Village Chippy in Stockport

Food always spot on and the two blokes that run it are an absolute delight! Would come everyday if my waistline allowed it 🤣

Have just pick up a large portion of chips this chippy is supposed to have a good reputation but I'm sorry its gone. the chips look like pork scratching. Nearly said in the shop I would leave it, i wish i had.

Bit hidden away and tripped over it by accident. Only had some chips, but was served quickly by a v friendly lady. Chips were nice.

Best chippy ever .. STEAMED steak & kidney puddings no microwave rubbish .. proper chippy chips & gravy .. friendly staff .. always visit when in town

Used to be best but over the years gone downhill, gravy and curry always cold and chips not so good

Amazing fish and chips served fresh, good sized portions and even has battered haggis! Batter is nice and crispy and doesn't stick to the paper nor does it taste of chop suey rolls like some of those Chinese fish and chip shops. You won't find better fish and chips anywhere else.

This is a little gem of a chippy, a proper traditional chip shop where i can get even get my favourite "Haggis and chips", there is always a choice of fish haddock or cod which is as fresh as you would buy at the seaside, fish and chips taste like they should and not like many of the anglo-chinese where they are fried in the same oil as a chop suey roll.

Such a delight to have fresh, properly cooked fish and chips in the traditional way. No choices of 10 fish - which should immediately ring alarm bells, is it fresh, has it been frozen etc? Nothing is pre-cokked and left floundering under heat lights. Just doesn't get better than the Village.

Just simply the best traditional fish and chips ever!

Bought 2 X cod, chips and mushy peas and it was the worst fish and chips I have ever had, very soggy, full of fat, peas were just water. Had to throw it all away. Strongly advise not to use this establishment.

The battered Haggis is fantastic

Good food freshly cooked from a 5 on the door scored chippy. Traditional fish & chips along with extras such as haggis and black pudding. Cheapest chippy in the area. Nice friendly staff.

The best fish n chips in this town by a mile and a half. No question.

I have known George & Graham since i was a little cheeky kid who used to come in for a sneaky chip or some fish bits. These Guys did by far the best Pudding, chips, peas & Gravy ever. even after 22 years of living away i still crave their food. when ever i return home i always try get my usual tray to remind me of my younger days. i hope these guys last for ever.
