Darn good Chinese takeaway food at long last, but it was a 50 mile round trip from Newry out of desperation to get proper Chinese. It was our first Chinese takeaway in near four weeks. We had no idea of the quality here but decided it couldn’t be any worse than Newry so we got salted chilli pork ribs, duck samosas, honey, chilli chicken & boiled rice, Kung Po chicken & noodles and a portion of tasty beansprouts for £29 with a free small bag of the good quality prawn crackers. We really enjoyed it all; delicious tasting, good portions. It took 45 minutes to get home so had we began eating within half the time it would have been better. The duck samosas were crammed with meat with a small pot of dipping sauce. The Kung Po was sweet, spicy with a light batter coating on the chicken, the honey chilli had no honey taste and spicier than the honey chilli. The only downside was that the girl serving was cheerless and those cooking don’t acknowledge you exist - a small price to pay for decent tasting westernised Chinese food. We had to travel as poor quality Chinese takeaway food is endemic in Newry, unacceptably poor. Worse still, prices keep on rising but the food stays crap. We had enough of paying our hard earned for rubbish food. It all came to a head as we came out of Covid pneumonia a few weeks ago. We got one Chinese take out locally between us - salted chilli chicken. Honestly we looked at it, my wife ate two pieces of chicken and regretted it. I couldn’t bring myself to touch it - a SABENA moment- such a bloody experience, never again. The remaining chicken and all the fried rice went to food waste - even the birds wouldn’t eat the rice. So we may have fewer takeaway Chinese but when we do it’s a 50 mile journey but it’s worth it. Ain’t paying for rubbish food anymore.

Found this place almost by accident ages ago when home visiting famliy. They mentioned that they did a buffet takeaway and was worth a try. A recent cultural holiday last month gave us an opportunity to try it agin. Not doing the buffet boxes mid week we went for honey and chilli chicken. Portion size was big enough to satisfy anyone with loads of flavour. On our last day before heading back across the water, on a weekend we went again this time opting for the buffet box. The staff are always pleasant and on this occasion we were served by a guy who had persona of either manager or possibly ow er. Opting for a 'bit of everything' he was stacking up the container quoting "I can get more meat in there, I dont like seeing spaces". Wok'n is not just about quantity though, think again, quality is top notch and will always be our regular anytime we are back home.

Dreadful. Dry overcooked tasteless chicken no sauce and no veg with the honey chilli chicken. An expensive takeaway but had the food been decent I would have been happy to pay. Definitely not be back there are far better Chinese takeaways.

In fact binned not eaten … raw pink sausages , bland friend rice with plastic chicken , cold chips and delivery 30 mins late … absolutely awful Never again … Di not order your take away from here it is really that bad !
