We ordered a takeaway from this restaurant, when we opened it there was absolutely rancid smell it was so bad that we couldn't eat it we were made to feel physically sick. I called the restaurant and had to call a further 3 times as they did not have the courtesy to call back. I would never recommend this place, I can't even refer to it as a restaurant.

For some reason, I don't know why, it had been some time since my last visit, so it was a pleasant surprise to revisit for lunch with two family members recently. The dining area remains well presented with friendly, welcoming and very kind staff. The menu, whilst perhaps slightly reduced in choice, remains extensive enough for that delicious "why cant I have the lot" salivation whilst making your choice. We were all very pleased with our choices, nicely presented, and good value. Staff very kindly took a lot of time and trouble to contact me after we had left when they found my Mother had accidentally left her purse behind. that kind of honesty and goodwill go a long way.

We ordered a takeaway from this restaurant on the 4th November. I really wouldn't recommend this place to anyone to be honest. The chips were overcooked, the 'crispy' chicken was soggy, and worst of all, I ordered tempura vegetables and was sent prawns, which is awful as I am allergic to prawns! We won't be returning, and we won't be recommending it to our friends either

I had a nice meal at the Wychbury Inn last night with my dad and brother. We had a sharing platter for a starter and then a range of Thai curries (green, red and panang) as mains. All were very tasty. Service was friendly and efficient and the restaurant had a welcoming feel to it. My only gripe would be that it is slightly expensive - but I also understand that restaurants need to make some money after a difficult couple of years. Will definitely be returning.

Thought this place might have improved since being under new management but we were very disappointed. One of the quintessential Thai starters is fish cakes so expected better than four tiny cooked from frozen factory made disks, and being charged £5.50 for this. The noodle dish was susposed to contain thai basil but had none. The curries were a little better but nothing more than mediocre. For what they charge for small portions and average quality we feel cheated by this restaurant. To be fair though the staff were friendly and helpful.

Went for lunch yesterday and I must say the food was very good with very generous portions. Everything was cooked to perfection. The prices for lunch time were on the high side as only the a la carte menu was available. Thai green curry was £13.95 with rice and some of the specials were £18.95 but we agreed we did not mind paying when it was good and enjoyed by all. However beware they do put a 10% service charge on the bill that can be easily missed.

As we were looking after our granddaughters tonight we decided to order a takeaway from the Wychbury Inn, Hagley. What a disappointing experience it was.To start with our granddaughters went online to the Wychbury Inn website to look at the Takeaway menu and our two granddaughters, my wife and I each chose a starter and main course and my wife’s choice was fish and chips. The prices shown on their website came to a total on £52.40p but when I arrived at the restaurant I was told it was £57.51p. When I asked them to explain the extra £5.11p charge I was told the website prices were outdated and £57.51p was the current price for the food. It would seem they do not feel obligated to charge the prices they are advertising.I duly paid and took the food home yet when I got there the fish and chip box only contained chips and the fish and mushy peas were missing. My wife would not allow me to return to the restaurant as the weather was horrendous (Storm Denis) so my two granddaughters and I had to eat our meals whilst my wife picked at the chips. I therefore phoned the restaurant expecting to be offered an apology and refund for the shortfall but I was told that the chef had put both items in the bag. Do they really think customers will lie for the price of fish and chips (£8.50p)? Eventually they offered a replacement the next time we ordered which as far as I’m concerned is extremely unlikely as I’d rather go somewhere else where you can trust the website and the people you’re dealing with.

First visit to the Wychbury Inn, so wasn't sure what to expect. Very warm welcome by everyone - even the chef! Starters were great - we had salt and pepper squid, thai fish cakes, chicken satay and tom kha soup. Generous size portions, well cooked and nicely presented - good start! My Dad absolutely loved the soup. I had Pad Kee Maw with veg for my main - was beautiful; can't wait to have it again. Others had a selection of prawn fried rice, massaman chicken curry and red curry duck. We shared a veg jungle curry to test the heat - and it was hot! Good portion sizes - none of us could manage a dessert! To summarise, very warm and welcoming - excellent staff and service and fabulous food. Wish we'd tried it sooner! Looking forward to returning!

I’ve been wanting to try this place, and finally, I got my wish. This is the only Thai restaurant besides the one in Harborne and Moseley that has Som Tum, or papaya salad, which is what I always order because I enjoy it so. DH ordered his usual Tom Kha with prawns, and we shared a chicken satay. DH said the soup lacked depth of flavour. The satay tasted like real chicken, not brined, and the sauce was flavourful. My salad had the right amount of spiciness and hit the spot. Now that I know the Som Tum is good, I’ll be back. Wait staff and chef were friendly.

I ordered a takeaway- the Bangkok menu for two. Most of it seemed more like a very mediocre chinese takeaway. The worst was the chicken with cashews, with the chicken being unmistakably off, having a very bad smell. The starters were greasy and tasteless. The green curry was good- possibly the only thing that seemed to be thai. The promised pad thai noodles were missing and in their place was a greasy fried rice dish. There was no sense of care in the preparation. I will not be returning.

The Wychbury Inn & Thai Restaurant was booked by a family member for six people a week ago and we all turned up on time, Saturday 22nd April 2017 @ 19.30, some a little early however we were all made welcome and given a choice of seating arrangements which only took minutes to change things around, we were all seated in seconds. We were soon asked if we would like drinks and we were soon sampling the Thai Restaurants Tiger beer for the men and glasses from bottles of house red and house white wines were poured by the waitresses for the ladies. No complaints there lol…….We were handed clean menus as we sat down, served Thai prawn crackers in a wicker bowl to nibble on as we decided what we wanted to do and quickly decided to take the easy route and have the set meals for four and the set meals for two making up an entire meal selection for six people. We were soon given the choice of Thai soups or mixed starters where we all chose mixed, these came on two high serving plates where we all had a fabulous selection and tasty hot little bites of heaven with ample dips and a finger bowl of course as things can get a little sticky. When we had finished, plates were gathered within a reasonable time and mains were served, there must have been eight or ten plates of assorted dishes with plenty of egg fried rice and plain rice, a lovely choice which complimented each other, followed by deserts which were also traditionally prepared. We were asked if we wanted coffee at the end but we were all satisfied. I know I’m going on a bit but we read areas of this site and its reviews and were slightly put off by some of the remarks made, where I can honestly say we were treated and served beautifully by the staff and the food was fantastic. If you want to read the other reviews below then please do so however you must go and sample the experience of this place for yourselves and make your own mind up……… That’s only fair…….. We have eaten in many Thai Restaurants all over the world and this one is no exception, it had Thai written all over it, may be the draws near the kitchen needed repair by a local carpenter but apart from that we all had a great night, total time spent in the restaurant 2½ hrs. Many thanks The Halesowen Six

Came here with a local girl Lynne who had recommended this restaurant, and glad we visited. The restaurant is in a converted pub, and the one area still serves as a bar for locals. Only one ale on Butty Bach, and it was in good condition, so worth dropping in for a pint. The dining area isn't large and the tables are fairly close together, some nice touches of Thai decor, including a nice portrait of a previous king etc. Service was polite and friendly throughout. The menu is interesting and there are plenty of seafood dishes. I had the chicken and coconut soup, it was spicy and yummy, whilst lynne had the spring rolls and enjoyed them, the sauce being very tasty. Main courses were also good, my spicy meat with basil had lots of classic Thai flavours and heat, whilst lynne enjoyed her sea bass. Portions were of a decent size, and prices reasonable as Thai restaurants are fairly uncommon around here. So worth a visit, and would be happy to return.

Booked in for dinner at 7pm on a Saturday night. We come here three or four times a year and it's usually a nice experience, but it's probably the last time we go there. Arrived slightly late, seated immediately, drinks order taken and arrived no problem. At this point, the restaurant was fairly quiet, approximately 6 other tables and ourselves. Starters arrived. My Wife had prawns, only two on the plate, I had the starter platter, two of the 5 items on it were luke-warm at best. It then took the best part of an hour for our starter plates to be removed from our table. We were largely ignored for another half an hour or so until the waitress brought us a complimentary bowl of thai prawn crackers whilst we waited. There was clearly an issue in the kitchen, many other tables of a now full restaurant faced an extraordinary wait for food. The table next to us complained and the waitress agreed for a round of drinks to be on the house. After being seated at 7pm, our mains arrived nearly 100 minutes later at 8:35pm. They were good (duck curry and a matsaman curry). After refusing to pay the full bill (£65 approx), we asked for the bottle of wine to be removed (around a 30% discount). The Manager reacted like i'd just asked for the entire restaurant to signed over to me. She explained that they couldn't do that because it was unfair and that the kitchen was busy. She returned having removed one main (approximately 15% discount). This wasn't satisfactory to us. I hate complaining, i'd rather just pay and never return. The negotiation dragged on for around another 15mins, by which point i'd simply had enough of being messed around. But the lack of any sort of negotiation or admission that they had made a complete mess of our service lead me to do something i've never done before and never want to do again. I left my details on the back of our bill, explained to our waitress that we were leaving and the management could give me a call/email to discuss. I would imagine it was a conversation that they would have had to endure from many other tables after we left and i'm still waiting for a call/email, quite willing to make a payment towards our bill. Pros: Mains were nice. Cons: Service abysmal. Attitude when you dare to complain is worse than abysmal. We'll never go back, which is a shame because it's usually one of the better Thai restaurants around.

First time at this restaurant so didnt know what to expect. The waiting staff were overly attentive to begin with asking us how everything was 5 seconds after putting the food down. The starters were fine and presented well but my main course, chicken stir fry with chilli and basil was swimming in oil and soy sauce, the panang curry my partner had was delicious. The problem was the service. We were just ignored for 20 minutes having to stand up and wave my hands calling out Hello just to get noticed. We asked for water twice but never got it. We ordered two irish coffees and the bill. The coffees were watery because they used squirty cream. We waited and waited for the bill but yet again were ignored so got up to pay at the bar. They had charged us for something we hadnt ordered so took it off without apologizing. So all in all some good food but wont be returning unless they sort out there terrible service.

Booked a table tonight for 8.30, didn't receive the mains until 9.45, and it wasn't even half full, I can see why!! My plate arrived dirty and I pointed this out, and the server did no more than wipe it with her finger, I obviously asked her to take it away.... to sum it up, over priced excuse for Thai food, very slow and characterless service...... never again

We went for my birthday on a Monday evening. There was only one other family in there. It was quite chilly, I think that the restaurant would have got 5 stars had it been warmer and had there been on some oriental music for ambience. The food was lovely, portions are very big and in the meat dishes a lot of meat is given. The staff are always around if you want anything

Very upset and disappointed with this restaurant. Have been before but this time taking friends. There were very few people eating in there that night. One friend found a black hair in her main course. This was dealt with reluctance and no apology. They did deduct money from the bill but not happy with us at all. We live very close to this restaurant but will NOT be going again.

Really enjoyed the experience of the Wychbury Inn when I visited with my husband a couple of weeks ago. Food was very tasty, authentic and filling, couldn't fault the quality of the food at all. Decor inside is nice (much nicer than the outside looks) and very relaxing and cosy atmosphere. Restaurant was busy on a Saturday night as you would expect! Will definitely be going again on our next date night!

Had a nice dinner here. We both had Thai fish cakes which came with a very nice sauce. Then I had lamb mastaman and Thai yellow curry. These were also very tasty. The restaurant was not very busy on this night (only a few clients so not much atmosphere) so the food came out very promptly and hot. I intend visiting again soon with a larger group and on a Saturday night which should be busier.

It is a great pity that I find myself writing such a damning review as I have previously enjoyed some very good meals in the restaurant of this establishment but I have vowed never to return when the Manager shows such contempt for her customers and the service metered out to them. This was my second experience of ordering takeaway food from the Wychbury Inn; on the first occasion, my order had been mistakenly given to an earlier customer and therefore I had to wait a further half an hour for my order to be prepared again. On the second occasion, my partner and I ordered two non-meat dishes but, stupidly on reflection, failed to check before leaving that we had been given the correct meals. When we got home (some 25 minutes' drive) we discovered that one of the meals was pork rather than prawn as we had ordered. I rang the Wychbury Inn and explained to the Manager that they had given us the wrong food. There was very little in the way of an apology and I was asked if I wanted to bring the meal back for them to replace it. By this time it was getting for 9pm on a Saturday evening and I didn't fancy another round trip of almost an hour to take the meal back-so I asked the Manger could process a credit card refund to me over the phone. The answer was a flat no and an insistence that the incorrect meal be returned to them-presumably as evidence that we hadn't eaten it! I said that I wasn't prepared to bring the meal back that evening but that I would be passing the restaurant the next day and I would return it then. The Manager reluctantly agreed, saying that the restaurant was closed on Sundays, but that she would be there at 3pm the next day to meet me. I had a strong suspicion that the Manager wouldn't be there as agreed and, sure enough, the place was closed with no sign of anyone there. I was hopping mad by this point but resolved to return the meal the following week, whatever state it was in by then. I also decided that I was going to insist on a total refund (all of £22.60 of it!) for the inconvenience I had been put to. However, when I finally caught up again with the Manager, she refused point blank to refund anything but the cost of the incorrect item and even denied that it was she who I had spoken to when we had agreed to meet-absolutely outrageous. I have not received my full credit-not from The Wychbury Inn but from my credit card company-so the establishment has got off scott free-but hopefully other potential customers will take note and steer clear of this place until the Management changes its attitude and practice. I for one won't be giving them my custom ever again.

The restaurant itself is very clean and the service is good. The starters were enjoyed by all but the main courses were a let down. The lamb in the lamb mastaman curry was dry and chewy and other members of our party were disappointed with the portion sizes considering the price!

Wow! I've lived in Stourbridge for 20 years and never set foot in this place. Well, it's very unattractive from the roadside - UPVC hell!Anyhow, our young son went to Beaver camp so we went out to dinner. What a find! Beautifully decorated inside (DO NOT let the outside out you off), fabulous service and probably the cleanest toilets anywhere ever (important!).The starters were very average but the green Thai curry was off the scale - amazing! Proper amazing Do go. You'll be disappointed if you don't.

Booked a table for four needn't have bothered as only one other couple seated when we got there and no others during our two hours there, now I can see why.I asked for noodles with no sauce just wanted plain noodles server went away to ask if this was possible to come back saying that I couldn't as they are already done so had to have rice, we had a sharing starter which was very strange as there was only one of each item all I could have bought from Iceland for a £1 to be charged £7.50 really not worth the price. The mains weren't take good the chicken had a real strange cheap taste. When the bill came was very shocked at the total, Won't be going back all food appeared to be ready done.

Ordered for my Grandmas 80th Bday for lots of people. Man who delivered the food was lovely, and service was on time. Food was tasty and everyone enjoyed it. It was well presented for a takeaway. Thank you!
