Went out for dinner and had a lovely experience

Never had a bad experience here, the staff are always attentive and food is stunning. Very reasonably priced too.

this place is a gem in the Fens. Absolutely delicious food, can't praise enough. The staff was friendly and very welcoming. Will definitely visit again. Gluten free options were great

We live in Whittlesey and had previously been to Vesuvio only in evenings, but this was lunch with visiting friends, There was a different menu at lunchtime, but there was still plenty to choose from. We all found our choices of food delicious, the staff were very helpful and value for money was excellent. It was as ell we had booked in advance as the restaurant was packed, as it deserved to be.

We rang on a busy Sat night- Maria and her team were able to fit us in. The restaurant was busy with a lovely vibe, food was wonderful, service staff were fantastic, loved it - will definitely visit again very soon.

Great atmosphere with some lovely waitresses giving great service. Food was piping hot and came quite quickly. Had the Lasagne on my first visit and will be going back again.

My husband and I have been to this lovely restaurant multiple times over the past 2-3 years, the food is always lovely. We brought our 3 children this evening for a meal for my birthday, we often eat out with them in chain restaurants -prezzo etc more for convenience then anything else, they said this restaurant was the best they’ve ever been to! They are all quite fussy eaters but all absolutely loved it. The children’s meals portions are so generous! My 10yr old was unsure if it would be enough but he ended up bringing half his pizza home with him! Such great value too, so much cheaper than the chain Italian restaurants and the food is 10000x better! The waitresses are all lovely, attentive and on hand to help. Love the nice touches like the olives and bread on the table too. Maybe some additional desserts that cater for children other than ice cream may be an idea? Little brownies/small chocolate cake or something but that is my only suggestion, everything else is fabulous. Thank you!

If you come to England it is worth stopping in this small town to come and enjoy the cuisine of Peppe Boccia and Maria Boccia. Vesuvio Whittlesey an Italian restaurant that respects the Italian tradition of healthy and balanced cuisine, with particular emphasis on the pizza of the super pizza chef Giovanni! Celebrated my Mums 75th Birthday last night at Vesuvio. Staff were amazing so attentive and even helped hide my son to surprise my Mum. Food was delicious. Fantastic evening. Thank you for making the night so special.

Went as a group of 8 friends celebrating a birthday. Food was excellent as always..we had a range of dishes including risotto, pasta dishes, calzone and pizza. It was delicious!! We also got to try the aperol spritz tree. Already looking forward to returning. Thanks to Maria & Peppe for another great evening.

Superb evening out with friends, plus they had live music tonight. Had an absolutely fabulous night. Very tasty, fresh food and great welcoming staff. Myself and my husband won best outfit, which was a bonus, we wore the Italian aprons! We were the only ones to dress up! If you have never visited this venue before, love fabulous food served by friendly, helpful staff, this is a MUST. Thank you to everyone for a memorable night. See you all again soon.

This is not Italian food.. people may be italian , but this menu would only get you shot in italy.... carbonara with cream...lol. where????... anway chicken with pasta....just says everything...... this is ital/english if at best....and really don't need to eat here to realise the quality ... if you can't even get the recipe's correct well ..then not a lot more to be said

Saturday evening with friends, what a fantastic meal, atmosphere & service. Maria is an exceptional host and catered for a few things different for us, the waitresses Paige and Lucy were really helpful too. The food is just beautiful. Also the new Spritz tree, I didn't have the whole tree but picked ones I like, if you like Raspberries, the Raspberry Spritz is a must.

We were really enjoying our meal until we met Maria, she had a really bad attitude towards us and the other staff. She was extremely rude and condescending towards me and my family. She completely ruined our night and we won’t be coming back because of her

My first time visiting Vesuvio, definitely won't be the last. Had a lovely meal which was prepared and presented very well. Tasty food, good portion sizes and plenty to choose from. Very welcoming and attentive staff made for a lovely evening out.

Brilliant night last night, live music rat pack style. The food was excellent, lovely aubergine starter for me and the fungi risotto was 10/10 the restaurant was full, everyone was singing and dancing or doing a little percussion. The team worked tirelessly to accommodate everyone’s needs, nothing was too much trouble. Maria the owner was on point looking after everyone to make sure every table had what they needed, the pizza dough was bang on, definitely the most authentic Italian we have experienced in the UK, we had such a laugh. Will definitely be back for another evening. The dough balls were lovely, everything was very reasonably priced. Thank you everyone at Team Vesuvio you smashed it out the park

The vibe is ok but the foods rushed and undercooked the calzone was not even cooked and was like slop the pizza was dough was still soft and undercooked, half the time your waiting for a waiter so you can order a drink but they never come . And you have to shout to be noticed, constantly mess ups on ordering of the food they always get something wrong when the order is clear and easy won’t be coming back, I suggest taking the extra 20 Mins drive to Peterborough to prezzo or pizza parlour instead of wasting your money here!

Came with my boyfriend for Valentine’s Day, it was excellent! We had never visited before but I am so glad we chose to come here and we will definitely be coming back. The service was brilliant, all staff were very helpful and friendly, we got brought glasses of Prosecco on arrival, the service was very quick and the food was lovely. Thank you for making our evening so great!

We had a lovely meal here the day after Valentine’s Day! Wow, what a special menu! I had the stuffed pepper for a special starter and it was delicious. The sauces are all different and tasty. Great kitchen staff and front of the house always excels and go above and beyond in their duty of care. We have been coming here for years and Maria and her husband never disappoint. We’ve had large groups of family and sometimes just the two of us and it always runs with flawless ease. It’s spotlessly clean, warm, and Maria and her staff bend over backward in their service. Thank you, it means a lot.

Lovely food in a cosy family atmosphere

Can’t fault.the food or the wonderful young staff but the female owner is rude and obnoxious. When she finally admitted that she made a mistake, the words “I’m sorry” were still too much for her to stomach. Such a shame as the chef is obviously very talented and the young people who serve obviously brilliant. She brings the whole business down.

Wonderful meal , lunchtime very busy. Efficient friendly service , would have no hesitation in recommending this family run restaurant to anyone, wanting authentic food in a very pleasant atmosphere...Thumbs 👍 from me.😎💚☘️

We had a night to remember at Vesuvios last night. They held a cabernet night with a singer Dave McClennand. He was great, it's a small restaurant but that made it even better. He got the audience involved enthusiasticically. Much fun was had. As usual the food and service was excellent, quantity more than adequate, quality excellent as usual. A splendid night with good company and fantastic value for money.

If I could leave 10 stars I would!! It was our first time at Vesuvio’s and we regret not coming sooner! The food was delicious, the staff were amazing made us feel so well looked after and the live singer gave it an amazing atmosphere!!!

We had the most wonderful pleasure of our first experience of this lovely restaurant and its fabulous food they have to offer. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. Shared lunch here with my wife earlier today. Excellent as always. Starter and mains for both of us with drinks ran in at around thirty tree quid. Food and service fab. Lucky ol' us in Whittlesey ! ! ! !

Vesuvio is a great little Italian restaurant. It is always busy and best to book in advance. Once entering you feel your back in Italy. There is a great variety of dishes to choose from plus daily specials. The service is brilliant and because it is always busy with good background music the atmosphere is great too

Hi, Came to Vesuvio for my birthday Tuesday 5/9/23 party of 6, Made very welcome from onset, the food choices were great from starters, mains and sweets with a good selection of wine. Everything was delicious and priced fairly, and was all served with a smiley face, will definitely recommend, and I’m going back soon, I’ll try to leave you some 🤣. Ben

My husband & I booked a table for his birthday treat, we was seated straight away then asked would we like to order as she gave us the menu, we asked if we could have chance to look at menu 1st & asked for 2 beers, our drinks eventually arrived & was warm 👎 we was then asked again would we like to order we asked the waitress for a few minutes, 25mins later another waitress came to take our order. My husband ordered the bistecca vesuvio & I ordered polloi alla romana when our meal eventually came my meal was horrible I got 4 small pieces of chicken in what tasted & looked like thick chicken soup with 4 fried mushrooms on top, my husbands meal was just as bad. When a waitress asked if our meals was OK I said no it's horrible, she then looked at me & laughed in my face I was shocked by this she then asked me the same question again & my reply was the same, it's was horrible again the waitress laughed in my face. I had 1 piece of chicken & left all the meal. My husband asked for the bill & we left. We will never return to the restaurant, absolutely disgusting food & very unprofessional staff.

We had our first visit there last night and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is owned by an Italian family who really know their stuff and all the food was excellent. The staff are lovely and nothing is too much trouble. I would make sure you book before going as, unsurprisingly, this restaurant is very popular

Authentic italian cuisine in Whittlesey! Everything was delicious. Amaizing pizza and pasta!! Panna cotta with pistacio cream blow our minds and tounges!! Just one thing which was not so good - tomatoes. I know it is really hard to get red and full of flavour tomatoes in UK and those in markets are just tasteless and orange… but anyway that was perfect dinner for both of us!! Thank you. We will be back very soon 😊

Having booked to go to the nearby Escape Room we were unsure if we would find anywhere in Whittlesey that would be able to accomodate our daughter being Gluten Free, we were plesently surprised to find this resturant, she had the option of both pasta an pizza on the kids menu that was GF. The portion sizes were great, really good value and tasted delicious, we were stuffed but would have loved to try the deserts, hopefully next time.

My partner and I used to regularly eat here when we lived close by, but we now live an hour away so hadn’t been for two years. We made a special trip yesterday for our anniversary and it did not disappoint. Absolutely amazing food, lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and very reasonable prices. Will definitely be making the trip back again soon!

Always an amazing atmosphere! HIGHLY recommend one of their music nights! Accomodate celebrations. Amazing tasty food, never had a bad meal and reasonably priced too. Love that they hire the local schools older children as servers to give them work experience and something for their cv.

Visited the restaurant with friends (we don't live in the area) and I was struck by the warm and friendly atmosphere as we walked in. The staff were lovely and our food was outstanding. Piping hot and extremely tasty. I'm coeliac and was amazed by the extensive variety of gluten free dishes on the menu. The cost was amazingly low. Hope we get the opportunity to done here again.

Food was terrible greasy no taste or flavour. Lady behind bar poured a glass of wine & as it dripped down side of glass she wiped it off with her finger, service needs to be improved.

Convivial atmosphere, warm and friendly staffs. Had my best pollo picante, very delicately balanced flavours. They also have a nice collection of drinks which are fairly priced. Easily a 5 star from me.
