously refreshing. There are a handful of other vegan options and I would definitely also order the same meal again. The gluten-free, vegetarian and carnivore diners all had high praise for their selections. We opted for the sunken seating which accommodates up to six in a cosy conversation friendly configuration. I took a stroll and noted a variety of different zones with tasteful and consistent atmospheres throughout. The owner was happy to proudly give a little background to the restaurant; they were excited to recall being on MasterChef twice and The F Word with Gordon Ramsay in 2010. After 43 years in the restaurant business they are clearly still determined to provide a quality dining experience stating a business philosophy that chooses customer satisfaction over expansion.

Came here last night with a friend. The staff are truly amazing, attentive and friendly. The food was lovely and full of flavour, great cocktails also. Honestly can’t fault the restaurant at all, looking forward to going back.

For some reason I was expecting a somewhat fancy restaurant. Instead it's more of a family restaurant. I enjoyed it. Decent food, good prices, laidback atmosphere, kid-friendly, spacious, and generous happy hour for 2-for-1 cocktails. Portions are generous: we shared a menu for 2 between the three of us and still had some food left over.

Pleasant service but the food was a huge let down. Having been here several times before, after this experience I won’t be coming back. I ordered flat rice noodles with dark soy sauce along with egg fried rice. The food was dry, noodles clumped together. Only thing nice were the spring rolls. Such a shame

My partner booked this place for date night after it was recommended to us and we drove down from Essex. Absolutely brilliant spot, the food was delicious, the restaurant itself is beautiful and the customer service was amazing. The prawn pad Thai was the best I’ve had in London. This place gets 5 stars and I’ve already recommended to friends and family that love food as much as I do. An absolute gem of a place and I can’t wait to come back again even if it’s an hour drive.

The quality of the food has tanked. Haven’t been to the place for seven years, it used to be one of my favourite local restaurants, I was so excited to visit again but got very disappointed with the quality. Shame really

Just awful! the worst experience of my life, chicken served instead of fish, was told it was minced fish when it obvisiously wasn't, lied to then told we were right all along! The manager was rude dealing with this situation, especially when you don't eat meat & order fish to get chicken is somewhat appauling. There was also a mouse running around the restaurant having the time of his life too! So watch your food & watch out for rodents!!

Horrendous night here for my cousins birthday was served chicken when someone is a pestcatarien bit of a shambles from start too finish and too top it off partner sick and very ill from eating here would not eat here ever again hoping he is better in the morning left there at 11pm and still being sick at 2am

I've been coming to YumYums for years and it's without a doubt one of my favourite Thai restaurants in London. You won't regret visiting.

Easy to find. Well, the Uber driver dropped us right in front. Inside, we were immediately ushered to our table. Service is lightning fast. Upon giving your orders, food will be brought to you in less than 20 minutes. Super friendly - too generous with the smiles and greetings, sometimes I feel overwhelmed and think they’re fake. Food was delicious though and prices are reasonable. I had the prawn noodles and I loved it. The portions are also just right, anyone can finish them off without stuffing themselves. It being a weekday, not many people so dining experience was overall relaxed. One star off because my seat was full of rice so had to dust them off. They should check that the seats are clean as well before assigning a table to diners. Will not mind returning though.

My friend and I were just passing by on a Wednesday evening and got attracted by the lovely exterior Thai style of the building. We sat outside and enjoyed a few cocktails during their happy hour! The atmosphere was great and all the team members extremely kind and friendly that we decided to stay longer and have dinner. The inside of the restaurant was very well curated and welcoming with colourful paints made by one of the lady who was working there. The menu was large and with a lot of different choices. We went for a mix platter to start, dim sum , duck in special sauce and green curry, accompanied with a bottle of Chardonnay. We found every dish delicious and so decided to try also theirs hot chocolate fondant and fried bananas. I would absolutely recommend this place, great for only drinks or a fully dinner! A big thanks to the staff who has been incredibly friendly and really made our night! You’ll see us again 😊

Where do i start!!! From entry, the people are soo welcoming!! Great service and its nice to see customer service with a big smile and laugh!! Everyone!! The food was cooked at a very quick and quality speed!! The drink was amazing too and I WOULD RECOMMENDED THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!

The best Thai restaurant in Hackney !

Staff is brilliant always have been. Been coming here for 30 years. The chef has his good and bad days. We never had a disappointment here before, but in the last 2 years it's been fluctuation. Also owner used to greet and talk to his Customers, unlike the one that's here now, who starr and don't talk. As for the acting manager Mustafa, incompetence would still be a compliment, to descript it would be vile.... Bar staff Najib and Nish they are who keep me coming here...and my special two waitresses...and a special thanks to the blondie hostess at the front desk...love her...always makes me feel welcome.... After making the above review 6 years ago, I can confidently say, I never stopped going, as I love the food, management has changed since then, and it has been wonderful to dine their.

Yum yum is not what it was several years ago, the decor is outdated and could do with a refresh. The rum punch was nice, the starters of crispy squid, hot chicken wings, soft shell crab and crab rolls were okay-nice but why does the dipping sauce come in plastic saucers...very bad aesthetics. The main of crispy tamarind duck was awful, no flavour and so undesirable, wasnt crispy and the sauce bowl was huge....if your meat requires that much sauce then something is wrong. The four sauce fish was okay-nice and the fish with papaya salad was enjoyable. But the glass noodles and sticky rice sides were basic and not tasty. Overall, the meal was dissapointing. I hate to leave such a negative review, but I have to be honest. I would go to this restaurant if it was my local because to be honest it was busy. However I wouldn't return here and prefer my local takeaway. The staff are smiley and chilled; the lovely manager took 2 main meals off the bill after complaining about the duck and finding hair in the fish.
