Wo Kee Chinese Takeaway in Angus

Kitchen was clearly busy and hard working but the customers were rude and disrespectful.

Was the Best Chinese takeaway in Scotland, was always my first choice. But unfortunately it's gone down hill fast, food nowhere near as good as it used to be 😔

Really nice food and good value

Greeted warmly by the girl behind the counter but noticed a rather plain girl sitting on the counter in the kitchen playing on her phone. That's where the food is prepared and she didn't look recently bathed. Ordered 2 crispy beef with fried rice. Order was ready in little over 2 minutes. When I got home I discovered why. Barely warm grey coloured meat with separate sauce. Tasted chewy and not crispy, clearly reheated from days earlier. Rice had a plastic taste and sauce only tasted of vinegar. Awful, just a pure waste of £24 as most went in bin. Never buying here again.

Disappointed with Szechaun Mix dish. Described as hot with chillies, it was bland and I could not taste any chlli. From my years in Hong Kong this wa not in my view szechuan cooking. Others in group happier with their, simpler dishes of chicken, and mixed meat and prawn in straight forward sauces

Dry, stale, and the only evident flavour is salt.

Visited on way back home not great food and service

Good service, food is nice and always been ready to collect on time. Don't need anything else from a takeaway, really.

Best Chinese food in Forfar. Really well cooked and no nasty additives. Lots of meat too! Would highly recommend.

Tired of them getting my order wrong, tried order on the Internet, got it wrong, tried ordering over the phone, still got it wrong, etc etc, the is OK... Won't be using them again

Ordered King Prawn sweet & sour and Beef with mushrooms with fried rice. Prawns were great, sauce tasted like it came out of a jar! Beef was very unpleasant, cheap, nasty and very salty. Fried rice was lumpy and barely fried. Very very disappointing !!

Chips are disgusting taste like the bag and there all soggy.

I placed an order tonight at 10.25pm and it was immediately accepted even though they close at 10.30pm which is very appreciated. Didn't need to wait long for the food and it arrived fresh and very hot. No issues at all and a life saver with taking on a last minute order.

Worst salt and paper chicken and chips i have ever had, chicken wasn't spicy and tastes like barbecue and chips weren't spicy at all either, they werent enough seasoning on them and no chillies either just seemed pathetic tbh never ever again 🙄

This is my husbands favourite Chinese takeaway. He says the food is excellent. I am not a huge Chinese food fan so I am not as keen. They use a lot of salt so we now actually state no salt when ordering.

Really tasty, well prepared and fresh food, every time. We're new to the area and have found the Wo kee delicious, good quality and always a fast service. So happy to have a good take away in the area, with a great menu, various vegetarian options and something to suit every customer. I've been dreaming about the beancurd black bean sauce since I first tried it 😁😁👌easy to order online, helpful staff, right on the high street 5*

Salt and pepper ribs to start, followed by sweet and sour mix, but with curry sauce rather than sweet and sour sauce (if that makes sense!). It was delicious. Only four stars, because the prices displayed on the wall chart don't seem to match what you get charged!

Very good & tasty, large portions with fast counter service. Note it is cash 💸 only (cash machine opposite across road) if not ordering ahead online. 😁👍

Reasonable for a small town takeaway. Sweet & Sour Pork pieces were automatically crispy, but sauce disappointing, probably bought-in (just sweet, not sour) Starter of Salt & Pepper Chicken good.

I've just had a delivery from Wokee in Forfar. Only because my usual Chinese in Kirriemuir has stopped delivering. The food from Wokee arrived within the 55 minutes and was still fairly hot. But I'd ordered a Kung Po King Prawn and the sauce was a very odd colour and consistency with lots of stringy soggy veg through it. Definitely didn't taste like a Kung Po. The chips were extremely dry. The rice was ok. The spring rolls tasted of perfume. Most of it went in the bin. It's safe to say I won't be ordering from there again.

Really disappointed, small portion sizes and lukewarm despite quick delivery. Ordered duck, a Thai chicken dish (described as hot but just very creamy and very sweet) and sweet and sour chicken and an extra £5 for 8 (very small) wontons which were completely inedible, basically a waste of money. Will stick to the royal kitchen from now on, normally have leftovers from there for a lot less money.

Never had a problem in 4 yrs food has always been great until tonight I ordered chicken noodle soup there was so much salt in chicken stock it was impossible to eat it, next chicken chop suey usually delicious , not tonight again salt overload , please taste before you send out orders , there is no need to put so much salt in food , when your food is usually very good .

Very disappointed with our meal. Chicken as dry as a bone !, honey sauce like glue !. Really poor quality.

Food promised at 19:45. Had to phone at 20:00 asking where it was. Told it would be 10-15 minutes. I phoned again at 20:30 when it still hadn't arrived. When it did finally arrive it was lukewarm, clearly having been cooked some time earlier. Either stick to the allotted time or just let people know what time you will turn up. Appalling service. Won't ever be back

Ordered a Singapore noodles overpriced tasteless not one single bit of spice in it and what looked like preformed meat Chunks which were also tasteless. Will never use this takeaway again

Normally order from here as there was no minimum order amount for delivery. Sorry but won't be ordering from here again, I am a single person I used to order under £10, (occasionally more if I had family/friends over) but now you have set a minimum of order £10 before you deliver. Which is a shame as food was really good.

I ordered food at 17:55 to be delivered just a 5 minute walk away. I opted to use there delivery service as I was unable to leave my post at work. I was assured that my food might take 45 minutes but not longer than 1 hour. After an hour and 5 minutes I phoned to see if my food will still be on its way and was advised my food is on its way now. 15 minutes later my food arrived (bearing in mind I was only ever a 5 minute walk away). Needless to say this is unacceptable and in no way good enough especially after being assured I would not be waiting longer than a specified time which they gave. I have no idea what their food tastes like as I did not accept it. I ordered Chinese food not a Guinness.

good service and fresh made food

This was a surprise takeaway organised by my husband as a late birthday treat. Ordered to arrive at 7.15. Actually arrived at 7.50 after we chased it up. Food was cold. Husband couldn't even cut his at it was crisped to death. Really disappointed with this and we wont use the Wo Kee again.

First time visitor. We had a very good dinner and will be back for more.

Awful food. The chicken curry was so salty it couldn’t be eaten and was thrown away. The ‘munchie box’ was so soggy that it wasn’t edible. Won’t be getting anything from here again!

Was looking for something different from wokee tonight and im so glad i tried their 'munchy box' perfect size for one. Food was hot. Not too salty. And delivered before stated time. Never a bad experience from this place. Been ordering from wokee (remember before the refurb??) for well over 10 years and wouldn't even consider going else where.

Have been ordering for years and I would say at least 50% of the time they got it wrong.most recently the guy on the phone (the Chinese guy) was,not for the first time,really rude and hung up on me.i will never be ordering from wo kee again.

I have always liked this takeaway but recently the curry sauce has started to taste very very salty to the extent that I had to throw it out something has changed with the sauce..🤔

Reasonable take away, only a small step to get in, wheelchair with assistance will manage....fast service....no complaints.... Wheelchair snag stops it being a five star takeaway....

Dont State open until 12am, but dont bother answering at 11pm, Disappointing.

I have waited an hour and 15 mins for my meal and still not here no phone call to say it will be longer shocking not good enough

Never fails us, good service and good food, massive selection, and good portion size.

Get a carry out once a week every week for the family and have done for years. Have tried most things on menu and rate very highly and must say very competitive prices plus the shop and staff friendly and clean brilliant
