Had been there a few times for lunch with friends. Good place for Indian food especially southern India food.

Great authentic south indian food, truly a hidden gem. I would make sure you double check your order as the servers english isnt the best but lovely chap non the less. Also there has been a price increase of about 10% and they are still using the old menus but i have kept it at 5 stars as the food is fantastic

Highly Recommended. I went with a friend the other night and the food was absolutely gorgeous, really enjoyed it. Excellent value for money Really friendly and welcoming staff, lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be my first choice when In Glasgow again, also really easy to find.

Food was okay but I wish there were more fish in the fish curry. Service was a bit slow and we waited for quite a while to pay the bill.

Nice location and good atmosphere. The food is as authentic as it gets, with a good range of things available. We had the chicken 65, shrimps, idli vada, chicken and lamb biriyani, paneer chettinadu and parotha. Everything was really impeccable.

Hands down my favourite South Indian place in Glasgow. Reasonably priced and has a rich, authentic taste. Good portions and a great filter coffee. The only thing to remember is that the prices don’t include the VAT, so bear in mind that the prices you see on the bill might be slightly higher. Nonetheless, it’s still really affordable and the food is absolutely delicious

We went to Banana leaf after we ordered Fish fry through online delivery platform. We had high expectations but it was not at all great. I might not prefer going there again. We ordered chicken pepper dry, prawns, biryani, gobhi manchurian. All of these were like 1/5 when it comes to the taste. Won’t recommend. Fish meal set was also not that great.

Lack of care in food. Dry small chicken pieces in main meal and had to go searching for them in flavourless sauce. Chapati undercooked and missing an item on takeaway, when I called the staff just said to reorder and cancel the previous order for refund. By this time what had arrived would ha e gone cold, so I didn't bother. Honestly, the worst Indian food I've had outside of india. Pull your socks up banana leaf!

Excellent South Indian Tamil food. Suggested by a friend, definitely a hidden gem. Been there for lunch, evening tiffin and diner on the same day!!! Tawa fish and chicken 65 was my favourite.

Dosa and gulab jamun were best .Must try it. rasgulla was okay and coffee was also okay. King dosa, rava dosa,chicken dosa are best Service is good by Gautam . Must try south indian items. Paid Parking available on the road.

The service at the restaurant is not good sometimes and you may have to wait for long if you are visiting during the weekends however they stop taking the orders post 8:30 PM . We ordered our food at 8 PM and it was served at 8:30 PM and we totally understand that this could be due to busy hours but again when have asked waiter at 8:35 PM for the menu card to order some thing else as we didn’t like what we have ordered before, then he said okay and he came back after 15 minutes and informed us that they cant take order now now as kitchen is closed . The other thing I have observed that they don't include VAT prices on their food menu so that it looks cheaper then other restaurants prices but it is being charged at the bill counter at the rate of 20 pc. However I like the south Indian style masala dosa but other things which we have ordered was not good as compared to the other Indian restaurants in the city.

The food was good but the service was not. The waiter looked in a hurry and did not even gave us the menu again when asked for. Also it would be good if they include VAT in the specified charges in menu. It appears to be reasonable but its not. I expected to pay £23 but paid £33 as they included VAT during billing.

Food was incredible. It had a home cooked feeling and tasted very fresh. Was perfect in a rainy day. Initially we ordered a couple of things, but we ended up loving it so much we kept adding more items to the list. We enjoyed masala dosa, omlette, poori, Gobi 65... Definitely recommend. One feedback is that the music was a bit loud so it can be nice to have a more soothing atmosphere.

Our food was way too spicy even if it wasn't labeled spicy at all. I like a bit spice but this was just too much.

Great food, very fast, lovely paneer! Great vegetarian options aswell! I can recommend the paneer butter chicken! And it's cheap aswell!

We ate here before a gig. The food was divine & so affordable! Can’t believe I walked out full and only spent £20! They happily toned the prawn chettinadu down for me as I can’t handle too much spice. The paratha I had on the side was so good I ordered another and the mango lassi was probably the best I ever had! For sure will be back and highly recommend others also try this place. Side note: I love the fact you can see the kitchen & them preparing the food.

I ordered vegetarian food (paneer butter masala today) The waiter gave me Chicken butter masala saying it's paneer butter masala. When I told it's paneer butter masala, the guy said ok I'll replace that one. People who are strict vegetarian will understand, mistakes can happen but he was not even a little sympathetic, he never apologized, no sorry. He was nodding only, and said it's rush in the restaurant that's why it happened. The funniest part is the guy has the balls to ask for the bill after that. Worst place in my life as I never ate non-veg in my life. Vegetarians special request - they cook both veg and non-veg in one pan, please boycott this place forever.

We went to this place on our one day trip to Glasgow. This place will never disappoint you. The food was authentic south Indian. It was delicious and pocket friendly too. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Tried there methu vadai, tomato rice, chettinar paneer, parotha, idli and other food as well, must say all of them tasted really good and fresh. All the dishes were authentic and had great taste. 100% recommended. Best south Indian food in Glasgow.

Very good South Indian food. The prices are very reasonable and the quantities are quite generous, so for little money you can enjoy a very good meal. Especially recommended is the Mango Lassi and the Dosas. The staff is very friendly and the location is central and very good.

Food is not so authentic only the songs are authentic. It gives a vibe of the small shops we eat in India no complaints about that but the price is not like that, felt very expensive for the service and food, the charges are like a fine dine restaurant. Never try biriyani here, rice and meat is cooked differently which doesn't make it biriyani and 10 pounds for that is too much. Seriously pepe's rice bowl is better than the biriyani here. A good initiative but it would be bettter if they work either on the price or taste and service.

Very cost effective, and very much authentic Tamil cuisine in the UK. The location is walkable from central train station in Glasgow. We were well served by Gowtham and Vasanth.

Authentic South Indian food. I’ve recently been there with my friends. For starters we ordered paneer Manchurian. No offence but being an Indian myself I didn’t like the taste at all. It was too sweet and didn’t taste like paneer Manchurian. We’ve got veg uttapam, masala dosa and rava masala dosa as our main dishes, and they were just top notch. I loved the rava masala dosa with sambhar and that red chutney. Staff was very nice and friendly. Would definitely recommend if you wanna have south Indian food. Not for Manchurian though.

Had a great dining experience here as part of a group of six. Service was prompt and the food was delicious. The portion sizes were great for the price and the set meal options went down a treat with our group. Note that they do not sell alcoholic drinks.

I ordered the fish curry thali meal and it was really disappointing. Thali meals are supposed to be served with 5-10 curries and this “thali” only had 2 curries; chickpea and fish. We went because of the good reviews and it was the worst dining experience I’ve ever hard. There was hardly any fish in the fish curry and only a small bowl of rice was given, the servings were really stingy. The price on the menu was £12 and then we were charged £14 with apparently VAT added. Very very disappointed and would not recommend if you are looking for authentic indian food.

I recently tried South Indian food from this restaurant and I must say, the flavors were absolutely authentic! The gobi 65 was slightly undercooked, but still had a great taste. The rava dosa was crispy and delicious, and the veg mini set was a great combination of flavors. Overall, the food was really good and the prices were reasonable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for authentic South Indian cuisine. I will definitely be coming back to try more dishes from their menu!

Flavours are fantastic, taste will make you drool 🤤 fabulous food overall, extremely reasonable pricing with affordable value & good portions. Service is brilliant with polite staff and interiors are beautifully and tastefully done with classic South Indian Music 🎶 to compete the vibe. Will be back again (& again) soon!!!

Quite simple place, Gautam staff member was very helpful and nice. Food was okay,nt too bad. I ordered a south indian Thali. Samber was good but chickpeas sabji wasn't good.I had a filter coffee. That was good.

The experience at Banana Leaf left much to be desired. The idly and vadai were disappointingly doughy, lacking the characteristic lightness and flavor that comes from proper fermentation. It was evident that they were rushed or improperly prepared. The saving grace were the starters – the Gobi 65 and Mushroom Pepper Fry were flavorful and well-cooked, providing a brief reprieve from the otherwise underwhelming meal. However, the inconsistency in quality between the starters and main dishes was striking. Overall, while the starters showed promise, the lackluster idly and vadai overshadowed the dining experience making it a rather forgettable experience.

I had chicken biriyani and vadai... it was really delicious. The portion of vada was quite less and small size.

Good south Indian food shop experience. I noticed one thing price in the menu is old and I been charged more than in the end. But didn't bother to argue as food and service was good.

My quest for south indian filter coffee and food in Glasgow got me to Banana Leaf… very friendly service, authentic food and south indian filter ‘kaapi’ 🙂🙂🙂 all smiles! Had idli, rava dosa, south indian filter coffees. VFM! Surely returning for another meal here…. Went back to get a takeaway for dinner.. had the haddock tawa fry and 2 prawns starters - spicy yet tasty. Also tried the Lamb Biryani which was good too.

The best thing about this place is that they serve halal items. I've been craving alot to have idli and masala dosa and this restaurant is something I was looking for. They have lot of food varieties. No complaints about service. Definitely recommend 💯

This was a great experience and the food was fab . £80 for 4 people starters and mains. no alcohol is only downfall.

A great wee place, fairly authentic south indian fayre, cheap n cheerful healthy fresh grub. Service is friendly but pretty casual & in keeping with the overall laid back cafe vibe. Don't come here for a fancy meal just good honest food in relaxed surroundings. BYO policy also a nice bonus. The place seems to be mobbed with students of an evening, quite understandably .

They are charging extra amount for side dish like sambar and chutney, that too which heavy rate

We ordered samosa, masala dosa and plain dosa. Samosa were crispy oustide with potato and peas filling inside. A few more spices can be added to it to make it more spicy version as they didn’t put any raisins in it. And one should have dosa with flavourful chutney and sambar which you can get it here…

Excellently flavoursome menu. Most dishes are spicy, all the ones I tried were very good. Very reasonable prices too. For two guys who ordered too much starters, the whole meal still came to less than £25 pp. The waiters were helpful and friendly. Visited on a Monday when they weren't busy.

Just named authentic south indian, They serve basmati in the name of rice and the only thing excellent is their sambar which was fresh. Curry was bad, the service was worse with not feeling welcomed at all. Would recommend other restaurants for better experience.

Worst experience with this restaurant. My initial Uber eat order was 22£. But they charged 27£ for the order which never arrived at my place. I have contacted the restaurant to help with my order but they are very unprofessional and I didn't get any support or help with my missing order. I have been charged 27£ for the food which never arrived at my place. Very Poor customer support from the person named gowtham.I will never order or recommend your restaurant to any person.

It was a home delivery. Vegetable samosa , vegetable mix inside dosa & paratha were all frozen food from supermarkets , not made in-house. Chicken beriany was very spicy to my taste . Very disappointed with this level of food .
