Wiffle Waffle in Derbyshire Dales

After travelling 25 minutes to get my daughter a waffle, I dropped her outside with plenty of time before closing time, I parked across the road near the food cabin so could see her, two in front both served, she waited in the queue for 9 minutes just to be turned away at 4 minutes past 7! Rude and the last time I’ll be spending money there. Since the new owners have taken over it’s not the same, how hard would it have been to use some emotional intelligence and shut the door and serve the people in the queue from before your shutting time.

Delicious freshly made waffles and ice cream loaded with goodies! Staff were super friendly and efficient despite being busy.

Absolutely delicious and a real treat! The staff were inundated and very busy so we had to wait around 20 mins for our order but each dessert is made fresh and well worth it. We couldn’t understand why half of the seating was closed off when people were having to stand outside in the rain though? They take card payment too which seems to be rare in Matlock Bath!

Simply amazing!! An absolute must for dessert fans! High quality ingredients and totally delicious!

Visit to wiffle waffle August 10 2023, I have never been to a restaurant or takeaway with such rude staff, the male staff member in particular was extremely abrupt and rude to not just myself but the majority of other customers who attended between 4.30 and 5pm. The queue was out of the door when we arrived @4.25pm , we joined the end, the male staff member barked at us that was the wrong place to be queuing, we waited and ordered at 4.35pm, the male staff member was short tempered with us when ordering, and didn’t give my son time for him to order his food verbally before rushing him. We then waited 15/20 minutes for our food to come, my sons food came 5 mins before my daughters and mine so he sat In restaurant, I mentioned to the server I was going to stand in there and wait for the other food so I could watch while he ate. The man again chastised me for standing in the ‘wrong’ place and abruptly disclosed they were closed, our food arrive which was nice, we ate while listening to the staff member barking at other customers ‘were closed’ who dared walk through the door to attempt to order their food, even though there was a large illuminated sign above the open door saying OPEN ! Lol .. some customers looked round in disbelief. The above total spoilt the visit for us for a special occasion, for my sons wish to visit. My kids like this place and wife brings them regularly and complains of long wait times. However as a locals, we will not be spending any money with a rude outlet. Tourists enjoy the rudeness!

We wanted some doughnuts in Matlock Bath and no where took card payments. We then stumbled upon Wiffle Waffle which we’re happy to take card payments. My daughter had a bubble waffle cone and l had the Belgium Biscotti waffle. Absolutely amazing 🤩 best dessert l have ever had. Going to be our new favourite place to visit In Matlock. Don’t miss out 👍

I am only bringing this to your attention now as your restaurant has been reviving many good reviews but I thought I’d let out the truth. As I arrived the atmosphere was alright but when I ordered the staff were incredibly rude and bear in mind we had sat down 30 minutes before someone came to take our order. We waited another 30 minutes for our waffles and there were only 3 of us including me. The staff were incredibly rude when they came to give us our waffles. It wasn’t busy at all there was only us and another couple! But that isn’t even the horrifying part! My strawberry’s on my waffle weren’t washed and still had the green bits on the top! the waffle was dry and had no flavour even tho it was drowned in sauce even tho I asked for little sauce. As I took another bit I realised there was a hair in my waffle! I told a member of staff and they called us all incredibly rude and told us to pay and leave because we had apparently planted it there to make them look bad! U wasn’t happy one bit and I wouldn’t recommend unless you like a mouth full of flavourless waffle for the price of£12.50!!

Everyone should try this place! The waffles are delicious, really worth the visit. The milkshakes are proper milkshakes, and I’m not really a sweet tooth. The staff are friendly too, not miserable, made us feel welcome.

Used to visit regularly but the menu has now changed. No more sundaes, no more quality ice cream. They still serve bubble waffles but with Mr Whippy ice cream and they aren’t as good. If you’re visiting for the first time, you won’t know the difference but to those that have visited previously then you may be disappointed unless you like Mr Whippy ice cream. Real shame as we used to enjoy going.

Very yummy desserts and milkshakes but can get very busy. We were waiting about half an hour for our order during the illuminations and nearly missed the fireworks so make sure you order in plenty of time!

Visited with family, lovely staff ,clean,good seating and excellent waffles the chocolate orange was a favourite, well worth a vixit.
